Life\n(M Non-Anthro Eevee + F Non-Anthro Pikachu)\n\nThis is a story about two wild pokemon living in the forests of Northern Japan found friendship with one another and eventually something a lot deeper. Their tale began about nine months ago during the warmth of the Summer. A young female pichu was wandering not far from the rest of her tribe as well as her parents, feeling cheerful and carefree. She was out looking for some of the freshly ripened berries that were commonly found in the forest in June. She didn't expect to run into any trouble while she was out...that is until she happened come across a single giant hornet worker resting on the leaf of a berry bush. It seemed to be minding it's own business, just wanting to warm up in the late morning sunlight before going hunting for food for its still developing sisters.\n\nHowever, the young female pichu didn't like the idea of having a hornet on a berry bush so close to the delicious ripe berries she wanted to eat and gave the hornet a jolt from her cheeks, thinking it would be enough to kill it. The hornet dropped from the leaf and appeared to be dead for a second or two, but it was merely dazed and it shook off the mild charge within seconds. Meanwhile, the young female pichu went to pick some berries, taking the time to eat a couple, blissfully unaware that she had just made that hornet very angry. It unleashed it's stinger and darted towards the female pichu, striking her once on her tail before flying off.\n\nThe young female cried out in pain for a second and saw the lump on her tail before knowing it was the hornet as she started to follow it back towards where it came from. This wasn't the smartest thing for her to do, however. What she didn't know until it was too late was that the hornet had gone back to its nest underneath an old tree stump and had called for reinforcements. The young female pichu's blue eyes grew wide and she stopped dead in her tracks when she started to see about 20 giant hornets emerge from the nest and all come after her.\n\nShe immediately realized she bit off more than she could chew and tried to run back in the direction of her tribe with the hornets chasing her with the intent on inflicting more stings. The female pichu was able to outpace the hornets for the time-being, but these bugs were determined. Once the pichu had pissed off one of its own, they would not stop until they had delivered their own brand of \"justice\" or until they couldn't pursue her any longer.\n\nThe chase continued for a good half-mile as it didn't seem like the hornets would give up. However, the young pichu wasn't used to running this far and this fast. She was starting to slow down and the hornets were gaining, all of them with stingers extended, anticipating the strike. She tried her best to stay in front of them, but it seemed as if it were a losing battle. Her only chance was to either make it back to her tribe or to find a body of water to jump in, but she was actually running in the opposite direction of the nearest pond.\n\nAs she kept running, growing increasingly weary, she happened to pass by an adult male eevee who had been out berry hunting himself. He saw the pichu run by and tilted his head towards one side, wondering what could make a pichu run this fast. Then, he saw the swarm of giant hornets who all ignored him, focusing their attention on their intended target. Given how angry those hornets were and how many there were, he figured that if they caught the pichu, they'd likely sting her to death. Somehow, he felt that he couldn't let that happen to another pokemon and ran after them.\n\nThe male eevee was fast enough to outpace the hornets as it seemed the female pichu couldn't run much longer. By now, she was panting heavily and the lead hornet was just a few feet behind her, closing the gap with its stinger in position to strike one of her hind legs. But then, out of nowhere, the eevee burst in front of the lead hornet, grabbing hold of the back of the female pichu's neck very carefully and carrying her with him as he ran. Now, he had become the target for the hornets since he had denied them their revenge.\n\nHowever, the grown male eevee had much more stamina than the female pichu, even if he couldn't run quite as fast as her when she was at peak speed. His heart and soul told him to protect this female at all costs, even though he didn't know why. Still, he followed his instincts and kept running, trying to either exhaust the hornets to death or to make them give up. In all, the pokemon duo had traveled more than a mile from the hornet nest and the male eevee showed no signs of stopping as he could still hear hornets about 10 feet behind him. But then, the sound started to fade...slowly at first, but more rapidly over the next several seconds. Eventually, it disappeared altogether. The hornets had given up the chase, having so much focus on stinging the pichu and eevee that they exhausted themselves.\n\nWhen he realized what happened, the male eevee stopped and released the pichu female from his grip, panting a little to catch his breath after running for several minutes. Although the female pichu still had a welt on her tail from a hornet sting, she knew it could've been a lot worse if it wasn't for the heroic male eevee and felt very grateful towards him once they were safe. She came over to the male eevee and rubbed one of her cheeks against one of his. While doing so, she let out a small electric charge, but only enough to make his fur stand up on end and tingle a bit. For some reason, he seemed to like the sensation and responded with a lick to her face.\n\nThe female pichu didn't have the hornets to worry about any longer, but she had another problem. She had done so much running that she got lost in the forest and didn't know where her tribe was any longer. This made her cry almost instantly as the male eevee looked at the young female and nuzzled up against her. He offered to befriend the female and raise her himself until she became a pikachu and she could be completely on her own. The female pichu had been weaned off her mom's milk, but still needed to learn some lessons about foraging, but with a male eevee around he could help her learn what berries were safe to eat.\n\nThe two of them formed what appeared to be a \"big brother/little sister\" bond. For the first few weeks, he'd bring her berries to eat so she could know which ones were safe and she was constantly by his side. The male eevee lived alone in a den near where he first saw her inside a hollow log and allowed the female to snuggle against his fluffy eevee body at night to rest...even if it meant him having a \"bad fur day\" almost every morning. She was very friendly towards the male eevee and he had grown to love her companionship and attention as the Summer progressed into Autumn and then into Winter. Prior to the winter, both the eevee and pichu gathered a cache of berries, nuts, and other edibles near the den that they now shared, making sure there would be enough food for two through the cold and snowy Japanese winter. However, as Spring approached, things began to change.\n\nThe female pichu spent most of her time in the den she shared with the male eevee. Since it was cold outside and their stores of food were located within the den, there was no reason for her to go out. However, for the male eevee it was a different story. It was late February and he was quite active outside of the den. He wandered around the woods near the den, detecting scents in the air that made his ears twitch and his nose tingle. He could smell the aroma of several vixens of various types, all of whom were in heat and in need of a male fox to breed with them. Naturally, the male eevee knew this and it had caused his maleness to come out of his sheath and begin leaking precum. The chase continued for a good half-mile as it didn't seem like the hornets would give up.  However, the young pichu wasn't used to running this far and this fast.  She was starting to slow down and the hornets were gaining, all of them with stingers extended, anticipating the strike.  She tried her best to stay in front of them, but it seemed as if it were a losing battle.  Her only chance was to either make it back to her tribe or to find a body of water to jump in, but she was actually running in the opposite direction of the nearest pond.

As she kept running, growing increasingly weary, she happened to pass by an adult male eevee who had been out berry hunting himself.  He saw the pichu run by and tilted his head towards one side, wondering what could make a pichu run this fast.  Then, he saw the swarm of giant hornets who all ignored him, focusing their attention on their intended target.  Given how angry those hornets were and how many there were, he figured that if they caught the pichu, they'd likely sting her to death.  Somehow, he felt that he couldn't let that happen to another pokemon and ran after them.

The male eevee was fast enough to outpace the hornets as it seemed the female pichu couldn't run much longer.  By now, she was panting heavily and the lead hornet was just a few feet behind her, closing the gap with its stinger in position to strike one of her hind legs.  But then, out of nowhere, the eevee burst in front of the lead hornet, grabbing hold of the back of the female pichu's neck very carefully and carrying her with him as he ran.  Now, he had become the target for the hornets since he had denied them their revenge.

However, the grown male eevee had much more stamina than the female pichu, even if he couldn't run quite as fast as her when she was at peak speed.  His heart and soul told him to protect this female at all costs, even though he didn't know why.  Still, he followed his instincts and kept running, trying to either exhaust the hornets to death or to make them give up.  In all, the pokemon duo had traveled more than a mile from the hornet nest and the male eevee showed no signs of stopping as he could still hear hornets about 10 feet behind him.  But then, the sound started to fade...slowly at first, but more rapidly over the next several seconds.  Eventually, it disappeared altogether.  The hornets had given up the chase, having so much focus on stinging the pichu and eevee that they exhausted themselves.

When he realized what happened, the male eevee stopped and released the pichu female from his grip, panting a little to catch his breath after running for several minutes.  Although the female pichu still had a welt on her tail from a hornet sting, she knew it could've been a lot worse if it wasn't for the heroic male eevee and felt very grateful towards him once they were safe.  She came over to the male eevee and rubbed one of her cheeks against one of his.  While doing so, she let out a small electric charge, but only enough to make his fur stand up on end and tingle a bit.  For some reason, he seemed to like the sensation and responded with a lick to her face.
