No characters have names, except for the fox carrying out all the the operations -- Richard Gunderson. He's a pediatrician hired out by boarding schools and local families for this exact purpose, and he's friends with the bull administrator who has no name. He gets no sexual satisfaction out of performing circumcisions on children with no pain killers, rather a narcissistic one (provided he's in a good mood, that is). In truth, he's almost indifferent; he just considers it easy money, and is enlightened enough to realize he's likely just messing up the child's sexual development, but it's what the boarding schools and few local families want.\n\nSome might wonder why the pain killers? The title (I hope) would shed some light on that... while the boy couldn't get out of it, he was able to buy himself a much more minimalistic circumcision and painkillers. But at what price? Well, he was shown suckling on the older bull's fingers moments before they would have begun operating on him, causing the bull to pitch a tent in his trousers... that's probably got something to do with it, seeing how the bull's now whispering stuff in his ear. Is he comforting him or describing what he's going to do to earn those painkillers and the extra skin later on?\n\nThis is the 5th in the series and there will be more. Considering I'm no doctor and I don't think Vonredwing is either, these commissions are coming out really well. All I have is knowledge I've pick up from books and the web, and it's second-hand information passed on in a commission. Says a lot about how well she communicates and can draw emotional scenes, which is part of what this series hinges on. I recommend her.
