It's been a long time since I did something that featured Mari and Jowee together and since they seem like such an adorable couple (and because I liked the picture this story is based off of quite a bit), I decided to go ahead and write a little something here.

It is also not considered 'in canon' with the Wii version of \"The Next Chapter\".\n\nJowee and Mari have been living together at village hall for several years as a married couple. In the time since their wedding, Mari was often busy filling in her father's place as mayor of Rapoville while Jowee often served as her assistant. While Mari and Jowee seemed to have a happy life together, both of them felt as if their lives weren't complete.\n\nSince their wedding, Jowee had been thinking about having rapokids with Mari for awhile. His mother had passed on years ago and he had no idea who or where his father was. At that moment in time, all he had in his life was Mari and he felt desperate to change it by passing on his seed to her and giving them a family of their own.\n\nMari knew about Jowee's wishes and was definitely willing, especially considering that her first-born would be the next mayor of Rapoville once it was time for her to pass it on. However, as much as she wanted to start a family, Mari felt that she couldn't. She had a village to run and had a lot to learn that her father didn't teach her before he was killed. In the years that had passed since the day where she became mayor, the village's population had increased from about 50 to more than 500. As such, she had to oversee a lot of new building projects on the eastern edge of the village as well as maintain the village's budget. She didn't know if she had the time to become a mother right now. Plus, given the fact that she and Jowee were only 20 years old, she figured that she still had plenty of time to have a family down the road.\n\nThat being said though, this didn't stop Mari and Jowee from having private time together. Their love lives were quite vigorous whenever they were alone in village hall and the two of them engaged in sex quite often. Today, Jowee went to the secret beach that only he and Mari knew about to relax under the warm Mid-May sun while not wearing any clothes. He picked it up and held it in his hands, wondering what he was going to do with it now. Then he looked up and noticed something that he didn't before. It turned out that the secret beach extended further than he and Mari first thought it did. In addition, there also seemed to be something off in the distance he had never seen before and instantly became curious.\n\nHe made his way out of the grove, still carrying the diamond in one hand, walking down the beach towards the mysterious object. As he got closer, he came to realize that it happened to be an ancient statue that had been standing for many generations. He stopped a few feet from the statue and looked at it curiously, feeling his shaft grow stiff once again as he looked at what it was. It appeared to be a statue of two raposa (one male, one female), kissing while in the middle of sexual intercourse. The stone raposa couple stood on top of a stone pedestal that had some strange markings on it.\n\nJowee looked at the pedestal a bit closer and saw that there was an inscription on it written in ancient Raposian. However, he knew someone who did and quickly made his way back to the other side of the beach to grab his clothes and run back into the village.\n\nHe made his way into village hall where Mari was at her desk going over some paperwork for next month's festival. \"Mari...come quick...there's something I need to show you!\", Jowee exclaimed as soon as he appeared in the room as Mari put down her papers and let out a sigh.\n\nShe knew her husband quite well and this wasn't the first time Jowee said that he had \"something to show her\". However, Mari didn't seem to be in the mood at the moment for that kind of game. \"Jowee please...I'm in the middle of something...it can wait a little while until I'm done\", Mari answered back to him, thinking that he wanted sex. She then returned to her paperwork as Jowee looked at his wife and thought of a way to get her attention. He soon came up with an idea that seemed certain to work, the only question was would it be worth doing it.\n\nHe remembered that he still had a supply of water balloons that he hadn't used in a while and filled one of them up. He then looked at the water-filled balloon and let out a sigh. \"You know, if I do this, I'm sure Mari is going to be mad at me, just like that one time I hit her with that snowball\", Jowee thought to himself, shivering to the thought of what she did to him to get even. \"My crotch felt ice cold for days after I did that\", he added, remembering how Mari poured a bunch of snow into his pants. Within a matter of moments, Mari felt the cold water on her facial fur, hair, ears, and soak into the upper part of her bright yellow dress. Then, her face turned a shade of red, her ears stood back and the claws on her fingertips scratched at the wood table.\n\n\"JOWEE!\", she shouted angrily as he immediately became pale, starting to think that maybe hitting Mari with the water balloon wasn't such a hot idea. But then she suddenly seemed to calm down and laugh it off. \"That was a rather good surprise there\", she answered in a cheerful tone of voice, hiding the fact that inside her mind she was really thinking \"revenge\". She got out of her chair and went towards the pie on the window sill. \"In fact, why don't I give you a little surprise of your own\", she added in a more sinister tone of voice a few seconds later as Jowee saw Mari grab the pie and quickly put two and two together.\n\nHis green eyes bugged out for a second or two before he bolted out of village hall with Mari running after him. Jowee's plan to get Mari's attention had worked, but he thought that maybe it might have worked a little too well. All he could do now though was run from Mari while traveling in the direction of the secret beach, hoping to stay away from the still warm banyaberry pie she was carrying. He was able to stay in front of her until he got to the grove of palm trees that hid the statue before he tripped and fell down on the sand, allowing Mari to catch up to him. Before he could get back to his feet, Mari was standing above him, holding the pie in her hand as she appeared ready to hit him in the face with it. \"Hit me in the face with a water balloon huh?\", she scolded Jowee for a moment as he tried to back away from her. \"Well, I hope it was worth it, because this is the only thing you're getting from me tonight!\", she added a few seconds later before her eyes noticed the statue and she suddenly stopped.\n\n\"Wait a minute...what's that?\", she asked curiously, instantly forgetting about hitting Jowee with the pie as she walked over towards the statue. Jowee quickly realized what was going on and got back up to his feet, hoping that maybe Mari would forgive him for what he did.\n\n\"Mari, I'm sorry that I hit you with the water balloon, I just did it so I could get you over here to show you this\", Jowee answered sheepishly as Mari looked at the statue and saw everything that Jowee did earlier.\n\n\"I've never seen a statue like this before in my life, but it looks like it has been here for a long time\", she mentioned softly, noticing the two symbols and the writing on it. Because most of The Book of Life had been written in ancient Raposian, she was able to recognize the letters written on the pedestal and came to a realization of what it was. \"Jowee, do you know what this is?\", she asked him curiously, placing the pie down on the pedestal.\n\nJowee immediately scrathed his head and felt confused. \"Actually, that's what I was trying to figure out\", he answered back to his wife right before Mari pounced him and knocked him onto the sand.\n\n\"It's a fertility icon! The Creator must've left this here for the first raposa to encourage them to breed!\", she mentioned excitedly to Jowee as he blushed a little and still felt confused.\n\n\"OK, so what does that mean for us?\", Jowee asked curiously before Mari climbed off of him and helped Jowee back to his feet.\n\n\"I'm not exactly sure yet. Then, Mari noticed that there was more writing at the bottom, explaining what was in each bottle. Each bottle contained a blend of paint, sky blue kaorin berry powder, and a special herbal blend.\n\nShe knew what sky blue kaorin berries were. They were used to increase sperm production in males and to stimulate ovulation in females. Mari continued to look at the paper for several more moments while thinking about what to do. Since their wedding, Jowee had been thinking about having rapokids with Mari for awhile.  His mother had passed on years ago and he had no idea who or where his father was.  At that moment in time, all he had in his life was Mari and he felt desperate to change it by passing on his seed to her and giving them a family of their own.

He made his way out of the grove, still carrying the diamond in one hand, walking down the beach towards the mysterious object.  As he got closer, he came to realize that it happened to be an ancient statue that had been standing for many generations.  He stopped a few feet from the statue and looked at it curiously, feeling his shaft grow stiff once again as he looked at what it was.  It appeared to be a statue of two raposa (one male, one female), kissing while in the middle of sexual intercourse.  The stone raposa couple stood on top of a stone pedestal that had some strange markings on it.

"JOWEE!", she shouted angrily as he immediately became pale, starting to think that maybe hitting Mari with the water balloon wasn't such a hot idea.  But then she suddenly seemed to calm down and laugh it off.  "That was a rather good surprise there", she answered in a cheerful tone of voice, hiding the fact that inside her mind she was really thinking "revenge".  She got out of her chair and went towards the pie on the window sill.  "In fact, why don't I give you a little surprise of your own", she added in a more sinister tone of voice a few seconds later as Jowee saw Mari grab the pie and quickly put two and two together.

His green eyes bugged out for a second or two before he bolted out of village hall with Mari running after him.  Jowee's plan to get Mari's attention had worked, but he thought that maybe it might have worked a little too well.  All he could do now though was run from Mari while traveling in the direction of the secret beach, hoping to stay away from the still warm banyaberry pie she was carrying.  He was able to stay in front of her until he got to the grove of palm trees that hid the statue before he tripped and fell down on the sand, allowing Mari to catch up to him.  Before he could get back to his feet, Mari was standing above him, holding the pie in her hand as she appeared ready to hit him in the face with it.  "Hit me in the face with a water balloon huh?", she scolded Jowee for a moment as he tried to back away from her.  "Well, I hope it was worth it, because this is the only thing you're getting from me tonight!", she added a few seconds later before her eyes noticed the statue and she suddenly stopped.

"Wait a minute...what's that?", she asked curiously, instantly forgetting about hitting Jowee with the pie as she walked over towards the statue.  Jowee quickly realized what was going on and got back up to his feet, hoping that maybe Mari would forgive him for what he did.

"Mari, I'm sorry that I hit you with the water balloon, I just did it so I could get you over here to show you this", Jowee answered sheepishly as Mari looked at the statue and saw everything that Jowee did earlier.

"I've never seen a statue like this before in my life, but it looks like it has been here for a long time", she mentioned softly, noticing the two symbols and the writing on it.  Because most of The Book of Life had been written in ancient Raposian, she was able to recognize the letters written on the pedestal and came to a realization of what it was.  "Jowee, do you know what this is?", she asked him curiously, placing the pie down on the pedestal.

Jowee immediately scrathed his head and felt confused.  "Actually, that's what I was trying to figure out", he answered back to his wife right before Mari pounced him and knocked him onto the sand.

"It's a fertility icon!  The Creator must've left this here for the first raposa to encourage them to breed!", she mentioned excitedly to Jowee as he blushed a little and still felt confused.

"OK, so what does that mean for us?", Jowee asked curiously before Mari climbed off of him and helped Jowee back to his feet.

"I'm not exactly sure yet.  All it says that it requires a male and a female who are linked by love to activate it", she answered back to Jowee while he looked at the statue and then looked back to Mari, still feeling puzzled.
