After the drawing exam at the university of arts Linge seemed very confident, the test consisted of drawing using a WACOM tablet in the Photoshop program 2 concepts of art, 6 concepts of characters and 8 sketches of anatomical perspectives from different angles, Rin seemed a piano string with the stress on it, and the teacher's words were immediate:
Rin can I talk to you for a minute.
Rin with the small stature of her marched towards the teacher with quite marked steps and his eyes covered by her forelock hair.
"I know I know ... listen I was cold with the angles okay !, I still have a hard time understanding the angles and perspectives, I tried to do the best I could, but I couldn't, and I hate when they pressure me, I hate the pressure on My, it just makes everything worse.
Rin was a girl who hated failing in something that she knew she could do, she is one of those girls who can stop caring about the world but not for what she likes and that is why she felt all the frustration in the world on her shoulders .
"Rin, nobody is accusing you of anything, just notice how little concentrated you were during the exam, studying arts is not easy, and I believe in applied students like you"
The Photoshop teacher and the other adobe programs were quite understandably the typical hippie-looking teacher who could calm any nervous student.
"Please don't go on ... if you have something to say then say it now" Rin finally said it
"Yes Rin, I want you to repeat the exam next week, but I will assign you a fellow student"
"WHAT !? no no no I can do it alone, let me do it my way" Rin replied.
"I'm sorry Rin, it's the only condition I'll put on you if you want a second chance at this."
"Ok ... perfect ... alright ... pussy!" she said to herself "And who will be my partner
"Another of my students in this class, her name is Linge Lancaster."
"What? Linge? The weird blonde who whispers a lot and looks like a boy? Forget it"
"Come on Rin I'm sure she will help you a lot"
"Why? Because she is an excellent student and she wants me to soak up her great wisdom in what I cannot accomplish?" Rin's character was like that of a probounded bull.
"Not because she also needs help, both are on the same level but while you have problems with angles and perspective she fails with anatomies, she is quite good with what you have not mastered yet and you already know the rest to approve "
Rin crossed her arms and looked down
"Good ... just because I can't afford to pay for this class again in the future."
After Rin stormed out of the classroom she could see the students scattering around the campus, little Linge was recognizable by her long tail of a blonde squirrel walking towards the center of the university.
"Wait please wait" Rin screamed as she tried to reach her "Linge! Please"
But Linge kept walking
"Linge I said wait" Rin said as he took her by the shoulder to stop her "Don't you hear me?"
"Nothing is true, everything is permitted" Linge replied pointing to Rin's face
"What? What is it? What is that?"
Linge smiled and bowed Japanese style to Rin who is doubly confused.
"What does this Linge mean?"
"It's that today I'm Ezio Aduitore, and that's why I had to go unnoticed by the crowd before you discovered and murdered me"
"What? No, what do you say? I don't want to kill you, I have been assigned as your fellow student, and I wanted you to know if..."
"I'm hungry let's go for some dessert" Linge said without answering the now confused Rin.
Inside the cafeteria Rin tried to think about the needs of the little blonde squirrel and said "You look for a table Linge I will bring something to eat"
While Linge sat down Rin thought "Lord help me with this girl"
Upon returning Rin served Linge an apple strudel and another for herself immediately upon seeing the Strudel Linge said
"I want a spresso and for the Mademoiselle a glass of milk"
Rin looked a bit confused.
"So mademoiselle you were beginning to explain" Linge siad
"Well, I wanted ... to know if we can study together what ..."
But Linge interrupted again: "Mademoiselle let me interrupt you, this is a simple formality, no reasons for you to anxious, oh no, and I forgot to order the cream."
Rin seemed a bit more confused and before trying the Linge strudel she replied "Wait for the cream"
"What? What cream ?! Linge what the hell are you talking about?"
Linge blinked for a couple of seconds and finally answered "Oh ... sorry I thought we were recreating a classic scene from a Trantino movie with your nervous behavior to me and the struddel and stuff..."
Rin looked around trying to figure out if this was some kind of joke.
"Linge listen to me with atention, I just failed a drawing exam, our teacher assigned me as your partnerstudent I need to know what you think of that"
Linge smiled "Yeah sure, we can do it together"
Rin finally breathed in relief and ate the strudel with some peace, Linge barely touched it, she just got up and said to Rin in an almost inaudible tone
"See you at 6 in the campus park I love you"
She gave Rin a kiss on the head while she was still sitting and left there.
Later that day, Rin had changed and refreshed with a shower, the sun was setting on the horizon and simply sat on the edge of a planter to wait for Linge who appeared with more comfortable but equally attractive clothes with the classic style. Gothic gamer that Rin saw that morning, Linge seemed a bit distracted as usual, when Linge arrived she gave a green leaf to Rin who prized something confused
"Thank you? What is this?" Rin asked
"It is the typical animal crossing item, a leaf that represents an artifact because I love you"
Rin smiled and put it aside
"Well Linge we start with this"
Both girls explained their problems and tried to understand where the other was failing, while Rin explained to Linge with her own notes and examples. Linge showed her tutorials on YouTube and used sleeve examples so that Rin understood the angles a little better, afterwards. In a couple of hours they both finally finished for today.
"I can no longer Linge, I think this is enough for today, but I understood the perspectives better, it is quite interesting how you manage to draw them"
Linge smiled "I liked how you explained using my own body as a basis to know if it is a comfortable position or not in the drawing"
"You know Linge will sound weird but it's funny that after so many years you are like that 14 year old girl I met at school" Rin said
"Did it hurt?" Linge asked
"What thing?" Rin looked a bit confused again.
"When we met, 5 years and 9 months ago when we crashed on the third floor outside the math room at 2 pm, did it hurt?" Linge remembered
Maybe Rin didn't know it, but people with Asperger's syndrome tend to have a photographic memory of almost everything they live with.
"Wow what a memory Linge, I don't remember what I ate yesterday and do you remember that? Well the truth is that I got a mark on my face for several days after that" Rin said while she looked at her.
But Linge suddenly and out of nowhere asked: "Do you also have problems Rin? My mother says that I have many" since that day she had a fight with her mother and it made her remember.
Rin seemed a bit surprised with that question.
"Problems? ... like which Linge?" Rin asked as she put her things away
"Well, I have Asperger's syndrome ... and I think that's why I don't have friends"
Rin just fixed her eyes on the little squirrel "That's just autism, and a lot of people have it, it doesn't mean you have problems"
Linge smiled immensely. "It's the wikipedia description of the asperger! You know it!"
Rin scratched her head and smiled "Well hehe, it's good to know a little about everything"
Linge was still very excited "No one had told me that before! So you don't think I'm a freak"
"What? God no! I don't believe that" Rin said immediately
"So you think I'm cute?" Linge said with a small smile and huge eyes, in fact it was the first time that Rin could see her grayish blue eyes
"Well ... I think you're cute but more than anything you're not a freak, not because you have autism you are" Rin said something serious.
"Yaaaay then you could say that you are like my girlfriend" Linge said very excited.
"Wow wow haha I didn't say that, I just said you're cute and you're not a freak" Rin replied firmly
"Yes but I am cute!" Linge replied as if no one had told him before.
So Rin just played along "Of course you are very cute despite being quite flat and boyish you have a charming look," rin thought to herself" and you would be the perfect match for someone like you one day"
Rin may not know that someone with Asperger's tends to take what she says literally
"I think you are very cute too Rin and I am glad that they put us as study partners, we are like the protagonists of a school love manga"
Rin smiled a bit stressed and overwhelmed but she was also delighted to see how the squirrel took it. Even if this was an extremely awkward display of feelings, she was very sweet and sincere "I believe that one day you will find your ideal partner Linge, in the meantime I want to continue studying with you it is quite nice to do so.
Both girls said goodbye but for some reason Linge seemed happier than usual.
