This is because while the fremeril creates eggs, shi does not have a uterine wall that hir egg can attach to that will allow hir young to share hir blood and nutrients as it grows. Instead, after the egg has been seeded, it travels down the fremeril's cervical tract until it comes to rest inside hir egg chamber located just at the base of the creatures tail. There the egg will be mixed in with the fremeril's other juices which shi will transfer to hir second mate.\n\tThe egg can survive in the egg chamber for about two weeks, so at this point, time is not of the essence. After a long time running the two Xir stop to rest; a flat spot in the forest with a curious rock floor. It seems as though something might have once used this location for a den, but what ever it was is long gone now. Only a shallow hole in the ground remains within the roots of a giant tree. The male begins digging out the hole a little more with the help of his hooked tail end. The fremeril, who's tail is little more than just a smooth nub, could only dig with hir paws.\n\tSuddenly the male lifts his head to the air and sniffs, only to be greeted by the soft ring of thunder in the distance and the sound of falling water slowly getting closer. By now the Xir's den was almost finished. This was really the perfect spot for them. The whole location had a rock floor and was on the high ground which would prevent the water from entering the hole they called home. Feeling the oncoming storm, the male urges his mate into the den, being deep enough to fit the both of them comfortably. Shi obliged and entered with a delightful chirping sound.
