It was apparent from the moment she got there that the intel given was bad. Amy had been hired to protect a small island from a small army that was trying to invade and lay claim to it. She would have some help from the islands army and other mercenaries hired on, they would outnumber the enemy by a small margin. Things quickly got bad as it was apparent as the enemy approached the supposed small army was not small in the least bit and outnumbered the defenders 3 to 1. They also showed they had superior firepower when they unleashed a barrage of firepower onto the island quickly decimating the defenders bunkers, defense points and front lines forcing whoever survived the barrage back inland to shelter and regroup. The backline wasn’t spared either as they took on casualties and injuries as they too were forced back. Amy herself managed to escape back but not after taking some scrapes.
As time went on things did not improve as the invaders continued their march inland securing point after point and forcing Amy and the defenders back time and time again. Moral was not exceptionally high as the casualties and losses mounted but they continued to resist the invaders and for a time held their ground as they got a group of reinforcements and better weapons. Catastrophe would strike several weeks later though when the invaders cease an opportunity to flank around back and decimate Amy’s back line.
Amy and the defenders were not ready for a flank and when it happened there were very few who could reinforce it and drive the flankers back. One by one the snipers, medics and overwatch fell to the opposing force as Amy was forced into a battle much closer then she would have liked. It was during this battle that Amy had to pull her knife and pistol for some close combat over sniping with her rifle. Outnumbered and outgunned the outlook looked grim the kitty as she fought. She managed to do decently well with her small frame but despite this took some direct slashes. As she had taken out the close foes she was fired upon by someone and was grazed by afew shots before being hit in the shoulder and upper torso, going down she managed to take out the shooter but was badly injured from the fight and was unable to recover her pistol and knife.
After the ordeal Amy managed to find her way further in to safety with her rifle where she was picked up by some allies and helped back to the nearest base. The medics were able to remove the bullets and bandage them advising the kitty that she was no longer in fighting shape and too much movement could make the wounds worse. She was safe, but only briefly as the enemy force that had just ambushed her was nearing the base. It was here that the tired and beaten kitty willed herself back to her feet and painfully redressed in her tattered clothing to make one last stand defending this base. Covered in blood from open wounds the kitty picked up her rifle and began firing at the enemy once more, determined to fight till she was no longer able and protect the innocent people of the island.
