"writing": "Tales of Khedan\nCurse of the Feral\nChapter 1: Twin Troubles.\nA gentle breeze caressed the autumn leafs, making shaded figures dance and envelope in their own pseudo-existence of the early morning light. Though as calm and serine as the light chirping of birds and swarming of insects were, it was all overwhelmed by the restless beast which wandered the woods of Merudale.\nA hunched over monster of wolfish dimensions with a body bulked up to the brim with muscles, arms extended to which they nearly scraped the ground as it walked on its back legs, a creature covered in pitch black fur from its top to its bottom, only discolored by the tainted patches of blood on its chest and hands. Beneath the amber trees it growled and snarled on its path through the forest, placing its big hands on passing trees, ripping solid marks into them with its razor sharp white claws, slowly approaching an untouched meadow of wild plants.\nCentered on the meadow, the beast cocked its head to the left, glaring at a large aged tree, inhaling the cold morning air through its nostrils, for on the other side of the tree stood a young vixen, grasping a tight hold of her wooden staff, holding her breath to avoid alerting the creature. \nThough, her attempt was in vain as it growled more intently, turning fully towards the tree while silently treading its way to it. The beast smiled a wicked grin, its teeth carried an unmistakable resemblance to daggers and knives, its eyes searing with contempt and violence to which only the foulest demons of hell would have known, and the back fur tensed to the point of quills.\nA little whimper escaped the young vixen as the sound of wood being fletched, roared behind her. Her brown eyes widened with fear and horror, her mind drawing a blank of what to do and her body unable to react to her instincts, as the beast draped itself around the tree slowly, but suddenly it was halted by the loud yelling of another fox.\nShe slammed her staff into the ground with her eyes narrowed, chanting \"Eis manarrus!\" Weak flails of light started to coil around the great beast, making it whimper ever so slightly. It turned towards the other fox, releasing an ear deafening roar before charging at her. The fox yelled \"Do it now Bhina!\"\nThe young vixen heard her words as she snapped out of the dread which had paralyzed her, reacting as quickly as she could. She sprung out from her hiding, slamming her staff into the ground like the other had done and chanted the same words as her.\nThe light still coiling the monster grew much brighter than before, making it stop directly in its track, causing it to fall onto the ground in whimpering pain as the two vixens completed their ritual.\nThe pained whimpers of the monstrous wolf died out after a few moments, leaving only the dead silence from which it had created, a silence only irrupted by the quiet winds, whistling through the narrow branches of the trees. \nThey fell to their knees as it was over, letting out a relieved sigh while they looked upon the unconscious creature, restrained by the still glowing strings of white light. Bhina mumbled while adjusting the golden ring on her head, \"I... I'm sorry Shina.. I froze up..\" Shina smiled back awkwardly at her twin sister as she answered her \"It's okay.. We got him under control now..\"\nBhina and Shina got up from the ground, slowly walking towards the sleeping beast. Shina placed her staff onto her back while she squatted down beside it, carefully nudging at it to see how unconscious it was. She snickered \"It's out cold Bhina.\" Bhinas face lit up with joy as they had succeeded in capturing the terror of Merudale forest, Shina had barely stood up straight again before she was hugged by Bhina who muttered joyfully \"Finally! We did something without screwing up! Evissa will be happy about this for once.\"\nAs the two sisters enjoyed their triumph, in a light embrace, a paw from the beast brushed against Bhinas heel as it moved around in its sleep. The feeling of its touch sent cold shivers down her spine which made her back away from it while turning into Shina, pushing her down. While panting heavily, she quickly came to realize that the creature had moved in its sleep. She sighed relieved by it, then turning to Shina to see her lying on the ground, running her fingers through her yellow, orange and red hair which was placed into wild spikes by the golden ring. She groaned painfully while rubbing the top of her head. Bhina smiled awkwardly at her as she said \"I-I'm sorry Shina, the beast moved.. and.. and.. I paniced..\" Shina growled up at her \"Please be more careful next time!..\" \nShina grumbled annoyedly to herself as she got up, but as Shina sat up, they both heard a loud crack from beneath her which made them freeze up, slowly looking at each other with an expression of mutual understanding. Shina moved away from the spot she was sitting to see her staff, broken into two pieces, she smiled nervously at the sight, mumbling \"Evissa is going to kill us... it's the third staff we've broken this month..\" Bhina nodded slowly while running her hands over the ocean blue qipao with white lining which clothed her body, examining it for cuts and tears while giving both of her matching shoulder pads a quick look. She even checked the long brown leather boots which covered her calfs and feet. She smiled a bit, relieved over it all being intact.\nShina picked up her broken staff, mumbling in a sad tone \"We should make our way back to the Sanctuary.. and deliver the good and bad news to Evissa..\" Bhina nodded slowly, wrapping one arm in over Shinas shoulders to comfort her as they began their walk towards the sanctuary.\nThey slowly treaded the vague paths of the forest, while leafs disengaged from their branches, creating a rain like sensation while the cold air reminded them that winter was approaching. Shina kept on looking at her staff with worried eyes, which made Bhina say “Don’t worry sis, we can fix that without Evissa finding out, we merely have to sneak into the armory.” Shina nodded once before looking at Bhina. “I hope you are right, and more so, I hope that Marroth is guarding the armory today. He’s always had a thing for us.” Shina chuckled “Yeah, he should be fairly easy to distract.”\nAs the forest came to an end, an open grass covered field began, centered on this field was vast building consisting of long tall annexes, sky defying spires and elaborate religious decorations, a massive structure which followed a gothic theme, colliding every shade of grey into the various numbers of stone made walls, ceilings, roofs, pillars, floors, windows and statues, with each of their corners brimmed with carved patterns of curved lines and ripples. Around the Otym sanctuary were dozens of people, some soldiers dressed in plated armor, others archers with leather and bows, though most were as the twins, students of magic.\nBhina and Shina knew they would go unnoticed because of the training that went on around them which made them choose to walk around the sanctuary to the eastern entrance instead of the southern front gates.\nBhina opened the old wooden door carefully, trying to minimize the screeching the old metal work emitted. She slowly leaned her head into the supposedly vacant temple of Jesstra, the goddess of light, a long rectangular room with two half circles, one on each side of the room near the ends from which the doors were located along with a tiny fountain, two rows of cherry wood benches filled up the center with dark grey pillars along them on their sides, a long blue carpet in between them which lead to an altar with a statue of the goddess standing behind it, in her most common depiction, a white owl standing with her hands folded together on her front, her wings spread out to the sides, wearing a long robe with the hood up. She quickly scouting the room to make sure none was there, and her suspicion was right as only strong rays of light occupied the room through the two tinted glass windows behind the statue.\n She motioned to Shina to move in with her. They walked carefully to not make any sounds as they went across the cold grey stone floor with each tile inscribed with ancient words of blessed meaning. They made it to the door leading into the eastern corridors, a long hallway leading to small temples, living quarters, the armory and the eastern garden which was visible from the glassless windows on their right, several of the inhibitors out in it, growing vegetables and fruits. They swiftly left the room to wander north to the armory, away from Evissa.\nThey lurked around the corner of the corridor, looking at the armored gates to the armory to see their hopes had come true, Marroth was guarding the armory today. He was a fairly built golden retriever with messy blonde hair, blue eyes and crooked smile, though a few years older than them. The twins smirked to themselves as they watch him sleeping on the stool, wearing the usual light armor of chainmail and leather straps which guards of the sanctum wore. Bhina whispered quietly. “Okay, I’ll distract him while you take his key, get inside the room and fix the staff.” Shina nodded slowly as Bhina moved out of their hiding place, clearing her throat rather loudly which woke up Marroth as he suddenly sat up straight. He looked a tad scared as he feared Evissa, but smirked as he saw it was one of the twins. “Oh gees... you shouldn’t scare me like that Bhina.” Marroth said while he stood up, adjusting his skull cap helmet and short sword.\nBhina moved towards him in a sensual way, sticking out her chest and batting her eyelashes at him as she stopped besides him, to which he turned towards her, facing away from the armory. Shina slowly snuck up behind him to take the key from his belt while Bhina said “Well, you shouldn’t be sleeping on the job, Evissa would have been furious to see that.” She smirked a bit and Marroth chuckled as he leaned his face a bit down, closer to hers. “Well, I took my chances in the world of dreams, to either be hauled away by a demon… or saved by an angel.” He placed his right hand on her cheek, giving it a gentle stroke as he finished his sentence. Bhina blushed a bit, closing her eyes and pouted as she reminisced the deeds of his past, the countless times she had caught him womanizing. “I’m quite sure I’m not the first to hear that line.” She opened her eyes, giving him an angry glare, though she found it a bit hard with his roughish looks and charming eyes looking at her in sad way. She mumbled. “Stop looking at me like that… I didn’t come to talk to you because of our past… I merely thought you needed to be awakened before greater trouble befell you.” Marroth smiled softly. “Never has such harsh words sounded sweeter.” Bhinas cheeks turned brighter as mixed feelings arose.\nMeanwhile, Shina was looking through the various stacks of weapons, armors and magical artifacts, searching for an old remedy to repair her staff. It was hard to find anything in the armory behind closed doors as the room was very dime with only a few candles to light it up.\nShe coughed quietly as she brushed off dust from a box, opening it with a smile as it contained a large vial of a glowing yellow liquid. She lifted the vial out of the box very carefully, holding it in over the two pieces of her broken staff to then let a drop fall down on each piece. She watched the staff glow up and quickly snap back together with a loud crack. She smiled happily as her staff was fixed, though her smile faded as she noticed the silence, the absence of muffled conversation outside the doors.\n Shina blinked a few times before she felt an intense pain in her right ear as it was being pulled. “Well well, using expensive oils to fix your staff are we?” said Evissa as she pulled harder on her ear. Shina whimpered “I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” Shina looked to her right, seeing her sister’s head being held in a headlock under her right arm, Evissas hand over her mouth so she couldn’t warn her. Evissa switches her hand around so she can pull on Bhinas ear as well, growling in her smooth yet feral tone. “The armory is restricted to higher ranks only. You two have no business in here.” They both whimpered in pain that they were sorry. Evissa flared her wolf fangs as she growled while pulling them out of the room. “I knew sending you two on such a simple mission were a mistake.” She looked over at Marroth to say. “And you, you should have guarded this room, consider yourself on cleaning duty for the next month.” Marroth lowered his head with a sad grumbling while Evissa walked away, dragging the twins with her by the ears.\nThey were dragged all the way back through the eastern corridor and into an office. The fireplace flared up a bit as the door was opened, mixing the winds. The room was brightly lit from the fireplace and the candles along the walls, the floor covered by a large carpet with seemingly random patterns of color, walls covered with bookshelves, pictures and wall ornaments of religious origin. Evissa placed herself in a large dark wooden chair with red posturing, crossing her legs and narrowing her eyes at the two girls, rubbing their brightly red ears.\nEvissa slowly inhaled before saying as calmly as she could “So, aside from breaking an entry on the armory, stealing valuable liquids and dishonoring a guard. Did you succeed with your mission?” Bhina quickly nodded and spoke up. “Yes! We did Lady Evissa, we captured the… monster.” Evissa nodded once. “Good, I will send a transport unit to pick him up.” Shina placed her hands on the desk, leaning in a bit with a soft smile. “So… we did good, right?” Evissa glanced at her before saying. “You did acceptably. Next time, please don’t break your equipment.” Evissa stood back up, folding her arms in under her quite impressive bust. “All in all, I will still have to punish both of you, you can start off with helping Marroth with cleaning duty.” They lowered their ears and sighed. “Yes Lady Evissa…” She motioned for them to leave as she said “Dismissed.”\nShina looked over to Bhina once the door was closed behind them. “Well… cleaning duty isn’t that bad hehe.” Bhina gave the back of her head a hard hit. “For a starter, she will come up with something else, soon.” She growled. Shina pouted her lips “Hey, I said I was sorry about the whole thing.” Bhina started to walk with a sigh, walking into the central area of the sanctuary while saying. “It’s okay sis, at least we are both safe.” She smiled softly.\nThey moved through the corridor, walking past the other priests, mages and soldiers, all of them heading for one thing or another, all of them with their own tasks and duties, responsibility and plight. Bhina walked into the large church which everything was build up around. A magnificent piece of art, every inch of it was decorated in some form or way, be it ornaments, carvings or clothed with the most elaborate carpets, the vast size of the church caused it to be dime in several areas to which the tinted glass windows couldn’t shine light upon.\nBhina walked over to large wooden closet, opening it to take out two large mops, handing one to Shina who sighed at it, saying. “We might as well get started on our cleaning duties, maybe if we do a great job, she’ll spare us for more work…” Bhina nodded silently while carrying a bucket outside the church area to get some water from a large wooden barrel. She filled it up and added soap before starting to clean the floors with her sister.\nEvissa heard a stern knocking at her door; she cracked a faint smile, knowing who it was. She spoke up while looking out a window facing away from the door. “You needn’t knock, Voltarrik.” He opened the door and stepped inside. A black wolf dressed in heavy armor. Plated chainmail decorated with symbols of the sanctuary, polished and refined so it reflected light with the intensity of the sun. A long cape draped in over his shoulder, attached with golden nubs. He wore an eye patch in over his left eye, a few scars on his face were visible along with a somewhat absence of emotions. He observed Evissa for a moment before speaking up, looking at her long thin legs, covered in her beautiful grey fur, her illustrious figures and well defined shapes concealed by the advanced version of the qipao the twins wear.\n“Did they succeed?” Evissa simply nodded in compliance to his question. Voltarrik moved further into the room, closing the door behind him. “Good, it’s the tenth beast we’ve had to capture this month. Hopefully, this one can still be converted back.” Evissa replied as motionless as a statue. “The chances are highly unlikely.” Voltarrik smiled a bit. “Always been an optimist.” He slowly filled a glass with a dark whiskey, taking a slight sip of it. “The source to these, conversions must be dealt with.” “You mean found.” He twirled the liquid around in the glass as he went over beside her, looking out through the window at the soldiers training. “I think that was implied in my statement.” Evissa kept on staring out the window. “Maybe, but we have no clue or idea about the cause, making it rather hard to deal with.”\nVoltarrik nodded and turned around, placing the glass back onto her desk. “I am aware of this matter, nonetheless, I will find the source and exterminate it. Just make sure your minions continue the capturing and conversion while we deal with the source.” He looked over his shoulder at her. “Always a pleasure speaking to you Lady Evissa.” She mumbled back “Always a pleasure, Lord Voltarrik.”\nShina pushed the wet mop forward across the stone floors, smiling softly as she asked. “So, what happened after I went inside the armory?” Bhina tensed up a bit, clearing her throat as she tried to hide her blush. “Nothing happened, we were simply talking and then… Evissa came, you know the rest.” Shina chuckled, moving up beside her to wrap one arm around her shoulders. “Aww sis, from what I saw before I went in, you seemed to rather like having his attention again.” Bhina elbowed Shinas stomach, grumbling “I’m not interested in him anymore, he is a cheating bastard.” Shina released her, rubbing her stomach with a pained groan. “Whatever makes you sleep a night hehe…”\nWhile the twins scrubbed and did their best to clean the main church, Marroth had found a cozy seat in one of the many corners to doze off in, first awakening at the soft voice of an arctic fox. “Marroth… Marroth… Wake up.”\nMarroth sat up straight quickly, yelping “I wasn’t sleeping! I- oh.” He stopped midsentence as he saw the bleachedly white fur, the innocent blue eyes and the partially worried and awkward smile of the young Alekstro. “By Jesstra, why is everyone so eager to scare me today.” Alekstro shrugged cluelessly. “Erhm… I was sent by Eklar to inform you about an upcoming journey into Merudale.” Marroth raised an eyebrow. “We are going into Merudale Forest? How come?” Alekstro shrugged once again, looking over at the twins working. “I don’t know Marroth…”\nMarroth stretched and yawned while saying “Mm… Well, it doesn’t matter. Hopefully it’s just another scouting mission, nothing dangerous, easily completed hehe.” He smirked “Personally I hope we get on a mission with Bhina or Shina, or Ystri or even Evissa…” Alekstra looked at him with scared eyes as he asked. “Evissa? You like her?..” Marroth chuckled. “In a way, yes. She might be scary, brutish and very mean to us, but she is very beautiful if you just look beyond this.” Marroth nodded sagely. The arctic fox raised an eyebrow at his deeper than usual comment as he muttered. “It’s the breasts, isn’t it?” Marroth just kept on nodding while mumbling “That too.”\nAlekstro shook his head at him and said “Shouldn’t you get to work; you can’t just leave it all to the twins, they’ll get furious with you.” Marroth got up, stretching out in the slowest of fashions with a slight yawn. “One must be thoroughly prepared before working Alekstro, it takes some time before I can begin.” Alekstro turned around; about to leave, but he paused as he heard the sound of Marroth falling to the floor after being hit by a large wet sponge. He turned around to see Bhina yelling at him “Get to work you lazy bastard!” He propped himself up on his elbows after removing the sponge from his face, growling back at her. “I was about to work! You maniacal witch!” Bhinas face turned red with rage as the last word had escaped his mouth.\nShina reacted quickly and took hold of Bhina as she stomped her way over to Marroth who had gotten back up on his feet, with a frightened smile on his face. Bhina growled fiercely at him “What did you call me?..” Marroth rubbed the back of his head slowly with closed eyes as he chuckled. “I didn’t call you anything Bhina hehe, your hearing must have been off a bit as I was merely complimenting you.” She raised a brow, grumbling. “Right…” She grabbed the mob he should have been working with and pushed it up against his chest forcefully. “Get to work… now.” She stared long and hard into his eyes as he gazed back into hers with a certain amount of fear. He merely nodded to her comment, taking hold of the mob.\nBhina turned around to walk back to her own mob to continue the cleaning. Shina released a soft sigh, looking at Alekstro with a smile. “Oh hello Alekstro, I hadn’t noticed you were there.” Alekstro blushed softly while looking at the floor. “H-hey Shina, It’s okay.” Shina tilted her head confusedly as he reacted shyly to her, shrugging it off with a wave as she turned around to catch up to Bhina, sort of yelling back to them. “It was nice seeing you again Alekstro.”\nBoth Marroth and Alekstro sighed once they were both gone. Marroth mumbled “I wish I had been together with Shina… She is much more open minded and a bit more childish than her sister.” Alekstro nodded a bit while saying.”Y-yeah, she is quite different than her sister…” He kept watching her for a few more seconds before turning to Marroth who chuckled. “Yep and completely dense. I’m sure even Bhina has picked up on your interest.”\nAlekstro blushed brightly while mumbling nervously “I-I-I Don’t think she would be i-interested in me… She is far too pretty.” Marroth shrugged at him. “She looks like her sister, she went for me, I’m sure she could go for a guy like you if you just tried, as she is… somewhat clueless.”\nAlekstro looked over at her once while saying “Maybe…” He then turned around again and left Marroth to his duties. \nHours went by as the three cleaned up the main church, getting everything washed and polished to the point where it appeared to be brand new.\nBhina kicked off her boots before thumping down onto her bed, letting out a tired moan. “Finally done… I hope she doesn’t have any more tasks like this for us.” Shina sat down on her own bed which was located a few feet from Bhinas. “Yeah, but knowing Evissa, I’m sure we will get some more punishment.”\nBhina let out another sad and tired moan in responds to her sister’s train of thought. Shina leaned backwards onto the bed, kicking her boots off aswell before getting fully up onto it in a lying position. Bhina propped her chin up onto her arms which were folded in front of her, looking over at her sister. “I’m so tired, and yet darkness hasn’t even set in.” Shina yawned with her eyes closed, mumbling back at her. “I know… But.” She opened her eyes half way, looking over at Bhina. “I’m still curious to know what precisely happened while I was in the armory. You aren’t normally that easily irritated by Marroths comments.” Bhinas eyes strolled to the side, looking away from her while she thought. She mumbled quietly as her arms muffled her mouth. “Nothing happened sis, honestly. I was just reminded of his good side and then his bad side, and what he did…”\nBhina tilted her head more down so her eyes disappeared into her arms. Shina frowned and got out of her bed, moving over onto Bhinas, giving her a pull so her front pressed against hers as she leaned against some pillows, smiling softly at Bhina. “Please, don’t feel bad about this, I know he cheated on you but… he is just got a thing for… a different kind of girls.” Bhina rested her head in under hers, staring off into space with partially wet eyes as she answered back, “I know… But he was still very nice to me back then.” Shina sighed, hugging her tightly. “Maybe, but he hasn’t been that nice to you lately. And my sister deserves the best.” Shina snickered and gave the top of her head a soft kiss. Bhina couldn’t help herself from laughing a bit while saying “When did you become the elder sister? Though as calm and serine as the light chirping of birds and swarming of insects were, it was all overwhelmed by the restless beast which wandered the woods of Merudale.
A hunched over monster of wolfish dimensions with a body bulked up to the brim with muscles, arms extended to which they nearly scraped the ground as it walked on its back legs, a creature covered in pitch black fur from its top to its bottom, only discolored by the tainted patches of blood on its chest and hands. Beneath the amber trees it growled and snarled on its path through the forest, placing its big hands on passing trees, ripping solid marks into them with its razor sharp white claws, slowly approaching an untouched meadow of wild plants.
Centered on the meadow, the beast cocked its head to the left, glaring at a large aged tree, inhaling the cold morning air through its nostrils, for on the other side of the tree stood a young vixen, grasping a tight hold of her wooden staff, holding her breath to avoid alerting the creature.
Though, her attempt was in vain as it growled more intently, turning fully towards the tree while silently treading its way to it. The beast smiled a wicked grin, its teeth carried an unmistakable resemblance to daggers and knives, its eyes searing with contempt and violence to which only the foulest demons of hell would have known, and the back fur tensed to the point of quills.
A little whimper escaped the young vixen as the sound of wood being fletched, roared behind her. Her brown eyes widened with fear and horror, her mind drawing a blank of what to do and her body unable to react to her instincts, as the beast draped itself around the tree slowly, but suddenly it was halted by the loud yelling of another fox.
She slammed her staff into the ground with her eyes narrowed, chanting "Eis manarrus!" Weak flails of light started to coil around the great beast, making it whimper ever so slightly. It turned towards the other fox, releasing an ear deafening roar before charging at her. The fox yelled "Do it now Bhina!"
The young vixen heard her words as she snapped out of the dread which had paralyzed her, reacting as quickly as she could. She sprung out from her hiding, slamming her staff into the ground like the other had done and chanted the same words as her.
The light still coiling the monster grew much brighter than before, making it stop directly in its track, causing it to fall onto the ground in whimpering pain as the two vixens completed their ritual.
The pained whimpers of the monstrous wolf died out after a few moments, leaving only the dead silence from which it had created, a silence only irrupted by the quiet winds, whistling through the narrow branches of the trees.
They fell to their knees as it was over, letting out a relieved sigh while they looked upon the unconscious creature, restrained by the still glowing strings of white light. Bhina mumbled while adjusting the golden ring on her head, "I... I'm sorry Shina.. I froze up.." Shina smiled back awkwardly at her twin sister as she answered her "It's okay.. We got him under control now.."
Bhina and Shina got up from the ground, slowly walking towards the sleeping beast. Shina placed her staff onto her back while she squatted down beside it, carefully nudging at it to see how unconscious it was. She snickered "It's out cold Bhina." Bhinas face lit up with joy as they had succeeded in capturing the terror of Merudale forest, Shina had barely stood up straight again before she was hugged by Bhina who muttered joyfully "Finally! We did something without screwing up! Evissa will be happy about this for once."
As the two sisters enjoyed their triumph, in a light embrace, a paw from the beast brushed against Bhinas heel as it moved around in its sleep. Bhina smiled awkwardly at her as she said "I-I'm sorry Shina, the beast moved.. and.. and.. I paniced.." Shina growled up at her "Please be more careful next time!.."
Shina grumbled annoyedly to herself as she got up, but as Shina sat up, they both heard a loud crack from beneath her which made them freeze up, slowly looking at each other with an expression of mutual understanding. Shina moved away from the spot she was sitting to see her staff, broken into two pieces, she smiled nervously at the sight, mumbling "Evissa is going to kill us... it's the third staff we've broken this month.." Bhina nodded slowly while running her hands over the ocean blue qipao with white lining which clothed her body, examining it for cuts and tears while giving both of her matching shoulder pads a quick look. She even checked the long brown leather boots which covered her calfs and feet. She smiled a bit, relieved over it all being intact.
Shina picked up her broken staff, mumbling in a sad tone "We should make our way back to the Sanctuary.. and deliver the good and bad news to Evissa.." Bhina nodded slowly, wrapping one arm in over Shinas shoulders to comfort her as they began their walk towards the sanctuary.
They slowly treaded the vague paths of the forest, while leafs disengaged from their branches, creating a rain like sensation while the cold air reminded them that winter was approaching. He’s always had a thing for us.” Shina chuckled “Yeah, he should be fairly easy to distract.”
As the forest came to an end, an open grass covered field began, centered on this field was vast building consisting of long tall annexes, sky defying spires and elaborate religious decorations, a massive structure which followed a gothic theme, colliding every shade of grey into the various numbers of stone made walls, ceilings, roofs, pillars, floors, windows and statues, with each of their corners brimmed with carved patterns of curved lines and ripples. Around the Otym sanctuary were dozens of people, some soldiers dressed in plated armor, others archers with leather and bows, though most were as the twins, students of magic.
Bhina and Shina knew they would go unnoticed because of the training that went on around them which made them choose to walk around the sanctuary to the eastern entrance instead of the southern front gates.
Bhina opened the old wooden door carefully, trying to minimize the screeching the old metal work emitted. She quickly scouting the room to make sure none was there, and her suspicion was right as only strong rays of light occupied the room through the two tinted glass windows behind the statue.
She motioned to Shina to move in with her. They swiftly left the room to wander north to the armory, away from Evissa.
They lurked around the corner of the corridor, looking at the armored gates to the armory to see their hopes had come true, Marroth was guarding the armory today. “Oh gees... you shouldn’t scare me like that Bhina.” Marroth said while he stood up, adjusting his skull cap helmet and short sword.
Bhina moved towards him in a sensual way, sticking out her chest and batting her eyelashes at him as she stopped besides him, to which he turned towards her, facing away from the armory. “Never has such harsh words sounded sweeter.” Bhinas cheeks turned brighter as mixed feelings arose.
Meanwhile, Shina was looking through the various stacks of weapons, armors and magical artifacts, searching for an old remedy to repair her staff. It was hard to find anything in the armory behind closed doors as the room was very dime with only a few candles to light it up.
She coughed quietly as she brushed off dust from a box, opening it with a smile as it contained a large vial of a glowing yellow liquid. She lifted the vial out of the box very carefully, holding it in over the two pieces of her broken staff to then let a drop fall down on each piece. She watched the staff glow up and quickly snap back together with a loud crack. She smiled happily as her staff was fixed, though her smile faded as she noticed the silence, the absence of muffled conversation outside the doors.
Shina blinked a few times before she felt an intense pain in her right ear as it was being pulled. “And you, you should have guarded this room, consider yourself on cleaning duty for the next month.” Marroth lowered his head with a sad grumbling while Evissa walked away, dragging the twins with her by the ears.
They were dragged all the way back through the eastern corridor and into an office. The fireplace flared up a bit as the door was opened, mixing the winds. The room was brightly lit from the fireplace and the candles along the walls, the floor covered by a large carpet with seemingly random patterns of color, walls covered with bookshelves, pictures and wall ornaments of religious origin. Evissa placed herself in a large dark wooden chair with red posturing, crossing her legs and narrowing her eyes at the two girls, rubbing their brightly red ears.
Evissa slowly inhaled before saying as calmly as she could “So, aside from breaking an entry on the armory, stealing valuable liquids and dishonoring a guard. “Yes Lady Evissa…” She motioned for them to leave as she said “Dismissed.”
Shina looked over to Bhina once the door was closed behind them. “It’s okay sis, at least we are both safe.” She smiled softly.
They moved through the corridor, walking past the other priests, mages and soldiers, all of them heading for one thing or another, all of them with their own tasks and duties, responsibility and plight. Bhina walked into the large church which everything was build up around. A magnificent piece of art, every inch of it was decorated in some form or way, be it ornaments, carvings or clothed with the most elaborate carpets, the vast size of the church caused it to be dime in several areas to which the tinted glass windows couldn’t shine light upon.
Bhina walked over to large wooden closet, opening it to take out two large mops, handing one to Shina who sighed at it, saying. “We might as well get started on our cleaning duties, maybe if we do a great job, she’ll spare us for more work…” Bhina nodded silently while carrying a bucket outside the church area to get some water from a large wooden barrel. She filled it up and added soap before starting to clean the floors with her sister.
Evissa heard a stern knocking at her door; she cracked a faint smile, knowing who it was. He observed Evissa for a moment before speaking up, looking at her long thin legs, covered in her beautiful grey fur, her illustrious figures and well defined shapes concealed by the advanced version of the qipao the twins wear.
“Did they succeed?” Evissa simply nodded in compliance to his question. “Maybe, but we have no clue or idea about the cause, making it rather hard to deal with.”
Voltarrik nodded and turned around, placing the glass back onto her desk. “I am aware of this matter, nonetheless, I will find the source and exterminate it. Just make sure your minions continue the capturing and conversion while we deal with the source.” He looked over his shoulder at her. “Always a pleasure speaking to you Lady Evissa.” She mumbled back “Always a pleasure, Lord Voltarrik.”
Shina pushed the wet mop forward across the stone floors, smiling softly as she asked. “Whatever makes you sleep a night hehe…”
While the twins scrubbed and did their best to clean the main church, Marroth had found a cozy seat in one of the many corners to doze off in, first awakening at the soft voice of an arctic fox. “Marroth… Marroth… Wake up.”
Marroth sat up straight quickly, yelping “I wasn’t sleeping! “I don’t know Marroth…”
Marroth stretched and yawned while saying “Mm… Well, it doesn’t matter. “It’s the breasts, isn’t it?” Marroth just kept on nodding while mumbling “That too.”
Alekstro shook his head at him and said “Shouldn’t you get to work; you can’t just leave it all to the twins, they’ll get furious with you.” Marroth got up, stretching out in the slowest of fashions with a slight yawn. You maniacal witch!” Bhinas face turned red with rage as the last word had escaped his mouth.
Shina reacted quickly and took hold of Bhina as she stomped her way over to Marroth who had gotten back up on his feet, with a frightened smile on his face. He merely nodded to her comment, taking hold of the mob.
Bhina turned around to walk back to her own mob to continue the cleaning. “It was nice seeing you again Alekstro.”
Both Marroth and Alekstro sighed once they were both gone.
