Story dedicated to the Beluga Trainers at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.?Ñ?Curt L. As told by now mom of 4, Myanuk AbbottÉ Little did I even knew that on Independence Day Eve, 7 years after IÕve had Kimalu (wow, itÕs been that long?) my 4th calf could not wait. I new knew that this would be the shortest time that I would have a calf, yes, IÕve had three prior to this one IÕve had Monday Night after the Aquarium closed. Kimalu however didnÕt know that his mom was having his sibling and his cousins may not know that their aunt was having another nephew or niece. Luckily, my caregivers were on close watch as they were from the time that my calfÕs flukes (heh, ÒflukesÓ) was crowned, I knew for the forth time that I would make staff feel joyous. Unlike Kimalu, my recent calf took me about 33.5 minutes to have and seeing that IÕve calved before without problems, it was like swimming for the first time like I was when I was my calfÕs age back in the Mid-80s, speaking of swimming, those minutes flew past really fast and fourth calf was, as you know, went swimming well. Literately. Right before the staff went to bed, KimaluÕs little bro or sis arrived and had the usual, first swim and a spyhop for air and, lets just say, it was good outcome and a way to make sure my relatives in the Artic and here in The Second City are around for years to come. I really like those odds. A lot.
