The book was edited by many of its inheritors and its contents range from alchemical diagrams and apparently constructed languages to intentionally blasphemous pornography. The page is a fine leather, the outlines are dark dye laid into the leather with a needle, and most of the color is painted on with common period materials. The unusual, almost ethereal glow is done with gold and silver thread; the opposite side of this page uses the reversed patterns in what are labled \"summoning circles,\" but contain elements of clockwork diagrams and may have been repurposed by a late author. Examination under a microscope revealed that the blue paint is a mixture of beetle-based dye, silver flakes, and lapis lazuli, a stone that is not believed to have been known when the painting was started.\n\nBecause of the work's apparent lack of purpose and myriad stylistic inconsistencies, many scholars write it off as an elaborate hoax created in the 1920s. Defenders in the scholastic world claim that the style changes reflect the seven to ten authors of the work and point to the Voynich manuscripts and more modern mythos like Discordianism as proof that the kind of people who would contribute to such a work would be \"in on the joke.\" Less reputable sources of support for the document's authenticity suggest an unorthodox explanation for its existence and incomprehensibility: the Necronomicon was written by actual demons (or daemons, if you prefer).\n\nEarly, I know, but I don't want to wait another HOUR before it magically becomes 1am.
