Episode II Sidge and his Stratification "I want him. I want to be with him. I just can't have him bear what he is and what he will become." "Ias, I am your representative from the elders. I am not authorized to give out advice. I can only tell you what the elders told me to tell you. I am bound, literally, they hold the power over me and will silence me... send me away... if I break it." "I I don't know what to do. Sco... please?" Ias begged. "Ias, you have your land, you have the time, you can do what you want." "I want him, and I want to be with him."Ias whimpered feeling a knawing within but it started to feel different by just a small bit. Hunting was a necessity, Sidge knew this, and stealth was rather hard given his size. Most others of his kind just used their wings and fire to scorch with surprise. Sidge was out of practice, he had found his mother had cared for him for much longer than his brothers and sisters. The question he had pressed just enough that his mother almost came close to sending a jet his way. Longer than most other dragons he knew. Why was this? He wondered and contemplated as far as his brain would let him go while slithering quite the slowest trying to keep his tail from scraping the ground behind him. Up one hill, he dug his claws into the dirt and felt the coolness at once so withdrew his claws from the dirt. The sun wasn't any help, now flashing it's yellow brightness through the deep green oak leaves. The ground was bare here but there, the scent and the track yes the scent tied with that track, a small animal it was but it's odor wasn't bad at all. Small or no, it was worth it. Sidge was famished. He hadn't eaten for a few weeks. After he ate a few animals he would settle down and not have to worry another few. Seems all other animals, the bats, mice, and such seemed always picking about for food. That was, until Sidge scorched them thoroughly and ate them. He licked his maw, his narrow tongue slinking between each pointed tooth. Thinking about food was only making him hungrier.
