Now, back to the story, here we explore the whole section of the Kokiri Forest and the Deku Tree.", "writing": "In the vast, deep forest of Hyrule…\nLong have I served as the guardian spirit…\nI am known as the Deku Tree.\nThe children of the forest, the Kokiri, live here with me.\nEach Kokiri has his or her own guardian fairy.\nHowever, there is at least one boy who does not have a fairy…\n\nA young Kokiri with blonde hair and green robes was having a nightmare while sleeping. In there, he was in front of large stone walls as a drawbridge lowered down. When this bridge got down, a white haired woman riding a white horse carrying a young girl passed by his side, her eyes looking behind them and at the boy. Then the Kokiri felt a presence behind him, and he turned around.\nHe found a large man of dark skin, red hair, and yellow eyes with black clothes, riding a huge black horse. The man turned to the Kokiri, extending his hand at the scared boy.\n\nInside a large forest in the morning, a large tree was standing in the middle of a large plain. Said tree soon stares with his ‘face’ at three adult figures that approached the large tree.\n“Okay, Deku Tree. It has been three days now. Which is your answer?” Said one of them in a German tone. “Have you changed your mind?”\n“Say to thy master that mine answer shall aye be the like. The gem, and the treasure that opens, shall ne'r get 'i thy hands.” Said the large tree to the figures. “And there’s nought that thou causes me change mine mind.”\n“Stubborn tree.” The man said, turning to the others. “I've never seen anyone stand their ground for so long while being eaten away from the inside.”\nThe man turned to the tree, this being silent. “Are you still sure of this?” The man asked, stepping forward. “Think about your protege. What would happen to them? What will be of them if you’re gone?”\n“Thou suppose that that fate shall be ill. Yet a much worse fate is to befall on 'em would I accept to help thou.” The Deku Tree answered. “I won’t help thou get the sacred treasure.”\n“So be it.” Said the man, shrugging. “It’s your funeral.” He said, and the three figures left the plain, waving a hand to him. “Maybe it’s that you like playing with bugs. As far as I know, she loves playing with trees.”\nThe Deku Tree just waited to feel the three people disappear from the forest to make his move.\n“Navi… Navi, where art thou? Come hither…” Said the Deku Tree, then, a fairy of blue shine appeared as she flew close to its face.\n“Oh, Navi the fairy… Listen my words, the words of the Deku Tree…” The Deku Tree began to say to the fairy. “Dost thou sense it? The climate of evil descending upon this realm. Malevolent forces even now are mustering to attack our land of Hyrule. For so long, the Kokiri Forest, the source of life, has stood as a barrier, deterring outsiders and maintaining the order of the world. But… before this tremendous evil, even my power is as nothing. It seems the time has come for the boy without a fairy to begin his journey… The youth whose destiny it is to lead Hyrule to the path of justice and truth.”\nThe Deku tree fell silent for a moment. “Navi… go now! Find our young friend and guide him to me. I do not have much time left. Fly navi, fly! The fate of the forest, nay, the world, depends upon thee!”\nWith these worlds, the small fairy flew away from the Deku Tree, passing through the only passage possible to the Kokiri Forest, where she looked around desperately until she was able to find the house where the boy she needed to find was, a house over a tree, getting inside of it as fast as she could.\nInside the house, she spotted the young blonde Kokiri, floating over him.\n“Hello, Link! Wake up! The Great Deku Tree wants to talk to you! Link, get up!” The fairy called, but the young boy seemed to ignore her voice, still sleeping on his bed.\n“Hey! C’mon!” Navi begins to fly violently as she tries to wake him. “Can Hyrule’s destiny really depend on such a lazy boy?”\nAt the end, Link began to wake up, rubbing his eyes as he sat up, until he noted the small fairy in front of him.\n“You finally woke up! I’m Navi the fairy!” Navi presented herself while floating near him. “The Great Deku Tree asked me to be your partner from now on! Nice to meet you!”\nLink looked at the fairy in silence for a few seconds until he snapped. “You’re my fairy?!” He asked, surprised, leaning toward the fairy. “A-at last! A fairy has come to me!” The boy extended his hands trying to grab her, but she avoided his hands.\n“Hey, calm down! Don’t grab me like that!” Navi said. “I know you're excited to finally have a fairy, but now is not the time!”\nLink calmed down. He had good reasons to be excited at that moment. Except for two people, everyone in the Kokiri Forest had a guardian fairy. He was one of those two, the reason why some of them bullied him, using their fairies as a reason to make fun of him. He only had two people in the forest who took care of him and helped him when they bullied him.\nUntil now.\n“The Great Deku Tree has summoned you! So let’s get going… right now!” Navi said.\n“The Great Deku Tree is summoning me? Why?” Link asked, scratching his head, confused.\n“There’s no time for that! He will explain to you everything… now go!” The fairy said to him.\nNodding, Link jumped off the bed, moving out of the house. \nFrom the top of his house, Link could see the Kokiri Forest extending in front of him. Soon, he saw a Kokiri girl with green hair, a green sweater under her tunic, green shorts, and green boots running to his house, waving her hand when she stopped, a small pink fairy floating at her side.\n“Yahoo! Hi, Link!” The girl exclaimed with a smile.\n[Saria. Inhabitant of Kokiri Forest]\n“Hi, Saria!” Link exclaimed as he climbed down the stairs of his house until he got to the ground.\nThen Saria spotted the small fairy floating near Link.\n“Wow! A fairy! Finally, a fairy came to you, Link!” Saria exclaimed, amazed.\n“Yeah! No more no-fairy for me!” Link said proudly with his hands on his belt.\n“Wow! That’s great news! I’m so happy for you! Now you’re a true Kokiri, Link!” Saria said happily.\nSaria was one of Link’s only friends in the forest since he could remember. The two have been together playing in the forest, even when the other Kokiri made fun of him. But Saria’s smile was enough to make him forget these problems.\n“It’s that right? You have a fairy now?” Said a second female voice near them.\nLink and Saria looked to who spoke, seeing a Kokiri girl similarly clothed as Saria, but with her sleeves detached, her shoulders visible, and a green-haired ponytail. There were two predominant parts of her: The lack of a fairy, and her larger, head-size bust.\n“You wake up sooner, and a fairy comes to you? That’s what I call a lucky day, Link!” The busty Kokiri said with a smile.\n[Nyrava. Inhabitant of Kokiri Forest]\nNyrava is Link’s friend besides Saria, and the first Kokiri to not have a fairy, as far as he remembers. As she knew how to live without a guardian fairy surrounded by Kokiri with fairies, she behaved like an older sister for Link. Saria and Link have been friends with her from the beginning, and unlike the other Kokiris, the two of them were pretty used to Nyrava’s busty figure, and her ‘promiscuous peculiarity’...\n“If you say so.” Link said, rubbing his head. “I thought if either of us got a fairy, it would be you.”\n“Ah, worry not, Link! I’m happy you finally got a fairy!” Nyrava said, smiling, her arms crossed under her bust. “Now Mido and the others will probably leave you alone, as they'll have to focus their mockery on me. So enjoy the moment.”\n“When you say it like that, you make it sound worse.” Link said.\n“Don’t worry, Link. Before you came, she already knew how to deal with them. So calm down.” Saria said.\n“Sorry for interrupting, but we’re in a hurry!” Navi interrupted the conversation. “The Great Deku Tree is waiting for us!”\n“Is that right? The Great Deku Tree has summoned you?” Saria asked Link.\n“Then what are you doing here, talking with us?” Nyrava asked, slapping Link’s back. “Keep going! Don’t make the Great Deku Tree wait!”\nLink laughed weakly as he began to walk away, leaving the two girls behind, who began to talk to each other.\n\nLink rushed to the corridor that led to the Great Deku Tree’s plain, but just at the entrance, a Kokiri boy with orange hair, blue eyes, and brown spots under his eyes was facing the path, with a hand on his head.\n“Who were those adults? How did they get here? And why did they meet with the Great Deku Tree?” The Kokiri then turned around, spotting Link. “Oh, it’s you, ‘Mr. No Fairy’.” He said with a frown, crossing his arms.\n[Mido. Self-proclaimed leader of the Kokiri]\n“Hello, Mido…” Link deadpanned.\n“Okay, what’s your business with the Great Deku Tree?” Mido asked Link. “Without a fairy, you’re not even a real man, so forget it.”\nLink narrowed his eyes, soon signaling Navi floating at his side.\n“Excuse us, but the Great Deku Tree has summoned Link, so I have to take him there,” Navi said.\n“What?! You’ve got a fairy?!” Mido asked, surprised, but then shook his head when he processed what the fairy said. “Say what? The Great Deku Tree actually summoned you? Whaaaaaaat?!”\n“Yes, that’s right.” Link answered, but inside himself, he was proud of Mido’s reaction.\n“Why would he summon you and not the great Mido?” Mido asked him, offended. “This isn’t funny… I don’t believe it! You aren’t even fully equipped yet!”\n“What do you mean by that?” Link asked.\n“Messing with Link again, Mido?”\nLink turned around, seeing Saria and Nyrava walking to where he and Mido were standing.\n“You again, Nyrava? This isn’t one of your business!” Mido said, facing the busty Kokiri.\n“What are you doing here?” Link asked.\n“I had a suspicion that Mido would do something, and I was right,” Nyrava said.\n“Mido, why don't you allow Link to go to meet the Great Deku Tree? Do you even know how important it is?” Saria asked Mido.\n“I’m sorry, but as he goes, I can’t allow him to pass!” Mido said. “How do you think Link’s going to help the Great Deku Tree without both a sword and a shield ready?”\n“Seriously, Mido.” Nyrava huffed. “One of these days I’m gonna-”\n“STUPID PACK OF IDIOTS! IF I GET MY HANDS ON THEM…”\nThe four Kokiri, like the rest of the Kokiri in the forest, jolted at the yells, which were heard through the whole forest.\n“What was that?” Link asked.\n“It looks like it comes from the Lost Woods’ entrance,” Saria said.\nWhen Link, Saria, and Nyrava leaned closer to look for the spot where one could enter the Lost Woods, they spotted a young girl of the same height as them, of dark skin, red hair, yellow eyes, wearing red armor plates, black clothes, and holding a halberd adapted to her height with one hand.\n“Seriously, even being monsters, they could have some sense of direction! Getting lost in this forest…” The girl huffed as she walked the path down until spotting Link and the others looking at her. Narrowing her eyes, the girl looked at them. “What are you looking at?!”\nThe trio simply looked at the girl going down the path, until they looked at each other.\n“Ignore her,” Navi said. “We must convince Mido to allow Link to see the Great Deku Tree.”\n“That’s right. I’ll see if I can convince him to let Link pass. Doubt he does it even if he’s fully equipped and prepared.” Saria said, going back with Mido.\n“Well, we will have to get the sword and shield,” Nyrava said to Link, crossing her arms. “We can get the shield easily, but the sword is a different story.”\n“Are you sure?” Link asked.\nThe two entered the only shop in the Kokiri Forest, asking the seller for any shield he could have.\n“A shield, you say?” The Kokiri asked, beginning to look between some boxes. “I think I have one there, but I have no idea where I placed it.”\nLink and Nyrava looked at each other for a moment as the Kokiri seller kept looking between the boxes, which seemed to take him a while.\n“Aha! I found it!” The Kokiri vendor exclaimed as he raised over his head a wood-made shield with a symbol on it, taking it to the counter. “A Deku Shield! The last one I have. Made with fallen bark from the Great Deku Tree. Much more resistant than it looks!”\n“Good. How much does it cost?” Link asked.\n“Well, a Deku Shield in perfect shape… It will be 120 rupees.” The Kokiri vendor said with a smile.\n“O-one hundred and twenty?!” Link and Nyrava exclaimed in shock at the excessive price.\n“Yes, that’s the price. Take it or leave it.” The shopkeeper said.\nLink began to look at his money bag with a worried face. “At most I have 50 rupees…”\n“And why don't you have more?” Navi asked.\n“Never knew this could be so expensive!” Link argued with the fairy.\n“Come on, you can’t give us a cheaper price?” Nyrava asked, jumping on the counter and dropping her huge bust on it in front of the Kokiri vendor with a teasing smile. “Please with a cherry on top?”\n“Oh my, here we go.” Link put a hand on his head with a tired face.\n“Well, umm…” The Kokiri shopkeeper looked away from her while scratching his nose nervously with a blush. “Well, if you ask me like that... I think I can get it down to 80 rupees.”\n“That’s still too expensive for a shield!” Link exclaimed.\n“Oh, please, sure, I can do something for you in exchange for a cheaper price.” The busty Kokiri said now with a sultry smile, making the shopkeeper more tense.\n“40 rupees? Is that the best we could get?” Link asked as they were out of the shop, with the Deku Shield on his back.\n“Well, I've done the best I could think of,” Nyrava said, walking at his side with her hands behind her head.\n“Seriously, you’re the weirdest Kokiri I've ever met,” Navi said to Nyrava.\n“Yeah, you’re right. But seriously, what's going on in his head?” Link asked. “Being the only store in the forest does not give you the right to charge such exorbitant prices.”\n“Yes, sometimes I don't know why he opened a store that sells things we can find in the forest,” Nyrava commented.\n“And yet you still keep buying arrows from him every day.” Link commented.\n“Gotcha,” Nyrava admitted.\n“Well, now we must get the sword.” Link said.\n“Yeah, and that’s the problem. We only have one sword here right now.” Nyrava said.\n“The Kokiri Sword.” Link muttered.\n“Exactly. And there’s only a place where one might get that sword.” Nyrava said, signaling where they were entering. \nThis place was a plot with wooden fences that delimited flowerbeds with plants and rocks in them.\n“The Forest Training Center.” Link said.\n“Yeah, and you have to go through the Maze of L to get the sword,” Nyrava said as they reached a small hole in the wall. “From here, you must go alone. I would follow you but…” She hugged herself, squeezing from down her bust. “The very narrow passages, and I don't get along well.”\n“I guess so,” Navi commented.\nLink entered the hole with Navi. Passing through the tunnel, he reached the inner part of the Maze of L, where the only principal problem there would be a large stone rolling through the corridor nonstop in circles. Link just had to move behind the rock as he rolled, until reaching the other side, where he spotted a large chest.\nSuggesting that the sword might be there, he opened the large chest, but when he looked inside, his face went white.\n“W-what?!” Navi asked in shock.\nAfter a few minutes, Link returned to Nyrava, who was waiting for him.\n“Well? You got the sword?” Nyrava asked with a smile, but after seeing Link’s depressed face, her expression changed to a worried one. “What happened?”\n“There was no sword,” Navi said.\n“What?! No sword?!” The busty Kokiri asked.\n“But this was in place instead.” Link gave Nyrava a small paper note, which she read loudly.\n“This treasure is now the property of the Monster Child. Toodles~!” Nyrava read it, lowering the note. “We have a thief here?”\n“But Kokiri have no reason to steal their own beloved relic.” Link said. “Nor Mido can get so low only to mess with me.”\n“Yeah, no one would,” Nyrava said. “Unless…”\n“Hey, didn't a girl just walk into the woods recently?” Navi said.\nLink and Nyrava looked at each other, knowing what she meant, and soon began to run very fast.\n\n“Hey, you!”\nThe red-haired girl, who was leaning against a wall close to Link’s house, was looking at his house when she heard Link’s voice and turned her head to see both him and Nyrava approaching her.\n“You, outsider! We have to talk!” Nyrava said angrily.\n“And what exactly do you want to talk about?” The girl asked.\n“You’re the owner of this thing?” Nyrava asked her, showing the note Link got on the maze’s chest.\n“And?” She asked them.\n“Look! Who are you, and why did you steal the Kokiri Sword?” Navi asked her.\n“Well, the note says it all.” The girl shrugged, facing the two Kokiri. “But if you really need a name, the name’s Ganalia.”\n[Ganalia. The Monster Child]\n“Okay, Ganalia. Why did you steal the Kokiri Sword?” Link asked.\nThe girl simply shrugged.\n“I thought there was something valuable there, so I took it,” Ganalia said. “But I didn't expect it to be a simple blade. It could have been something more valuable because of the huge rolling rock that was there.”\n“That ‘simple blade’ is a beloved relic of our people! You're nothing but a miserable thief!” Link exclaimed.\n“And what? This is how I was raised. Besides, one has to live off what one can.” Ganalia countered.\n“Stop making excuses! We're in a hurry, so hand over the sword immediately!” Navi said.\n“If you really do that so badly,” Ganalia said, taking the Kokiri Sword, a small sword with a wooden handle, showing it to them. But when Link was about to take it, she pulled it away. “200 rupees.”\n“What?! 200 rupees?!” Link exclaimed.\n“You want this sword? Pay 200 rupees for it.” Ganalia smiled nastily.\n“We have no time for this! The Great Deku Tree needs us with him now!” Navi said.\n“So you’re in a hurry, right? Then I might give it to you… for 600 rupees~.”\n“This is nonsense!” Navi said, exasperated.\n“Now, give me back the sword right now!” Link jumped over her.\nSuddenly, Ganalia used the stick of her halberd to sweep Link’s legs to make him fall on the ground, aiming his head with the bladed head of her weapon, all done with only one hand.\n“You should know by now that attacking someone without a weapon is a very bad idea, kid,” Ganalia said, keeping him down.\nNyrava just thought for a moment. “Might you wait a moment?” She asked, before running from the place, leaving a confused Link and Ganalia on the spot.\nAfter a few minutes, Nyrava returned with a bag in hand and handed it to the girl. Link also noted she was wearing at her side a small quiver and a disassembled bow on her back. When Ganalia took the bag and opened it, her eyes widened seeing the contents of it, which she took from it, revealing 3 golden rupees.\n“3 golden rupees? Seriously?!” Ganalia asked, surprised. “But what kid has that much money?”\n“We’re not kids. We’re Kokiri.” Nyrava replied. “Well, that’s enough?”\nGanalia raised an eyebrow, looking at her and the three golden rupees, before taking them.\n“Okay, here’s your sword.” The girl said, handing the Kokiri Sword to Link.\n“Thanks! Finally…” Link said as he took the Kokiri Sword, looking now at Nyrava. “How’s that you had three golden rupees?”\n“One has her methods.” Nyrava shrugged with a smile.\n“Maybe I should have visited your house before, cowkiri.” Ganalia said as she weighed the rupees in her hand.\n“First, you should have known where I hid it,” Nyrava said, looking at Link, who stood up from the ground. “Come on, the Great Deku Tree awaits you.”\n“Right.” Link nodded as they began to move away, while the thief girl looked at them.\n“By the way, you took your bow in case she got too stubborn even after paying her?” Link asked Nyrava.\n“Well, you know me. Better safe than sorry,” Nyrava replied.\n\nWhen Link and Nyrava reached the access to the path to the Great Deku Tree, they saw that, for some reason, Mido and Saria weren’t there.\n“Funny. Where are Saria and Mido?” Link asked.\n“The most sure thing is that they went with the Great Deku Tree to finally convince Mido,” Nyrava suggested.\n“Anyway, let’s use this chance to move before he returns to block the way,” Navi suggested.\nThe two began to pass through the corridor until they were surprised by a long plant with a bulbous head and a large mouth.\n“A Deku Baba, here?!” Navi exclaimed, seeing the monster.\nThe Deku Baba lunged at them, trying to bite them, but the monster’s stem stopped it midway, retracting to its original position.\n“Don’t worry, it will not attack if we stay out of its range,” Navi said.\n“Yeah, but that thing is just in the middle!” Nyrava said to the fairy.\n“And maybe Saria and Mido might be in trouble if more of these things appeared!” Link said, getting both the shield and the Kokiri Sword, preparing to fight.\n“You’re going to fight it?” Navi asked Link. “In that case, we might use this as a self-defense class. Just be wary. Some monsters are not so mindless as to attack while you have the shield present. You just have to wait for the moment to defend yourself.”\nLink slowly approached the Deku Baba until the monster plant prepared to attack as he got close enough. The Deku Baba lunged at Link, but he quickly put his shield in the way in time, the head hitting himself with the shield, getting stunned and stiffening straight upward.\n“Perfect! Now that the Deku Baba is stiffened, attack with the Kokiri Sword!” Navi said to Link. “Don't hold back. Hit with all your might!”\nLink then rushed to the Deku Baba and slashed the stem with the sword, cutting it in half and making the plant fall dead to the ground.\n“Well done, Link!” Navi said as Link panted.\n“Looks like those self-defense classes didn't go so badly for you after all,” Nyrava commented with a hand on her head. “You can thank the Great Deku Tree for them later.”\n“Come on, let’s go!” Link said, beginning to advance.\nBut only after advancing a few steps, they were ambushed this time by two Deku Babas blocking their way.\n“Now two? This is getting worse than I thought!” Navi said.\n“Come on! Get out of the way!” Link said, preparing to fight the two Deku Babas, but the two monsters were too close to each other to attack them one by one.\n“It seems there’s no other option,” Nyrava said as she took her mountable bow and quickly mounted it, forming a short-sized shortbow.\nShe took an arrow from her side quiver and aimed it at one of the Deku Babas, and with only one shot, she took it down.\n“Whoa! Nice shot!” Navi exclaimed at Nyrava’s shot.\n“That’s nothing. I can aim further.” The busty Kokiri said proudly.\nLink used the chance to use the same tactic to take down the remaining Deku Baba, leaving the path open.\n“Come on, quickly!” Link said before he began to run.\nThe two ran through the path as fast as they could until they heard a voice ahead.\n“It can't be!”\nIt was Mido’s voice.\nThe two finally reached the plain where the Deku Tree resided, where they could see Saria and Mido looking at the tree.\n“Seriously! How is this happening?! Why is the Great Deku Tree in such bad shape!” Mido exclaimed as he was in shock.\n“I know they are in a hurry. But I never thought it was because of this!” Saria said, looking at the tree with her hands on her mouth.\nAs they expressed, the Great Deku Tree, even when it was prominent, showed clear signs of weakening, with some of its leaves wilted.\nNavi passed flying at their side, startling the two Kokiri, soon turning around to see Link and Nyrava there in silence.\n“Oh… Navi… Thou hast returned…” The Great Deku Tree began to talk, making everyone look at it. “Link… Welcome… Listen carefully to what I, the Deku Tree, am about to tell thee…”\nLink gulped when the Deku Tree said those words.\n“Thy slumber these past moons must have been restless and full of nightmares… As the servants of evil gain strength, a vile climate pervades the land and causes nightmares to those sensitive to it… Verily, hou hast felt it…”\nSaria and Nyrava stared at Link when they heard that. This was the first news they got about that..\n“So that’s why you were so sleepy these days, right?” Nyrava asked.\n“Link… the time has come to test thy courage…” The Deku Tree continued, getting the glare of everyone. “I have been cursed… I need thee to break the curse with thy wisdom and courage.” Everyone gasped when they heard the Deku Tree’s words. “Dost thou have courage enough to undertake this task?”\n“Wait, Great Deku Tree.” Saria interrupted. “But what exactly does he have to do?”\n“He and Navi must needs enter within, and lay waste to the fount of this curse that hath befallen me.” The Deku Tree replied.\n“What?! Great Deku Tree, you can’t be serious!” Mido exclaimed. “Allow him to enter inside you?!”\n“He’s right!” Saria said.\n“Thanks.” Mido thanked Saria.\n“Do you expect him to enter alone inside of you?” Saria asked. “We don’t know what he can find there.”\n“Hey!” Mido looked at Saria for a moment.\n“Besides, why has to be Link? Is there no one else who can do it?” Saria asked.\n“Saria.” Nyrava interrupted Saria. “The Great Deku Tree has chosen Link for this task, and his word is law. Besides, we’re forbidden to ask for aid for people outside the forest unless he says so.”\n“I know, but still,” Saria said, holding her arm with a hand looking down.\n“Dang it. This must be some kind of bad jest.” Mido said, sulking and tapping the ground with his feet.\nLink passed them and approached the Deku Tree.\n“Great Deku Tree, I’ll do it.” Link said, shocking everyone. He turned to them. “The Great Deku Tree is in trouble, and for some reason, he’s asking me to help him. I don’t know why, but I can’t reject his plea.” After these words, he turned to the Deku Tree.\n“Then enter, brave Link… and thou too, Navi.” The Deku Tree said as he began to open his mouth widely, turning into an entrance. “Navi the fairy… Thou must aid Link… thou shall offer the knowledge thee need.”\nLink prepared himself to enter the Deku Tree while looking at the entrance.\n“Hold on,” Nyrava said before Link could make a step inside, walking to him. “I’m coming with you.” The others turned to the busty Kokiri just as she stopped at Link’s side. “You will need help inside there.”\n“Are you sure?” Saria asked her.\n“Of course! I’m not going to leave my little brother to venture into the wolfos’ den alone.” Nyrava said, raising the thumb.\n“I doubt you'll get very far, to be honest.”\nEveryone turned to the person who spoke, spotting the girl Ganalia there, leaning against a wall and playing with a rupee with her fingers.\n“Hey! What are you doing here?! No outsiders can be here!” Mido exclaimed, pointing at the girl.\n“Why do you say they won’t get very far?” Saria asked.\n“Well, the Cowkiri seems to be fairly capable.” Ganalia began to say, looking at the busty Kokiri, just when Mido laughed softly, thinking to himself about not thinking in using that term with Nyrava before. “But the boy is another story. I knocked him down earlier like it was nothing.”\n“Only because you surprised me and had no weapon!” Link said to her.\n“Say what you want, kid.” Ganalia shrugged. “But maybe I can help you, for a good price, of course.”\n“What do you want?” Nyrava asked her.\n“Before you gave me three golden rupees. Maybe with ten more, I can be your bodyguard.” Ganalia offered.\n“What? I don’t have that much!” Nyrava exclaimed.\n“Nor you nor anyone in the forest.” Link said.\n“And it is rumored that you are the richest in the forest,” Mido said to the busty Kokiri with his arms crossed.\n“Well, if you’re not going to pay me, then I’m leaving.” Ganalia turned around. “I have nothing else to gain in this forest.”\nSaria thought for a moment before extending her hand to the girl.\n“Wait!” Saria called her. “Inside the Great Deku Tree. There are treasures that only the Great Deku Tree holds. If you help Link and Nyrava, you can keep them.”\n“Saria?!” Mido asked in shock. “Giving those treasures to her?!”\nGanalia turned her head, looking at the female Kokiri. “All the treasure? No matter what they are?” She asked, raising an eyebrow.\n“Yes.” Saria nodded to her, her hands crossed. “But only if Link and Nyrava get out alive after saving the Great Deku Tree.”\nThe self-called Monster Child thought for a moment before smiling.\n“Okay, guys!” Ganalia said as she spun her halberd with her hand, before hitting the ground with it. “You got your bodyguard!”\nLink and Nyrava simply frowned as they crossed their arms, looking at her.\n“This is a bad idea…” Navi simply said.\n“Come on, guys,” Ganalia said as she walked past them. “We have a tree to save.”\nThe two rolled their eyes as all of them entered the Deku Tree.\n\nAfter getting inside, the group found itself in what seemed like the inside of a temple made of wood instead of stone.\n“I saw the inside of many trees, but never saw one like this one,” Ganalia said as she looked around.\n“Well, this is the first time we’re inside the Great Deku Tree.” Link said.\n“But many parts of this place seem unnatural,” Nyrava said. “Many of the walls seem to have been gnawed by something huge.”\n“Gnawed? Better said, devoured from the inside!” Navi exclaimed. “And for your information, the thing that made all this is inside the Great Deku Tree!”\n“She’s right. We must find it as soon as possible.” Link said.\n“And from where must we begin the search?” Ganalia asked.\nBoth Link and Nyrava looked around, soon signaling opposite directions, making Ganalia facepalm herself.\n“This will take longer than I thought,” Ganalia muttered.\nShe walked a few steps until she felt how her movement was slightly restrained, and when she looked down, she made a disgusted face.\n“Argh, Skulltulas…” Ganalia said, looking down at the cobweb where she was standing. “I really hate those things.”\n“Skulltulas? Here?” Nyrava asked, looking around.\n“I think I found them.” Link signaled to the walls, where they spotted dozens of spiders with skull-shaped shells walking on the walls. “Never saw so many in one place. Do you think they’re the source of the curse?”\n“I doubt it. Skulltulas are more opportunistic than other things, using any kind of dark place as their home. They don’t have the power to put something like the Great Deku Tree like this, even if there are lots of them.” Navi said.\n“So you mean that the source of the problem is worse?” Ganalia said. “That doesn't rule out many things on the list, looking up.”\nNyrava looked up for a moment before looking down, seeing a shadow move fast below the cobweb.\n“Hey! I think I saw something down there!” The busty Kokiri exclaimed, signaling down.\nLink, Ganalia, and Navi looked down too, but they didn’t see anything.\n“Are you sure of it?” Link asked. “I don’t see anything from there.”\n“But what I see is water,” Ganalia said. “If we can’t find a clue here, we might find something down there. The question is how to pass this cobweb.” She then looked around. “Somebody has something to make a fire?”\n“What?! You’re planning to use fire here?! Are you crazy or something?!” Navi asked her.\n“Hey, calm down, fairy! It's just a suggestion!” Ganalia said, raising her hands.\n“Maybe if we throw something heavy from a high place, we might break the cobweb.” Link suggested.\n“Well…” Nyrava looked up. “We have nothing to do down here, so it's better to begin climbing and see if we can get some clues up there.”\n“With those Skulltulas on the walls? They will rush to us the second we get close to them.” Ganalia warned them.\n“Do you think I have this only for show?” Nyrava said, holding her bow in front of her.\n“We can get to the upper floor without problems. The Skulltulas are patrolling the way to the top floor.” Link said, looking up and then seeing a ledge that extended up to where the cobweb was. “Let me test something.”\nLink climbed to the upper floor through some ladders on a side as the girls looked at him. When Link got to the ledge’s border, he looked down for a moment before jumping down, scaring the girls as they saw him fall on the cobweb, Ganalia moving out of the cobweb. When he landed there, the cobweb was lowered by Link's weight, but it wasn't enough to break it.\n“What were you thinking?!” Navi asked him. “Is it that you want to kill yourself?!”\n“Calm down, fairy. The boy had an idea.” Ganalia said. “But I doubt we'll break it with the three of us. We need to do it at a higher height.”\n“Well, let's go up then.” Link said.\nThe three soon climbed to the upper floor, reaching a wall with lots of vines that would allow them to climb, but also some Skulltullas wandering on the wall, making it dangerous to climb it.\n“Okay, let’s get this done.” Nyrava prepared her bow, aiming at the monsters.\nBut then Ganalia pulled her shirt as she looked to the other side.\n“What’s there?” Ganalia asked as she signaled what seemed to be a door on the same floor.\n“Who cares? We have things to do!” Link said.\nGanalia then put an arm behind Link’s neck with a mischievous grin. “You forgot what your friend said? She said that if I help you, all the treasures we got here will be mine. So I’m not going to leave any place until we get all the treasures we can get, understood?”\nLink looked nervously at her before looking at Nyrava and Navi.\n“I don't think we have any say in this situation,” Navi said.\nWith no more options, the group walked and passed through the door, soon getting into a large room with a small pit with ladders leading up to a platform ahead, and a floating platform between the entrance and the platform. But the most important thing was the chest that seemed to be there.\n“Okay, who smells a trap here?” Ganalia asked.\nLink looked around at the platform, but then he jumped on the floating platform, and from it rushed to jump to the stable platform before the floating one fell to the ground.\n“Not bad! But now, how will you get back here? There are no ladders to get up here!” Ganalia asked. “Besides that, what’s in the chest?”\nLink looked at the chest and opened it, getting from inside what seemed to be a slingshot.\n“What?! A slingshot?!” Ganalia asked, shocked. “There’s nothing else inside?”\n“No, just a few Deku Seeds,” Link replied, taking the seeds with a hand.\n“This is a joke! A scam! When I catch that brat, I'm going to…” Ganalia spoke angrily.\n“Hey, this is the Fairy Slingshot! It’s one of the Great Deku Tree’s treasures, so calm down already!” Navi exclaimed.\n“Just let it be, okay?” Nyrava said.\n“Yeah, maybe there are more treasures inside. Just be patient.” Navi said. She wasn't a fan of the idea, but if that way, they might keep her close and visible…\n“Okay, you see something from there?” Nyrava asked him.\nLink began to look around until he spotted something over the girls. “Hey! I found a ladder just over there!”\nThe two leaned toward looking up, seeing the ladder, which was stuck with cobwebs.\n“Okay, sadly, I can’t hit it from here. You must use the slingshot from there.” Nyrava said.\n“And how?” Link asked.\nGanalia crossed her hands, shaking her head. “Why don't you go down and do it from there?” She asked the busty Kokiri.\n“No, he should learn how to use it,” Nyrava said to her before looking at Link. “Just hold the slingshot firmly with one hand, and with your good hand, pull the string as far as you can, aiming for the ladder. And when you get a good aim, leave the string loose.”\nLink nodded and held the slingshot with his right hand, and pulled the string with a seed using his left hand as much as he could. Remembering how Nyrava used her bow, he began to aim the ladder with the slingshot until he was sure he could hit it. Then he dropped the string, effectively shooting the seed to the ladder.\nWhen the seed hit the ladder, it shook for a moment before falling, landing in the perfect place so it could be used to reach the entrance zone.\n“Well done, Link!” Nyrava exclaimed.\n“For his first shot, he didn't do too badly,” Ganalia commented.\nLink quickly used the ladder to return with the girls, handing the Fairy Slingshot to Ganalia.\n“I think this is yours.” Link said, but Ganallia pushed it away to Link.\n“Keep it. I have no interest in such a toy.” Ganalia said, looking to another side.\n“Hey! The Fairy Slingshot isn’t a toy!” Navi exclaimed.\n“Then better. I can put it to better use.” Linki said.\nThe three returned to the vine path with the Skulltulas blocking the way, and with Nyrava’s help, Link began to get better use of the slingshot as he took down the Skulltulas that were there. And now with the path free, the three began to climb the vines to the upper floor, where they found another place from which to jump to the cobweb on the first floor.\nBut as Link approached the ledge, a large Skulltula hanging on a spider thread descended violently from the ceiling, almost hitting Link, who jumped away.\n“That’s what I call a large Skulltula!” Nyrava asked.\nLink got his sword and attacked the Skulltula, but the sword bounced on the Skulltula’s shell, and the monster swung backward and forward, tackling Link with the movement and falling on his butt.\n“Link! Are you okay?” Nyrava asked.\n“Yeah, but I’m not doing that again.” Link groaned with a hand on his head.\n“Link, the Skulltula has a hard external shell, immune to attacks unless using something with enough penetrating power,” Navi said.\n“Then let’s do this.” Nyrava prepared her bow.\n“I doubt it could work. Your small bow has no power enough to penetrate a Skulltulla’s shell of this size. Might work with the ones of smaller size, but not with this one.” Navi said.\n“And how do we get this thing out of the way?” Link asked as he stood up.\n“His only weak point is its underbelly, but for that, we must force it to spin around!” Navi said.\n“Then leave it to me,” Ganalia said, approaching her halberd using the weapon’s head to hold the Skulltula’s shell. “Just wait!”\nGanalia pulled the halberd to herself, making the arachnid monster spin around itself. After the monster stopped spinning, the Skulltula had its underbelly facing them, a chance that Ganalia used to impale the monster with her weapon, making it fall to the ground dead.\n“Nice move!” Navi said.\n“Nothing, one who learns tricks as one grows up,” Ganalia said, looking at the duo arrogantly. “Something you will never do.”\n“We can keep on, please?” Link asked as he walked to the ledge.\nHe looked down from the ledge, seeing how tall they were at this moment.\n“If we miscalculate, we crash into the ground.” Link said, looking at the tree’s base.\n“Come on, don’t tell me you’re scared already,” Ganalia said to him.\n“Don’t worry, you will be fine,” Navi said.\n“Says the one who can fly,” Nyrava said, annoying Navi a little.\n“Come on, let’s do this,” Ganalia said.\nAfter a few seconds of hesitation, the three jumped from the ledge, getting into the centre of the cobweb, which was pushed down by their weight and the fall, which was enough to break it and make them fall into the basement, ending in the water that was below them.\nThe three swam up to get their heads out of the water, breathing loudly.\n“Well, that was pretty fun,” Nyrava said.\n“Say that for yourself,” Ganalia said.\n“Okay, let’s get out of the water and keep looking, okay?” Link said to the girls.\nAfter getting out of the water, the group continued walking through any path they could find in their search, going out of their way to search for any treasure they could find to please Ganalia, and dealing with any Deku Baba or Skulltula that got in their way. They kept that way until they reached a large empty room.\n“Funny, nothing here?” Ganalia said.\nThe three began to walk, but then, without any warning, small bipedal bugs with a large eye each one began to fall around them and surround the group.\n“What are those things?” Nyrava asked, preparing her bow.\n“Gohma Larvae, here?!” Navi exclaimed.\n“What? Gohma?” Link asked.\nOne of the Gohma Larvae jumped at Link, but he was able to avoid it and slashed it with his sword. Nyrava began to shoot arrows from her bow against several of the bug monsters, as Ganalia impaled and cut a good number of them. Despite being numerous, the three were able to get rid of the Gohma Larvae.\n“Okay, can somebody tell me what those things are?” Nyrava asked.\n“Those are Gohma Larvae, the progenies of a Gohma, a monster related to the Tektites,” Navi explained. “This number here means that a Gohma is the cause of the problem.”\n“So, if we kill the Gohma, we save the Great Deku Tree, right?” Link asked.\n“That would be the idea. But we don't know how much damage it has caused to the Great Deku Tree.” Navi said. “And the way things are around us, the damage may be too severe.”\n“Then we must find it now!” Link began to run, but Ganalia stopped him.\n“Not so fast, boy. It's better to go slowly and carefully than to rush. Who knows what awaits us ahead?” Ganalia said to him. “And you won’t be able to save anybody if you’re dead.”\nLink thought for a moment, looking down, before looking at her. “Yes, you’re right.”\n“Okay, then let’s go. The Great Deku Tree might not have much time.” Navi said.\n“What was just said about rushing?” Nyrava said.\nThe group followed the path they had in front of them, constantly encountering monsters getting in the way of the group, until they reached a large place with a sealed door at the end.\n“Great, that door is sealed,” Navi said. “And it seems that this room and the one behind it are the only places we didn’t look.”\n“Then tell me how we open that door.” Link said.\nSuddenly, from the roof fell another monster in the middle of the room. This monster was nothing like the ones they found before, as this thing seemed something like a huge rhino beetle with large armored arms standing on its four bug-like legs.\n“Navi, what’s that thing?” Link asked, unsheathing his sword.\n“I… I have no idea!” Navi replied. “It’s the first time I've seen a monster like that!”\n“What? You don’t know what that thing is?” Nyrava asked.\nThe large beetle rushed forward, forcing the group to move away to avoid its attack. Nyrava began to shoot arrows at the large but, but the arrows bounced when hitting the armored hide. The monster turned to her and jumped forward, landing in front of her and raising its arms to hit her, but she was quick enough to avoid the attack.\nAs the insect monster began to move around searching for its victim, Ganalia attempted to use a Deku Nut on the ground. The flash caused by the object blinded the monster, making it shake violently before charging forward to Ganalia, but she was able to avoid it, while the beetle monster crashed against the wall, getting dizzy by the impact and falling on its back, struggling to stand up.\n“Let’s take this chance! Now!” Ganalia exclaimed.\nShe and Link rushed to the monster and began to hit the exposed belly with the halberd and the Kokiri sword, seeing that it was softer compared to the rest of the monster’s body. But despite their effort, the bug monster was able to stand up, flailing its arms and horn to hit anybody near it.\nGanalia thought of using the same trick with the monster, tossing another Deku Nut. But when the object flashed, the monster covered its head, blocking the flash from its eyes. Then the monster rushed toward Ganalia and Link, the two jumping to different sides to avoid the tackle.\n“Hey, bug brain! Come here!” Link called the monster after having an idea.\nThe bug monster began advancing toward Link, the arms protecting the head from Link’s seeds thrown by his slingshot, while Nyrava kept shooting at it with her bow from a distance.\nWhen the monster was close enough to Link, it raised its arms ready to strike him, but the monster fell into his trap. Link was quick enough to throw a Deku Nut he had thrown against the ground, flashing the area with the hit, blinding the monster, who fell again in a frenzy, before charging forward and being avoided by Link, hitting the wall hard and falling on its back.\nUsing the chance, Link charged and jumped over the monster, stabbing the monster’s belly with the Kokiri Sword as deeply as he could. With the sword impaled in its belly, the bug monster shook violently before falling inert on the ground.\nLink jumped from the dead monster, panting hard.\n“Are you okay, Link?” Navi asked Link.\n“Yeah, I’m fine…” Link replied.\nGanalia and Nyrava approached Link, keeping an eye on the dead monster.\n“Where did this thing come from?” Nyrava asked.\n“I don't know, but it's clear that whoever left it here didn't want us to get close to the source of the curse,” Navi said.\n“I once heard stories... rumors about people creating monsters from other animals,” Ganalia said. “They all seemed like horror stories to me. Until now.”\nJust then, the sealed door opened, getting the group’s attention.\n“Anyway, we must continue.” Link said.\nThe group soon crossed the door, ending up in a wide room with four large pillars that reached to the ceiling, all covered in cobwebs. But they didn’t see anything inside the room. The group walked around the room in search of anything. And it seemed there were no more ways to continue.\n“Okay. “Well, we will have to get the sword and shield,” Nyrava said to Link, crossing her arms. “We can get the shield easily, but the sword is a different story.”
“Are you sure?” Link asked.
The two entered the only shop in the Kokiri Forest, asking the seller for any shield he could have.
“A shield, you say?” The Kokiri asked, beginning to look between some boxes. “I think I have one there, but I have no idea where I placed it.”
Link and Nyrava looked at each other for a moment as the Kokiri seller kept looking between the boxes, which seemed to take him a while.
“Aha! I found it!” The Kokiri vendor exclaimed as he raised over his head a wood-made shield with a symbol on it, taking it to the counter. “A Deku Shield! The last one I have. Made with fallen bark from the Great Deku Tree. Much more resistant than it looks!”
“Good. How much does it cost?” Link asked.

“Maybe I should have visited your house before, cowkiri.” Ganalia said as she weighed the rupees in her hand.
“First, you should have known where I hid it,” Nyrava said, looking at Link, who stood up from the ground. “Come on, the Great Deku Tree awaits you.”
“Right.” Link nodded as they began to move away, while the thief girl looked at them.
“By the way, you took your bow in case she got too stubborn even after paying her?” Link asked Nyrava.
“Well, you know me. Better safe than sorry,” Nyrava replied.

When Link and Nyrava reached the access to the path to the Great Deku Tree, they saw that, for some reason, Mido and Saria weren’t there.
“Funny. Where are Saria and Mido?” Link asked.
“The most sure thing is that they went with the Great Deku Tree to finally convince Mido,” Nyrava suggested.
“Anyway, let’s use this chance to move before he returns to block the way,” Navi suggested.
The two began to pass through the corridor until they were surprised by a long plant with a bulbous head and a large mouth.
“A Deku Baba, here?!” Navi exclaimed, seeing the monster.
The Deku Baba lunged at them, trying to bite them, but the monster’s stem stopped it midway, retracting to its original position.
“Don’t worry, it will not attack if we stay out of its range,” Navi said.
“Yeah, but that thing is just in the middle!” Nyrava said to the fairy.
“And maybe Saria and Mido might be in trouble if more of these things appeared!” Link said, getting both the shield and the Kokiri Sword, preparing to fight.
“You’re going to fight it?” Navi asked Link. “In that case, we might use this as a self-defense class. Just be wary. Some monsters are not so mindless as to attack while you have the shield present. You just have to wait for the moment to defend yourself.”
Link slowly approached the Deku Baba until the monster plant prepared to attack as he got close enough. The Deku Baba lunged at Link, but he quickly put his shield in the way in time, the head hitting himself with the shield, getting stunned and stiffening straight upward.
“Perfect! Now that the Deku Baba is stiffened, attack with the Kokiri Sword!” Navi said to Link. “Don't hold back. Hit with all your might!”
Link then rushed to the Deku Baba and slashed the stem with the sword, cutting it in half and making the plant fall dead to the ground.
“Well done, Link!” Navi said as Link panted.
“Looks like those self-defense classes didn't go so badly for you after all,” Nyrava commented with a hand on her head. “You can thank the Great Deku Tree for them later.”
“Come on, let’s go!” Link said, beginning to advance.
But only after advancing a few steps, they were ambushed this time by two Deku Babas blocking their way.
“Now two? This is getting worse than I thought!” Navi said.
“Come on! Get out of the way!” Link said, preparing to fight the two Deku Babas, but the two monsters were too close to each other to attack them one by one.
“It seems there’s no other option,” Nyrava said as she took her mountable bow and quickly mounted it, forming a short-sized shortbow.
She took an arrow from her side quiver and aimed it at one of the Deku Babas, and with only one shot, she took it down.
“Whoa! Nice shot!” Navi exclaimed at Nyrava’s shot.
“That’s nothing. I can aim further.” The busty Kokiri said proudly.
Link used the chance to use the same tactic to take down the remaining Deku Baba, leaving the path open.
“Come on, quickly!” Link said before he began to run.
The two ran through the path as fast as they could until they heard a voice ahead.
“It can't be!”
It was Mido’s voice.
The two finally reached the plain where the Deku Tree resided, where they could see Saria and Mido looking at the tree.
“Seriously! How is this happening?! Why is the Great Deku Tree in such bad shape!” Mido exclaimed as he was in shock.
“I know they are in a hurry. But I never thought it was because of this!” Saria said, looking at the tree with her hands on her mouth.
As they expressed, the Great Deku Tree, even when it was prominent, showed clear signs of weakening, with some of its leaves wilted.
Navi passed flying at their side, startling the two Kokiri, soon turning around to see Link and Nyrava there in silence.
“Oh… Navi… Thou hast returned…” The Great Deku Tree began to talk, making everyone look at it. “Link… Welcome… Listen carefully to what I, the Deku Tree, am about to tell thee…”
Link gulped when the Deku Tree said those words.
“Thy slumber these past moons must have been restless and full of nightmares… As the servants of evil gain strength, a vile climate pervades the land and causes nightmares to those sensitive to it… Verily, hou hast felt it…”
Saria and Nyrava stared at Link when they heard that. This was the first news they got about that..
“So that’s why you were so sleepy these days, right?” Nyrava asked.
“Link… the time has come to test thy courage…” The Deku Tree continued, getting the glare of everyone. “I have been cursed… I need thee to break the curse with thy wisdom and courage.” Everyone gasped when they heard the Deku Tree’s words. “Dost thou have courage enough to undertake this task?”
“Wait, Great Deku Tree.” Saria interrupted. “But what exactly does he have to do?”
“He and Navi must needs enter within, and lay waste to the fount of this curse that hath befallen me.” The Deku Tree replied.
“What?! Great Deku Tree, you can’t be serious!” Mido exclaimed. “Allow him to enter inside you?!”
“He’s right!” Saria said.
“Thanks.” Mido thanked Saria.
“Do  you expect him to enter alone inside of you?” Saria asked. “We don’t know what he can find there.”
“Hey!” Mido looked at Saria for a moment.
“Besides, why has to be Link? Is there no one else who can do it?” Saria asked.
“Saria.” Nyrava interrupted Saria. “The Great Deku Tree has chosen Link for this task, and his word is law. Besides, we’re forbidden to ask for aid for people outside the forest unless he says so.”
“I know, but still,” Saria said, holding her arm with a hand looking down.
“Dang it. This must be some kind of bad jest.” Mido said, sulking and tapping the ground with his feet.
Link passed them and approached the Deku Tree.
“Great Deku Tree, I’ll do it.” Link said, shocking everyone. He turned to them. “The Great Deku Tree is in trouble, and for some reason, he’s asking me to help him. I don’t know why, but I can’t reject his plea.” After these words, he turned to the Deku Tree.
“Then enter, brave Link… and thou too, Navi.” The Deku Tree said as he began to open his mouth widely, turning into an entrance. “Navi the fairy… Thou must aid Link… thou shall offer the knowledge thee need.”
Link prepared himself to enter the Deku Tree while looking at the entrance.
“Hold on,” Nyrava said before Link could make a step inside, walking to him. “I’m coming with you.” The others turned to the busty Kokiri just as she stopped at Link’s side. “You will need help inside there.”
“Are you sure?” Saria asked her.
“Of course! I’m not going to leave my little brother to venture into the wolfos’ den alone.” Nyrava said, raising the thumb.
“I doubt you'll get very far, to be honest.”
Everyone turned to the person who spoke, spotting the girl Ganalia there, leaning against a wall and playing with a rupee with her fingers.
“Hey! What are you doing here?! No outsiders can be here!” Mido exclaimed, pointing at the girl.
“Why do you say they won’t get very far?” Saria asked.
“Well, the Cowkiri seems to be fairly capable.” Ganalia began to say, looking at the busty Kokiri, just when Mido laughed softly, thinking to himself about not thinking in using that term with Nyrava before. “But the boy is another story. I knocked him down earlier like it was nothing.”
“Only because you surprised me and had no weapon!” Link said to her.
“Say what you want, kid.” Ganalia shrugged. “But maybe I can help you, for a good price, of course.”
“What do you want?” Nyrava asked her.
“Before you gave me three golden rupees. Maybe with ten more, I can be your bodyguard.” Ganalia offered.
“What? I don’t have that much!” Nyrava exclaimed.
“Nor you nor anyone in the forest.” Link said.
“And it is rumored that you are the richest in the forest,” Mido said to the busty Kokiri with his arms crossed.
“Well, if you’re not going to pay me, then I’m leaving.” Ganalia turned around. “I have nothing else to gain in this forest.”
Saria thought for a moment before extending her hand to the girl.
“Wait!” Saria called her. “Inside the Great Deku Tree. There are treasures that only the Great Deku Tree holds. If you help Link and Nyrava, you can keep them.”
“Saria?!” Mido asked in shock. “Giving those treasures to her?!”
Ganalia turned her head, looking at the female Kokiri. “All the treasure? No matter what they are?” She asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yes.” Saria nodded to her, her hands crossed. “But only if Link and Nyrava get out alive after saving the Great Deku Tree.”
The self-called Monster Child thought for a moment before smiling.
“Okay, guys!” Ganalia said as she spun her halberd with her hand, before hitting the ground with it. “You got your bodyguard!”
Link and Nyrava simply frowned as they crossed their arms, looking at her.
“This is a bad idea…” Navi simply said.
“Come on, guys,” Ganalia said as she walked past them. “We have a tree to save.”
The two rolled their eyes as all of them entered the Deku Tree.

After getting inside, the group found itself in what seemed like the inside of a temple made of wood instead of stone.
“I saw the inside of many trees, but never saw one like this one,” Ganalia said as she looked around.
“Well, this is the first time we’re inside the Great Deku Tree.” Link said.
“But many parts of this place seem unnatural,” Nyrava said. “Many of the walls seem to have been gnawed by something huge.”
“Gnawed? Better said, devoured from the inside!” Navi exclaimed. “And for your information, the thing that made all this is inside the Great Deku Tree!”
“She’s right. We must find it as soon as possible.” Link said.
“And from where must we begin the search?” Ganalia asked.
Both Link and Nyrava looked around, soon signaling opposite directions, making Ganalia facepalm herself.
“This will take longer than I thought,” Ganalia muttered.
She walked a few steps until she felt how her movement was slightly restrained, and when she looked down, she made a disgusted face.
“Argh, Skulltulas…” Ganalia said, looking down at the cobweb where she was standing. “I really hate those things.”
“Skulltulas? Here?” Nyrava asked, looking around.
“I think I found them.” Link signaled to the walls, where they spotted dozens of spiders with skull-shaped shells walking on the walls. “Never saw so many in one place. Do you think they’re the source of the curse?”
“I doubt it. Skulltulas are more opportunistic than other things, using any kind of dark place as their home. They don’t have the power to put something like the Great Deku Tree like this, even if there are lots of them.” Navi said.
“So you mean that the source of the problem is worse?” Ganalia said. “That doesn't rule out many things on the list, looking up.”
Nyrava looked up for a moment before looking down, seeing a shadow move fast below the cobweb.
“Hey! I think I saw something down there!” The busty Kokiri exclaimed, signaling down.
Link, Ganalia, and Navi looked down too, but they didn’t see anything.
“Are you sure of it?” Link asked. “I don’t see anything from there.”
“But what I see is water,” Ganalia said. “If we can’t find a clue here, we might find something down there. The question is how to pass this cobweb.” She then looked around. “Somebody has something to make a fire?”
“What?! You’re planning to use fire here?! Are you crazy or something?!” Navi asked her.
“Hey, calm down, fairy! It's just a suggestion!” Ganalia said, raising her hands.
“Maybe if we throw something heavy from a high place, we might break the cobweb.” Link suggested.
“Well…” Nyrava looked up. “We have nothing to do down here, so it's better to begin climbing and see if we can get some clues up there.”
“With those Skulltulas on the walls? They will rush to us the second we get close to them.”  Ganalia warned them.
“Do you think I have this only for show?” Nyrava said, holding her bow in front of her.
“We can get to the upper floor without problems. The Skulltulas are patrolling the way to the top floor.” Link said, looking up and then seeing a ledge that extended up to where the cobweb was. “Let me test something.”
Link climbed to the upper floor through some ladders on a side as the girls looked at him. When Link got to the ledge’s border, he looked down for a moment before jumping down, scaring the girls as they saw him fall on the cobweb, Ganalia moving out of the cobweb. When he landed there, the cobweb was lowered by Link's weight, but it wasn't enough to break it.
“What were you thinking?!” Navi asked him. “Is it that you want to kill yourself?!”
“Calm down, fairy. The boy had an idea.” Ganalia said. “But I doubt we'll break it with the three of us. We need to do it at a higher height.”
“Well, let's go up then.” Link said.
The three soon climbed to the upper floor, reaching a wall with lots of vines that would allow them to climb, but also some Skulltullas wandering on the wall, making it dangerous to climb it.
“Okay, let’s get this done.” Nyrava prepared her bow, aiming at the monsters.
But then Ganalia pulled her shirt as she looked to the other side.
“What’s there?” Ganalia asked as she signaled what seemed to be a door on the same floor.
“Who cares? We have things to do!” Link said.
Ganalia then put an arm behind Link’s neck with a mischievous grin. “You forgot what your friend said? She said that if I help you, all the treasures we got here will be mine. So I’m not going to leave any place until we get all the treasures we can get, understood?”
Link looked nervously at her before looking at Nyrava and Navi.
“I don't think we have any say in this situation,” Navi said.
With no more options, the group walked and passed through the door, soon getting into a large room with a small pit with ladders leading up to a platform ahead, and a floating platform between the entrance and the platform. But the most important thing was the chest that seemed to be there.
“Okay, who smells a trap here?” Ganalia asked.
Link looked around at the platform, but then he jumped on the floating platform, and from it rushed to jump to the stable platform before the floating one fell to the ground.
“Not bad! But now, how will you get back here? There are no ladders to get up here!” Ganalia asked. “Besides that, what’s in the chest?”
Link looked at the chest and opened it, getting from inside what seemed to be a slingshot.
“What?! A slingshot?!” Ganalia asked, shocked. “There’s nothing else inside?”
“No, just a few Deku Seeds,” Link replied, taking the seeds with a hand.
“This is a joke! A scam! When I catch that brat, I'm going to…” Ganalia spoke angrily.
“Hey, this is the Fairy Slingshot! It’s one of the Great Deku Tree’s treasures, so calm down already!” Navi exclaimed.
“Just let it be, okay?” Nyrava said.
“Yeah, maybe there are more treasures inside. Just be patient.” Navi said. She wasn't a fan of the idea, but if that way, they might keep her close and visible…
“Okay, you see something from there?” Nyrava asked him.
Link began to look around until he spotted something over the girls. “Hey! I found a ladder just over there!”
The two leaned toward looking up, seeing the ladder, which was stuck with cobwebs.
“Okay, sadly, I can’t hit it from here. You must use the slingshot from there.” Nyrava said.
“And how?” Link asked.
Ganalia crossed her hands, shaking her head. “Why don't you go down and do it from there?” She asked the busty Kokiri.
“No, he should learn how to use it,” Nyrava said to her before looking at Link. “Just hold the slingshot firmly with one hand, and with your good hand, pull the string as far as you can, aiming for the ladder. And when you get a good aim, leave the string loose.”
Link nodded and held the slingshot with his right hand, and pulled the string with a seed using his left hand as much as he could. Remembering how Nyrava used her bow, he began to aim the ladder with the slingshot until he was sure he could hit it. Then he dropped the string, effectively shooting the seed to the ladder.
When the seed hit the ladder, it shook for a moment before falling, landing in the perfect place so it could be used to reach the entrance zone.
“Well done, Link!” Nyrava exclaimed.
“For his first shot, he didn't do too badly,” Ganalia commented.
Link quickly used the ladder to return with the girls, handing the Fairy Slingshot to Ganalia.
“I think this is yours.” Link said, but Ganallia pushed it away to Link.
“Keep it. I have no interest in such a toy.” Ganalia said, looking to another side.
“Hey! The Fairy Slingshot isn’t a toy!” Navi exclaimed.
“Then better. I can put it to better use.” Linki said.
The three returned to the vine path with the Skulltulas blocking the way, and with Nyrava’s help, Link began to get better use of the slingshot as he took down the Skulltulas that were there. And now with the path free, the three began to climb the vines to the upper floor, where they found another place from which to jump to the cobweb on the first floor.
But as Link approached the ledge, a large Skulltula hanging on a spider thread descended violently from the ceiling, almost hitting Link, who jumped away.
“That’s what I call a large Skulltula!” Nyrava asked.
Link got his sword and attacked the Skulltula, but the sword bounced on the Skulltula’s shell, and the monster swung backward and forward, tackling Link with the movement and falling on his butt.
“Link! Are you okay?” Nyrava asked.
“Yeah, but I’m not doing that again.” Link groaned with a hand on his head.
“Link, the Skulltula has a hard external shell, immune to attacks unless using something with enough penetrating power,” Navi said.
“Then let’s do this.” Nyrava prepared her bow.
“I doubt it could work. Your small bow has no power enough to penetrate a Skulltulla’s shell of this size. Might work with the ones of smaller size, but not with this one.” Navi said.
“And how do we get this thing out of the way?” Link asked as he stood up.
“His only weak point is its underbelly, but for that, we must force it to spin around!” Navi said.
“Then leave it to me,” Ganalia said, approaching her halberd using the weapon’s head to hold the Skulltula’s shell. “Just wait!”
Ganalia pulled the halberd to herself, making the arachnid monster spin around itself. After the monster stopped spinning, the Skulltula had its underbelly facing them, a chance that Ganalia used to impale the monster with her weapon, making it fall to the ground dead.
“Nice move!” Navi said.
“Nothing, one who learns tricks as one grows up,” Ganalia said, looking at the duo arrogantly. “Something you will never do.”
“We can keep on, please?” Link asked as he walked to the ledge.
He looked down from the ledge, seeing how tall they were at this moment.
“If we miscalculate, we crash into the ground.” Link said, looking at the tree’s base.
“Come on, don’t tell me you’re scared already,” Ganalia said to him.
“Don’t worry, you will be fine,” Navi said.
“Says the one who can fly,” Nyrava said, annoying Navi a little.
“Come on, let’s do this,” Ganalia said.
After a few seconds of hesitation, the three jumped from the ledge, getting into the centre of the cobweb, which was pushed down by their weight and the fall, which was enough to break it and make them fall into the basement, ending in the water that was below them.
The three swam up to get their heads out of the water, breathing loudly.
“Well, that was pretty fun,” Nyrava said.
“Say that for yourself,” Ganalia said.
“Okay, let’s get out of the water and keep looking, okay?” Link said to the girls.
After getting out of the water, the group continued walking through any path they could find in their search, going out of their way to search for any treasure they could find to please Ganalia, and dealing with any Deku Baba or Skulltula that got in their way. They kept that way until they reached a large empty room.
“Funny, nothing here?” Ganalia said.
The three began to walk, but then, without any warning, small bipedal bugs with a large eye each one began to fall around them and surround the group.
“What are those things?” Nyrava asked, preparing her bow.
“Gohma Larvae, here?!” Navi exclaimed.
“What? Gohma?” Link asked.
One of the Gohma Larvae jumped at Link, but he was able to avoid it and slashed it with his sword. Nyrava began to shoot arrows from her bow against several of the bug monsters, as Ganalia impaled and cut a good number of them. Despite being numerous, the three were able to get rid of the Gohma Larvae.
“Okay, can somebody tell me what those things are?” Nyrava asked.
“Those are Gohma Larvae, the progenies of a Gohma, a monster related to the Tektites,” Navi explained. “This number here means that a Gohma is the cause of the problem.”
“So, if we kill the Gohma, we save the Great Deku Tree, right?” Link asked.
“That would be the idea. But we don't know how much damage it has caused to the Great Deku Tree.” Navi said. “And the way things are around us, the damage may be too severe.”
“Then we must find it now!” Link began to run, but Ganalia stopped him.
“Not so fast, boy. It's better to go slowly and carefully than to rush. Who knows what awaits us ahead?” Ganalia said to him. “And you won’t be able to save anybody if you’re dead.”
Link thought for a moment, looking down, before looking at her. “Yes, you’re right.”
“Okay, then let’s go. The Great Deku Tree might not have much time.” Navi said.
“What was just said about rushing?” Nyrava said.
The group followed the path they had in front of them, constantly encountering monsters getting in the way of the group, until they reached a large place with a sealed door at the end.
“Great, that door is sealed,” Navi said. “And it seems that this room and the one behind it are the only places we didn’t look.”
“Then tell me how we open that door.” Link said.
Suddenly, from the roof fell another monster in the middle of the room. This monster was nothing like the ones they found before, as this thing seemed something like a huge rhino beetle with large armored arms standing on its four bug-like legs.
“Navi, what’s that thing?” Link asked, unsheathing his sword.
“I… I have no idea!” Navi replied. “It’s the first time I've seen a monster like that!”
“What? You don’t know what that thing is?” Nyrava asked.
The large beetle rushed forward, forcing the group to move away to avoid its attack. Nyrava began to shoot arrows at the large but, but the arrows bounced when hitting the armored hide. The monster turned to her and jumped forward, landing in front of her and raising its arms to hit her, but she was quick enough to avoid the attack.
As the insect monster began to move around searching for its victim, Ganalia attempted to use a Deku Nut on the ground. The flash caused by the object blinded the monster, making it shake violently before charging forward to Ganalia, but she was able to avoid it, while the beetle monster crashed against the wall, getting dizzy by the impact and falling on its back, struggling to stand up.
“Let’s take this chance! Now!” Ganalia exclaimed.
She and Link rushed to the monster and began to hit the exposed belly with the halberd and the Kokiri sword, seeing that it was softer compared to the rest of the monster’s body. But despite their effort, the bug monster was able to stand up, flailing its arms and horn to hit anybody near it.
Ganalia thought of using the same trick with the monster, tossing another Deku Nut. But when the object flashed, the monster covered its head, blocking the flash from its eyes. Then the monster rushed toward Ganalia and Link, the two jumping to different sides to avoid the tackle.
“Hey, bug brain! Come here!” Link called the monster after having an idea.
The bug monster began advancing toward Link, the arms protecting the head from Link’s seeds thrown by his slingshot, while Nyrava kept shooting at it with her bow from a distance.
When the monster was close enough to Link, it raised its arms ready to strike him, but the monster fell into his trap. Link was quick enough to throw a Deku Nut he had thrown against the ground, flashing the area with the hit, blinding the monster, who fell again in a frenzy, before charging forward and being avoided by Link, hitting the wall hard and falling on its back.
Using the chance, Link charged and jumped over the monster, stabbing the monster’s belly with the Kokiri Sword as deeply as he could. With the sword impaled in its belly, the bug monster shook violently before falling inert on the ground.
Link jumped from the dead monster, panting hard.
“Are you okay, Link?” Navi asked Link.
“Yeah, I’m fine…” Link replied.
Ganalia and Nyrava approached Link, keeping an eye on the dead monster.
“Where did this thing come from?” Nyrava asked.
“I don't know, but it's clear that whoever left it here didn't want us to get close to the source of the curse,” Navi said.
“I once heard stories... rumors about people creating monsters from other animals,” Ganalia said. “They all seemed like horror stories to me. Until now.”
Just then, the sealed door opened, getting the group’s attention.
“Anyway, we must continue.” Link said.
The group soon crossed the door, ending up in a wide room with four large pillars that reached to the ceiling, all covered in cobwebs. But they didn’t see anything inside the room. The group walked around the room in search of anything. And it seemed there were no more ways to continue.
“Okay. Can somebody tell me why that thing protected an empty room?” Nyrava asked, scratching her head.
“Shut up!” Said Ganalia, looking around as soon as she began hearing something like steps. “You’re hearing that?”
“Yes, but from where?” Link asked, looking around to find the steps’ source.
Everybody was looking around until Nyrava gulped, “I think I found it…” and pointed up to the ceiling.
They looked up, finding a large arachnid insect walking with two huge claws, with two smaller claws on its back, and with a large eye with an odd symbol as its pupil. The large creature detached itself from the ceiling and landed on the ground just in front of the ground, roaring loudly as it stood up with its hind legs and raised all its claws menacingly.

“It’s that thing? The one hurting the Great Deku Tree?” Link asked, looking at the monster.
“Yes, that Gohma must be the cause of everything,” Navi replied.
Just as the Gohma began to advance toward them, Nyrava began to fire arrows at the monster, but all of them clashed and bounced off the creature’s hard hide. Link also used his slingshot against the Gohma, having the same result.
“Amateurs…” Ganalia shook her head. “Why don't you shoot at the big eye instead of the body?!”
The two looked at each other, but then the monster got too close to them, and it raised its claws to strike them, forcing the group to move away from its claws.
“If we don't cooperate with each other, we won't be able to take that thing down!” Navi exclaimed at them.
“Yeah, just as the fairy said!” Ganalia said.
The Gohma kept advancing this time toward Link, being unable to stop it with his slingshot, and being unable to hit its eye due to the monster’s movement. Soon, the monster prepared to attack Link with his claws as he jumped away, a Deku Nut falling down without breaking. When the Gohma hit the ground, it broke the Deku Nut, making a flash, blinding it, and falling to the ground in shock, its eye spinning.
“Don't just stand there! Attack!” Navi exclaimed to Link.
Link then attempted to attack the monster, but it recovered quickly and stood up, Link’s sword hitting the hard hide. But instead of counterattacking, the Gohma began to walk to one of the stone pillars and quickly climbed it, getting out of reach of them.
“And it’s planning to do?” Nyrava asked, looking at the monster in the ceiling.

Nyrava was unable to see Link because her swollen belly was blocking her view, but she simply smiled, rubbing her swollen belly with her hands.
“I wish you a safe journey, Link. Try not to forget any of us. Especially me~.” Nyrava said as she panted loudly.
“Don’t worry.” Link said as he breathed hard. “You are not someone anyone can forget.”
Navi simply stared in awe at the mess these two Kokiri had just made in the house in front of her, surprised at how Link was still standing even after such a session, and how Nyrava was still awake even after that filling.
“Seriously! Both of you are something else!” Navi exclaimed after being silent for a while.
Both Link and Nyrava stared at Navi for a moment before beginning to laugh happily.

Link walked to the Kokiri Forest’s exit, where he spotted Ganalia leaning against the entrance with her arms crossed. She soon spotted him and the Fairy coming closer.
“You have everything ready?” Ganalia asked them.
Link thought for a moment, soon nodding at her. “Yes, we’re ready.” Link began to walk to the exit.
“Wait!”
Link turned around, seeing a Kokiri run to him. Link recognized him as one of Mido’s cronies. He wondered what he was doing here.
“What do you want?” Ganalia asked.
The Kokiri stopped close to them. Both of them saw how the Kokiri was holding a wooden tablet in his hand.
“Sorry, but Mido sent me.” The Kokiri said, looking at the girl. “He ordered me to tell you that he thought what you said, and he might have an idea of who could be one of this desert man’s cronies.”
He gave the wooden table to them. The two looked at it. It was engraved with a pair of weird-shaped bolts that looked in a way they seemed a pair of s’.
“Mido said that he saw a group of grown-up men coming out of the Deku Tree’s grove before he called you. They were fitted with weird clothes, but the one who seemed to be the leader of them had that symbol on his clothes.” The Kokiri said.
Link and Ganalia looked at each other as Navi flew close to the tablet. Now they had an idea of one of the people who could be behind the Deku Tree’s death.
Now with this information, the two began to walk, leaving the Kokiri Forest, getting to the bridge that takes them out of the forest as a whole, and beginning to cross it to the other side.
“Oh, you’re leaving…”
Link and Ganalia stopped midtrack. They turned to see Saria standing close to them on one side of the bridge. As Ganalia stayed behind, Link approached Saria slowly.
“I knew… that you would leave the forest… someday, Link… Because you are different from me and my friends…” Saria said to Link as he was face-to-face with her.
“Yes, I always knew that I was different.” Link said. “But still, this forest will be my home.”
Saria smiled, looking at him, and soon handed a small ocarina to him.
“I want you to have this ocarina… It’s a gift.” Saria said, with the ocarina in her hands. “Play it sometimes and remember the forest, okay?”
Link took the ocarina with his hands, looking at her with a smile before running with Ganalia outside the forest.
The two of them got out of the forest to the outer world, without noting a large figure flying over them under its eyes.

In an unknown zone inside a room, an unknown man was sitting on an armchair while listening to music coming from a turntable. At that moment, a nearby phone began to ring, making the man rise from the armchair to go to the phone and grab it.
“Yes?” The unknown man asked.
“Mein Feldmarschall, the Gohma has been slain, but the Deku Tree is dead.” Said a voice from the other side of the phone.
“Gut, it seems that tree has decided to fall of its own accord. It's a shame that something so ancient should die like this.” The mak said. “And the Kokiri’s Emerald? You got it?”
“Not, mein Feldmarschall.”
“What?” The man asked. “And where is it?”
“It is in the hands of the ones who defeated Gohma. Two native Kokiri, one male and one female, and a tanned girl of red hair of the same age.”
“And where are they now?”
“The female Kokiri seems to have stayed in the forest, but actually, the other two are going to Hyrule Castle. Do we intercept them?”
The man thought for a moment. “No. Just keep an eye on them.”
“At your orders, Mein Feldmarschall!”
The man put the phone in its place, placing his hand on his chin while going to look outside the window.
“If they really defeated the Gohma… maybe we have to push the Goron a little more…” The man muttered to himself.
“And if they defeated the Gohma, it means they defeated my pet too.”
The man turned to the side, spotting a female figure in the same room.
“Yes, and there's a lot to be said if some children were able to defeat one of your chimeras, doctor.” The man said.
“I know. But now I'm interested in knowing who they are, as well as testing my children with them.” The woman said.
“Yeah, but first I will have to inform him about this… turn of events.” The man said.
