Though in reality, they were driven by greed, only wanting to get their grubby little paws on his various magical trinkets and artifacts. He was only considered evil because of how well his security systems worked.\n\nHe stared now at three newly formed statues thanks to said traps. Two wolves and a mouse, all manacarbonized by the same trap. One wolf had a rather impressive sword, the other caring a hunting bow. The mouse may have been some kind of spellcaster herself, judging by her robes and staff. Probably a healer type. He could only guess, as even their gear was all petrified. A small but fairly standard party that liked to call themselves an adventuring group. They obviously did not have the usual fourth member, the sneaky type that favored daggers and had a penchant for spotting traps. If they did, they would not all be hard as stone right now.\n\nArgus shook his head again, waving his hands to form a magical sign in the air, lifting the three statues with a spell. He would need to drag these idiots inside to deal with them. Not just to clear the entrance to his home, but also to grind them down. Manacarbon dust, mixed with oil and beeswax, made for a very good ink for spell scrolls. Many a mage joked that such manacarbon-based ink would last longer than the parchment being written on. Argus sighed, shaking his head. The gecko hated when people tried to sneak into his little keep. It was why he had set up so many traps.
