A gentle breeze blew against the cloak she was wearing, making it flap gently. Her cat like eyes scanned the seemingly endless twilight expanse. She remained quiet even when the wind picked up more and blew the cloak back behind her, showing the fox like color pattern. The dark purple fur started on her back and faded to pink as it got closer to the front of her torso, down her arms, legs, to the espeon like ears and thick, kangaroo like tail. Where the pink stopped on her torso, a blue-pink color began and faded to a pink-ish white. On the back of each ear was a silver crescent moon that faced towards the white Mohawk of hair. Pulling cloak back around her, Madilivani grunted in a bit of anger but paused as she hear footsteps approaching her. Her eyes narrowed and softly illuminated as the spot under her feet-paws turned bright blue and two hand like tentacles appeared.\n\n ``Who's there and why are you disturbing me?'' She asked with a growl, slowing turning around to see who it was. She blinked as lizard dressing her red and gold robes stood just at the doorway to the stairwell. He smiled a little as Madilivani dismissed her tentacles. ``Dukulon Zekrese...?''\n\n ``Yes my dear Madi as I have been looking for you.'' He asked with a warm, peaceful voice. ``I figured you'd be here as when you're upset, you come here to relax.''\n\n Crossing her arms, Madilivani huffed and moved closer to the Dukulon. ``Don't you have Duke-stuff to do?'' She asked as her eyes returned to normal. ``I wanted to be alone.''\n\n ``Yes...and no.'' He replied watching as Madilivani moved within 4 feet of him. ``I'm just here to tell you that, I'm sending you on an assignment.'' This made Madilivani grin slightly. ``But your sister has to go with you.''\n\n ``What? Why?'' She asked as a tentacle formed in front of the Dukulon and flipped him off. ``She's...immature for trying to be a guard.''\n\n ``Oh that's none-sense Madi as I feel Mika is ready for an assignment to test her and see if she's ready for the trials to get her rank.'' He said moving in and patting the tentacle like it was a pet. \n\n ``I guess I have no choice in the matter.'' She said dismissing the tentacle and looking away from the Dukulon. \n\n ``Seriously Madilivani, you need to tone down that pride of yours.'' He said sternly. ``It's going to back fire on you one day.'' He sighed as Madilivani looked him square in the eyes. \n\n ``And I'll be ready for it.'' She said firmly as the wind pick up some. ``What about the anomaly? Is there any more information about it?''\n\n ``It's not a threat anyone or anything at this time but the Intel team is still working on it.'' Dukulon said as Madilivani started to calm down. ``Just remember...''\n\n ``...our duty as The Guard is to protect us and the world of light from any danger, yes I know this Dukulon.'' She said seemingly annoyed now.\n\n ``Madi...pride, watch it.'' He retorted. ``Meet your sister at the Hy-Field waypoint; she has the information you need.''\n\n ``Duk...her...information...do you want me to lose brain cells here?'' She asked looking more concerned. ``Mika and information is like...trusting Rizor with my job. Both of them are bad ideas.''\n\n ``Don't worry Madi, I'll assure you Mika has and will handle it with care.'' He said sounding a little more desperate. ``All I need you to do, is carry out the assignment and report back.'' The Dukulon sighed and walked away from Madilivani leaving her speechless but annoyed.\n\n Looking around again, Madilivani looked towards the north seeing a small area of clear sky in the distance. Hy-Field, isn't supposed to be disabled? She thought as her eyes narrowed. What is going on there that they would reactivate that waypoint? With a groan, Madilivani left the top of the tower, walking down and out the front door. She looked over at the clear spot in the sky before starting the trek to Hy-Field.\n\n As she walked, her mind raced thoughts as to what could be going on at Hy-Field. She watched the mountainous area slowly became an endless sea of grass and slowly walked towards the waypoint, figuring her sister could wait a while. Closing her eyes, Vani walked with her arms spread, holding the cloak open as she enjoyed the gentle breeze against her naked body. She grinned and lowered her arms letting the cloak cover her body again. The grass gave way to a small rock formation with a cloaked figure standing under a slowly spinning portal. Madilivani watched the portal for a moment before the cloaked figured faced her and lowered the hood.\n\n Abranimika stood slightly shorter than her sister but shared the same shape. Unlike Vani, Mika had dark red fur than faded to orange from the back to the front. Where the orange stopped, yellow picked up and faded into a smoke-white color. She sported the same crescent moons on her ears and the white Mohawk. Mika smiled some at the sight of her sister, who walked up next to her. Vani looked at her sister and up to the portal before looking back at her sister again. Mika's expression changed to a confused look as Vani looked up at the portal again.\n\n ``Is something wrong sis?'' Mika asked as Vani locked eyes with her. \n\n ``Kind of...this portal was supposed to be disabled.'' Vani said crossing her arms. ``Why is it active?''\n\n Mika shrugged not knowing the answer either but handed her sister a piece of paper. ``Dukulon Zekrese told me to give you this though.'' She replied as Vani took the paper and read it:\n\n To Madi and Mika of The Guard: the Hy-Field portal was forcefully activated in response to some intelligence that someone in the World of Light has found a way to block us from opening portals normally. I have a feeling it is some kind of Axendra Prism and the source seems to come from this portal. Please investigate and destroy the prism if you have to. Be careful ladies, as you know the effects of Axendra on our kind and I can't afford to lose you. - Dukulon Zekrese II\n\n Slightly confused, Mika looked at her sister and just blink. ``What's Axendra and why do we need to be careful around it?''\n\n Vani folded the piece of paper and narrowed her eyes as he looked up at the portal. ``It's a type of gemstone that can disable the power of any Twili that touches it.'' Mika's expression changed from confused to concern. ``However, it's dependent on the size of the gem. Smaller ones like the ones in most jewelry, an in my experience, are more of an annoyance than disabling. However, once you get them up to the size of a quarter...'' Vani paused for a second. ``...would be to disable me for a while but a few hours at max.''\n\n ``So, what will be done about the prism?'' Mika asked moving closer to her sister, place a hand on her shoulder. ``What can we do about it?''\n\n ``It's one my fears but as long as neither one of us touches it bare handed we can destroy it.'' Vani said as her blue colored tentacles formed at her feetpaws. ``Something as simple as a hammer would do.'' The hand like tentacles reached up towards the portal which starts to glow.\n\n ``One last question: if the Duke said it can block us from opening portals, why are able to use this portal?'' Mika asked as Madilivani's tentacles enter the portal.\n\n ``These were created by the Sages a long time ago during the war. They allowed the Twili at the time to travel into the world of light in large numbers to fight the ``Dark Force'' that invaded.'' Vani said as the magical whir sounded as the portal was opened and ready. ``With the power of the Sages, it would take an astronomically large piece of Axendra to disable it...'' She pauses for a moment. ``...like one the size of a large car from earth.'' \n\n ``I understand it now.'' Mika said as he looked up in the portal. ``But it works the same as if we open a portal?'' \n\n Vani nods slowly. ``As long as it's night time in the part of the world we are pulling a target from.''\n\n \n\n45 minutes earlier...\n\n \n\n Vega walked slowly through the flea market with looking at the remaining dealer's tables as the closing announcement came on. She was wearing a pair of blue denim shorts and a white crop top shirt that said: Magic City on the bust. A spring clip with a small cylinder hung from the belt above the right pocket. A soft sigh escaped from her as she turned and looked at her twin brother who was just a few steps behind her. He wore the same exact attire and had the same clip on his shorts. The red panda walked toward a booth with purple drapes blocking the sides and a red one covering the table. She stopped and looked at the table seeing a wide assortment of jewelry with gemstones on them. The male caught up and gasped seeing the jewelry.\n\n ``Hey Vega, let's get something from here as no one else had anything we like.'' He said and promptly got a nod from Vega.\n\n ``You're right Vita, I thought we had wasted her time coming here.'' She said looking over the jewelry. Her eyes stopped on a silver necklace with an alexandrite baguette about the size of a penny on it.\n\n A few seconds later, someone wearing a cloak walks through the curtain behind the counter, simply watching Vega and Vita. The figure made a hum noise seeing the red pandas' interest in the necklace. ``That would suit both of you well.'' The figure said with a feminine voice. Vega and Vita looked at the figured with a surprised look. \n\n ``Umm...are you the jeweler here?'' Vega asked questioning what she was looking at. ``If so, I'd like two of...'' She looked at the number in front of the display necklace. ``...number 16 with a medium length chain.'' Vita only nodded as he looked at the cloaked figure for a few seconds before looking at the display again.\n\n ``Very well, I have two already made for you.'' The cloaked figure said opening a drawer in the display case. A gloved hand placed two small jewelry boxes on the counter. ``You're faith is strong, I can tell by your eyes. Keep it there as these will help you keep any bad spirits away.''\n\n ``Ummm...how did you...'' Vita said looking at his sister for a few seconds. ``...sis? What do you think?''\n\n Vega paused for a moment and looked at the cloaked figure and crossed her arms in partial disbelief. ``I don't know but I guess...'' She paused again. ``...a master jeweler would know more about it than us.''\n\n ``Your assumption is correct and if you're still interested...'' The cloaked figure looked at the pandas for a few seconds. ``...the necklaces are $75 for both. A special deal just for you and if they don't ward off bad spirits, I'll refund you as soon as you bring them back.''\n\n Looking at her brother, Vega nodded and dug in her pocket for a few seconds. She placed a $100 bill on the counter and the jeweler returned the $25 of change. ``Thank you and if anything happens, I'll come back to you.'' Vega said as she took the change and the necklaces, handing one to Vita.\n\n ``You know where to find me and I'll always be here.'' The jeweler said watching as Vega and Vita donned the necklaces immediately. \n\n With a nod, Vega and Vita walked away from the counter and the jeweler disappeared behind the curtain. They remained quiet as they walked over the pearl colored sedan. Vega got into the driver seat and Vita sat in the passenger seat. Even when the car was started, silenced remained between them as Vita looked at the necklace curiously. Vega looked at her brother when she stopped at a red light and sighed softly. \n\n ``What's on your mind?'' She asked as Vita looked over to her. ``Freaked out by someone who seemed to know their stuff or because you couldn't see a face?''\n\n ``Well...I...'' Vita looked back at his sister. ``...I guess you're right. I was a little freaked out there.'' He chuckled a little trying to act cool.\n\n ``No need to be Vita as you haven't exploded or started to melt...yet.'' Vega said as the light turned green and pulled away from the light. \n\n ``Vega...please, I'm just not used to seeing someone so...insightful about faith, spirits and stuff.'' Vita said looking away from his sister and at the buildings to his right. ``You...yea...because you work at the truck stop and I'm sure you get to see all types. But me, I'm just a guy at a game store.''\n\n With a sharp sigh, Vega just looks at her brother. ``Like you haven't seen the Sunday-go-to-church-women who want to find a wholesome game but even getting some like...'' She thinks for a few seconds as Vita just looks back at her. ``...Harry Potter!''\n\n Crossing his arms in a pout, Vita huffs and looks away from Vega as the car stops again at another red light. ``That one time and one time only and I suggested Mario Kart but oh no; ``it promotes street racing and road rage''. Like where do these women come from, the Twilight Zone.''\n\n The car comes awkwardly silent as Vega continues to drive through the city. Rush hour traffic slowed them down but neither one said a word as the sun started to set. They pulled into the driveway of a two-story house and park next to the side door. Both of the red pandas get out the car but look at the house wondering why it dark on the inside. Vega looks at her brother and shrugs as they walk around the outside of the house wondering what was going on. \n\n Sticking together, they circle the house looking at each window but not seeing any signs of a break in. There wasn't a note on the door from the power company on the front door and both remember paying the electric company the day before. Cautiously, Vita unlocks the door and opens it as Vega removes the small cylinder from the clip. They enter the foyer and close the door behind them. Peeking through the glass of the door that lead inside the house, Vita couldn't see anything but he unlocked the door.\n\n Both move into the dark house looking around for anyone or anything that could have gotten into the house. Vega moves over to the security system and disables it. Vita moves into the living room and tries to turn on the lights but nothing happens. He looks at his sister who tried the lights in the dining room. \n\n ``Did the breaker trip?'' Vega asked as Vita walked over to her.\n\n ``I guess so.'' He replied and moved into the kitchen.\n\n Both moved through the kitchen and towards the door in the far corner. Vega pulls the clip from the cylinder she was holding letting the bo staff extend out. Vita opened the door and grabbed the flash light from the self and started to walk down the stairs to the basement. Vega grabbed the second flash light, and followed her brother down into the basement. They look around some start walking to the far end of the basement. A small shimmer in the distance catches their attention and both pandas stop in their tracks wondering what it was. They whisper that the basement is supposed to be clear except for the laundry and nothing is supposed to in the back. \n\n Moving slower, they continued to move towards the back as the shimmer appears again and moves towards the safe. Vega and Vita follow it slowly keeping as Vita extends his bo staff. Vega walks behind her brother but moves towards the breaker box as Vita moves towards the safe. Vega opens the breaker box and pulls the larger breaker to off position before pushing it back on. Nothing happens as Vita opens the broken safe door and walks into the large room. He looks at the floor seeing wondering why it looked wet and why it was glowing a white-blue color.\n\n ``Vega?'' He called out as blue tentacles started to appear from the floor. ``VEGA?!'' Before he could react, the tentacles start to wrap around his arms and legs. One slides up his shirt and starts to rip it apart as two others move down and starts to open his pants. ``Hey, no needs to get....'' A tentacle wraps around his muzzle and gags him. \n\n Running into the room, Vega watches as her brother was pulled towards the center of the room by the tentacles. With a growl, she runs towards her brother as his pants are ripped from him and he's pulled down into the pool where the tentacles came from. ``VITA!'' She calls out as her brother is quickly pulled down into the pool. She leaps into the pool after Vita and it vanishes from the room.\n\n ``See sis, with just a little concentration, you call pull out even the most stubborn of targets.'' Vani said as the tentacles brought Vita down and rested him in front Mika before withdrawing.\n\n Looking at Vita, Mika smiles and brings her own tentacles around. One forming a chair that Mika sits on while the others seem to just stand by. ``He's a cute one.'' Mika said as the naked Vita slowly comes to. \n\n Standing up, Vita rubs his eyes and looks around. ``Whaa...where am I?'' He asked as he looked at Mika. ``Oh, what the... nope, I'm out.'' He starts to run away but Mika stands up and chases after him.\n\n Vani watches her sister for a moment and smiles. ``A runner...how fun.'' Her attention is turned when she hears the ``va-pow'' sound of the portal closing. ``That's odd.'' She looks up at the portal as it seems to go back to the stand by state that it was in she first got there. Suddenly, he spots, Vega running towards her with her bo staff still extended. \n\n ``What did you do with my brother?'' Vega calls out as she slides to a stop in front the taller Madilivani. \n\n Crossing her arms, Vani moves to the side showing Vega that Mika has already subdued him and is trapping him her tentacles. ``He's in good hands.'' Vani said as he stood before the angry red panda looking. She seemed to be studying Vega, but ignored the necklace. \n\n ``Let him go or you'll going to have to deal with me!'' She demanded pointing the staff at Vani who was not fazed by the threat. \n\n ``You're going to have to get passed me first.'' Vani said just staring Vega down. \n\n Moving the Bo staff to a more defensive position, Vega watches as Vani slowly starts towards her. Two light blue tentacles form next to Vani and quickly lunge towards Vega who bats them away and moves in closer to Vani. She moves her hands down to the bottom of the staff and takes a longer, almost baseball like swing at Vani. The tentacles swing around and block the staff causing Vega to step back. \n\n The two females, stare each other down as Mika looks over the tentacle trapped Vita. With a smile, Mika moves in and starts to rub Vita's sac. He moans softly and wiggles in his binds, as he slowly becomes aroused. Who trained this freak? Looking at Vani, the red panda took a breath and assumed a tai chi stance starting back at Vani intensely. In the distance, Mika and Vita sit next to each other on tentacle chairs. Both seemed to be amused at their siblings fighting as Mika suddenly gets an idea.\n\n Opening a portal over her head, Mika send a tentacle through it. ``This calls for some popcorn.'' Vani quickly stands back up and stares at Vega. Holding neutral stances, another stare down happens as both seem to be thinking about how to take down the other. \n\n With a quick thought, Vani uses what little power she has and charges at Vega but vanishes from sight. She reappeared behind Vega and grabbed her tail. The red panda gasped but before she could react, Vani kicked Vega in the rump and let the tail go watching Vega fall to the ground. However, as Vega fell, her legs tangled up with Vani's bring the Twili down with her. The two hit the ground with a cloud of dust flying up around them. Mika and Vita watched closely as they continued to eat the popcorn wondering what happened. \n\n When the dust cleared, Vega and Vani were on the ground and slowly started to move until both were on all fours. Both coughed a little before looking at each other again. With a sudden burst of energy, Vega pounced on Vani and the two wrestled on the ground for a few seconds until Vega was able to pin Vani on her back, holding the Twili's shoulders down.\n\n ``You can't get away from me now.'' Vega said looking Vani straight in the eyes. ``Are you even going to tell me what's going on here?''\n\n Vani's expression didn't change as she just stared back at Vega as she felt something strange welling in her. Vani said with a sigh but looked to the side as Mika and Vita walked over. ``But look, I'll send you back without question. I broke a rule or two and I fear bigger trouble awaits me.'' Mika started to say something but Vani glared at her as Vita walked up next to his sister. \n\n ``Are you ok sis?'' Vita asked as got a nod from Vega. He looks at Vani winks at her without Vega noticing. \n\n ``So that's it... you're just going to let us go?'' Vega asked Vani as Mika stood next to Vani. \n\n ``Yes and to be honest...You put up a better fight than anyone else I've ever encountered as captain of The Guard.'' Vani said with a small smile. ``I'll say I'm impressed.'' She looked at Mika. ``Open the portal back to where they came, sis. I can't do anything until my powers come back.''\n\n Mika nodded as her red tentacles reached up and into the portal. It whirred and started to spin as Vani took a step back and looked at the red pandas for a moment. She felt a bit of power come back to her and she smirked. Looking down for a second, Vani closed her and eyes and when she lifted her head back, she opened her eyes and a brief flash of power light came from them. This made Vega and Vita wobble in place, giving them a dizzy feeling as Mika used more tentacles and pushed the red pandas through the portal. \n\n Vani moved and sat down a rock as Mika closed the portal. She looked at Mika and sighed, seeming to have mixed emotions as her sister sat next to her. ``Mika... I...''           Madilivani stood on top of the watchtower, looking over the mountains. A gentle breeze blew against the cloak she was wearing, making it flap gently. Her cat like eyes scanned the seemingly endless twilight expanse. She remained quiet even when the wind picked up more and blew the cloak back behind her, showing the fox like color pattern. The dark purple fur started on her back and faded to pink as it got closer to the front of her torso, down her arms, legs, to the espeon like ears and thick, kangaroo like tail. Where the pink stopped on her torso, a blue-pink color began and faded to a pink-ish white. On the back of each ear was a silver crescent moon that faced towards the white Mohawk of hair. Pulling cloak back around her, Madilivani grunted in a bit of anger but paused as she hear footsteps approaching her. Her eyes narrowed and softly illuminated as the spot under her feet-paws turned bright blue and two hand like tentacles appeared.

          ``Who's there and why are you disturbing me?'' She asked with a growl, slowing turning around to see who it was. She blinked as lizard dressing her red and gold robes stood just at the doorway to the stairwell. He smiled a little as Madilivani dismissed her tentacles. ``Dukulon Zekrese...?''

          ``Yes my dear Madi as I have been looking for you.'' He asked with a warm, peaceful voice. ``I figured you'd be here as when you're upset, you come here to relax.''

          Crossing her arms, Madilivani huffed and moved closer to the Dukulon. ``Don't you have Duke-stuff to do?'' She asked as her eyes returned to normal. ``I wanted to be alone.''

          ``Yes...and no.'' He replied watching as Madilivani moved within 4 feet of him. ``I'm just here to tell you that, I'm sending you on an assignment.'' This made Madilivani grin slightly. ``But your sister has to go with you.''

          ``What? Why?'' She asked as a tentacle formed in front of the Dukulon and flipped him off. ``She's...immature for trying to be a guard.''

          ``Oh that's none-sense Madi as I feel Mika is ready for an assignment to test her and see if she's ready for the trials to get her rank.'' He said moving in and patting the tentacle like it was a pet.

          ``I guess I have no choice in the matter.'' She said dismissing the tentacle and looking away from the Dukulon.

          ``Seriously Madilivani, you need to tone down that pride of yours.'' He said sternly. ``It's going to back fire on you one day.'' He sighed as Madilivani looked him square in the eyes.

          ``And I'll be ready for it.'' She said firmly as the wind pick up some. ``What about the anomaly? Is there any more information about it?''

          ``It's not a threat anyone or anything at this time but the Intel team is still working on it.'' Dukulon said as Madilivani started to calm down. ``Just remember...''

          ``...our duty as The Guard is to protect us and the world of light from any danger, yes I know this Dukulon.'' She said seemingly annoyed now.

          ``Madi...pride, watch it.'' He retorted. ``Meet your sister at the Hy-Field waypoint; she has the information you need.''

          ``Duk...her...information...do you want me to lose brain cells here?'' She asked looking more concerned. ``Mika and information is like...trusting Rizor with my job. Both of them are bad ideas.''

          ``Don't worry Madi, I'll assure you Mika has and will handle it with care.'' He said sounding a little more desperate. ``All I need you to do, is carry out the assignment and report back.'' The Dukulon sighed and walked away from Madilivani leaving her speechless but annoyed.

          Looking around again, Madilivani looked towards the north seeing a small area of clear sky in the distance. Hy-Field, isn't supposed to be disabled? She thought as her eyes narrowed. What is going on there that they would reactivate that waypoint? With a groan, Madilivani left the top of the tower, walking down and out the front door. She looked over at the clear spot in the sky before starting the trek to Hy-Field.

          As she walked, her mind raced thoughts as to what could be going on at Hy-Field. She watched the mountainous area slowly became an endless sea of grass and slowly walked towards the waypoint, figuring her sister could wait a while. Closing her eyes, Vani walked with her arms spread, holding the cloak open as she enjoyed the gentle breeze against her naked body. She grinned and lowered her arms letting the cloak cover her body again. The grass gave way to a small rock formation with a cloaked figure standing under a slowly spinning portal. Madilivani watched the portal for a moment before the cloaked figured faced her and lowered the hood.

          Abranimika stood slightly shorter than her sister but shared the same shape. Unlike Vani, Mika had dark red fur than faded to orange from the back to the front. Where the orange stopped, yellow picked up and faded into a smoke-white color. She sported the same crescent moons on her ears and the white Mohawk. Mika smiled some at the sight of her sister, who walked up next to her. Vani looked at her sister and up to the portal before looking back at her sister again. Mika's expression changed to a confused look as Vani looked up at the portal again.

          ``Is something wrong sis?'' Mika asked as Vani locked eyes with her.

          ``Kind of...this portal was supposed to be disabled.'' Vani said crossing her arms. ``Why is it active?''

          Mika shrugged not knowing the answer either but handed her sister a piece of paper. ``Dukulon Zekrese told me to give you this though.'' She replied as Vani took the paper and read it:

          To Madi and Mika of The Guard: the Hy-Field portal was forcefully activated in response to some intelligence that someone in the World of Light has found a way to block us from opening portals normally. I have a feeling it is some kind of Axendra Prism and the source seems to come from this portal. Please investigate and destroy the prism if you have to. Be careful ladies, as you know the effects of Axendra on our kind and I can't afford to lose you. - Dukulon Zekrese II

          Slightly confused, Mika looked at her sister and just blink. ``What's Axendra and why do we need to be careful around it?''

          Vani folded the piece of paper and narrowed her eyes as he looked up at the portal. ``It's a type of gemstone that can disable the power of any Twili that touches it.'' Mika's expression changed from confused to concern. ``However, it's dependent on the size of the gem. Smaller ones like the ones in most jewelry, an in my experience, are more of an annoyance than disabling. However, once you get them up to the size of a quarter...'' Vani paused for a second. ``...would be to disable me for a while but a few hours at max.''

          ``So, what will be done about the prism?'' Mika asked moving closer to her sister, place a hand on her shoulder. ``What can we do about it?''

          ``It's one my fears but as long as neither one of us touches it bare handed we can destroy it.'' Vani said as her blue colored tentacles formed at her feetpaws. ``Something as simple as a hammer would do.'' The hand like tentacles reached up towards the portal which starts to glow.

          ``One last question: if the Duke said it can block us from opening portals, why are able to use this portal?'' Mika asked as Madilivani's tentacles enter the portal.

          ``These were created by the Sages a long time ago during the war. They allowed the Twili at the time to travel into the world of light in large numbers to fight the ``Dark Force'' that invaded.'' Vani said as the magical whir sounded as the portal was opened and ready. ``With the power of the Sages, it would take an astronomically large piece of Axendra to disable it...'' She pauses for a moment. ``...like one the size of a large car from earth.''

          ``I understand it now.'' Mika said as he looked up in the portal. ``But it works the same as if we open a portal?''      

          Vani nods slowly. ``As long as it's night time in the part of the world we are pulling a target from.''

 

45 minutes earlier...

 

          Vega walked slowly through the flea market with looking at the remaining dealer's tables as the closing announcement came on. She was wearing a pair of blue denim shorts and a white crop top shirt that said: Magic City on the bust. A spring clip with a small cylinder hung from the belt above the right pocket. A soft sigh escaped from her as she turned and looked at her twin brother who was just a few steps behind her. He wore the same exact attire and had the same clip on his shorts. The red panda walked toward a booth with purple drapes blocking the sides and a red one covering the table. She stopped and looked at the table seeing a wide assortment of jewelry with gemstones on them. The male caught up and gasped seeing the jewelry.

          ``Hey Vega, let's get something from here as no one else had anything we like.'' He said and promptly got a nod from Vega.

          ``You're right Vita, I thought we had wasted her time coming here.'' She said looking over the jewelry. Her eyes stopped on a silver necklace with an alexandrite baguette about the size of a penny on it.

          A few seconds later, someone wearing a cloak walks through the curtain behind the counter, simply watching Vega and Vita. The figure made a hum noise seeing the red pandas' interest in the necklace. ``That would suit both of you well.'' The figure said with a feminine voice. Vega and Vita looked at the figured with a surprised look.

          ``Umm...are you the jeweler here?'' Vega asked questioning what she was looking at. ``If so, I'd like two of...'' She looked at the number in front of the display necklace. ``...number 16 with a medium length chain.'' Vita only nodded as he looked at the cloaked figure for a few seconds before looking at the display again.

          ``Very well, I have two already made for you.'' The cloaked figure said opening a drawer in the display case. A gloved hand placed two small jewelry boxes on the counter. ``You're faith is strong, I can tell by your eyes. Keep it there as these will help you keep any bad spirits away.''

          ``Ummm...how did you...'' Vita said looking at his sister for a few seconds. ``...sis? What do you think?''

          Vega paused for a moment and looked at the cloaked figure and crossed her arms in partial disbelief. ``I don't know but I guess...'' She paused again. ``...a master jeweler would know more about it than us.''

          ``Your assumption is correct and if you're still interested...'' The cloaked figure looked at the pandas for a few seconds. ``...the necklaces are $75 for both. A special deal just for you and if they don't ward off bad spirits, I'll refund you as soon as you bring them back.''

          Looking at her brother, Vega nodded and dug in her pocket for a few seconds. She placed a $100 bill on the counter and the jeweler returned the $25 of change. ``Thank you and if anything happens, I'll come back to you.'' Vega said as she took the change and the necklaces, handing one to Vita.

          ``You know where to find me and I'll always be here.'' The jeweler said watching as Vega and Vita donned the necklaces immediately.

          With a nod, Vega and Vita walked away from the counter and the jeweler disappeared behind the curtain. They remained quiet as they walked over the pearl colored sedan. Vega got into the driver seat and Vita sat in the passenger seat. Even when the car was started, silenced remained between them as Vita looked at the necklace curiously. Vega looked at her brother when she stopped at a red light and sighed softly.

          ``What's on your mind?'' She asked as Vita looked over to her. ``Freaked out by someone who seemed to know their stuff or because you couldn't see a face?''

          ``Well...I...'' Vita looked back at his sister. ``...I guess you're right. I was a little freaked out there.'' He chuckled a little trying to act cool.

          ``No need to be Vita as you haven't exploded or started to melt...yet.'' Vega said as the light turned green and pulled away from the light.

          ``Vega...please, I'm just not used to seeing someone so...insightful about faith, spirits and stuff.'' Vita said looking away from his sister and at the buildings to his right. ``You...yea...because you work at the truck stop and I'm sure you get to see all types. But me, I'm just a guy at a game store.''

          With a sharp sigh, Vega just looks at her brother. ``Like you haven't seen the Sunday-go-to-church-women who want to find a wholesome game but even getting some like...'' She thinks for a few seconds as Vita just looks back at her. ``...Harry Potter!''

          Crossing his arms in a pout, Vita huffs and looks away from Vega as the car stops again at another red light. ``That one time and one time only and I suggested Mario Kart but oh no; ``it promotes street racing and road rage''. Like where do these women come from, the Twilight Zone.''

          The car comes awkwardly silent as Vega continues to drive through the city. Rush hour traffic slowed them down but neither one said a word as the sun started to set. They pulled into the driveway of a two-story house and park next to the side door. Both of the red pandas get out the car but look at the house wondering why it dark on the inside. Vega looks at her brother and shrugs as they walk around the outside of the house wondering what was going on.

          Sticking together, they circle the house looking at each window but not seeing any signs of a break in. There wasn't a note on the door from the power company on the front door and both remember paying the electric company the day before. Cautiously, Vita unlocks the door and opens it as Vega removes the small cylinder from the clip. They enter the foyer and close the door behind them. Peeking through the glass of the door that lead inside the house, Vita couldn't see anything but he unlocked the door.

          Both move into the dark house looking around for anyone or anything that could have gotten into the house. Vega moves over to the security system and disables it. Vita moves into the living room and tries to turn on the lights but nothing happens. He looks at his sister who tried the lights in the dining room.

          ``Did the breaker trip?'' Vega asked as Vita walked over to her.

          ``I guess so.'' He replied and moved into the kitchen.

          Both moved through the kitchen and towards the door in the far corner. Vega pulls the clip from the cylinder she was holding letting the bo staff extend out. Vita opened the door and grabbed the flash light from the self and started to walk down the stairs to the basement. Vega grabbed the second flash light, and followed her brother down into the basement.  They look around some start walking to the far end of the basement. A small shimmer in the distance catches their attention and both pandas stop in their tracks wondering what it was. They whisper that the basement is supposed to be clear except for the laundry and nothing is supposed to in the back.

          Moving slower, they continued to move towards the back as the shimmer appears again and moves towards the safe. Vega and Vita follow it slowly keeping as Vita extends his bo staff. Vega walks behind her brother but moves towards the breaker box as Vita moves towards the safe. Vega opens the breaker box and pulls the larger breaker to off position before pushing it back on. Nothing happens as Vita opens the broken safe door and walks into the large room. He looks at the floor seeing wondering why it looked wet and why it was glowing a white-blue color.

          ``Vega?'' He called out as blue tentacles started to appear from the floor. ``VEGA?!'' Before he could react, the tentacles start to wrap around his arms and legs. One slides up his shirt and starts to rip it apart as two others move down and starts to open his pants. ``Hey, no needs to get....'' A tentacle wraps around his muzzle and gags him.

          Running into the room, Vega watches as her brother was pulled towards the center of the room by the tentacles. With a growl, she runs towards her brother as his pants are ripped from him and he's pulled down into the pool where the tentacles came from. ``VITA!'' She calls out as her brother is quickly pulled down into the pool. She leaps into the pool after Vita and it vanishes from the room.

          ``See sis, with just a little concentration, you call pull out even the most stubborn of targets.'' Vani said as the tentacles brought Vita down and rested him in front Mika before withdrawing.

          Looking at Vita, Mika smiles and brings her own tentacles around. One forming a chair that Mika sits on while the others seem to just stand by. ``He's a cute one.'' Mika said as the naked Vita slowly comes to.

          Standing up, Vita rubs his eyes and looks around. ``Whaa...where am I?'' He asked as he looked at Mika. ``Oh, what the... nope, I'm out.'' He starts to run away but Mika stands up and chases after him.

          Vani watches her sister for a moment and smiles. ``A runner...how fun.'' Her attention is turned when she hears the ``va-pow'' sound of the portal closing. ``That's odd.'' She looks up at the portal as it seems to go back to the stand by state that it was in she first got there. Suddenly, he spots, Vega running towards her with her bo staff still extended.

          ``What did you do with my brother?'' Vega calls out as she slides to a stop in front the taller Madilivani.

          Crossing her arms, Vani moves to the side showing Vega that Mika has already subdued him and is trapping him her tentacles. ``He's in good hands.'' Vani said as he stood before the angry red panda looking. She seemed to be studying Vega, but ignored the necklace.

          ``Let him go or you'll going to have to deal with me!'' She demanded pointing the staff at Vani who was not fazed by the threat.

          ``You're going to have to get passed me first.'' Vani said just staring Vega down.

          Still not fazed by Vega, Vani smirks and steps back looking at the necklace. ``Fancy coming from you as you can't even take off a necklace before battle.''

          Mika blinks and looks at the neck Vita is wear and place her hand in front of it and feels a strange power coming from it. Looking closer, she realizes that it's made from Axendra. Turns to face Vega but before she can say anything, Vani grabs the neck by the jewel rips it from Vega. With a sharp gasp, Vani drops the necklace having felt what seemed like an electric shock surged through her arm. Suddenly the tentacles Vani had summoned slowly disappear. Looking around Vani blinks as she feels her power slowly drain away.

          Looking down at her feet-paws, Vani chuckles and kicks the necklace off to the side and looks at Vega. ``So were able to get a hold of a piece of Axendra, how clever of you.'' She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled before staring at Vega. Her pupils were narrow, ears stood erect as she moved into a planted crane stance. ``Now I will show you why I'm captain of The Guard.''

          Before Vega can react, Madilivani moves in and quickly starts to strike at the red panda who blocks the first few strikes before ducking and trying to sweep Vani off her feet. Thinking just ahead enough, Vani jump back and moves back into her starting pose as Vega chuckles and moves in to strike Vani but no hits hand as Vani blocks all of them. The equally tall Twili always tries a sweep but Vega jumps away and tries a quick right kick. Vani catches the foot and flips Vega up in the air and watches as the red panda still lands on all fours.

          With a soft chuckle, Vega stands up as Vani takes her stance again. Damn she's good! Who trained this freak? Looking at Vani, the red panda took a breath and assumed a tai chi stance starting back at Vani intensely. In the distance, Mika and Vita sit next to each other on tentacle chairs. Both seemed to be amused at their siblings fighting as Mika suddenly gets an idea.

          Opening a portal over her head, Mika send a tentacle through it. ``This calls for some popcorn.'' Returning to their impasse, Vani starts a leg sweep but quickly swaps to her tail. Vani quickly stands back up and stares at Vega. Holding neutral stances, another stare down happens as both seem to be thinking about how to take down the other.

          With a quick thought, Vani uses what little power she has and charges at Vega but vanishes from sight. She reappeared behind Vega and grabbed her tail. The red panda gasped but before she could react, Vani kicked Vega in the rump and let the tail go watching Vega fall to the ground. However, as Vega fell, her legs tangled up with Vani's bring the Twili down with her. The two hit the ground with a cloud of dust flying up around them. Mika and Vita watched closely as they continued to eat the popcorn wondering what happened.

          When the dust cleared, Vega and Vani were on the ground and slowly started to move until both were on all fours. Both coughed a little before looking at each other again.           Without warning, the flexible Vani uses her legs to pull Vega closer until their noses were touching. Confused, Vega tried to pull away but Vani's legs were too strong. When their lips touch, Vani kissed Vega causing the red panda to become confused. Vega squirmed and tried to get away but her arms went weak as he fell on top of Vani. Unable to fight back, Vega moved her hands up and kissed the Twili back, slowly rubbing her head. She gave in and started to tongue wrestle with Vani.

          Watching from the distance, Mika and Vita watched with their mouths agape as their siblings make out in front of them. Mika looks at Vita and sighs softly. ``That's against the rules.'' She whispered as Vita nodded in agreement.

          After about a minute, Vega and Vani stopped making out and stand up, still facing each other. Both of their faces were flushed as a third stare down happened but Vani crosses her arms.

          ``That...just happened...'' Vani said as Vega looked back at her with semi-confused but satisfied looked on her face.

          ``Yes it did and...'' Vega looked down for a second. ``I kind of enjoyed it.'' She placed a hand on Vani's shoulder but the Twili didn't react. ``Look... I... didn't mean to attack but...''

          ``It was the heat of the moment.'' Vani said with a sigh but looked to the side as Mika and Vita walked over. ``But look, I'll send you back without question. I broke a rule or two and I fear bigger trouble awaits me.'' Mika started to say something but Vani glared at her as Vita walked up next to his sister.

          ``Are you ok sis?'' Vita asked as got a nod from Vega. He looks at Vani winks at her without Vega noticing.

          ``So that's it... you're just going to let us go?'' Vega asked Vani as Mika stood next to Vani.

          ``Yes and to be honest...You put up a better fight than anyone else I've ever encountered as captain of The Guard.'' Vani said with a small smile. ``I'll say I'm impressed.'' She looked at Mika. ``Open the portal back to where they came, sis. I can't do anything until my powers come back.''

          Mika nodded as her red tentacles reached up and into the portal. It whirred and started to spin as Vani took a step back and looked at the red pandas for a moment. She felt a bit of power come back to her and she smirked. Looking down for a second, Vani closed her and eyes and when she lifted her head back, she opened her eyes and a brief flash of power light came from them. This made Vega and Vita wobble in place, giving them a dizzy feeling as Mika used more tentacles and pushed the red pandas through the portal.

          Vani moved and sat down a rock as Mika closed the portal. She looked at Mika and sighed, seeming to have mixed emotions as her sister sat next to her. ``Mika... I...'' She stumbled some. ``...I'm sorry.''

          Confused Mika tried to look closer at her sister but couldn't as Vani put her hands over her face. ``Is something wrong sis?'' She asked placing a hand on Vani's shoulder. ``You don't have to apologize to me.''

          Looking at Mika, Vani held her sister's hand. ``I know how much it means to you be part of The Guard.'' She started before looking down again. ``However, my actions just now...are unbecoming of someone or anyone in my position.''

          ``Soooooo.... You fear that the Duke is going to say something about it?'' Mika asked giving her sister's hand a light squeeze. ``If so, I'll defend you and say it was the heat of the moment.''

          Vani smiled a little, just a little. ``Thank you sis, I'm sure you'd go to the ends of the land for me if needed.'' Vani said standing up. ``Let's go home.''
