Of course, if those students saw Jak in his casual attire and carrying that big sword of his, they probably would mind their manners a little more than they sometimes did. However, since it was a prep school, there was a dress code and Jak had to dress appropriately for the job. Seeing what the situation was like, Jak knew he couldn’t risk running in through the main entry way, the crazed out fox boy might cause harm to the librarian. However, Jak was aware that the library had an employee entrance and soon figured that he’d come up behind and surprise the attacker.\n\nHe quickly made his way around to the library’s employee entrance and walked quietly through the bookcase-lined hallway in the back, filled with returned library books that had yet to be placed back on the shelves. As he approached, Jak was able to hear the conversations between the principal and the hostage taker.\n\n“Calm down now, son. You don’t want to do anything you’d regret now?”, the principal asked in a calm voice, trying to convince the fox boy to drop his weapon and surrender. However, the male fox had a glazed look in his eyes and seemed to be foaming from the mouth a bit as well. It wasn’t because he was rabid either, a couple days ago he had purchased some PCP from another student and as a result he had completely flipped his lid.\n\n“SHUT UP! I’M GIVING THE ORDERS AROUND HERE!”, the fox boy snarled back, keeping the knife at the librarian’s throat. “ALL OF YOU BACK OFF RIGHT NOW, OR I’LL CUT HER FUCKING HEAD OFF!”, he screamed while more foamy liquid oozed from his mouth and his eyes seemed to twitch. Some of the students in the library were hiding underneath tables during this time, not wanting to catch the fox’s attention for fear of what they might do to him. Others just tried to crawl their way out of the library through one of the other exits.\n\nMeanwhile, Jak continued to slowly approach from behind, moving as quietly as possible while thinking of a plan to take him down. Fortunately, since the male fox was too focused on snarling at the principal and other students, he was completely unaware of Jak coming up behind him. Jak used this to his advantage, lunging forward in one swift motion, placing his arm around the fox’s neck and putting him in a headlock. This gave the librarian a chance to flee for her life and out the very door that Jak came in through.\n\n“Drop the knife, punk…do it before I make you!”, Jak told the male fox as he squeezed his head a bit tighter, either trying to get the male fox to comply or to choke him out. At first, the male fox tried to turn the knife on Jak, trying to get into position where he could stab at him. However, Jak remained in control of the situation as the male fox was starting to black out from being in the headlock and eventually released the knife from his hand.\n\nJak promptly stepped on the handle of the knife, making sure that the fox would not be able to pick it back up if he were to somehow escape his grasp. At the same time, he released one of his hands from the fox while keeping his other arm around the fox’s neck while he grabbed a pair of handcuffs he had on him and soon placed them on the fox’s wrists. At about the same time, police officers entered the library, but by then the situation was under control.\n\n“OK, officers…he’s all yours”, Jak commented before turning the fox boy over to the police and allowing them to take the knife as evidence. Once the situation inside the library was resolved, everything started to return to normal as some of the students who were hiding underneath the tables came out from underneath them and the library returned to its normal operation. As for Jak, now that his task was completed, he decided to take a walk through the library to make sure there were no other surprises he had to deal with. Even though it appeared the fox boy was only armed with a knife, he wanted to make absolutely sure that was the only weapon he had on him.\n\nJak slowly walked down the corridors of the library, checking each aisle diligently, making sure everything seemed in order. For the most part, all he saw were shelves filled with books and nothing more, giving the impression that things were normal otherwise. This impression was further expressed by the way the students seemed to put this incident behind them and returned to their normal activities as Jak would periodically walk by a student while patrolling the shelves. He spent about five minutes in all walking through the aisles, covering about half of them in that time, still not finding anything else out of the ordinary. He started to get the feeling that things appeared to be back to normal and maybe it was about time for him to return to his post. However, Jak decided he didn’t want to leave the library until he checked every aisle and continued to make his walkthrough.\n\nEventually, as Jak made his way down one of the aisles, he came across another student who happened to have her face buried inside a book.
