Whatever it was out there, it was making a nasty racket! It was probably best that he woke up in any case. There were never enough hours in the day, and sleeping them away probably wasn't the best way to use them.\n\nDrawing the curtain aside, he looked out into his yard. A couple of children were yelling and roughhousing out there, the older one holding his younger friend's pokeball just out of reach. Just some kids having fun. Adam supposed there wasn't any harm in it, as long as they didn't actually let the pokemon out and start throwing fire and energy blasts around.\n\nHis mind wandering, Adam began to daydream about the usual stuff. It never took much to set his brain wondering about the subject of transformation, of becoming a different creature entirely. The process; the sensations! He'd never know what it would truly be like, but it was always fun to wonder about it. He thought about his own favorite pokemon, the zangoose. The catlike form; the huge paws; the color pattern; the fluffy tail! Everything about it appealed to him.\n\nUsually this idle dreaming would only last for a few seconds, but something was different this time. A pleasant and warm feeling seemed to flow out from Adam's chest and pumped through his body. He closed his eyes and smiled, the effect subtle enough that he barely noticed it. Slowly at first, his ears began to move, the tips gradually shaping into points. Soft, fine hairs sprouted from them as they shifted upwards, red on the left, and white on the right. The colors dull at first, they became more vibrant as the change progressed.\n\nThe transformation wasn't gentle for long, however! Adam lurched down as it became intense, no longer able to be ignored! His hands flew up to his face as his jaw seemed to throw itself forward, his skull melding and cracking as it stretched out, forming the shape of a muzzle. Fur began to cascade over his skin, the stark white enveloping him all over. He could feel it bristle under his shirt; sprout out from his cheeks; covering his hands! It was everywhere!\n\nFor all the thought he had given to this over the years, nothing could have prepared Adam for what experiencing this was really like. The incredible sensations were completely overwhelming, especially since it had come out of nowhere! He couldn't speak, or think. It was all he could do to remain standing as the changes continued to wash over him! His nails began to grow and sharpen at a shocking rate, quickly becoming claws. The fur around his hands was a brilliant crimson red, contrasting with the snowy white that had taken over everywhere else. Adam's fingers fused and merged together as his new handpaws developed, leaving him with two huge claws on each arm.\n\nHis muzzle continued to pop and lengthen, as his nose turned upward and changed shape, resembling that of a cat's. His teeth growing and becoming serrated as they became sharp fangs. Adam's hair quickly lost its pigment, as his dull brown lightened into a bright grey color. As he heard a final, loud snap, it seemed the changes in his face were finally complete, and he managed to open his eyes, which were now a brilliant pink, with bright red pupils, slit like a feral animal's.\n\nShaking and trembling, Adam looked down at his new paws, the impossible fact of what was happening dawned on him as he looked himself over. It was actually happening! He was turning into a zangoose! This was something he had always dreamed of, but the unexpected speed with which it had occurred had left him dumbfounded, panting heavily as the bizarre and alien feel of his own body washed over him.\n\nA whimper escaped his maw as his shirt fell down over his shoulders. On top of everything else, he was getting smaller! Adam's huge ears folded back as he shrank slightly. It was all happening too fast! Too fast! Suddenly, his legs buckled as they changed configuration, and he slammed onto the floor. He cried out as the biggest change of all took over, his spine pulsating and sliding out as his tail began to grow. In short bursts it became longer and longer, quickly becoming covered in the fluffy white fur as it thrashed around. It wasn't long before Adam's new tail was nearly as large as he was!\n\nMinutes went by as Adam stared at the ground, breathing heavily and quivering. Afraid to move or do anything until the changes had stopped. As time went on, it seemed like the transformation was complete, over as suddenly as it had begun. Struggling with his new shape, he managed to sit upwards and look over himself. His shorter legs now ended with three-toed footpaws, and his tail began to sway back and forth as the insane truth dawned on him. This was real! He had just become a zangoose! He wasn't sure how, or why, or even if it was permanent or not, but for the moment, it didn't matter. He raised his paws up to his new face and began to feel it all over. Everything was so different! He smiled, fangs glistening as he began to giggle uncontrollably.\n\nHe couldn't explain it, but he could certainly enjoy it!
