After his last weekend had been rained out, he was more than ready to spend some time with his friends Simon and Rick. They’d made the usual plans to meet up at the park as soon as the new episode of Hero Hounds finished, and Kendall had wasted no time hurrying out the door once the episode was over. He’d brought his backpack, stuffed with lunch, some snacks, some water, and of course a couple extra pairs of pants and undies. His full backpack bounced off his back with each running step he took, until he finally saw the playground in the distance. He slowed his pace just a bit to catch his breath, and once he’d caught his breath, he quickened his pace once again. \n\nKendall saw that Rick and Simon had beaten him to the playground, and they both waved at him as he approached.\n \n“What took you so long?” Simon asked with a teasing smirk. \n\n“Yeah, we beat you here by like five minutes!” Rick added. \n\nKendall rolled his eyes and shrugged. “You guys live closer,” he said, then stuck out his tongue. \n\nThe three boys wasted no time starting their day, and found a safe place to put their packs. They’d put them somewhere within eyesight but not out in the open, so no one would be likely to mess with them. Even if someone were to snag their bags, they all knew better than to bring anything that would be a big deal if it was lost. Lunch, snacks, and clothes were nothing worth stealing as it was. Even their backpacks were a bit old and didn’t look like they’d be worth taking. But all the same, they took care of them. After all, they didn’t want to lose their spare clothes and ruin their plans. \n\nKendall, Rick, and Simon worked up a sweat playing on the playground equipment for a while, and began feeling the heat of the afternoon sun beating down on them once it had fully risen into the sky. There was very little cloud coverage, so the only shade they had was the shade made by the towering playground equipment. They all knew that they would eventually retire into the woods like they always did, but the playground equipment was always fun too. Being allowed to climb all over things was just too much fun for them to give up only because it was getting a little warm. \n\n“Jeeze, the sun is really bright today,” Simon said, wiping his forehead with his shirt. \n\n“It’s bright every day, genius,” Rick teased, giving Simon a smirk.\n\n“You know what I mean,” Simon grumbled in return. \n\n“Yeah, it’s pretty hot…I think I’m gonna take my shirt off,” Kendall said. He removed his shirt, and let out a sigh. “That’s a bit better.”\n\nRick followed suit, and removed his shirt. “Hoo, yeah that’s a bit cooler,” the fox boy said. He wagged his tail behind him, trying to fan the air around him a little.\n\nKendall and Rick looked at Simon, waiting for him to remove his shirt, but Simon looked at the ground sheepishly as if he were inspecting something.\n\n“Aren’t you gonna take your shirt off?” Kendall asked.\n\n“N-no, I think I’m gonna keep mine on,” Simon said defensively.\n\n“Weren’t you the one who was just complaining about how hot it was?” Rick asked.\n\n“Yeah, so?” Simon replied in his same guarded tone.\n\n“So take your shirt off! Me and Kendall did, it’ll help you cool down!” Rick said.\n\n“I don’t wanna,” Simon said, folding his arms.\n\n“Why not?” Rick asked, cocking his head to the side.\n\n“Just because!” Simon spat. \n\nKendall looked at Simon, then at Rick, then back at Simon. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to, but why are you getting all weird about it?” the puppy asked.\n\n“I-I’m not being weird about it,” Simon protested.\n\n“Are too!” Rick said.\n\n“Am not!” Simon argued.\n\nThe tiger cub and the fox kit bickered for a little longer, before Simon shouted. “Fine!” \n\nHe took his shirt off, and then scowled at Rick and Kendall. “There, happy?” he asked. \n\nRick and Kendall quickly realized why Simon had been so fussy about taking his shirt off. It was subtle, but both Rick and Kendall recognized something that Simon was wearing. He wasn’t sure why he was so embarrassed, but he was. It wasn’t like he hadn’t peed, and pooped, his pants in front of his friends before. But something wearing a garment made for toddlers felt a bit more humiliating than using the bathroom in his pants. \n\n“I had an accident when we were watching a movie last night so my mom made me wear them to bed, and then I just kept them on cuz I almost overslept for the new episode of Hero Hounds…” Simon admitted. “There, happy?”\nKendall shrugged. “It’s okay, it’s not like we don’t all still go in our pants!” the pup said, doing his best to cheer his friend up.\n\n“Yeah, I mean we go in our pants like every week anyway. You can just go take it off if you don’t wanna wear it, right?” Rick asked. \n\nSimon thought about that for a moment. He wasn’t sure why he hadn’t considered just taking his Pull-Up off, but at this point it was already too late. Luckily their hushed conversation hadn’t really gathered the attention of anyone else, so only his friends knew about his little secret. “It’s whatever…you guys already saw it,” Simon said, starting to perk up a bit.\n\nKendall grinned. “Don’t worry Simon, sometimes my mom makes me wear a Pull-Up when we go on long car rides so I know what it’s like!” he said, trying to cheer his friend up.\n\n\tRick giggled a little. “Yeah, remember that time you almost peed your pants on that field trip?” he asked.\n\nKendall flattened his ears. “Heeeey, you did too!
