Recap from end of Chapter 1: (Shadow POV 1st Person)— Eggman base? The only time I met a jackal at one of his bases was… The memories came rushing forth, but I never truly forgot. I always secretly wished to see him again. But I never would have wanted things to turn out like this. --------- Back to one month before Dr. Eggman took over the world… Now, I have everything, because of your arrogance… I think.... *Infinite POV 1st Person “I’ve only become what I am because of you, yet you don’t remember. But, I suppose that’s the way it goes.” I sneered at him. Though the hedgehog looked conflicted, which confused me greatly, I chose to ignore it as I had other things to think about; other plans. “It simply means that the old me was too weak, too pathetic to remember.” I spoke as a wicked grin sketched its way onto my hidden face, “And now, you’ve become nothing more than an insect, waiting to be crushed underfoot.” ? This wasn’t good. It was clearly read on the brooding male’s face while also holding a look of puzzlement. This brought a strong delight in me. Oh I couldn’t wait for the show to begin. “Thanks to this limitless power I have obtained, I have become unstoppable! Take THIS!” A strong sound came from my palms as a red glow interlaced my fingers. It was now time to start, and I was ready. *Shadow POV 1st Person I heard a strange noise, and then, a sudden sensation fell over me. ! My eyes squeezed shut from the bright red light, and when they opened, I found myself not where I had been only moments ago. What was once city streets turned into lush green trees and thick grass. This place, was Green Hill. How did I get here? What did Infinite do? Infinite… That must have been the jackal I kissed before. There couldn’t be any other explanation for why he was so upset. After all, I did take out his squad, and forced him to makeout with me… Shit. My feet picked up as I began to make my way through the nature filled land that I was familiar with. I then heard Rouge in my earpiece, “Shadow? Shadow? Shadow! Do you read me?” Though moving, my mind was all jumbled, kind of like jello, but I had to stay focused, “...What happened to Infinite?” “Huh? What’re you mumbling about Shadow? You okay?” “Do you like my little game Shadow?” His voice! I heard it! But, where did it come from? It almost sounded like it was in my head… “Anybody home?” I heard the bat’s voice again, “We’re going to pick up Omega--he was destroyed three months ago, remember? Get it together!” Wait, what? What the hell is going on?! “Come now dear Shadow, you haven’t given up yet, have you?” Picking up the pace, I sped faster down the paths in front of me. I was so confused. “This is where Omega was destroyed…” I mumbled in puzzlement, “But there’s no sign of him here.” Giggling, she replied, “Sure seems that way. Probably because it never really happened!” “What?” “Affirmative,” the deep tone of Omega was heard in my ear, “I have never known d-d-de-defeat!” “Omega?” I couldn’t grasp what was happening. “I am not defeated. I am not weak. I am not weak. I AM NOT WEAK… I AM NOT WEAK… I AM NOT WEAK…” What is this? My head…! As I was about to reach what I was hoping was an exit, a kick was harshly delivered to my back, sending me flying down onto a patch of grass. *Infinite POV 1st Person After landing Shadow on the ground, I felt glee bubble in my chest as I watched the hedgehog groan in pain and confusion. Those ruby eyes glanced up at me, and though I expected to see anger, I only saw a neutral expression. It pissed me off. So I kicked him across the face, landing him on his back. Normally, the hedgehog wouldn’t be so pathetic, but the Phantom Ruby must have rendered him powerless. Good… Crouching down, I positioned myself over him while straddling his hips. I was a bit surprised at myself for doing this, but it’s his fault. It’s all his fault. “You’re the jackal I met in Mystic Jungle,” Shadow stated, not questioned. Quiet for a moment, I stayed on top of the oddly calm agent as my mind swirled. So, he did remember. I thought maybe it was just some quick makeout for him before seeing me as completely useless and leaving me there. Fuck. Hesitantly, my hands lifted up to my mask, and then sluggishly removed the metal from my face before setting it off to the side; now clearly showing to the person who never wanted to see it again. “Yes. And now you can see the one face you didn’t want to. How unfortunate for you…” Grimincing, Shadow gave me a stare that was apologetic. Why? Why did that expression form on his muzzle? “You are the only face I’d rather see.” ...What? My eyebrows rose from that statement. Shadow the Hedgehog, brooding and vile, would never be one to say such disgusting words, even as a joke. “What the hell are you playing at?!” I snarled as I slammed both of my hands on each side of Shadow’s face into the grass; the agent not even flinching. “I said those things hoping I wouldn’t have to fight you again.” “You think I’m going to believe that bullshit!?” I shouted at him as my face heated in rage. “You took everything away from me! My squad! My dignity! My pride… I fucking hate you Shadow the Hedgehog.” Giving a subtle grin, Shadow questioned, “Really now? Then why are you on top of me like this?” Pausing, I realized I was still sitting on his abdomen and leaning over him. My muzzle burned but I ignored it as I harshly glared at him. “I am showing my dominance and that I am better than you!” Smirking at me still, he continued, “If it’s you showing it, then I suppose I don’t mind.” “What the actual fuck is wrong with you?!” “You.” “What?” Fingers instantly traveled into my scalp before I was pulled down and my lips forcibly met his. ! My mind flashed to last time in the Mystic Jungle. I was so jumbled then. I was even now, but…. I feel strange. Eyelids fluttered shut as I felt myself relax. The fingers in my white streaks gently scratched as his lips softly brushed against mine; causing me to quietly moan. What is happening to me? Why am I allowing this? I’m strong. I could beat the shit out of the Ultimate Lifeform if I wanted. All of this was for revenge! Why?! My mind short circuited as Shadow’s free hand rested on my hip before pulling me closer to him; almost causing me to fall on his body. Maybe that’s what he wanted. I don’t know, and I kinda don’t care. Losing myself in those sweet touches from his lips on mine, I finally gave in. I let him drag me down more as I pressed my mouth further against his; deepening our kiss. I heard him groan pleasantly from my response to his initiation...I liked it. It was my turn to control this. One of my hands was used to keep myself propped up while my free fingers went and explored his white chest fur, eliciting a delectable sound as his teeth bit lightly along my lips. However, instead of trying to gain entrance into my mouth like last time, his canines traveled and nipped along my jawline. A shaky sigh escaped as I unconsciously tilted my head; giving him better access, which was gladly taken as he now nibbled and sucked on the fur and skin of my throat. The world tumbled as Shadow suddenly switched our positions and I found myself lying on my back in the grass. Looking up at him, I almost complained, as I was the one who was supposed to be on top, but he didn’t give me a chance to as he kissed me, and then suckled along my neck; making me shiver in delight. “S-Shadow…” I breathed out huskily as my fingers gripped the grass below me. “Yes love?” “Love? What kind of fucking nickname is that?” He didn’t answer; only continuing to shower my throat in attention as one hand gently mapped out my chest. Everything felt so good. I wish it didn’t, but I couldn’t help it. “Shadow? Are you there?” A female voice. Suddenly, my face fell. I was getting distracted, and it was messing with my powers. Wait, what if Shadow did this on purpose? What if…? “Get off!” I snarled, about to push him away, but he gripped my wrists and pinned them to the ground. I glared. “Did you have fun fucking around with me you asshole?!” I shouted at him, feeling this pain in my chest, “You son of a…!” His lips slanted over mine. “It wasn’t a game. It never was. Not for me.” My mind broke. The illusion disappeared, and now we both sat on a crumbled street way in the City. “Can you read me? Shadow?” That female voice again. Narrowing my eyes, I came too far now. I won’t stop. Not now, not ever. I will win against him. I will have my revenge. “This isn’t over Shadow.” And I disappeared from his sight, missing his words, “I hope it’s not.”
