After recently moving into this new house in a new region, she was often disoriented in the morning mistaking this room for her old room. \n\nSitting up in the pile of blankets and pillows coiled around her, her mother's Fletchling landed on her head, happily chirping away. There were maybe a dozen houses altogether; this place gave a whole new meaning to living in the \"sticks\". Mom's prized racing Rhyhorn was asleep on its bed right outside the door. We hurried by it and out of the small town gates that lead to the Vaniville Pathway, also known as Route 1.\n\n[center]--------Route 1 (Vaniville Pathway)--------[/center]\n\nThere wasn't much to Route 1. It was just a dirt pathway the connected Vaniville with Aquacorde. Dense shrubbery on either side makes it too hard for most Pokémon to get onto it and those that do are easily avoided due to the lack of grass and shrubbery on the path itself. \n\nAquacorde Town really was interesting though. It was nice and quiet, though had the conveniences we've come to expect in our modern world. Multiple stores, a place to heal Pokémon, even a beautiful high class restaurant. Which as it turns out, is exactly where we were meeting these two mystery friends of theirs. \n\n[center]------------Aquacorde Town------------[/center]\n\nThe restaurant was located right inside the city gates of Aquacorde. The serene little town was very quiet with only a few people out in the main plaza that the patio the restaurant had set up tables on. Calem and Shauna led her over to the only duo sitting at one of the tables. One of them was very short, with an oddly large head. The other was tall and kinda... well, fat, with a head too small for his body. She shakes her head, trying to shake out her initial opinions of them, always better to actually get to know people before judging them. There was a large giftwrapped box sitting in the middle of the table as well. The big one was the first to speak up out of the two of them, and honestly, his second impression was worse that the first. His voice normal enough, unfortunately he was one of those people that decided to try and rap. Every. Last. Word. \n\n\"Yo yo yo, birthday girl in the house! Sit on down and let's party like a mouse~! The name's Tiiierrrrrnooooooo\"\n\nIt took literally all of Tia's willpower not to be extremely rude and walk away right then. Thankfully the smaller one could read the situation a liiiittle better.\n\n\"Tierno, shut it will you?! I'm sorry about that, he gets rather excitable. I'm Trevor, pleasure to make your acquaintance.\" \n\nTen points to Trevor, she decided silently. She bowed politely to both and them and introduced herself with a smile. Calem and Shauna rushed her to the table and sat on either side of her and urged her to open the present on the table. She giggled with the glee any 10-year-old would feel upon opening a large cylindrical present. \nInside the box there was a small metallic pedestal with several screens on it. The face of a man in his mid-thirties came up on them. \n\n\"Happy Birthday, dear Tia Wulf, and welcome to the Kalos. I am Professor Sycamore, and this is my multipart birthday present to you. Firstly, you may choose a Pokémon from the selection that will come up after this video finishes. The rest of your friends here may also choose one. Along with the Pokémon I will also be giving you a pokedex. This is simply a request, but it would be extraordinarily helpful to me if you would help fill out that pokedex. Of course there'd be adequate compensation as well. After you all choose your first Pokémon, make your way to my lab in Lumoise City for your next surprise.\"\n\nWhen the video stopped, the screens withdrew and an elegant mechanism raised 5 arms out of the pedestal, each holding a pokeball and each with a screen explaining which Pokémon was inside. The second Tia laid eyes upon the fiery fox in front of her she knew they belonged together and took the ball. Once the ball was lifted off the arm it retracted inside and brought out the pokedex. The design was sleek, two curved handles on either side and an extending hologlass center. The pokedex quickly displayed information on her new partner: Fenniken. \n\nTia pressed the small button on the ball allowing the Fenniken out of the ball as the others debated over which Pokémon to choose. In a burst of pure white energy, the small female fire fox appeared on the table and shook herself, peering curiously at her new mistress. Unable to contain her glee, Tia wrapped her arms around the little one, immediately nuzzling her. \n\n\"Sooo cuuuute <3 Now what to call you... Hmm, how about 'Rinko' do you like that?\"\n\nThe little Fenniken seemed to adore the attention, nuzzling right back into Tia and make happy yips and jumps around upon hearing her new name. The other brand new trainers all picked their Pokémon and take their dexes. \nCalem is the first to stand, his new Froakie sitting on his shoulder. \n\n\"Alright everyone, let's go to Lumoise as a group, it'll be more fun that way!\"\n\nShauna and the rest agree excitedly.
