He knew there was nothing else he could do, no words could be formed to apologise, no actions to say I’m sorry. Kio just didn’t move. All he did was watch the fox walk off, vanishing in the heavy rain.\nDropping to his knees in the puddle, he slammed his fists into the concrete crying, but being muted by the heavy rain. “It’s my fault they left, it’s my fault.” He continued to repeat as he just pounded the ground hard with his webbed hands, his tail slumped behind him. His thoughts were attacking him, blinding his senses form anything around him.\nKio was furious with himself and wanted to die, he had broken the heart of the one he loved which in turn, broke his and now he was in shambles, and there was no one around to help put him back together. He was alone, like he always wanted or so he thought. Kio wished this was just a nightmare but with every strike to the ground, he could feel his fur rip away, then skin and finally he could feel the blood. This wasn’t a dream but he still hoped it was. However as he went to strike the ground one more time, a flash of light dilated his pupils and eventually there was only darkness and no sound. \nThe feel of the rain against his fur was gone, the blood pouring out of his hands, his thoughts ceased. He prayed he was dead, he hoped he was out of this world and most of all he hoped Azi would find what he was looking for and forget this otter and be happy.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKio was very excited for today, it had been the day of his and the fox’s anniversary and it was going to be perfect. They had been together for three years and Kio was going to ask Azi if they could be engaged. He was looking forward to this night all year long and ever since the day he had met the fox.\nKio walked around the small house, feeling his dark chocolate tail slide across the wooden floor as he walked into the kitchen where he grabbed his cell phone. Upon lifting it, he dialed the number for the seafood grill restaurant where he would meet the fox. His voice was calm as he verified that he would be there with Azi.\nSeeing that everything was ago Kio realized he had the rest of the day to do whatever he wanted until later at night. Making his way upstairs he hopped into the shower and tried to clean himself as best as possible so that fishy aroma that he gave off wasn’t as strong. It was still there and that was one thing he knew the fox did like.\nKio made sure that he was looking his best for tonight. Looking in a mirror he combed his dark brown fur and grey fur under his chin. He slipped on a white collar shirt and over that was a black onyx vest with his old pocket watching hanging out. He had also slipped on a pair of nice black pants. He didn’t put any shoes on because it constricted his webbed feet. He gazed at himself in the mirror with his emerald green eyes and seeing them stare back. A warm smile was across his soft face.\nTurning away from the mirror the male walked over to his dresser and opened the top drawer up and pulled out a small box and opened it up with a smile across his face. I hope he says yes. The male thought as he closed it and stuffed it into his pocket. Looking at the watch the male figured he would wait until the reservations. He didn’t want to spoil the mood by showing up at the foxes’ apartment. They had talked about living together but Azi worked and Kio was still in school, so they had thought it best to avoid the conflict of distance. \nIt wasn’t long until the male otters’ clock rang loudly in his home. A huge smiled had appeared on his face as he sprang up and dashed out of the house. The sun was still out but was slowly setting right now, the cool spring breeze blew by causing trees to shake and having a few leaves fall. While Kio walked, the smile he had from earlier had never left his face. His tail simply trailed behind him as he made sure he had he small box. He was filled with joy at this point so he quickened his pace a little more than when he had left.\nWhile walking he just looked around at all the cars passing by, other creatures walking into different shops and restaurants. He saw a couple holding hands as they walked, this just made his heart beat faster. The sky didn’t show any kind of change in weather, it had been a nice walk and a great day. He knew it was only going to get better when Azi said yes.\nIt didn’t take long for Kio to reach the restaurant. He scanned the fancy writing on the wooden sign reading “Black Tail”. It was both the otters and foxes favourite place, it wasn’t just a normal grill, it also served different kinds of seafood and that was pretty cool they had thought. Kio smiled more remembering this was the place they had met. He remembered as he strolled in, that, three years ago he had come here after school since he had gotten great marks and decided to treat himself. While inside he had waited for his meal but Azi had also come in and looked away for a split second and bumped into a waiter carrying food and stumbled back, tripping over a chair. This Kio remembered was what had made the fox fall in his lap. \nKio talked to the man at the entrance and was led by a fairly good looking female owl with light brown and white feathers. He was given a menu and he continued his memory. He chuckled remembering that he had said “I didn’t order a fox.” It was stupid and cheesy but that’s what had made it funny to him. It wasn’t long since they got talking after a few apologise and as they had talked they realized they had quite a bit in common. Both the otter and fox wanted to take things slow to get to know each other better and now Kio found himself sitting here waiting to ask the male to marry him.\nThe male snapped back to the present and looked through the menu after he had ordered himself a pitcher of water with lemons to drink. He pulled the small box out and looked at the ring once again smiling warmly at his reflection. It wasn’t the most expensive thing but he hoped the fox would like it. Kio peeked up from his menu to see if the male was coming but nothing yet. This made him turn to his cell phone and saw he was a little late. The otter just assumed work was keeping him or something.\nMinutes passed and eventually minutes had turned into hours. Now Kio was worried, so he flipped open his cell and punched in Azi’s number. It rang a few times before he closed it and saw the fox. He looked a little soaked. The otter figured it must be raining but he didn’t care. He ran over to the male but he slid to a stop as the fox held up his hand and motioned for the otter to follow. \nKio was worried as he followed behind the male fox to the bathroom. His heart beat faster when he walked in and the fox had locked it behind him as he stood a foot away. Kio opened his mouth but as quickly interrupted by the male fox. “Do you think it is fun to find your boyfriend in a sex video?” The otters’ eyes widened and stepped back. “Wh...What?”\nThe fox pulled his phone out and showed him the video. There on the screen was Kio playing with himself and using a toy. With one click the fox shut it off and just stared into the otters’ eyes. It was clear the fox was upset to a great extent. “You know what Kio, I loved you, and finding this. You know what if you need the attention form everyone fine. But im done with you.” He said with a growl as he stormed past the otter.\nKio tried to grab his arm but was knocked onto the floor with a push. His heart was heavy and in pain. He stood up as the fox walked out. It wasn’t hard to catch up to Azi but now he found himself getting drenched with the rain water. He called out loudly trying to get the foxes’ attention but with no prevail. Moving a little closer the fox turned around and yelled. “Get out of here, I don’t want a fucking attention whore as a boyfriend.” Kio stopped with a hurt expression on his face.\nThe male otter watched with tears streaming down his face, mixing with the droplets of water as the one he had loved and cared so much about walked away down the street. He prayed he was dead, he hoped he was out of this world and most of all he hoped Azi would find what he was looking for and forget this otter and be happy.\nSlowly the male’s eyes began to open. Everything in his view was blurry but it soon focused and became very bright. He had to close his eyes again and open them to get use to the light. Finally when his eyes had adjusted properly he slowly moved but grunted in pain as a shock went through his entire body. He heard someone’s voice tell him not to move. Slowly though, he moved his head and there sitting in the white chair was Azi. Looking some more he figured he was in the hospital.\nAzi had gotten up and walked over to him and ran his hand over his head. “Hey buddy how re you?” The foxes’ voice was calm and sincere. There was even the hint of sorrow behind it. Looking up at the fox petting his head, the otter spoke. “Who are you?” This was a shot at the male but he figured he was joking.\n“Alright haha you got me.” He said allowing himself to smile a bit as he gazed down at the otter in the bed. The otter just looked at him with a confused look. Before the fox could speak again the male lizard doctor came in and spoke to everyone. “Ahh finally you woke up. Truthfully I surprised.” He explained as he made his way to the end of the otters’ bed and scanned over the clipboard. “Hmm we thought you would be in a coma for a while, your boyfriend here stayed by your side though.” \nAt the mention of him having a boyfriend he spoke up. “I have a boyfriend? Isn’t that a sin or something?” the lizard lowered the clipboard. “Oh I see.” He had a worried expression on his face as he took the fox out of the room. Kio could see a tear forming on the end of the foxes’ eye and watched it fall onto the floor. However in his mind he was very confused on this whole scenario.\nWhile Kio was laying there staring at the black screen of the TV in his room he could hear crying coming from outside. Was that the fox crying? He thought as he kept his gaze fixed on the wooden door. Unfortunately the blinds to see out into the hall was closed so he couldn’t be sure. Tossing his head back to staring at the ceiling he heard the door open and both the lizard and fox walked in. \n“Well Kio some good and bad news. The good news is that your injuries will heal in a couple of weeks, you should be walking in a few days though. However the bad news is that it seems you have suffered some brain damage causing amnesia to set in.” The doctor explained as he looked at the otter and back up at the fox. “Well I’ll grab you a wheelchair and you guys will be free to leave.”\nThe lizard walked out of the room leaving Azi and Kio alone with each other. Kio gazed back up into the male’s eyes seeing the pain that was hidden deep within. He could see that the fox was trying to hold back the tears and show a smile, but it was hard to even hide such pain. The otter felt bad but he didn’t know why. Is this my fault or something? \nThe fox leaned down and kissed the top of the otters head. When he kissed him a tear fell from his eye onto the top of the males head. This made Kio look at Azi confused. However deep inside Azi’s mind was the fact they had been together for three years and now everything was gone. \nIt wasn’t long until the doctor came back with a wheelchair. “Alright let’s get you home.” The lizard said as a few other male nurses came in and helped lower the otter into the chair. The fox thanked them as he wheeled Kio out of the hospital and just began walking him home. He would grab his car tomorrow while the male slept. \nThe fox figured he would see how well the male’s memory was by asking questions. “What do you remember Kio?” He started off with since it would be much easier to ask that he thought. However he just looked at the male’s injuries form his bandaged head to his tail, his left leg was fracture. However he should count himself lucky because when he was stuck by the car his head was already in momentum to the ground so he wasn’t resisting and no tires ran over his arms. He must have had a guardian watching over him or something that night.\n“I don’t know. I know my name is Kio, ummm I go to school. I’m trying to be an Environmental Technician for aquatic ecosystems with a bit of underwater welding on the side. I remember where I grew up.” He explained with a few other things that seemed like he was until Azi asked his next question. “Do you know who I am or what we were?” The male otter had to think hard, it even hurt a bit. “I don’t know who you are, but guess you’re either the person that hit me or an old friend or something.” He said softly.\nUpon hearing the words escape the otter’s mouth, Azi had to stop and collect himself. He couldn’t believe he was forgotten. It hurt him greatly. “Well…I’m Azi your boyfriend” The fox said as he continued to wheel the injured otter home. “We were together for three years and well.” He had to stop himself form saying any more. He already felt bad because in a way this was his fault. \nUnfortunately the otter got curious when the sentence wasn’t ended. “What happened?” He asked curiously completely oblivious to what had happened thanks to the memory loss he had sustained. “I found a video of you playing with yourself on the internet for all to see.” He sighed as he spoke about it. This made Kio confused though. “Why would it have mattered? If it was when we dated ya, but if it was before so what.” Every time the otter spoke the fox felt worse and worse seeing the logic. He didn’t even see when the video was posted and he had been quick to accuse him.\nThe fox had finally reached the otter’s house still deep in thought and fighting with himself because he figured hew as to be blamed for what happened. Azi carefully helped Kio up from the chair and lifted him inside towards the couch where he was placed down gently. “Well I’ll be taking care of you.” He said and kissed the males lips out of instinct. However when the fox’s lips toughed the otters, Kio moved his head back. “What are you doing?”\nThe fox stepped back shocked. “I was…kissing you.” He explained. Azi felt hurt by the rejection of the kiss. Something they had done for years.\nKio just looked at him. “Dude I’m not that into you, I’m fine with you being gay and all but I’m not. I may have been gay before my accident but I’m not. I don’t find you very attractive.” He explained\nEvery word that Kio was assaying was like a sharp blade piercing the fox’s heart. Azi could feel very inch of the pain sink further and further in. It was hard for him to hold back the tears so he quickly walked away into the bathroom leaving the otter on his own.\nAn hour passed and eventually the fox had come out of the bathroom, it was easy to see that he had been weeping heavily but it was surprising how quiet he had been. The fox walked over and lifted th otter up seeing he had fallen fast asleep. Slowly he carried him up to his bedroom where he tucked him in all snug like. When the otter was in bed he walked downstairs and positioned himself on the couch as he gripped the pillow and fell into a dark nightmarish slumber.\nThe weeks wore on with the same old thing, the fox tending to the otters wounds making sure he wasn’t hurting himself further. However with each passing day it seemed the otter was remembering more and more except for the fox. Kio still had no idea who Azi was and that just pushed the blades further into his heart. It would be only a matter of time before the foxes’ heart was empty with blood, love and hope. On that day though, who knows what would happen.\nEventually the sun rose high into the sky bringing life back to the earth and casting the darkness back into its home. The birds sang their joyous tunes and squirrels scurried to their trees. Kio was always an early rise and soon he was up on his feet stretching. He was all better now. IT had taken a good month or so but in the time he remembered everything except Azi. To Kio, the fox was a friend, nothing more.\nKio walked down the stairs letting his tail dragged on the cool wood as he took his time. He would occasion feel a little pain but it wasn’t anything he couldn’t’ handle. The otter had sent Azi away back to his home since he was feeling much better. The sad part was when Kio had sent Azi away a week ago he had gotten onto a dating website and talked with a female. Tonight was going to be the first night and Azi had no idea.\nThe otter made his way around his house tidying things up making sure things were clean. When all was how he liked, he decided to just relax by watching TV until it was time to get ready for his date. He had decided to bring her to his home because he remembered he could cook great meals. Also the fact he didn’t have much money to actually pay for the both of them until next week. Ever since he had been talking to her online he was quite excited to meet her.\nTime had quickly passed and soon there was a knock on the door. Kio strolled over and peered through the small looking hole and saw a stunning female humming bird. He smiled warmly as he stepped back and opened the door up for her to come inside. \nSlowly the avian walked inside. Kio looked at her brown hair which cascaded down her shoulders over her pink tank top. Her green and blue tipped wings could be easily seen. Her dark blue skinny jeans showed over he well-toned legs. She spoke calmly. “You must be Kio correct?” \nThe male otter nodded with a warm smile across his face. “Yes and you must be Zixa. My you are such a beautiful creature.” His welcoming tone causing her to blush a light pink which was seen through the emerald green feathers of hers. The females sky blue eyes just gazed into his. “Oh what a cute otter you are and very dashing.” She said addressing his collard t-shirt and blue jeans.\nKio motioned her further into his home before closing the door behind her making sure not to catch her tail feathers which had a little bit of yellow in-between the green and blue. Being a good host, the otter lead her around the home, allowing the humming bird to get familiarized and not get lost if she needed the rest room. He was a little shocked for being a hummingbird she was very calm and collect instead of being extremely hyper. \nWhen the tour of his home had been finished the two of them sat down at the table for a nice meal which the otter had made. For himself he had grilled salmon with a bed of wild rice underneath and veggies on the side. However for the hummingbird he had made a nice citrus salad which consisted of pieces of oranges, tomatoes, lettuce, with a sugar water dressing over top of it. He had only been able to make that with the help of getting to know the avian through the constant chatting they had going. Both of them had quickly dug into the meal enjoying the rich flavors that were deep within. \nKio glanced up form his meal as he ahd finished the alst bit of salmon and saw how much Ziax had enjoyed it. This only made his smile bigger and his ehart beat a little faster. “Did you enjoy it?” He asked as he set his knife and fork onto his plate. She quickly replied, “It was very delicious, who taught you to cook like that?”\nThe male thought back and the only thing that came to mind was self taught. “I was slef taught actually.” He replied. However it had been Azi to teach him how to cook so well. The fox had spent a weekwith him just teaching hm how to cook since the otter would sualy go out and eat and wasn’t’ the ebst cook. Thanks to the fox tohugh he was grade A material ina way. \nEventually when it was clear that they were btoh full and no one wanted anything else Kio cleared the table and led the female to the living room where they sat down to watch a movie. Kio was a fan of the horror movies as was Ziax so it was pretty good to sit through a film and not have someone scream. But of course the otter pulled the classic move of yawning while draping his slick furred arm over the birds’ soft feathers. This caused her to chuckle and snuggle in close.\nWhen the movie had finished, Kio stood up and walked the female to the door. Wrapping each other in a hug the bird let go smiling. “I had a wonderful night tonight. Thank you Kio.” She spoke softly and took off back to her own home to rest. Kio thought the night had gone very good and decided to clean the dishes. \nAs the dishes were being attended Kio heard his phone. He checked his pocket but it wasn’t there. He had assumed it was there all night but eventually he padded around the floor and found his phone on the table next to the couch. It had been placed upside down.\nHe picked it up and answered. “Hello?” as soon as he did, the other line was dead. He waited a few seconds and soon there was a voice message. He set it to speak and listened closely. “Hello Kio, Its Azi, tonight is the night I die, if you care please stop me.” The line than soon cut out. Kio’s eyes widened and he was out the door quickly. The fox was still his friend and that was a huge wake up call for him.\nIt took the male sometime until he barged through the foxes’ door but as he did so, Azi kicked the chair under him and dropped with the rope around his neck. Kio had run to stop him but he heard a crack come from his neck. Kio’s heart beat quickly as he grabbed a knife and cut the fox down. There lay the fox in the otter’s lap not breathing. Kio pressed his lips to the foxes to give him CPR but it was useless. The foxes’ neck was broken just like his heart. \nAs the otter held the fox close like a friend would, a small glimmer fo light hit his eye. Peering down at the males hand was the ring with the small gem. Taking the ring off the male he looked inside and soon memories rushed into his head of being with the fox for three years. He remembered everything and just repeated what the ring said. “Like the rivers we will flow together.”\nThe otter began to cry softly onto the fox’s’ head. Tried to shake the male awake but again there was no point. He was chasing a dream right now, Azi would never wake again. Kio cried heavily as he slowly stood up and found the fox’s phone calling for an ambulance. \nIt wasn’t long for the paramedics to arrive and see the otter and fox. Even they couldn’t help but feel sympathy for the otter as they took Azi away on the cart in a black bag. Kio’s entire body shook with tears streaming down his face. The cops had come by and helped the otter asking him questions. The otter tried his best to explain the situation and everything that had lead up to it.\nWhen the body had been removed Kio was taken back to his place by one of the police officers and through the entire night, nightmares were in his dreams. All Kio could see was the fox’s limp body, the cracking of his neck and the pain he had caused the fox to lead this. Every time he saw an image or heard the sound, he would cry in his sleep.\nThe weeks went by slowly until the funeral. Kio had gone back to Azi’s home and looked around to see if the male had something he would have wanted to wear. Upon searching the otter saw a small box and an envelope in a desk. H was curious and so he opened the box first. To his surprise in the box was a ruby ring. The pain struck hard in the otter’s heart. Gulping back the tears he picked up the envelope, opened it and began reading.\nDear Kio,\n\tIf you are reading this than I must be dead or I’m there sharing it with you which means you got your memory back and we are getting married. If not then im sorry to say we will not be together. I hope you find someone you love and your memory doesn’t come back. It would hurt too much to see the pain. Kio what I have here is a ruby ring in memory of you giving me the one you had. I found it lying beside you when you were hit and I couldn’t let it go. Every day you were healing I prayed and hoped you would remember me so we could get married. However I see that with every day it became less and less a chance. \nAnywas Kio I hope the very best for you my cute otter. I love you so very much. I hope one day if not in the living but in the dead that we will meet again.\n\nLove Azi\nThe whole time the otter was reading tears had begun to fall down his face onto the letter soaking through it. The slowly put it into his suit pocket and slipped the ring on making sure it didn’t affect his webbing. He had to wipe away the tears that had gathered and made his way outside to where the rain was coming down. It was a light drizzle and a perfect day for a funeral.\nIt wasn’t long until he arrived at the ceremony and sat down with a few other people the fox had known. Mostly co-workers and his parents. Kio’s parents didn’t arrive because they had been on vacation and unfortunately there wasn’t really anyone to comfort the poor otter who wept silently in the group. The tears that streamed down his fur were mixed with rain. \nWhen the ceremony had finished the casket had been lowered down into the earth and covered up. The otter had walked over and tossed down a red rose to the fox turning away and running back home where he curled up in his bed and cried his tears. The fox was dead and there was no other way to see him. It wasn’t long until he had passed out though.\nThunder boomed as lighting shot down shaking everything. Kio shot upright sweating and panting heavily looking at his clock. It was only midnight and that’s when the otter began to throw his pillow and clock at the wall. He ran to his bathroom and punched the mirror feeling glass get stuck in his paw and feeling the blood. \nStaring at the small piece of glass that remained he nodded knowing what he had to do. Slipping into the clothes he had first met the fox in, he left his house after grabbing a shovel. Kio trekked down the street under the street lights feeling the rain grow heavy, drenching his very clothes and his fur. No one was on the road tonight because the storm made things much harder to see.\nKio reached the cemetery in no time flat and walked to Azi’s grave. He found the headstone quickly and began to weep as he plunged the spade into the dirt. With every strike of his spade lightning shot down and thunder boomed loudly. Tears mixed with rain water fell onto the grave as the otter went further and further down getting dirt in his fur but he didn’t’ care.\nWith a clank he tossed the spade up and dug away the dirt with the rest of his paws revealing the oak casket which the fox was buried in. Slowly he gripped on part and opened it revealing the deceased male’s face. The otter shook his head crying as he pulled the sapphire ring out and slipped it onto the males hand paw. \nKio turned and managed to break the dirt wall so it began to create a mud slide. The otter quickly slid into the casket with Azi, completely soaked, but slowly drying. The otter placed his lips onto the male’s cold ones and cried holding the fox tight. “Forever together my love. I’ll see you soon.” Slowly he closed his eyes and eventually all the dirt had fell onto the casket. The otter struggled to breath but he accepted it as he lay there with his mate. Together with their memories forever.\n","writing_bbcode_parsed":"Lost and Found

Prologue
The male otter watched with tears streaming down his face, mixing with the droplets of water as the one he had loved and cared so much about walked away down the street. His thoughts were attacking him, blinding his senses form anything around him.
Kio was furious with himself and wanted to die, he had broken the heart of the one he loved which in turn, broke his and now he was in shambles, and there was no one around to help put him back together.
The feel of the rain against his fur was gone, the blood pouring out of his hands, his thoughts ceased. He prayed he was dead, he hoped he was out of this world and most of all he hoped Azi would find what he was looking for and forget this otter and be happy.

Kio was very excited for today, it had been the day of his and the fox’s anniversary and it was going to be perfect. They had been together for three years and Kio was going to ask Azi if they could be engaged. He was looking forward to this night all year long and ever since the day he had met the fox.
Kio walked around the small house, feeling his dark chocolate tail slide across the wooden floor as he walked into the kitchen where he grabbed his cell phone. Upon lifting it, he dialed the number for the seafood grill restaurant where he would meet the fox. His voice was calm as he verified that he would be there with Azi.
Seeing that everything was ago Kio realized he had the rest of the day to do whatever he wanted until later at night. Making his way upstairs he hopped into the shower and tried to clean himself as best as possible so that fishy aroma that he gave off wasn’t as strong. It was still there and that was one thing he knew the fox did like.
Kio made sure that he was looking his best for tonight. A warm smile was across his soft face.
Turning away from the mirror the male walked over to his dresser and opened the top drawer up and pulled out a small box and opened it up with a smile across his face.
It wasn’t long until the male otters’ clock rang loudly in his home. He was filled with joy at this point so he quickened his pace a little more than when he had left.
While walking he just looked around at all the cars passing by, other creatures walking into different shops and restaurants. He saw a couple holding hands as they walked, this just made his heart beat faster. The sky didn’t show any kind of change in weather, it had been a nice walk and a great day. He knew it was only going to get better when Azi said yes.
It didn’t take long for Kio to reach the restaurant.
Kio talked to the man at the entrance and was led by a fairly good looking female owl with light brown and white feathers. He was given a menu and he continued his memory. He chuckled remembering that he had said “I didn’t order a fox.” It was stupid and cheesy but that’s what had made it funny to him. It wasn’t long since they got talking after a few apologise and as they had talked they realized they had quite a bit in common. Both the otter and fox wanted to take things slow to get to know each other better and now Kio found himself sitting here waiting to ask the male to marry him.
The male snapped back to the present and looked through the menu after he had ordered himself a pitcher of water with lemons to drink. The otter just assumed work was keeping him or something.
Minutes passed and eventually minutes had turned into hours.
Kio was worried as he followed behind the male fox to the bathroom. His heart beat faster when he walked in and the fox had locked it behind him as he stood a foot away. Kio opened his mouth but as quickly interrupted by the male fox. “Do you think it is fun to find your boyfriend in a sex video?” The otters’ eyes widened and stepped back. “Wh...What?”
The fox pulled his phone out and showed him the video. There on the screen was Kio playing with himself and using a toy. With one click the fox shut it off and just stared into the otters’ eyes. It was clear the fox was upset to a great extent. “You know what Kio, I loved you, and finding this. You know what if you need the attention form everyone fine. But im done with you.” He said with a growl as he stormed past the otter.
Kio tried to grab his arm but was knocked onto the floor with a push. “Get out of here, I don’t want a fucking attention whore as a boyfriend.” Kio stopped with a hurt expression on his face.
The male otter watched with tears streaming down his face, mixing with the droplets of water as the one he had loved and cared so much about walked away down the street. He knew there was nothing else he could do, no words could be formed to apologise, no actions to say I’m sorry. Kio just didn’t move. All he did was watch the fox walk off, vanishing in the heavy rain.
Dropping to his knees in the puddle, he slammed his fists into the concrete crying, but being muted by the heavy rain. “It’s my fault they left, it’s my fault.” He continued to repeat as he just pounded the ground hard with his webbed hands, his tail slumped behind him. His thoughts were attacking him, blinding his senses form anything around him.
Kio was furious with himself and wanted to die, he had broken the heart of the one he loved which in turn, broke his and now he was in shambles, and there was no one around to help put him back together.
The feel of the rain against his fur was gone, the blood pouring out of his hands, his thoughts ceased. He prayed he was dead, he hoped he was out of this world and most of all he hoped Azi would find what he was looking for and forget this otter and be happy.
Slowly the male’s eyes began to open. Looking some more he figured he was in the hospital.
Azi had gotten up and walked over to him and ran his hand over his head. “Hey buddy how re you?” The foxes’ voice was calm and sincere. There was even the hint of sorrow behind it. Looking up at the fox petting his head, the otter spoke. “Who are you?” This was a shot at the male but he figured he was joking.
“Alright haha you got me.” He said allowing himself to smile a bit as he gazed down at the otter in the bed. The otter just looked at him with a confused look. Before the fox could speak again the male lizard doctor came in and spoke to everyone. “Ahh finally you woke up. Truthfully I surprised.” He explained as he made his way to the end of the otters’ bed and scanned over the clipboard. “Hmm we thought you would be in a coma for a while, your boyfriend here stayed by your side though.”
At the mention of him having a boyfriend he spoke up. However in his mind he was very confused on this whole scenario.
While Kio was laying there staring at the black screen of the TV in his room he could hear crying coming from outside. Was that the fox crying? He thought as he kept his gaze fixed on the wooden door. Unfortunately the blinds to see out into the hall was closed so he couldn’t be sure. Tossing his head back to staring at the ceiling he heard the door open and both the lizard and fox walked in.
“Well Kio some good and bad news. The good news is that your injuries will heal in a couple of weeks, you should be walking in a few days though. However the bad news is that it seems you have suffered some brain damage causing amnesia to set in.” The doctor explained as he looked at the otter and back up at the fox. “Well I’ll grab you a wheelchair and you guys will be free to leave.”
The lizard walked out of the room leaving Azi and Kio alone with each other. Kio gazed back up into the male’s eyes seeing the pain that was hidden deep within. He could see that the fox was trying to hold back the tears and show a smile, but it was hard to even hide such pain. The otter felt bad but he didn’t know why. Is this my fault or something?
The fox leaned down and kissed the top of the otters head. When he kissed him a tear fell from his eye onto the top of the males head. This made Kio look at Azi confused. However deep inside Azi’s mind was the fact they had been together for three years and now everything was gone.
It wasn’t long until the doctor came back with a wheelchair. “Alright let’s get you home.” The lizard said as a few other male nurses came in and helped lower the otter into the chair. The fox thanked them as he wheeled Kio out of the hospital and just began walking him home. He would grab his car tomorrow while the male slept.
The fox figured he would see how well the male’s memory was by asking questions. He must have had a guardian watching over him or something that night.
“I don’t know. “I don’t know who you are, but guess you’re either the person that hit me or an old friend or something.” He said softly.
Upon hearing the words escape the otter’s mouth, Azi had to stop and collect himself.
Unfortunately the otter got curious when the sentence wasn’t ended. He didn’t even see when the video was posted and he had been quick to accuse him.
The fox had finally reached the otter’s house still deep in thought and fighting with himself because he figured hew as to be blamed for what happened. Azi carefully helped Kio up from the chair and lifted him inside towards the couch where he was placed down gently. “Well I’ll be taking care of you.” He said and kissed the males lips out of instinct. However when the fox’s lips toughed the otters, Kio moved his head back. “What are you doing?”
The fox stepped back shocked. “I was…kissing you.” He explained. Azi felt hurt by the rejection of the kiss. Something they had done for years.
Kio just looked at him. “Dude I’m not that into you, I’m fine with you being gay and all but I’m not. I may have been gay before my accident but I’m not. I don’t find you very attractive.” He explained
Every word that Kio was assaying was like a sharp blade piercing the fox’s heart. Azi could feel very inch of the pain sink further and further in. It was hard for him to hold back the tears so he quickly walked away into the bathroom leaving the otter on his own.
An hour passed and eventually the fox had come out of the bathroom, it was easy to see that he had been weeping heavily but it was surprising how quiet he had been. The fox walked over and lifted th otter up seeing he had fallen fast asleep. Slowly he carried him up to his bedroom where he tucked him in all snug like. When the otter was in bed he walked downstairs and positioned himself on the couch as he gripped the pillow and fell into a dark nightmarish slumber.
The weeks wore on with the same old thing, the fox tending to the otters wounds making sure he wasn’t hurting himself further. However with each passing day it seemed the otter was remembering more and more except for the fox. Kio still had no idea who Azi was and that just pushed the blades further into his heart. It would be only a matter of time before the foxes’ heart was empty with blood, love and hope. On that day though, who knows what would happen.
Eventually the sun rose high into the sky bringing life back to the earth and casting the darkness back into its home. The birds sang their joyous tunes and squirrels scurried to their trees. Kio was always an early rise and soon he was up on his feet stretching. He was all better now. IT had taken a good month or so but in the time he remembered everything except Azi. To Kio, the fox was a friend, nothing more.
Kio walked down the stairs letting his tail dragged on the cool wood as he took his time. He would occasion feel a little pain but it wasn’t anything he couldn’t’ handle. The otter had sent Azi away back to his home since he was feeling much better. The sad part was when Kio had sent Azi away a week ago he had gotten onto a dating website and talked with a female. Tonight was going to be the first night and Azi had no idea.
The otter made his way around his house tidying things up making sure things were clean. When all was how he liked, he decided to just relax by watching TV until it was time to get ready for his date. He had decided to bring her to his home because he remembered he could cook great meals. Also the fact he didn’t have much money to actually pay for the both of them until next week. Ever since he had been talking to her online he was quite excited to meet her.
Time had quickly passed and soon there was a knock on the door. Kio strolled over and peered through the small looking hole and saw a stunning female humming bird. He smiled warmly as he stepped back and opened the door up for her to come inside.
Slowly the avian walked inside. Kio looked at her brown hair which cascaded down her shoulders over her pink tank top. Her green and blue tipped wings could be easily seen. Her dark blue skinny jeans showed over he well-toned legs. She spoke calmly. “You must be Kio correct?”
The male otter nodded with a warm smile across his face. “Yes and you must be Zixa. My you are such a beautiful creature.” His welcoming tone causing her to blush a light pink which was seen through the emerald green feathers of hers. The females sky blue eyes just gazed into his. “Oh what a cute otter you are and very dashing.” She said addressing his collard t-shirt and blue jeans.
Kio motioned her further into his home before closing the door behind her making sure not to catch her tail feathers which had a little bit of yellow in-between the green and blue. Being a good host, the otter lead her around the home, allowing the humming bird to get familiarized and not get lost if she needed the rest room. He was a little shocked for being a hummingbird she was very calm and collect instead of being extremely hyper.
When the tour of his home had been finished the two of them sat down at the table for a nice meal which the otter had made.
Kio glanced up form his meal as he ahd finished the alst bit of salmon and saw how much Ziax had enjoyed it. This only made his smile bigger and his ehart beat a little faster. “Did you enjoy it?” He asked as he set his knife and fork onto his plate. She quickly replied, “It was very delicious, who taught you to cook like that?”
The male thought back and the only thing that came to mind was self taught.
Eventually when it was clear that they were btoh full and no one wanted anything else Kio cleared the table and led the female to the living room where they sat down to watch a movie. Kio was a fan of the horror movies as was Ziax so it was pretty good to sit through a film and not have someone scream. But of course the otter pulled the classic move of yawning while draping his slick furred arm over the birds’ soft feathers. This caused her to chuckle and snuggle in close.
When the movie had finished, Kio stood up and walked the female to the door. Wrapping each other in a hug the bird let go smiling. “I had a wonderful night tonight. Thank you Kio.” She spoke softly and took off back to her own home to rest. Kio thought the night had gone very good and decided to clean the dishes.
As the dishes were being attended Kio heard his phone. He checked his pocket but it wasn’t there. He had assumed it was there all night but eventually he padded around the floor and found his phone on the table next to the couch. It had been placed upside down.
He picked it up and answered. The fox was still his friend and that was a huge wake up call for him.
It took the male sometime until he barged through the foxes’ door but as he did so, Azi kicked the chair under him and dropped with the rope around his neck.
As the otter held the fox close like a friend would, a small glimmer fo light hit his eye. Peering down at the males hand was the ring with the small gem. Taking the ring off the male he looked inside and soon memories rushed into his head of being with the fox for three years. He remembered everything and just repeated what the ring said. “Like the rivers we will flow together.”
The otter began to cry softly onto the fox’s’ head. Tried to shake the male awake but again there was no point. He was chasing a dream right now, Azi would never wake again. Kio cried heavily as he slowly stood up and found the fox’s phone calling for an ambulance.
It wasn’t long for the paramedics to arrive and see the otter and fox. Even they couldn’t help but feel sympathy for the otter as they took Azi away on the cart in a black bag. Kio’s entire body shook with tears streaming down his face. The cops had come by and helped the otter asking him questions. The otter tried his best to explain the situation and everything that had lead up to it.
When the body had been removed Kio was taken back to his place by one of the police officers and through the entire night, nightmares were in his dreams. All Kio could see was the fox’s limp body, the cracking of his neck and the pain he had caused the fox to lead this. Every time he saw an image or heard the sound, he would cry in his sleep.
The weeks went by slowly until the funeral. Gulping back the tears he picked up the envelope, opened it and began reading.
Dear Kio,
\tIf you are reading this than I must be dead or I’m there sharing it with you which means you got your memory back and we are getting married.
Anywas Kio I hope the very best for you my cute otter. I love you so very much. I hope one day if not in the living but in the dead that we will meet again.

Love Azi
The whole time the otter was reading tears had begun to fall down his face onto the letter soaking through it. The slowly put it into his suit pocket and slipped the ring on making sure it didn’t affect his webbing. He had to wipe away the tears that had gathered and made his way outside to where the rain was coming down. It was a light drizzle and a perfect day for a funeral.
It wasn’t long until he arrived at the ceremony and sat down with a few other people the fox had known. Mostly co-workers and his parents. Kio’s parents didn’t arrive because they had been on vacation and unfortunately there wasn’t really anyone to comfort the poor otter who wept silently in the group. The tears that streamed down his fur were mixed with rain.
When the ceremony had finished the casket had been lowered down into the earth and covered up. The otter had walked over and tossed down a red rose to the fox turning away and running back home where he curled up in his bed and cried his tears. The fox was dead and there was no other way to see him. It wasn’t long until he had passed out though.
Thunder boomed as lighting shot down shaking everything. Kio shot upright sweating and panting heavily looking at his clock. It was only midnight and that’s when the otter began to throw his pillow and clock at the wall. He ran to his bathroom and punched the mirror feeling glass get stuck in his paw and feeling the blood.
Staring at the small piece of glass that remained he nodded knowing what he had to do. Slipping into the clothes he had first met the fox in, he left his house after grabbing a shovel. Kio trekked down the street under the street lights feeling the rain grow heavy, drenching his very clothes and his fur. No one was on the road tonight because the storm made things much harder to see.
Kio reached the cemetery in no time flat and walked to Azi’s grave. He found the headstone quickly and began to weep as he plunged the spade into the dirt. With every strike of his spade lightning shot down and thunder boomed loudly. Tears mixed with rain water fell onto the grave as the otter went further and further down getting dirt in his fur but he didn’t’ care.
With a clank he tossed the spade up and dug away the dirt with the rest of his paws revealing the oak casket which the fox was buried in. Slowly he gripped on part and opened it revealing the deceased male’s face. The otter shook his head crying as he pulled the sapphire ring out and slipped it onto the males hand paw.
Kio turned and managed to break the dirt wall so it began to create a mud slide. Together with their memories forever.
","pools_count":0,"title":"Lost and Found","deleted":"f","public":"t","mimetype":"application/msword","pagecount":"1","rating_id":"2","rating_name":"Adult","ratings":[{"content_tag_id":"5","name":"Strong Violence","description":"Strong violence, blood, serious injury or death","rating_id":"2"}],"submission_type_id":"12","type_name":"Writing - Document","guest_block":"f","friends_only":"f","comments_count":"0","views":"163","sales_description":null,"forsale":"f","digitalsales":"f","printsales":"f","digital_price":""}
