CW: public piss, mentions of litter, some alcohol, no sexual WS, but lots of piss mentioned. Synopsis: Nevvie attends Talondon’s street carnival for the first time :3 Focus is on the female characters, but you can be sure every gender is using the city as a urinal throughout. Characters: Nevvie, an anthro Blackface Sheep: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/52515402/ Ruby, an anthro fennec fox made for this story, likely to return as I really like some of her character traits. A large crowd rushes out from the congested train terminus, dispersing into the many streets surrounding it in the city. A sheep from within the scurrying mass of furs briefly stopped under a tree on the pavement. Despite her attire consisting of a simple t-shirt and short skirt, the immense heat baked her soft, woolly fur. She reached into a small handbag that was slung over her shoulder, moving aside an unopened pack of pocket tissues to reach a small water bottle. She retrieved the bottle, which was already half empty, and chugged the rest of its contents. ‘Gosh, I really should have trimmed my wool more…’ Just as she was about to check her phone, a fennec close by called out the sheep’s name, drawing her attention to them. “Nevvie!” “Oh, Rube!” The petite fox charged Nevvie, enthusiastically wrapping her arms around the sheep for a hug. “Surprised you could spot me.” Nevvie remarked, chuckling as she returned the hug around her friend's back. “Oh ha-ha, I’m not that small!” Ruby giggled as they then moved on from their greetings, with Nevvie seeming confused. “So, where do we go from here? Talondon is so confusing…” “I forget you’ve never experienced this! So cute.” The fennec gestured towards all of the furs, a large majority heading the same direction down the street. “See the crowd of people around us? Just follow them.” Pursuing the horde of furs, they merge onto the narrow streets that belonged to Talondon. A city with centuries of history before it. Luckily for the weekend, many of the roads had restricted vehicle traffic due to the annual carnival that is held, allowing for the girls to proceed down the streets without hassle. Nevvie looks back into her handbag, remembering she had fully consumed her water bottle. “I’ve gone through so many water bottles… Speaking of, any idea where the toilets are? Could do with a wee.” “Oh, well there should be plenty when we get there, it’s complicated. -” Midway through Ruby’s comment about the toilets, it piqued Nevvie’s curiosity. Surely it would have elicited a simple answer, however it only left her with more questions as to what the situation was like… “ - But when we see one I’ll join you. Trust me to oversleep and forget to go before leaving.” The fennec said, her own bladder being equally adamant for relief. After a short walk, Nevvie notices Ruby’s large ears twitching. “We’re getting close! The music is just up ahead.” She commented, turning to the sheep as they entered the next street. A clear view of where they needed to go presented itself; up ahead is a makeshift modal filter with police posted by them. The area around them seemed fairly affluent, surprising given the scope of the carnival being hosted. The two walked by century old buildings and townhouses. With shade provided by a row of trees close to the pavement, which Nevvie’s overheating body certainly appreciated. Arriving by the barrier, Nevvie’s face seemed visibly concerned; sure she knew the event was free, but what if the guards approached them? Her friend, however, didn’t hesitate as she walked through the gap the barriers had left on the pavement. As Nevvie pursued, her nerves prompted a tingle in her bladder, she better find a toilet soon. Almost as if she had entered an entirely new location, her senses suddenly became aware of the event taking place. While still distant, the thumping of music could be heard further down the road, and the aroma of various stalls grilling in the open swarming her nose. “We’re here? It’s an entirely different atmosphere!” The sheep asked, somewhat rhetorically. “Yep! There’s a huge area to cover, though we’ll never experience all of it.” Nevvie inspected the street, while it wasn’t busy, carnival goers still occupied a sizable portion of the street. Most were continuing their walk towards the music, as some stopped by the various stalls and shops that were open to serve the event. Her eyes were also drawn to the attention of shops that were closed during the event, some just had their shutters down, however others were boarded up with large wooden panels. Many of the surfaces are covered in graffiti and posters. “From what I’ve heard, I expected it to be busier...” “Nev, we're nowhere near the main attraction! It can only get more crowded.” “In that case, I may grab me an extra water bottle from the shop” Nevvie gestured towards a small local establishment, advertising refreshments and some carnival themed items. “Nab me one too! Not often you find a shop without a line.” Nevvie entered the shop, with ruby opting to wait by the entrance. The thought of water strained the sheep’s bladder as her need was close to becoming desperate. Luckily for her, the drinks section was not hard to spot in such a small place. ‘Oooh they have some Oranta!.. Fuck off is it 2 quid for that size. The bottled water here is overpriced as well. But its not like I have a choice.’ Nevvie thought to herself, begrudgingly picking up two drinks of Oranta and a spare bottle of water. After she sorted this out, the two could finally focus on finding some restrooms. Nevvie exits the store, to see Rube anticipating her friend’s return. The fennec’s legs had been jittering before seeing her friend, she too must be starting to feel desperate. “Mind taking one of these drinks off me? My bag can hardly zip up.” The sheep asked, actively trying to seal her handbag. “Hey, that’s my favourite drink! I doubt you’ll be seeing it again once I have it.” The fennec chuckles, collecting the bottle of oranta before tucking it into a small bag she had with her. “I could really do with that wee now…” “They shouldn’t be far now. Don’t tell me my small bladder is holding on better than you!” The two began to follow the crowd once more. Travelling down the street as the music heard earlier became louder, passing by a plethora of other stands and furs milling around. They passed a couple intersections, checking for any signs of public restrooms to no avail. As they move further down the street, Nevvie stops to check out a sign attached to one of the terraced houses. “Toilets: £3. Queue jump: £5??” “Oh, yeah. Some people rent out the toilets in their home for people to use… For an extortionate price.” “Sod that. Don’t tell me all toilets are like this.” “They clearly appeal to some people! There are free ones I swear, there’s just so many streets to look through…” “Hmph, I’d rather piss in the street at that point. Though not with these crowds.” The sheep tapped her hoof on the street as she talked, now a fight to hold back her need. Ruby continued onwards, her pace increasing as Nevvie struggled to keep up. The amount of furs in the street became more numerous as they progressed. As the two also passed more paid toilets, some even contained porta potties set up in the front garden, likely aiming for a nice profit off from those desperate enough to use it. Ruby, feeling her abdomen ache, peeks down one of the backstreets to find what looked to be public toilets that had been set up, specifically for the carnival. Beckoning Nevvie to follow her around the corner, as she darted towards it. “Hey, wait up Rube!” The sheep shouts, gripping her handbag tight as she runs after her. Arriving close to the toilets, both exhale and try to catch their breath. Nevvie glanced towards the toilets, initially not noticing how improvised they were until she gave it another look. There were crude signs designating that to the left were some open air urinals, and to the right, the toilets. There were wooden panels around the structure to give privacy to anyone inside, but near the floor the bottom of wheelie bins are seen. “Are those… BINS!?” “It isn’t any worse than the toilets you see at festivals, porta potties are never the nicest of things!” “I hope you’re right. There has to be some standards for them if they’re official…” Nevvie, finding the structure incredibly peculiar, gave the urinals a quick peek. Which was just a plastic trough, attached to the back of the wooden panels. With no dividing walls for privacy, anyone could see it from this side of the pavement. For waste management, there was simply a small pipe that was directed into a storm drain that the toilets were built near. “Typical, the urinal side is all free.” Heading around the right side, there was a small but unorganised queue. Furs waiting for any opportunity for a free restroom. “I hope this clears quickly… I’d rather not waste my time waiting to use some bins.” Nevvie comments, her legs pressed gently against her crotch. “This is just midday, usually this carnival picks up in the evening.” “Ugh… Maybe we should lay off the alcohol later, if this is what we’re contending with. You can’t even tell what door is unlocked!” The wait for a free toilet was nothing short of chaos, with some rushing ahead to fill a free cubicle, and others taking what felt like forever. Fortunately it wasn't a long wait before the much more confident Fennec seized an opportunity, entering one of the toilets before anyone else could claim it. Nevvie winced, as bashful as she could be at times. In such an unfamiliar environment she couldn’t help but act sheepish. Either way, she could at least go once Ruby was finished. Now she was less distracted by her friend, the sheep tapped her legs to pre-occupy her mind. It was hardly noticeable, but sporadically, Nevvie would see furs would break apart from the queue. Subtly slipping away towards quieter areas of the street, their spots quickly replaced by other furs who blended in with the others who were waiting. With how chaotic carnival atmosphere was, it’s easy to dismiss it. As the Fennec opens the door, Nevvie darts towards it. Perhaps a bit too eagerly, but at least she’ll get inside. Ruby chuckles to herself, remembering what she was like her first time attending. Nevvie finally had a cubicle to herself, given the makeshift nature of it, the music outside was practically unmuted. With bare wooden walls exposed to all sorts of graffiti. What was also apparent was the odour within it. ‘Wow, it’s this bad. And the carnival began this morning??’ she thought to herself, stepping up the short metal steps that took her to the bin. The top was just a wooden panel, with a hole that had a crudely attached toilet seat to allow a more familiar experience. But that didn’t prepare her for the next part. Inside the bin was just a thick layer of hay to filter any waste it was subjected to. The thought of which was wretched, there was no way she could use these improper facilities, let alone sit down! The metal stairs and wood surrounding it clearly had marks of dampness, whoever used these likely didn’t treat them well either. Not left with another option, plus she was here now, she just had to endure it. She flipped herself around, her posterior pointing towards the seat. Bending her knees slightly to aim for it. With her rump hovering above the seat, she tried her best to ensure it was safe from everything nasty below it, but it’ll have to do. Her short skirt trivialised the next step as all she needed to do was pull her panties aside. With such an unfamiliar experience it took her a couple seconds to start; finally, a torrent of pee blasts below. Her improvised hover did not prove to be as well aimed as she thought, as her urine immediately collided with the seat. The sound of liquid roared against the hollow plastic seat, splashing in all directions as she frantically corrected her angle to direct it into the bin. Which at least projected a mute sound within the cubicle. ‘Fuck!! Oh well. Not like this place was clean anyway.’ However she was blissfully unaware that she had aimed towards the wooden panel at the back, it was just projecting a sound the sheep wasn’t familiar with. Piss ricocheted all along the rear wall as the wood darkened with urine, spreading out along the surface. In the meantime, the sheep slipped her phone from her pocket. Distracting herself as her stream flooded the stall, her pee quickly overflowed the top. Surprisingly wood did not make for an adequate material to absorb piss, causing her mess to drip onto the steps as she was still engrossed browsing social media. With her bladder gradually draining, her stream behind her loses strength, finally arcing into the bin as it should’ve initially before coming to a stop. Putting away her phone, Nevvie was about to reach for her pocket tissues before remembering it was still a ‘toilet’ she was using, so she searched for the bog roll. Naturally, the design of the toilet roll holder was equally as shoddy. It almost looked as if someone took a metal clothes hanger and stuck it onto the wall with the roll dangling from it. Nevvie hesitated, all of the paper was exposed to the elements, it could be contaminated for all she knows. Ironically enough, she opted for her pocket tissues. Fishing them out of her handbag and ripping open the fresh packet. Taking one of the neatly folded wipes, she brushed it along her legs first, cleaning the splashback from earlier. Before a firm wipe over her genitals, all while unaware of the flood made behind her. She wasn’t completely satisfied, Nevvie preferred to escape the tight, filthy space she was surrounded in, no thanks to her contributing to it. Dropping her tissue onto the hay below and then exiting the cubicle to re-enter the fresh air outside. Well, however fresh air in the city would even be. Inside her urine dripped onto the steps and had entirely glazed the surface she had hovered over. Ah well, wasn’t her problem anymore, she was glad to have escaped the surreal experience. Nevvie spotted her friend nearby, conversing with a couple who were also attending the carnival. “Finally out of that anarchy.” The sheep said as she caught up to her friend. “Oh hii! You must be the one your friend was waiting for. We’re dreading using them, might just pay to use someone's toilet instead.” It was a muntjac that responded to Nevvie, she was quite petite in her appearance, especially when compared to other Cervidae. Then her partner, a puffin, chimed into the conversation. “You could just not use the toilet.” “Course you would say that! Don’t mind them, they just like being rude.” Nevvie raises her eyebrow at the thought. While the joke did occur to her earlier, combining the queues for poor quality or even paid facilities, abundant alcohol stalls and the huge quantity of guests. One has to wonder how many write off using or even finding a toilet… Ruby redirects the conversation to what was being discussed before, though not without chuckling at the couple bickering. “Well that is a good thou - Nevermind -” The fennec says, chuckling once more. “What was it you two were saying? About the food stalls?” “Ooh that’s right! Just around this street are a bunch of vendors. It’s packed right now so don’t expect speedy food.” “Huh, that's a different spot than last time. Well it’s next to the park at least, sounds like a good place to start checking out. Thanks!” Expressing each other's gratitudes, the two pairs part ways. With Nevvie and Ruby heeding the couple’s directions. “You took your time in there, I was really getting into our conversation! They’re quite talkative.” The fennec says as they’re walking. Nevvie’s gaze had wandered during the conversation, distracted by the various graffiti covered walls alongside the street. Just after the couple finished speaking, Nevvie swore she heard her friend openly endorse the puffin’s statement… “They seemed friendly. I can never know what to expect out of people at a place like this.” “The people here are great, they all just want to have a fun time. I’ve never felt uncomfortable here.” Passing around the corner, the next street revealed the chaos surrounding the food stalls; multiple lined up beside the park fence, all with organised queues that seeped out onto the street, making any sort of navigation difficult, conflicting with pedestrian traffic attempting to pass the obstructive queues. Immediately beside them, a fur was openly selling fruit flavoured rum in disposable plastic cups. Both the sheep and fennec were still conversing as the seller’s chants could be heard nearby, advertising their wares. Charmed by it, Nevvie was curious to try. “Whatever they’re selling seems nice. I love fruity rum.” “Already craving alcohol huh?” “Oi! It’s only a little bit!” “Alright why not. I want some too. I’ll get it, you did get the oranta earlier.” With some available cash in hand, she could easily pay and obtain the drinks. The two also wanted to nourish themselves before properly indulging in the carnival. Most of the food stalls offered similar products, with some variations here and there. Just seemed like a game of gauging which had the shortest queue. “‘This tastes quite nice. Not that I’m hard to please.” The fennec says, guiding her friend into one of the food queues. She had begun to sip her drink as the two waited. “Oooh it’s sweet. I’d be tempted to grab some more, not like we’re going anywhere.” Ruby smirked, muttering ‘Here we go…’ Under her breath, it turns out she is craving alcohol. “Here’s an idea, I’ll grab us some more once we’ve drunk them. You’ll pay for the food with your card?” The fennec then points to a sign by the food stall, indicating that they did indeed accept card payments. Nevvie nodded in agreement as she was sipping from her drink. Eagerly consuming its tasty contents. After some time waiting in the queue, the line had only progressed slowly, but it wasn’t too excruciating as the two began talking about whatever as they sipped their rum. As Nevvie stood idly consuming her drink, her sight wandered across the bustling area. Yet again another suspicious occurrence slips under her radar, as a dead end street nearby attracts the attention of carnival-goers, particularly the ones desperately grasping at their crotch. They would round the corner and exit back out a minute later, relieved of their troubles. Rivers of unknown liquid even flowed from within, surely it isn't all spilled alcohol… When the two finished their drinks, the fennec exited the line for a refill as they’d discussed earlier. It luckily wasn’t long left, as when they had just finished their second round of drinks, the two would be served next. The process of ordering was similar to any other place; just choosing what item of food you wanted, and it’d be prepared. Albeit in what looked like a much tighter and chaotic environment. With many of the options being jerk roasted, even if the selection of food was familiar to what Nevvie had consumed before, it’d provide a different spin to what she was used to. The two had discussed what they were ordering as they were in the queue. After relaying it to the vendor, they just had another short wait until they could finally eat. —---------------- The duo had found a free spot at the park to eat their food at. The food happened to be a lot spicier than what Nevvie was used to. She had opened her bottle of oranta in an attempt to soothe the exotic seasoning within her mouth. By now she had already drunk two cups worth of rum punch, and a portion of her soft drink. Combine that with her water from earlier and her bladder would already begin to refill. However it was still too early to be bothersome. “Aside from the inferno in my mouth, that was lovely.” Nevvie said, taking the rubbish to one of the nearby bins at the park. Ruby had begun drinking from her own soft drink bottle. “The food here is always great. Though it has left my throat a little dry, or could that have been the alcohol…” “We really need a larger water bottle.” As the sheep was stuffing the takeaway bag into the bin, her friend met up beside her. Ready to finally head to the main street of the carnival. On the topic of water bottles however, as they walked out of the park, Ruby spots a small drinking fountain by the path. “That’s convenient! Since it’s free, I’ll just drink all of my oranta now.” “Good idea, I’d hate to water it down.” They both chug the rest of the liquid from the bottles they had. Ensuring they were empty before refilling them to the brim, as they sure wouldn’t want to go through the effort of finding this spot again. Nevvie took the chance to drink extra water from the tap for good measure, enjoying the cool, refreshing water in such warm weather. Emerging from the park, Ruby led the way as they approached a different street. From there, a large procession of furs could be seen at the junction ahead. It was evidently crowded from the sea of people moving in one continuous direction. The fennec points towards it, just as music begins blasting from one of the slow moving floats within the procession. Nevvie’s bladder would tingle slightly, the pressure enough to be noticeable, though it was nothing to be concerned about. She was more distracted by the carnival right now. A similar ordeal was occuring with Ruby, although her petite bladder would be a lot more susceptible to the quantity of the liquid she had drank… Vibrations beneath the two of them strengthen, as the extraordinary spectacle draws closer, the sheer scale of the carnival being realised as there didn’t appear to be an end to the crowd. As they're blocked by the wall of furs at the junction, both directions reveal a never ending wave of dancing furries tailing the vehicles within the procession. A semi truck trundled along with them, attached with a hollowed out trailer allowing for a small stage of performers, and naturally another set of speakers to blast music from. “This seems like a fun time to jump in. Try not to lose me~” “Hey no fair!” Nevvie’s friend slots into an open gap at the edge of the crowd. Upon closer inspection, there were a lot more spaces to slot between than Nevvie had initially been worried about. That didn’t stop the prospect of coasting along a street with thousands of others nearby incredibly daunting, claustrophobic even. Becoming lost seemed less desirable though, so she acted fast. Pursuing her friend once she had entered, there was still enough room that she could stick behind Ruby. Now moving in tandem with the partying crowd. The overwhelming swarm of carnival-goers encompassed the entire width of the main street, leaving only a small slither of space by the pavement to allow for the businesses that were open to operate, and to facilitate some mobility for those who dared counter the direction of the crowd. Many houses that found themselves beside the procession were also boarded up, blocking any means of entry. The ones that weren’t had owners that were otherwise sitting beside their door or balcony, observing the bustling carnival. Or those that were particularly savvy were offering some sort of service such as use of their facilities like on the other streets, or as a means of guests to re-hydrate themself. Many guests around the two girls were adorned with accessories and even instruments. Chiming in discordantly with the music, only contributing to the chaotic aura as many others attempt conversations amongst the chaos. Though it wasn’t a major detraction from the eager and exciting atmosphere encompassing the whole experience. Navigating past the side streets along the way, they naturally served as a means for carnival goers to depart or arrive into the crowd. It was otherwise staggering to see the streets by comparison, often with significantly less people. Then there were streets that appeared equally as busy, they typically operated stalls within them and other activities for carnival goers to enjoy. The whole area was overall more congested than earlier that was for sure. The temporary toilets arranged by the upcoming side streets were observed to have insane queues, indicating to Nevvie she’d be required to wait much longer, next time she wanted to go. There’s no way a couple of wheelie bins slapped together can accommodate thousands of guests from the procession… The sight of them alerting her to her bladder's own situation. One that would rapidly become uncomfortable to deal with, especially as it felt extra sensitive from her nervousness. Thanks to the rum drank earlier the two of them felt slightly tipsy, which may have enhanced their experience. There was certainly a certain surreal and fun atmosphere to see so many others partying and enjoying themselves with the music. The contrast between the vibrant colours and carnival decorations displayed everywhere was a unique sight against the architecturally antiquated townhouses and pubs, mixed with gothic religious structures and modern, grey service buildings. There were many more of those alcohol vendors along the way, offering other types of fruit themed rum for those who walked past. The friends naturally swayed into purchasing more, drinking them as they vibed with the music alongside the convoy. The trucks were designated to follow a route, looping within the inner carnival area that had been defined in the city. Just as Nevvie and Ruby approached an upcoming curve on the route, they dipped out from the crowd in the nearest street to recalibrate their bearings. By now both of them were keen on relieving themselves, but that would be easier said than done. “Phew, I could do with a quick rest.” Ruby said, leaning against a fence. The street they were on had nothing significant along it, mostly serving as an additional thoroughfare to depart or join the procession. “I didn’t expect anyone to start lobbing paint around. It landed everywhere.” Nevvie commented, joining her friend against the fence. “You seem fine, some landed over my ears.” The fennec said giggling, the fur over her ears covered with some bright green paint. “Imagine if it landed over my wool…” “Ahh it’d wash off easily!” “Well while we’re here, I might just find the nearest loo.” “Hmm…” Ruby attempts to scout both directions. Though that was difficult, considering one side is obscured by the wall of furries. “I can’t see anything down there, are you able to spot anything past the crowd?” “There better be nicer toilets than the ones from earlier. Though, I don’t exactly have change for the paid ones if it came to it…” Nevvie props herself onto the fence for balance, leaning on the tip of her hooves as she just spots the top of some restrooms over the other side of the crowd. “Oh! I see some, not many waiting either!” The two edge closer to the procession, trying to scope out any opportune time to intersect through them. The fennec felt her abdomen pang, she had gotten way too into the carnival to notice her need creep up. They move slowly into the moving wall of pedestrian traffic, forcing furs to swerve around the girls as they balance the risk of bumping into them. Progress was futile, any steps they could make, it was immediately followed by backtracking. “There’ll be more toilets up the street anyway, it’s impossible like this!” Ruby communicated to her friend, who was a couple steps back. She was worried that her short stature left her vulnerable to any careless member of the crowd knocking her over. With that idea having utterly failed, they follow the procession like before. Only concerned with what they could see on the right. The walk helped distract the sheep from her bladder’s need, though sudden bouts of aching was a harsh reminder of why they needed to find a toilet fast. Passing the next street, there didn’t seem to be any luck. Same with the following. It felt as if there was one being spotted on every street earlier… Upon seeing the next lane, there were finally some toilets. More of the improvised bins it seemed. While shoddy, and probably unsanitary. They were better than nothing? The two darted out from the main road, joining the queue that had backed all the way up to the wall of the terraced houses. Making it difficult for anyone wishing to pass through. “Does there really have to be a huge wait?” Nevvie exclaims, standing still, there wasn’t much to satiate her bladder's pain. Causing her hooves to tap on the asphalt impatiently “Hmmf - We could find some more. This is only the first we’ve come across. Well first that we can actually bloody reach.” Ruby replied, herself sounding frustrated too. Nevvie noticed one of the houses behind the toilets, offering porta potties in the front garden. They appeared as luxury alternatives by comparison, the line (or lack thereof) outside equally as attractive, but nonetheless, there had to be more free options. They returned back onto the main street, a much rowdier aura emanated from the partying. Perhaps it was the amount of alcohol consumed at this point, or just the sheer amount of people. There had to be those seeking more excitement. A couple furs had climbed atop a nearby bus stop, dancing over it as the procession walked past. An amusing sight for sure. Though the space between everyone felt tightening, not that they had a reason to enter the depths of the crowd. The next set of toilets they passed seemed equally as busy, some furs visibly desperate as they waited, bobbing back and forth, and others with strained muzzles. Over the many queues observed, naturally they were dominated by furs who didn’t have the convenience of whipping it wherever it was convenient, but surely the small slither of urinals provided wouldn’t have been enough either? The next couple of streets offered no relief for the two, any toilets found would be in a similar situation. They heavily considered caving in and paying to use a resident’s toilet instead. Despaired, Ruby leads Nevvie off from the crowd, finding themselves in a less hectic side street once again. “There has to be more toilets, maybe down this street. It's a lot quieter.” The fennec said, a hint of panic in her voice. As the sheep listened, her sight became distracted by a red fox in the background. The canid was seen desperately bouncing on the spot, checking their surroundings before slipping through a small gate by the pavement, disappearing down into a sunken “area”. The type that was common in this city. “Gosh, I need to piss. Like now.” “I’m half tempted to squat between some cars…” “Hah, it’d be easy for you to do!” “Because I’m short?!” The fennec replied heartily, chuckling from Nevvie’s remark. As the two conversed, the fox reappeared from the sunken area, casually walking to rejoin the procession on the main street. An avian that had been nonchalantly waiting by the entrance to the gate, entered it next. They waited as if to not imply there was a queue. With no sign indicating what was there, perhaps there was a non-disclosed bathroom downstairs? “We might be lucky, just look over there.” Nevvie pointed to the open gate she had noticed the carnival-goers enter. Ruby could only see the gate and brick wall behind it. She had similar suspicions to her friend at what it potentially hid. Knowing it would lead them below street level, at least it would hide them, should the place prove useful… “We better be, I’m about to burst!” From the middle of the street, they approach the fence, intending to see just what it was from above. For Ruby, the walk felt more like a waddle. With her paws firmly between her crotch. Drawing closer, a potent scent began filling the air. While many places in the city had this aroma, this one felt particularly strong. However, just over the sound of music and partying, a loud patter of liquid could be heard, reverberating from the small space below. On street level, Nevvie leaned over the fence, observing what was directly underneath her; it was a small alcove, around basement level. It had a door beside it which was certainly not the entrance to a bathroom. In fact, the sunken alcove was the bathroom! Including some damp steps, the entire concrete space is coated in urine, explaining the potent smell lingering in the air. Tissues and other litter were strewn across the concrete, added to by those that have used the spot and careless passersby above. The surface itself was uneven, causing the corners to to be especially soaked with shallow puddles. The walls were equally marked, with multiple darkened patches on them, they’ve barely seen any time to dry. The avian Nevvie spotted was just finishing up, shaking his penis to dry it of any pee. It was very evident what he had used the spot for. “Ah” Nevvie was shocked by the revelation. Surprised at just how casually the carnival-goers used the ‘urinal’. Although she wasn’t one to pass up an opportunity such as this, she wondered what Ruby thou- “Everyone’s using it anyway…” Ruby’s brazen attitude further shocked Nevvie. Interrupting her train of thought. As surely her friend wouldn’t be that blatant about it. The two stand beside the gate. Waiting as patiently as they could for the avian to exit the narrow stairs. As soon as he did, it wasn’t a few seconds before the area was occupied once again, as the pair rushed past the gate. As they descended the stairs, the music blaring from the street muffled, almost emulating the ambience of a nightclub bathroom. The scent was equally authentic… “Fucking rank. It totally reeks in here.” Nevvie commented with her nose scrunching at the potent aroma of urine. Already she was squatting, hovering over the concrete, actively pulling her panties aside. Ruby stood beside her friend. Following suit as she turned her back towards the door. Tugging her damp knickers down to her knees just in time for them not to become soaked. “What do you expect with such shit toilets…” Immediately the vibe of muffled music became overturned by their relief. The fennec sighing blissfully as her urine blasted the well used floor as her friend did the same. A chorus of both their streams colliding onto the shallow liquid surface. The puddles beside them rippled as yet more piss is being added below. “Ahhh, fuuuck~” Shadows projected into the sunken alcove from the furs above that walked by, oblivious to the girls' activity. Nevvie’s pee impacted one of the many floating tissues found in the compact space, causing its already softened fabric to rip apart and float away. The fennec felt her bladder cease aching, as it poured its contents onto the floor. Too succumbed in bliss to care about how public it was. After all, they are far from the first to do so. “Gosh, I just keep pissing…” Ruby sighed, causing them both to giggle. “I’m so glad we finally found a ‘restroom’” Nevvie herself was too succumbed in her relief to fully process how surreal each restroom break had been so far. She had her doubts about the toilet situation before, but now it made a lot more sense. Locations like this must be prevalent across the whole event. With how close this one is to the procession, the ground is likely beset for severe flooding throughout the whole weekend. The fennec sighed in bliss, astonished at how much her small bladder contained, as hers continued to empty onto the stained concrete. Although that couldn’t understate how grateful she was to have found somewhere private to relieve her bladder, she would have surely wet herself had she waited to use a bin again. Though it still wasn’t a match for Nevvie’s, as the Ruby’s stream eventually waned in strength before her friends’ did. Her senses began to realign with what occurred around her; the noises from above the alcove having overtaken the sighs of relief and splashing from earlier. Almost blushing from the fact she and her friend had just urinated in public with one another. It might not have been the first time, but it certainly had never happened in such a crowded environment before. Although that still didn’t mean she was finished, combined with the damp patch over her crotch, and her dribbling wee, next she required something to ensure she was clean… “Hey Nev… You wouldn’t happen to have any tissues on ya?” “Hmm? Oh, of course.” The sheep swiftly reached into the handbag that was slung over her shoulder, retrieving the pocket tissues she had opened earlier and extending her arm to offer them. Ruby hastily grabbed whatever her paws clutched on, plucking a couple from the pack. “Cheers.” Nevvie’s stream would slow to a trickle as her friend separated a tissue to use, prompting the sheep to take one for herself while she still held the packet. Meanwhile it felt as if the puddle of piss had risen by a couple millimetres after being subjected to two bursting bladders… “Can’t wait to not be stepping in piss.” Nevvie said as she tucked away the packet of tissues. Ruby took another look at her surroundings, before replying with a chuckle. “Yeah, this place really is a mess. But I wouldn’t be so sure about the streets either.” “Oh?” Together the girls cleaned themselves off. The fennec used her tissue to thoroughly wipe around her vulva, ridding most of the dampness. Ruby was grateful her friend provided something to wipe with, a simple shake would not have been enough to dry her crotch. She didn’t have much use for the other tissues she took, nor did she consciously consider them useful for later. Without an extra thought, she carelessly dropped them onto the concrete, the pile of soft paper slowly soaking in the puddle below. Nevvie was content with a quick swipe of her tissue, scrunching it in her hand before lobbing it behind her when she was done, adding to an existing pile of used tissue. “I feel so much better.” Ruby said as she stood back up, readjusting her knickers and skirt. Her friend mirrored the fennec’s actions as they both got ready to leave the improvised ‘urinals’. “If the restrooms are still impossible to use, I’m coming back here. The actual toilets ain’t much better.” The two exit up the stairs to reenter the street, the thick aroma of urine still present as the ambience from the sound systems picks up in volume. Just as they did a couple minutes ago, a lioness that was waiting nearby scurried through the gate, followed by her partner. That spot would never get a break at this rate. Given the chaos that ensued within the procession, the ladies would instead wander down the back street. The quieter ambience relaxed Nevvie, basking in the shade the tree lined street provided, useful for a day as humid as it was. Although Nevvie’s focus soon drifted back onto the street. It seems so obvious now but… There were obvious puddles spreading along the pavement, she could even spot a couple furs perched by various alcoves and besides trees on the street, where many of the puddles originate. How could she have not noticed? What’s more is that none of the passersby seemed to care, that's when Nevvie turned to Ruby. “You know Rube, what you said back there. About… stepping in piss in the street.” “Yeah?” “I think I understand what you mean…” —------------ “Really regretting not being better prepared right now.” Nevvie reluctantly purchases another few bottles of flavoured liquid. Following what had been an afternoon of intense heat and miles of exploring the festivities. “Or at least remember where the water dispensers are. I’m absolutely parched!” Her friend pants, immediately seizing one of the bottles to chug its contents. Re-entering the busy street, the sun had gently been lowering from its spot in the sky. On the brink of turning into the evening, luckily the two still had a couple hours before the carnival had to cease before nightfall. Nearby were a couple of speakers, arranged beside a stage that blared music towards a large crowd that had congregated nearby. The friends thought it’d be a good time as any to loiter beside the other carnival-goers. Vibing with the music as they collectively regain their energy With such a large gathering of furs, it was inevitable that the sheep could spot some spontaneously break from the crowd, heading for either an alley or any other semi-secluded spot nearby. With however long the sound system has been around for, various large streaks of urine had actively pooled onto the street, flowing into the drains on the road. Other furs were a bit more brazen, finding any tree or low fence as adequate cover. There was even a wall lined with furries using it all at once, various waist height marks spread across the wall as the pavement below was practically a lake. Prompting Nevvie to scoff and comment ‘Having a cock is just cheating’. As even the nearby security chose not to interact with them, but it’s not like they could do anything to prevent it. However, with how much liquid she had consumed, the sheep’s own need was catching up to her. The same occurred to Ruby, the pressure once again disproportionately affecting her smaller bladder. Though with her stomach suddenly rumbling, that can wait for now. The fennec decided to prioritise another need. “How about we find something to eat again? It’s been hours since our last meal.” “Sure, don’t wanna bore my legs by waiting around.” “I can feel another need to wee though, so if there’s any quiet spots on the way I may just take the chance…” Ruby exercised her snout, attempting to locate any source of food within the area. A difficult task with how many different scents filled the air; a melting pot of food, body odour and the faintest hint of urine. “Mayybe this way?” She points towards a street close by. It was not like they had a better lead to go off of, so the two wandered away from the crowd. They weave around the horde of carnival goers, many of them inebriated or outright drunk by this time of day. Which certainly did not help when it came to navigating past them. Progressing down the asphalt, Nevvie spots a couple of traditional red phone booths on the pavement nearby, urging her friend to check them out. As novel as it would be to finally see one in real life, the blurred exterior was also an equally as inviting reason to see them… Upon closer inspection, they already appeared to be serving as a private cubicle. Accompanied by their own queue of furs waiting to use them. With how common mobile phones are, it was doubtful that they were all waiting to make calls in there. At one queue, a Pheasant strolled out from the inside. Still adjusting his fly whilst the red fox lady at the front of the queue was engaged in conversation with her friends, laughing timidly with them as they all waited in queue. She seemed whelmed with nervousness and embarrassment as those friends encouraged her. The fox likely in disbelief herself with what she was about to do. “It’s tempting, but the whole point is you avoid the queue!” Nevvie pouts, gesturing towards the sizable line surrounding the booths. “Look at it this way, they provide decent privacy, and they’re free!” Ruby remarked, chuckling. Maybe Nevvie could hold off seeing one until later. Back towards the phone booth, the fox from before had entered, with liquid pouring from underneath the door, trailing alongside the stains from previous occupants. Seemed she finally mustered enough courage to use it. The two didn’t appear to be closer to any food vendors, perhaps many were running out of stock by now. However this is while their bladders were gradually stocking up with their own supply. With most secluded places they pass too uncomfortable for them to attempt going in. The provided public toilets were not even an option they considered. Especially given the state they’d be in after hours of constant use, regardless if the wait was quick or not. Approaching the next intersection, Nevvie’s engages her own senses; a whiff of freshly cooked food drawing her attention. “Hey, I think there might be some this way.” The sheep points down a road she suspects would have a couple vendors on. “Would prefer to find a spot for a quick slash before we eat though…” Ahead, a wrought iron bridge marked the location of the next intersection. The span of it seen above the road as a metro train passed over it, its whirring inaudible against the loud ambience of the carnival. Steadily approaching the landmark, Nev and Rube pass by more of the usual barricaded properties. The fennec gestured towards one that had the gate unlocked, leading to a level patio with vegetation providing convenient cover along the rest of the fence. Nearing the fence, she spots a couple of figures moving behind the leaves. Much like the other instances, the concrete around the soil was visibly wet, running in a gentle stream underneath the metal gate. “This place is occupied too!” “Not sure I’d wanna risk going in there anyway, they could have one of those digital doorbells.” “Truee, I don’t exactly wanna see myself online. Though if I’m about to burst…” Ruby replied, smirking at her friend as they restarted their walk. Once again weaving past other furs as the bridge in the distance draws closer. The multiple stains of pee on the pavement could only tease the desperate friends. Rumbling from in front of the girls, another train vibrates the iron bridge above. As Nevvie suspected, the aroma of food was more prevalent. Steam from the open air grills filtered through the air, the sight of makeshift food vendors appearing into view beside the intersection. “Looks like we can soon sort out dinner. Though it looks like it’ll be a long wait yet again.” “Well unless they let me pee in line, I won’t be able to stand holding that long!” “There has to be toilets near here at least.” Sunlight becomes obscured as they pass below the bridge. The corner of the road had been cordoned off by multiple large metal fence segments, ones you’d find at construction sites. The exterior of the fence was covered in advertisements and other posters, making it hard to see within. Although there was a small gap where the fence was not flush with the brick wall it started next to. Ruby, being curious, peeked through it as they walked beside it. To no one's surprise at this point, apart from it acting as storage for other segments of the metal fence, and other temporary installations for the carnival. The small gap had allowed for furs to ‘occupy’ the inside. Serving as the nearby toilets for the food stalls. Ruby immediately grabs her friends’ attention. “Hey, Nev! There’s loads of space in here.” The sheep stops to investigate it too, seeing a cervine squatting behind one of the stored fences as cover. Urine flowed between the antiquated brick tiling of the pavement towards the street, creating a fast flow of water just before it reached the street’s drainage. There are other visible dark patches along the wall and on the stored equipment too. “It’s so open… But also a really inviting place to piss.” It wasn’t a tight squeeze, but any larger anthro would likely have trouble entering through the gap. No problem for Ruby of course. With a clearer view inside, they saw another occupant; an equine that was minding their own business, spraying the back of an advertisement attached to the metal fence. Ruby and Nevvie accompany one another towards the wall at the back. Their situation was not as dire this time around, but it’s hard to pass up such an opportune time to reset the bladder. The fennec casually squats with her back to the wall, pulling her knickers to her knees, without a fuss her urine sprays onto the already darkened brick tiles. At least these had some drainage to prevent pooling as her pee streams down the gaps, distributing itself further down the pavement. Nevvie pursues a similar position, though her pee stutters. Failing to gain much strength as the stream dribbles down her woollen bum. ‘I really should be used to this by now…” The sheep closes her eyes, the sound of her friend’s own pee somewhat soothed her mind. She wasn’t alone after all. Eventually, Nevvie’s pee finally gains strength to arc onto the floor, joining Ruby as they pee in unison. The cervine in the corner had left by now, just as a couple of furs wiggled between the gap. Naturally occupying the corner that had been freed up for them. Ruby relaxed her body, face visibly displaying the fennec’s relief. She was certainly more comfortable than Nevvie doing this. The sheep couldn’t help but glance at the other furs that entered either, seeing them deposit their own bladders so close by. Acting oblivious to their surroundings, just like they were using any normal restroom. For Nevvie, a normal evening at the pub would often result in an emergency call in the bushes or an alley. Which are mostly out of sight and under cover of darkness. However this was something else, is it just the norm for the city, or does the event just have this effect on people?? As her bladder wasn’t as full as the last time, her stream soon fades in strength. The sound of her cascading urine hitting the paved floor began being drowned out by thudding music and the other guest’s peeing and chattering from within the fenced area. Nevvie reaches into her handbag for yet more pocket tissues, much of the packet used at this point. Even if she hadn’t peed as long this time, her fur was quite damp… “Here, you might need this.” Nevvie withdraws a tissue and teasingly offers it to Ruby, which snaps her out of her blissful wee. The fennec plucks it from her friend, her stream still going strong. “Oh! You read my mind.” Nevvie takes another tissue from the pack, scrunching it in her paws as she quickly parted her legs apart to lower the tissue underneath, applying the scrunched paper onto her damp crotch. With a single swipe across her sensitive area. She discards the used tissue below onto the ground, then snatching another out to hastily rub the droplets of urine around her bum, dropping that next to her other tissue. Her friend was folding her tissue in preparation, being much neater in comparison. Ruby was surprised how much pee she had left, as only now had her urethra stopped gushing with urine. Only a couple seconds later had all pressure stopped, following with a couple soft dabs of the tissue over her crotch, using the drier side of the tissue to wipe along her thighs for any splashback. Once done like with her friend, as there weren’t any bins around anyway, she lets it drop onto the already messy ground below. As Nevvie stood back up, about to stow away her packet of tissues, one of the furs beside them signalled the sheep. “‘Scuse me for a sec… Mind if I have one of those to wipe with too?” From the look of the fresh puddle, some of it still flowing down the pavement, she had just finished pissing. Nevvie still had a couple wads to spare, so she held out the open pack to the Coyote. “Yeah sure, just be sure to leave some for later.” “Thanks so much. I’ll be sure to, wiggling ya bum just doesn’t cut it…” The sheep chuckled as the squatting canine picked some loose tissue from within. With the duo heading back towards the gap, they leave the coyote to clean herself. The situation being amusing to Ruby. “Making friends huh?” She comments, squeezing back out into the street with ease. “It must be what it’s like taking a smoke break. Except I’m offering tissues instead of a lighter.” Nevvie follows her friend out, swinging back to the direction of the food vendors. Ruby let out a chuckle at Nevvie’s analogy. “I hate how much that makes sense.” “And maybe I prefer this type of ‘break’ too.” “Anywhere other than the toilets here… I’m glad everyone else understands.” “My bladder woulda kept bugging me had we waited to use the official ones…” “Yeah, and now we can eat without that hassle~” —--------------- Nevvie felt her calves ache, her hooves equally begging for a prolonged rest. Though finally for their last destination; the terminus Nevvie had first arrived from. Concluding the day with somewhere familiar before the sun could set below the horizon. “Bet you’ll be heading straight into bed.” Ruby remarked, nudging her friend as they walked. “If I don’t collapse by then. And you say there’s another day of this?” “Yep! Starts again tomorrow morning. Sorry you couldn’t stay round mine this time.” “It’s fine really, pretty sure the hotel bed is comfier than the sofa anyway” Nevvie chortles. Recalling how Ruby shared an apartment with one of her friends, but arranging a stay over was difficult. But it was worth it even if it meant staying on the sofa, though maybe not with such sore legs… However, reaching the station was going to be another arduous task. Many of the carnival goers that had entered the city previously, were heading the opposite direction, back towards the various stations surrounding the area. Though it was nothing like the crowds they had seen earlier. Ruby took the last gulp from her water bottle, huffing as her throat was still parched. “Hey Nev, please tell me you have some water left.” “Here, we can refill them again at the station.” As the carnival settled down, the extent of the festivities were well displayed on the streets. Bins overflowed with disposable cups and take away packaging, many of which were found strewn carelessly across the street. The contents of the cups likely emptied onto the street too. That’s not to mention the various alcoves and corners that were drenched in urine and piled with tissues. Even in residents' gardens, puddles spread from within gates, as they had enticed those seeking privacy. Not a single street had been spared from the chaos. As Nevvie retraced her steps towards the train station, each turn revealed the mess left behind, having transformed the street since she had walked through. Exiting the boundary of the carnival, the atmosphere felt as if it switched. With streets that didn’t resemble a warzone, and air being replaced by the lovely aroma of exhaust fumes. Nevvie was nearing the station by now, trundling along with Ruby beside her. Both of them enter the main concourse inside the terminus station. As it’s crowded by vibrantly decorated carnival-goers amongst regular passengers and commuters. Nevvie took the time to refill her water bottle at one of the free dispensers that train stations have, as Ruby had slumped onto a bench nearby. “Want to take a sip while there’s water, Rube?” Nevvie asked her fennec friend as she sat down beside her. Taking a few gulps as she intended to utilise said water dispenser as much as possible. “Oh go on. After all this I might just oversleep intentionally.” Soon after, the two eventually decide to tackle the fare barriers. Entering through them as the two intended to get home by train anyway. “I’ll cya soon then!” Nevvie exclaims, approaching Ruby to exchange a tired, but tight hug. “Should text me when you get to the hotel” “Definitely! Doubt I’ll get any signal until I get there anyway.” The two part ways as they head for a different metro line. To reach her hotel, Nevvie’s fastest choice is a newly opened express metro line. However unbeknownst to her, the service has frequently seen disruptions since its debut. Surely she won’t encounter any of these issues…
