Holy cow, a new story by me!  Pigs must be flying!  Actually, this is the second story I've written this week.  The first one is in a bit of a rough shape and needs more work.  I wanted to prioritize getting this one completed and posted it's related to my most recent submission, seen here:

This more or less gives the full context of the scene in the drawing.  It introduces us to Devin and Krystal's sons, Kaz and Sebastian, and it gives what I think is some much needed insight into Krystal and Devin's master/pet relationship.

I'm quite happy with the result.  I was happy with my first draft, and Thaddeus did a great job with the editing portion.  His edits really helped give the story more focus.

Two things that aren't touched upon in this story are the species of Kaz and Sebastian.  I honestly haven't decided yet.  Are they both cats, both skunks, or one of each?  There never was much rhyme or reason for how species is determined within the rules of the Gaea universe, and even less so since I removed hybrid species.  I may not decide on which species they are until I absolutely have to.  Enjoy the ambiguity.

But some parents, like Krystal, had ulterior motives. She walked down the aisles with her two young sons, Kaz and Sebastian, six and seven respectively, by her side, absentmindedly glancing about the clothes they passed. The twenty-five year old skunk had other things on her mind, like the leash in her hand. It connected to her pets collar, her husband and cousin Devin.\n\nDevin, a twenty-five year old cat, happily followed his master, keeping an eye on their cubs on their leisurely trip toward the changing rooms.
