Here we have a loving family scene. Lucien and his now-16 year old daughter Elise are making love. Their 3 year old twin son (Mathis) and daughter (Bijou) are next to them, watching mommy and daddy, and trying to imitate their intimate movements.
This is the first in a multi-part series of drawings that I plan to have done by Aogami. It will showcase a bit more of Lucien and Nova's family. No, Nova and Silas won't be ignored.
It's based on Lucien's back story. For generations, his family has had a tradition of inbreeding between parent and child. Fathers would have children with their daughters, and sons would have children with their mothers. Basically, a father and daughter would have as many kids as they desired. If they were all girls, then daddy would have children with each of them when they're ready, and again only as many as they desired. If any of the children was a boy, then the boy's mom would wait until he's ready, and then have kids with him.
The cycle is broken if, for some reason, a mother is unable to bear children by the time her son is old enough to impregnate her, or if a father becomes infertile or passes away before a daughter is old enough to conceive. The cycle can also be broken if a female simply doesn't want to have children, doesn't want to participate in the inbreeding, is homosexual, has had as many children as she desires, etc. Same with if a male is homosexual, or if anyone is asexual, not interested in incest, etc. This is totally voluntary on all sides, after all.
I haven't quite decided which would be the case for Lucien. Obviously he's not had children with his mom, so something happened. I was thinking she was killed in a car accident before he was old enough to give her kids, or she had him too late in life that she simply couldn't conceive any more kids after him. I'm leaning more toward the former, as I was thinking Lucien is an only child. Maybe he has a sister. I don't know. Haven't really considered that.
It's worth noting at this point that Gaea, the world my characters inhabit, has no genetic risk for inbreeding. It's all fantasy, after all. ;)
Anyway, Nova knew of Lucien's family tradition before they married, and she was rather willing to help him keep the tradition alive. Thus, when Elise was old enough, Lucien gave her some kids. He may give her some more, or maybe not, but when their son is old enough, it will be his time to make babies with mom. Likewise for Lucien and his youngest daughter. Elise and Silas are fully on board with the family tradition, as well.
So yeah, great art from Aogami. I love how it turned out. Also love how his design for the twins looks.
And yes, more twins. I think I've read that some families have a predisposition toward multiple births (i.e. twins, triplets, etc.), and Nova has the Kat bloodline in her, as do her younger siblings Scotty and Brianna, her cousins Travis and Vera, and T&V's children Lance and Celia. Lots of twins in that bloodline so far.
No idea yet when my next Aogami stream will be. It will take a long time to get this whole series finished. I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. :D
