It also makes it hard to make sales for me off of pre-existing stuff. Or the idea that the whole context becomes centralized off of one story or theme. Usually that eats up the context of other OCs, or even obscure characters.\n\nIt's fun for many, not for me. I like to expand the story, ask about the character, poke at it, see how things develop and feel. Having a pre-established movie locks that into place and the feeling of exploration becomes largely dependent on fan service, which I think is a disservice to observational drawing or life drawing, from which animations derive from.\n\nSo as a break down or exercise in design, I generally break R34 characters down and repurpose them into my own. More head heir, sharper nose. Duh more muscles. \n\n\nHopefully this approach makes sense coming from me.
