All right well this is my first story and first post to any where so bare with me a little. (don't have any pictures because i wont release anything unless its perfect and i just don’t have the patients to draw anything without it looking like a two year old drew it) ch.1 Another day rises on the small and secluded village of Windloom as Fugo rose and stretched his body in an attempt to wake himself up. Fugo is an abnormally large wolf with fur darker than the night sky, except for his arms and legs witch were white up to his elbows and knees, and eyes of a blue so dark it often takes a second look to see that they really were blue. Fugo gets up and begins dressing without a word or thought about what he was doing. Upon leaving his room he finds hid mentor Dwon passed out drunk on the floor of the blacksmiths shop where they worked and lived. Fugo sighs as he walks over to his mentor shaking him awake with his foot. “wake up already will ya.” he says with a slightly irritated tone. all that can be heard from Dwon is a groan as he rolls over onto his back and looks up at Fugo with this “just leave me alone” look on his face. Fugo walks over to the forge and begins to lite the fires with some nearby flint and steel as he speaks to his mentor in a sarcastic tone, “how we ever stay afloat with you scaring all the customers away is beyond me.” Dwon is a brown wolf with a white underbelly and brown eyes with burns and scars all over his paws do to all his time spent working the forges. Dwon finally lifting himself from the ground and walking over to were Fugo was, taking the flint and steel he was struggling with and lighting the forges in one strike. looking over to Fugo, clearly amused by the young wolfs comment, “it’s because I'm the best at what i do.” Fugo rolls his eyes as he begins pumping the fire to speed its progress up, “yeah sure you are.” Fugo remarks in a obviously sarcastic tone. Dwon turns toward the door and begins putting on his shoes turning to Fugo before leaving, “I'm going to the market were out of ale.” Fugo mumbles under his breath, “couldn't imagine why,” then turns to Dwon, speaking sternly, “hurry back we have allot of orders to fill and only so many hours in the day.”Dwon then leaves leaving Fugo to work the forges until his return. A few hours later a person fully cloaked in black robes so that to hide there features enters the blacksmiths shop. Fugo does not hear them enter due to the fact that he is currently pounding a sword back into shape after it had bean bent during sparring by one of the warriors. the individual approaches Fugo, clearing there throat to get his attention, startling Fugo to the point were he ended up bending the sword into an “S” shape. “well this day just got about an hour longer” said Fugo in a disappointed tone. Then turning to the cloaked figure that seemed to just appear behind him, smiles and asks, “what can i do for you?” the cloak figure removing the hood of the cloak revealing a beautiful grey wolf with light grey eyes that Fugo cant seem to get his focus off of a few moments pass before she snaps her fingers bringing Fugo out of his trance. “are you even listening to me? i said, my father has bean having trouble drawing his sword in combat recently and i need you to take a look the scabbard.” Fugo finally taking notice to what the female wolf was saying responding in a stutter, “ i... i... uh... can i see the scabbard.” The woman signs in the fact that she had already set it down in his lap. this fact seeming to have just flown right over his head, she grabs onto his ear and forces him to look down. “it’s right there!” she yells as Fugo finally starts catching up. the sword was not common to the area it was curved into a large bend and was much less in size from blade edge across while most blades in that area were straight and much wider, not only that but the blade was the same basic size throughout while the ones in the area often had a larger blade at the hilt and was smaller at the end. “Well no need to go pulling my ear off.” responds Fugo in a offended tone. the female wolf beginning to crack her knuckles to restrain herself from knocking Fugo to the ground. Fugo catching on to her intentions picks up the sword and scabbard trying to remove the sword but to no avail. Fugo looks down confusingly at the sword and scabbard trying again this time with all his strength but again the sword holds firm. “well i can see how this would be a problem. When does it need to be finished by?” Fugo asks knowing he had a rather large list of things to do and that he may not be able to get around to it for awhile without Dwon hear to help with that. The female wolf stops to think for a moment before responding, “I’ll have time to come in about three days i hope you can figure something out by then or ill have to take my business else were.” Three days being more than enough time for a job like this, “I’ll have it done.” promises Fugo with a smile. Smiling the female wolf says, “thank you, i don't know what i would do if my father were to fall in combat because he could not draw his sword.” she, turns to leave before stopping and saying, “oh yeah, my name is Alia Soal and once again thank you.” before turning back around and hurrying out the door. Fugo sits and watches her leave in a daze. by the time he snaps out of it, she was already long gone, “wait, what, Soal, as in chieftain Soal.” Fugo quickly looking at the sword and scabbard he held in his hand, the fact that he was now holding the chieftain’s third most loved thing in the world, the number one most being the woman he was just now drooling over, finally hitting him. Fugo finally turning around and getting to work on the scabbard trying to figure out what the problem was. a few more hours pass and Dwon returns finding that Fugo had not gotten much work done at all. Not only that but he was now working on a project that he was not set upon. “well, well, well, looks like i may not be the only one around here holding this place back.” states Dwon with a grin. Fugo looks to Dwon with a worried and stressed expression. Dwon, noticing this strange act strange act from the usually rather cocky wolf, approaches him and looks down at what he’s doing before stopping in his tracks. Fugo notices this and turns with his hand wrapped around the back of his neck as he speaks up in a worried tone, “uh... i can explain, see, Alia, the chieftains daughter, came in with this and i didn't recognize her, and she wanted me to look at her fathers sword, without telling me who her father was, so i thought it would be no problem so i said i would, only to find out as she leaves that she is the chieftains daughter and.” Fugo stops his rambling a moment and puts his head in his hands. “I'm so screwed.” Dwon smiles when he hears the trouble Fugo seems to have gotten himself into, “well then, no use beating yourself up about it just get that finished before she comes back.” Fugo then looks up a pleading look on his face, “what do you think I've bean trying to do, I cant remove the sword from the scabbard and i cant figure out why not it just doesn't make any sense.” Dwon holds his paw out to Fugo, “hear let me take a look at it.” Fugo picks up the sword and scabbard along with the pick he was using to find the holder in the scabbard and hands it to Dwon. As Dwon begins searching for the hold in the scabbard an evermore confused look grows on his face. He looks back over to Fugo who completely expected this reaction, “uh... there’s no hold,” he then begins pulling at the hilt trying to remove the sword, “i cant seem to draw the blade either, how odd.” Fugo speaks up obviously annoyed by the whole ordeal. “thanks for pointing out the obvious.” Fugo then turns back and stares at the fires of the forge as they dim because he had not bean tending them with the scabbard to take care of. Dwon looks over to the stressed young wolf not insulted by the remark but also not thank full for it. “there is no reason for you to be snapping at me, though i do know where your coming from. just take this to Alia and ask how it is the hold works.” Fugo stands up quickly not wanting to miss a chance to see the beautiful wolf that came into the shop earlier that day. “alright I’ll go do that now.” Dwon reacting quickly to this sudden change in the young wolf’s mood, “ah, ah, ah, after you get your orders finished for the day.” Fugo tilting his head back and rolling his eyes, as any other teenager would do if they were just told they couldn't go see a pretty girl, complains, “oh come on Dwon you know this being the chieftains sword takes superiority over any other work i may have at the moment.” Dwon refusing to listen and states with a shake of his head, “we have a first come first serve policy, no matter who it is, no exceptions.” Fugo, with slight grumble in his throat turns towards the forges again getting back to work. Dwon also moving to the opposite side of the forge and getting to work as well. As the end of the day approaches and the sun begins to set,Fugo once again gets up from the forges and begins looking over the sword and scabbard that earlier that day he had bean having so much trouble with. by this time Dwon was once again drunk and passed out on the shop floor. Fugo whispers to Dwon as he picks up the sword and moves for the door, “I'm gonna go ask about the hold on this I’ll be back.” with that he leaves. upon exiting the shop he found a rather angry coyote standing by the door. The coyote quickly noticing that someone had come out of the shop turns to Fugo swinging out his fist to try and punch him.Fugo thoughtlessly dodging the attack and it instead hitting the door he had just closed. Fugo looking over to him as the coyote tries to play off the fact that he just punched a solid object. “how do you expect to be a warrior like your brothers if you cant even hit a target as big as my giant head.” The coyote looks down a little embarrassed, “not even the other trainees have the speed to avoid my punches, yet you do it with ease, why is that?” Fugo looks over to the coyote standing next to him, now that his eyes are adjusted better to the lack of light his full form can be seen. the coyote, though the same age as Fugo is much smaller, has redder fur than most coyotes because he is part fox but no other features to suggest his mother's lineage. Fugo shrugs as he continues walking without a word. The coyote jogs for a second to try and catch up to Fugo. “hey, Fugo that sword kinda reminds me of the chief’s sword, where did you get it?” Fugo looks down to the weapon he now carried then back over to the inquisitive coyote, “the chieftain’s daughter brought it to me to repair the hold but it doesn't seem to have one. Right now I'm going to go ask for some more information so that i may actually be able to fix whatever is wrong with it. why do you care Treek?” Treek speaks up happy to answer the question, “because a warriors duty is to protect there village no matter what and more so the chieftain than anything else.” Fugo stops and looks down to the overly proud coyote. “your not even a warrior yet stop talking like your any better than anyone else.” Treek sticks his tongue out at Fugo before looking over at the the horizon to find that the sun is no longer there it having set while they walked. “oh no i didn't know how late it was my mom is going to be so mad. i gotta go now see ya later Fugo.” Fugo watches Treek leave as he turns to walk down another road towards the chieftain’s hut. as Fugo reaches the door and is about to knock it opens to Alia quickly clasping her paw around his muzzle and pushing him away from the door and closing it behind her. “what the hell are you doing here!” she exclaims as she takes her paw from his muzzle. Fugo looks at her rather annoyed not only did he not like his face being touched but she had one hell of a grip. “i came to ask about the hold used on this sword because it obviously isn't a hilt held weapon.” Alia not knowing what that meant looks over to Fugo puzzled “what?” Fugo sighs and holds up the object that caused this predicament. “how is the sword held in the scabbard?” Alia finally realizing what he meant responds, “it isn't held in the scabbard by anything that's the problem.” Fugo finally showing his frustration with whole ordeal, “well how the hell am i supposed to fix something when the only thing that could be wrong doesn't even exist!” Alia feeling insulted by the fact that she was being yelled at for something that was not her fault once again grabs onto Fugo’s muzzle shutting him up, “well you have two more days to figure it out or I'm going to take the sword to another blacksmith and have them take a look at it.” Alia lets go once Fugo finally calms himself down. “alright I’ll keep working on it.” The two walk in opposite directions, Alia back to her hut, and Fugo back towards the shop. ch.2 The next day rolls around, luckily it was an unusually slow day, giving Fugo plenty of time to look over everything that he possibly could have on the chief’s sword. It took much longer than Fugo ever thought possible. All he could gather was that something within the scabbard at some part was holding this blade in. its around dusk by now and Fugo is trying to find a part in the scabbard that could be holding the sword in it, he is using some armor wire fittings wrapped around one another so that he can search all around the blade. “well that's all there is to it, there is no mechanical reason for this sword to be stuck in this scabbard.” He pulls the chain of armor fittings out from between the scabbard and blade and puts it down next to him. “well this is just great.” he looks down to the hilt of the sword and rubbing the end fitting with his thumb wiggling it loose. “well there’s a surprise, a hidden medicine slot.” he pulls the fitting off surprised to find a rather small scroll there instead. he removes the scroll from its slot and unravels it only to find that it isn't written in English. “well isn't that strange, wait a minute.” he the gets up and starts looking around, “i recognize that symbol.” he then rushes over over to a sword resting against a wall that an adventurer had brought in earlier that day. he then brings the sword back over to the scroll lying on the table. “lets see that's it, this symbol matches the one on this blade. I wonder what that could mean.” As his mind wonders on what these symbols could mean a large muscular stallion enters the room and approaches Fugo without him realising it yet. “Hello.” the stallion says after he realises that Fugo had not noticed him. Fugo suddenly jumps up in surprise and slams his head into the stallions jaw knocking him to the floor. Fugo quickly turns around trying to help the stallion up. “I’m so sorry i had no idea someone was there.” The stallion rubs his jaw and smiles, “oh I'm fine, if i couldn't take a blow like that and get back up without a worry how could i call myself an adventurer.” Realizing who he was Fugo turns around and picks up the sword lying on the table and turns back around. “here is your sword, and if you don't mind me asking, what does that symbol on it mean?” the stallion takes his sword from Fugo holding it to the light over the table, “it’s dragonian, it means “power”, why?” Fugo turns around picking up the scroll and showing it to the stallion, “its the same as some of the ones on this scroll, do you know what it means?” The stallion looks over the the scroll before stating, “well I'm not all that fluent in dragonian but this seems to translate roughly to, those of power cower in fear as the blade of the dragons protects those that are dear. well mostly but as i said before I'm not fluent so it could be a little off.” the stallion then pulls a pouch off of his belt and asks, “so how much do i owe you.” Fugo smiles and tells the stallion, “the standard rate.” the stallion pulls the proper amount of coins out of his pouch and hands them to Fugo and leaves. Fugo quickly grabs the scabbard and sword and hurries out to inform Alia of this development and the idea that began brewing in the back of his mind only to be met by the sight of a large winged reptilian beast grabbing the stallion he was just speaking to right off the ground and throwing him down. Fugo quickly rushing for the blade the stallion had dropped before the beast came back around. when the beast comes back around it aims its attack at two young fox cubs. Fugo acts without thinking and puts himself between the beast and the cubs slicing the sword at its maw the beast pulling its head away in pain only to kick Fugo into the side of a nearby hut, leaving a rather large dent in the wall, more because of his size than from the force of the hit. Fugo looks up to see if the two cubs were alright to find the two running down the road unharmed. Fugo breathes a short sigh of relief before getting up and running down the opposite road trying to get the beast to follow him, when suddenly, wham! Fugo tumbles over some one knocking them both down. Fugo then looks up in a daze to find Alia sitting in the middle of the road, a spear in hand. “Alia are you all right.” Alia does not respond but instead just sits and stares at whats flying around the village. the beast turns to come down and attack again, heading for Alia and Fugo. Fugo quickly gets to his feet and throws the sword at the beast hitting it square in the right eye. fugo says with a pleased look to his face, “gotcha.” just before getting hit by the beasts tail and sent flying several yards until hitting the ground and rolling to a stop. Alia, still in a daze but coherent enough to know that attack would do allot of damage, rushes over to Fugo with fright in her eyes, screaming, “hay, hay, get up, come on get up!” Alia looks down the road and sees a small red coyote running in her direction, “hey you,” she notices the markings on his arm, “hay trainee come hear and help me, this wolf got knocked out, help me bring him to my hut.” Treek stops next to the two of them, “what the, what happened?” Alia looks up to Treek with a worried expression, “he’s bean out here fighting that thing on his own, now help me get him to my hut, and get that sword and scroll to.” Treek quickly grabs the sword and scroll and gets below Fugo’s right shoulder, Alia getting her spear and getting under his other and the two try to carry Fugo off before the beast can deal with the sword in it’s eye. As they arrive at the chieftain’s hut they find that the guard are surrounding the hut in order to protect the chieftain in case the beast came to attack him. They continue forward up to the hut only to have a large jackal step in there path, “I’m sorry but only you and the trainee can be aloud in, we don't know if he’ll be a threat to the chief.” Alia, not wanting to stop and explain the circumstances to him, quickly hits the guard in the crotch with the blunt end of her spear causing him to topple over in pain. “sorry I’ll explain later.” is all she says as she pushes the door open to her hut and enters. As she passes threw a few different rooms she passes her father who quickly got up and followed the three asking a barrage of questions, “are you alright, who are they, what happened to him?” Alia ignores her father until she reaches her room and lays Fugo down on her bed. Then turns around and begins answering her father’s questions. “He’s the blacksmith i had looking at your sword, and he’s a trainee who helped me carry him back hear. The reason He’s unconscious is that he protected me from that beast, and because of him I am alright.” The Chieftain, a grey wolf like Alia but much older, larger, and with many scars on his face and arms, wearing a set of chain armor over his mid-body and legs due to the fact that the village was under attack, turns and yells over to the group of villagers in the room he had left, “Galio come over hear this wolf needs your help.” A young skunk runs up while stirring a bowl of dark-red liquid, “uh... yes sir whats wrong with him.” The chieftain turns around and faces his daughter, who is sitting next to Fugo her hand on his, her look of worry visible throughout her whole body. “ask my daughter.” Galio enters the room and begins speaking to Alia as he starts preparing a few things. The chief closes the door behind them before heading back to the main room. “Anyone willing to fight this thing grab your weapons and come with me.” the group begins to mumble to them selves as he passes by them taking a great axe from the wall above his door before leaving. Once outside the jackal that had previously tried to keep Fugo out of the chiefs hut turns to find the chief coming over to him. “Kento your not supposed to out hear until this beast is driven off.” Kento looks over to him expecting this kind of reaction from him. “Taom this beast is known as a dragon and it will not leave until either it or everyone in this village is killed.” Taom stares at Kento a confused look on his face. “how are we supposed to do that? it wont even come to the ground.” Kento walks out to the center of the road and calls to the dragon, “I challenge thee beast of time to a battle of strength at the draws of land. The dragon comes down from the sky landing on the road in front of Kento. “foolish creature, you believe yourself a match for a beast of time.” Kento readies his great axe not looking away from the enemy ahead of him. “it does not matter whether or not I have a chance against you, I simply cannot let you harm anymore of my people.” The dragon readies itself as well. “then what is your wager, land bound fool.” “if you win i offer myself to be your slave until my death.” One of the warriors standing nearby rushes forward. “Chief you can’t do that think about the village, think about your daughter.” Kento looks over to the warrior who had called out to him. “believe me i am,” Kento then looks back over to the dragon, “that's why if i win you will leave this village and never return.” The dragon smiles, a wide and devilish grin spreading across its face. “fine I’ll agree to those terms.” and with that the dragons shoots a wave of fire from its mouth. Kento quickly dashes forward ducking beneath the dragons attack. The dragon can not see his approach because of his own flame. Kento quickly gets below the dragon and slashes upward cutting into the dragon’s soft underbelly with his great axe. The dragon quickly kicking its rear foot forward knocking Kento and his weapon to the ground. The dragon then moves back to ready itself for another attack only to stop noticing that Kento had not yet moved after the attack. “oh don't tell me its over already, I was just getting interested.” The dragon approaches Kento’s unconscious body. “well then I guess I’ll just have to take you with me.” The dragon looks over toward the group of warriors gathered near him. “Well it looks like you all get a short respite while i take my slave to his new home, but don’t take that the wrong way I’ll be sure to come back and kill the rest of you no worries. Luckily for you a certain black and white wolf decided to throw his weapon into my eye earlier so I won’t be back for 1 year. Until then.” The dragon then picks up Kento and flies off followed by spears and arrows from the warriors down below. Taom falls to the ground in disbelief. “how could I let this happen? I’m the lead warrior. what the hell was i thinking? I’m supposed to make sure the chief doesn't get hurt.” One of the warriors holding a bow approach Taom. “it isn't your fault, we all have to follow the chieftains orders no matter what they are.” Taom gets up off the ground and tries to compose himself. “I’ve got to tell Aila about this. I’m not going to enjoy that conversation that's for sure.” Taom starts walking towards the chieftain’s hut trying his best to keep his composure but it is evident to everyone around him that he was clearly saddened by the whole ordeal. Taom stands and stares at the door to Alia’s room before reaching up to knock at the door. Only for it to open just before he does. “Oh, Galio, hello is Alia in there.” The young skunk looks up to Taom. “oh hi Taom she just fell asleep would you like me to wake her.” Taom looks at the door. “No she’s gone threw enough today, I’ll wait to give her the bad news in the morning.”
