projects I decide to do this fanart of the most powerfull character of the series, Emperor Palpatine, he is not my fave character but after the rise of skywalker I ve seen lots of people been talking about him, on discord, on art sites, even some friends here around, and well after draw this I would love to share the past of this character in case you dont know it, its pretty interesting if you like Star Wars, most of the info Im writting came from the book: Darth Plagueis, from James Luceno who write Palpatine childhood until Episode 1, and how he manage to get the main villian of the whole series so if you have a couple minutes here is a little summary of him:\n\nEmperor Palpatine's life or his full name Sheeve Palpatine begins in Naboo, he was the youngest of a family with several brothers and sisters, his family was one of the richest in Naboo, his father, the patriarch of the family, never felt affection for Sheeve not only because he was the youngest of all his children but also because the young man was never very in tune with the customs of the wealthy to which his family was accustomed, parties, banquets, opulence, Palpatine was someone more solitary, despite the fact that people surrounded him he did not want friends, he did not look for them and he did not follow them, something that his father bothered him a lot, he was more akin to racing pods as the young Anakin loved these dangerous machines to run at full speed, his father To keep him away, bought him the most expensive running machines in the galaxy, another thing that Palpatine was fond of was politics, his passion for him was such that when he attended university he studied law and politics, something that His father disliked him since no one in the family had done that before, and he preferred his son living a haughty and luxurious life than in a university studying law, this is where Palpatine concedes the most influential person in his entire life Hego Damask , better known as Darth Plagueis, the last of the galaxy's Sith lords, using his alter ego as a Magister of the InterGalactic Banking Clan would use Palpatine as a Naboo spy to finally open the planet to commerce and exploit the plasma it had, and that Palpatine's father never allowed, Darth Plagueis track the young Palpatine to his university and follows him until Palpatine faces him, Plagueis is immediately surprised because rarely in his life had he felt someone as sensitive to force as this young man.\nLittle by little Plagueis begins to understand the young Palpatine to know if he is worthy of a Sith training and even more to follow the rule of two of Darth Bane, in an invitation to run his racing pod with Palpatine Darth Plagueis asks the following:\n\"Tell me, Palpatine, what do you think of the republic? In case you like politics?\"\n\"I don't know, it's something that distracts me, I just want to see Naboo grow and be part of something\"\n\"Why only Naboo? Why not the whole galaxy?\"\n\"Because that is the job of the Jedi, to bring union, peace and justice to the galaxy\"\n\"And ... what do you think of the Jedi?\"\n\"I think they don't do their job well, I admire them for keeping their strength afloat but their order is corrupt and arrogant and I think someone better than them can do that job\"\n\nWith that answer Plagueis knew immediately that he had in his hands someone perfect to take as an apprentice.\nThe next few months Plagueis manipulated Palpatine to focus his anger, he learned that the young man was upset with his family, his father did not want to open Naboo to commerce, he did not want Palpatine to have a life of studies or off the planet, Plagueis told him his own Story to Palpatine to infuriate him even more during one of his visits with:\n\"When I was young I also hated my father Sheev, he didnt wanted me as the next magister of the Banking Clan\"\n\"Why did he do it?\"\n\"Because my mother was not his wife, however he and my whole family were afraid of suffering a fatal and hereditary disease that plagued my family for generations, so I approached them with the best doctors from Muunilinst, and that made me winning the trust of my family, however it was too late and he and his legitimate children were diagnosed with it, and I had little time to settle things with them \"\n\"And how did you get the position you have now?\"\nPlagueis smiled and replied with hypocritical modesty\n\"They weren't just doctors\"\n\"Did you murder your own family?\"\n\"The family should not be an anchor in your life Sheev, loving them is fine but never allow them to limit you\"\nThis was Palpatine's first sith lesson, he was unconsciously being lured to the dark side by the Leader of the bank clan to do the unthinkable.\n\nA few days after this Palpatine is picked up by his own father and family on one of his visits to a nearby planet Chandrila where he liked to go hang out and buy art, and this is where his father tells him that he has discovered his alliance with The Magister Damask and who also knows that he has passed information on the internal politics of Naboo and his punishment will be to be sent to a university on the outer edge where he does not harm his family anymore, Palpatine infuriates and does the unthinkable murders to his entire family at that same moment, using only force, he ends in seconds with the family guards and bodyguards and later with the rest of his hated family, hours later he contacts Plagueis who was already expecting this result and after a few days goes for the young palpatine who is still furious even with Plagueis whom he immediately blames for what he did:\n\"My family was right you are a greedy and murderous banker and gangster\"\n\"And you are someone free and rich\"\nPalpatine's fury subsided after a long release of words and Plagueis finally broke the silence.\n\"Tell me Palpatine, really, how did it feel to commit Parricide?\"\n\"I don't know ... I think I'm not the same person anymore\"\n\"Well ... you feel the dark side of the force ... your hatred makes you powerful\"\n\"Yes, i feel good\"\n\"Now you will be trained in the Sith arts\"\nPalpatine knelt for the first and only time in his life to give himself to his new teacher\n\"You Palpatine are the most insidious person I have ever met, you are the face of the politician who says one thing and does another ... from now on your name will be Darth ... Sidious\"\n\"Thanks master\"\nAlthough Plagueis did not know it, he had baptized the most powerful and evil man in the entire galaxy and never told him by his old name, Sheev Palpatine, now he will only refer to him with the title of honor Sith Darth.\nDays later Plagueis took palpatine to the planet Mygeeto Plagueis home planet, to begin his brutal sith training, here he tested Sidious's mind and resistance to the extreme for a long time.\n\"What are we doing here, master?\"\n\"Here you will learn like me to be and think like a Sith, while the Jedi practice completely safe in their temple with droids and simulation helmets you will train under the worst possible conditions, if your weakness was the water you would train in Mon Calamari, if you Weakness were the jungles I may train you in Felucia, if your weakness was the heat you would train in Mustafar, as a human it is easy for you to die in cold, after Hoth Mygeeto is the coldest planet in the galaxy, here you will prove to me that you are worth carrying the mantle of sith \"\n\"How long will this be Master?\"\n\"Weeks, months ... years ... you tell Darth Sidious\"\nFor months, Darth Plagueis challenged young Palpatine with the worst possible tests, almost starving him, making him climb slopes to get food, even taking his fury to the extreme so that his anger would make him someone extremely dangerous and aggressive, being an extraordinary user of the strength and lightsaber, something that Plagueis did not fully approve of but was necessary:\n\"If we are superior to the Jedi why use their weapon? master\"\n\"Because despite being able to easily finish off a Jedi Knight with force we use the lightsaber to humiliate, undercut and finish them, your Darth Sidious will only use the lightsaber when your life is in danger like the ancient Sith lords the force should be enough to finish off anybody but your lightsaber will be your As up your sleeve \"\nSidious literally did this. He always kept two laser electrum sabers under his sleeves, the most powerful type of saber in the galaxy, not only for the practically indestructible materials it was made of, but also for the kyber crystal they use, incredibly difficult to obtain. since unlike the other crystals these are eternal, and due to the energy they have, they can beat the light blades of other more generic sabers, despite this Palpatine turned out to be an incredible user of the lightsaber as fast and deadly as a Yaddle (the species of Yoda) which made his teacher a bit uncomfortable who he glimpsed in the mortal sith now that he knew how to use force and a sword of light.\nSidious didn't quite understand what the biggest difference was between a Jedi and a Sith when seeing how similar their training was:\n\"Excuse me, master, but unlike our love of power, what differentiates us from the Jedi?\"\n\"That we Sith are more quality than quantity Sidious, in the galaxy there are thousands of Jedi, but only two Sith that encapsulate what hundreds of Jedi have inside.\nBut his suspicions were true. Darth Sidious was worthy of being the next to make use of the rule of two, the most important rule of the sith when they pass the mortal training.\n\"You have done well, Darth Sidious, from now on you will be my apprentice, but remember, the first and only reality of us. There can only be two, a master who have the power and an apprentice who aspires to it\"\nPalpatine understood it perfectly but in his mind there was only one big question ... eternal life.\n\"Master, the story you told me about the disease in your family was true?\"\n\"it is\"\n\"And how have you managed to survive yourself?\"\n\"The dark side of the Force is a path to many abilities that some consider unnatural\"\n\nDuring the next years Palpatine would continue his political career creating alliances and influences to reach the Senate, on the other hand Darth Plagueis continued with his experiments with living beings sensitive to force to achieve immortality, on one of his trips to Dathomir he was reached for a woman a \"sister of the night\" who offered a newborn Zabrak because he managed to perceive that Palpatine was a force user rather than an aristocrat, Palpatine accepted the boy and took him to Mustafar to be cared for and Trained by protocol droids, he eventually became an assassin to Palpatine whom he would baptize as Maul.\nmonths after a convention of the leaders of the most powerful companies in the galaxy in Dantooine Sidious and Plagueis they saw each other again after many years, in this meeting were a gossam Shu Mai president of the merchants union and its vice president Cat miin, a Skakoan Wat Tambor foreman of the techno union, an archduke Genosian Poggle and a young Munn San Hill representative of the banking clan, meanwhile Plagueis watched them from a dome with Palpatine at his side:\n\"Look at that Sidious ... what do you see? I ...\"\n\"Darth Sidious ... if it wasn't for your help I would be dead now\"\n\"I'm sorry it will end like this ... but how did you manage to survive such mutilation?\"\n\"With the help of science, technology and the dark side you can make anyone cling to life\"\nPalpatine would remember this forever, even test him with a future apprentice who would need a similar mask for the rest of his life.\n\n\nThe following months Palpatine did the task of Plagueis approaching the now Senator Nute Gunray giving him a pylat bird, the most coveted and rare animal in the galaxy, Palpatine cloned him as part of his trick to get closer to Gunray, and he presented himself as a hologram forever:\n\"Greetings Senator Gunray\"\n\"What? What does this mean? Who are you and how do you manage to interrupt my dinner?\"\n\"Do you like the gift I gave you that pylat bird?\"\n\"It was you? Who are you?\"\n\"Let's say I'm a user of force and let's leave it at that\"\n\"A user of force? Are you a Jedi?\"\n\"No, I am more than that ... I am a sith\"\n\"A Sith? Impossible the Sith are already extinct\"\n\"Are you challenging me? Right now you could forcefully choke your precious pet.\"\nGunray panicked and immediately believed him.\n\"I believe you ... what should I call you?\"\n\"That doesn't matter, just call me Darth Sidious ... what matters here is what we can achieve together\"\nGunray was thoughtful\n\"What do you want to achieve?\"\n\"If you endulge me to rule the galaxy, but for that I need your help\"\nThis was the first time that Palpatine had discovered someone, even though he detested the Neimoidians they were the key not only to the blockade he had in mind but to a galactic-scale war later.\n\"And why me?\"\n\"Because you and I are the same, we both grew up in the shadows, we both had to climb the filthy bureaucracy of this rotten republic to get to where we are, we both have suffered the Jedi order and lost a lot for them, and we both want more\"\nGunray was surprised\n\"What do you want from me?\"\n\"For now your trust ... how he manage to get the main villian of the whole series so if you have a couple minutes here is a little summary of him:
