  "description": "Earlier this year, I did a commission involving Tiny Kong: https://inkbunny.net/s/3425339\n\nThis got me thinking -- how exactly would I depict Tiny Kong? This posed a problem though... I don't exactly care for Tiny Kong. My main reason is that for all intents and purposes, she's a pointless replacement for Dixie Kong, who is one, if not simply my favorite Kong! Despite this I can say that her design past Donkey Kong Country 64 is pretty solid. She feels fare less like like a \"not-Dixie\", but she still lacks a definitive personality! Not that the Kongs have very strong personalities outside of their basic namesakes. but what exactly IS Tiny's? Generic happy female ape? These are things we need to work on in my opinion.\n\n \n\nFor Tiny Kong my overall idea was to just make her a walking contradiction. Going with her modern design which towers over her older sister, I leaned fully into her being 'tiny' in name only and made her tower over everyone, even DK and K. Rool! As for her personality, playing off of her vibrant colors and affinity for flower print I made her muted, flat and deadpan. Think the Egon Spengler of Donkey Kong Country -- Yes, she likes cute, flowery things and hippie level positive vibes, but she only ever conveys it through emotionless sentiments. \n\n \n\nI couldn't think of a Kong that didn't have somewhat of an energetic vibe to them. A stoic, deadpan Kong was something I've never seen and it would clash with her being in the same game with a character as silly as Lanky Kong. Admittedly, I did dabble in making her full out goth for this, but I felt that would make her essentially a different character separate from who I was trying to draw. My goal here is to take what I'm given and work it to my own liking, not simply turn it into something else entirely which I feel would've happened had I done this... That said, out of all the ones I've done for Donkey Kong December, I'm still not sure I nailed this one unfortunately. Who knows, maybe I'll give the goth look a swing and it'll work. It's hard to say as so far this has been the only character from DKC I've drawn that I really don't care much for! But, what do you all think?",
