Alex was diverting the guards' attention away from the cat. I didn't know the first thing about fighting, so I dropped my necklace inside the house so the guards wouldn't see it as I legged it for the kid, grabbing him by the arm. He gasped in surprise, but I didn't leave any time for questioning as I rushed back in the house with the boy, Alex following shortly behind before slamming the door when all three of us got in. The guards knocked on the door with full force, but soon gave up as the heavy pounding on the door ceased. The cat boy panted as he was still shook by all that. "Hey, you're safe. Calm down and tell us your name." Alex said in a soft tone. "M-My name's Lucas." The kid replied, his voice still full of fear. "You guys aren't with those people out there, are you?" He asked us. "No. We're trying to figure out a way to stop the guards from doing all this." I replied. Lucas seemed confused, but nodded anyways. "I wanna help." He said. Me, Alex and Nekko alike looked at him funny. This boy could've have been any older than me at the time. "No offense Lucas, but... we're doing this on our own." Alex replied after an awkward silence. "But I don't want those guards to hurt anyone anymore." The cat argued. "But you'll..." My sis sighed. "Okay. But if you get hurt, it's not on us." She finally accepted. "I know where my mother is being held up. I'll lead us there, and we just take down anyone that tries to harm us. We'll sneak around the side of the stronghold and go from there." Alex planned. It was a good plan, but... Once again, I had no idea how to fight. "Lighty doesn't know how to defend himself." Even Nekko pointed it out. "Hm... Maybe I can train him." Alex responded. "Are you sure?" The doc asked in a serious tone. "Yes. C'mon, Lighty." My sister said to me. This is where the real fun starts...
