Zen had another 2 sessions within those days. The countdown till the start of school was ticking away. Zen was getting nervous about meeting his teacher and his classmates. With only a little over a week till school started Zen had a lot on his mind. Zen sat in his bed staring at the ceiling. His thoughts went to what had happened recently. He had tried using magic with one gate open on his seal. The difference in the strength of his magic was more than he expected. A simple lightning bolt nearly blasted a hole in the wall despite the training hall having barriers to prevent that. And that was just one gate being open. But there is the whole accepting a demon child thing to deal with. And we would have to tweak the contract in order to have Ruby play mommy. Now doing that would not give your body any leeway to adjust to shifting weight and stretching. You would also be hungry all the time. Well we have a solution but… it involves either my or Ruby’s co-operation.

\tRuby tilted her head looking more confused. How would I help this situation? Chaotic started to frown. Are you two thinking doing something stupid? Zen slapped his knees. It’s not stupid. It would save Black. Ruby looked around. Alright what am I missing? Black sighed. In short Zen and I came up with a solution that allows me to live with you guys. That solution is to be born into your world. Chaotic slapped himself in the forehead and Ruby pointed at herself. You want me to give birth to you? Black shrugged. We thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask. Chaotic raised a hand. Wait a second… Zen you said either you or Ruby… does that mean you plan to go through with this with or without us? Zen shrugged. I wanted have a talk with everyone present to figure out what to do. Chaotic rubbed his forehead. Nothing is simple with our rag tag family is it? Ruby laughed. I’m so far out of my league here. I’m no help at all. Zen shook his head. No this is a family decision. I didn’t want to do anything without talking with you guys. Black put both her hands up. Now before you go pointing fingers I was all for fading away. I have felt more alive with Zen than I think I ever have. But as it is Zen doesn’t want me to go. Zen nodded in agreement.

\tRuby raised a hand. Alright quick question… you said you only have 3 months tops before you fade away… last time I checked it takes 9 months to have a baby. Black nodded. Right you are. In Zen I would only last at the most 3 more months. In another body however I could last around a year. Ruby looked even more confused. How the hell would Zen have a baby? Also how would that work if you can only live 3 months in Zen? Black shrugged. I would have to speed up the pregnancy. Ruby’s mouth dropped. You can do that? Black nodded. There are risks in speeding things up though. Not to mention Zen is only 5. His body is small. Stretching would be painful to say the least. However Zen has healing powers unlike anything I have seen. Zen shook his head. I thought you were the one healing me. Black nodded. I did heal you once. The first time them dark mages cut you I healed you. After that you have healed yourself without even knowing you did it. Anyway getting back to the risk factors of Zen having a baby. I don’t think he would be able to deliver on his own. Well not without tearing… a lot of tearing. There will also be pressure on his internal organs. His healing would keep him safe for the most part.

\tChaotic sighed. You guys really thought this through huh? Zen shrugged. Not really, Black has been explaining things. That’s why I wanted to talk to you guys. I know I want to save Black. If Ruby doesn’t want to do this, I will. There is no reason anyone else should have to go through this. I can understand if you don’t trust Black. You guys haven’t known Black as long as I have. I don’t want you to feel forced to help me either. Ruby gave a nervous laugh. I’m not saying I don’t want to help. It’s just that having a baby is a big deal. Chaotic nodded. There is a lot we need to discuss. First off how would we go about raising a demon? Black shrugged. I won’t be a demon after this. This whole thing will likely drain me of what demonic power I have left. In other words I will be as normal as you guys. Well as normal as Ruby anyway. Chaotic nodded. That makes sense. Ruby shook her head. How the hell does that make sense? This whole thing has my head spinning.

\tZen laughed. At least you know more about the adult stuff. I have been learning all kinds of new stuff today.  Chaotic shrugged shaking his head. This is all going to be a pain in the ass. We will have to take Zen to the hospital for a C section if he does this. And if Ruby does this we have 9 months of momma watch. Now I’m not saying I wouldn’t help. Things are just taking a turn in so many unexpected directions. Zen nodded. I’m not sure what a C section is but this is all weird to say the least. All the adults in the room slapped their foreheads. Black shrugged. We hadn’t covered that in our little health class today. Zen tilted his head. Did I miss something? Ruby put one hand on Zen’s shoulder. A C section is where they do surgery to remover the baby instead of trying to push the baby out. Zen had a look of concern. It won’t hurt the baby will it? Ruby shook her head. No the baby comes out just fine. Zen gave a sigh of relief. Why don’t we just do that then? I can just have Black that way and this will all be done in a month.

\tChaotic shook his head. I wish it were that simple. The hospital will have lots of questions if you just show up in a month and your 9 months pregnant. There is also the fact that you are starting school in just over a week. Zen shrugged I’ll just have to wait to start school. We could say that I’m sick or something. Besides it’s not like I’ll be missing anything I can already read and write. Ruby and Chaotic both had a look of shock. Zen shrugged. What, one of the guys that taught me how to summon also taught me to read and write. Ruby looked at Chaotic. What do you think? I’m not sure if I can go without drinking for 9 months at this rate. Chaotic laughed. I’d say we let Zen choose. In this situation I don’t see a really good decision either way. Zen looked around. Sure all the pressure is on me again. Why don’t we wait till tomorrow to make this big of a decision? We can all come back in here and I will give my answer.

\tWith that said everyone nodded in agreement before waking up back in bed. They would go about the rest of the day with a lot on their minds. Zen had the most to think about. He didn’t want to force Ruby to have a baby for him. He also was not sure if he could handle a month where he was sure to be in pain. Zen could only hope than a good night’s sleep would help clear his head.
