"description": "DO YOU LIKE TRANSFORMATION? DO YOU LIKE WEREOTTERS AND WEREHORSES? THEN KEEP READING!\n\n\n\n“So, here we are,・ Brandon says, since it seems that's all there is to say. Silence pours back in to replace his voice in the darkness, and I'm reminded that we're once again faced with each other, awkward and needlessly tense. \n\n“Yeah, we are,” I say, because I’ve run out of things to say to Brandon in the past month. I’ve yelled things, and cried most of them too, and even now part of me thinks I’m crazy for even allowing him back into my life. \n\nIt’s only three nights a month, if that. People do it all the time. At least, that’s what he’d said when he crawled back. Yeah, but you can’t take something like that back. And I’ve got more to lose than he does, in some ways. Brandon doesn’t have much of a choice.\n\nBut we have something. We had, at least; three awesome years until I thought it would be exciting to swing. And then Brandon thought it was cool to get revenge. So, in a way, we’re here because of me. \n\nThe Eurythmics are playing on the radio, soft so that the bass doesn’t shine through like it should. I think about twisting it off but just leave it. \n\n“Sonny?” he says meekly. It’s Salvatore, but nobody calls me that. Not since middle school. \n\n“Yeah?” \n\nHe drops his chin to his chest so his words are half-muffled in his jacket’s collar. “Thanks for not giving up on me.” He might as well be thanking himself. I’m still not convinced I’m doing the right thing.\n\nQueen comes on, Freddie Mercury singing something that’s not even on the Billboard chart. It would be refreshing, normally, but tonight it just makes me uncomfortable. I twist the Eldo’s ignition to OFF and pocket the keys. “Sure,” I say, not sure at all whether I mean it or not.\n\nIt’s only slightly colder outside the Eldo than in, thanks to the nine-year-old convertible top with duct-tape patches, the best I can do right now. I’m okay, but Brandon’s lost a lot of weight and he shivers easily. It occurs to me, watching him extricate himself from the big Caddy, that this might be the last night I see him like he is. Part of me is glad, but mostly I’m scared.\n\nA breeze whips around the corner of the two-story apartment building and blows Brandon’s Mohawk into a frenzy. I wonder if that’ll still be there at the end of the night. The nose ring, probably. I just don’t know.\n\n“C’mon,” I say, putting an arm around his back (I can feel his hips even through the jacket) and leading him to the stairs.\n\n*\n\nLooking back on it now, of course it seems foolish and immature. But when you’re in the middle of the problem, you can’t see the forest for the cuter, more available trees.\n\nIt was selfish, I know, but I told myself at the time that Brandon was just as selfish for taking a job that kept him away from me three days a week and put us on opposing schedules for three more. Sunday was just long enough to catch up on sleep and settle for a halfhearted handjob and it was Monday again, and he would be out of town by the time I woke up.\n\nThe first time was clumsy, but it was hot. And so, so stupid. But hot. A glory hole in a well-known cruising spot in Memphis that went from a blowjob to anal before I knew what was happening. It’d been so long that I couldn’t move away; a cop could’ve handcuffed me and I still would’ve blown balls-deep in that random hole. \n\nI felt guilty for a few days, then went back when Brandon was at work for the night. It wasn’t the same guy, but I didn’t much care. It was a hole, and for a few minutes it was mine. \n\nGoing to the clubs crossed the line from fooling around to all-out cheating, if you even care to differentiate the two. I do, because that’s where I stopped acting like an adulterer and started acting just plain single. Took my promise ring off and everything and cornered some guy who looked like he should have a wristband instead of a light beer. \n\nIt was good for a few weeks, until the first time I brought him home coincided with the first time Brandon got off early in nearly forever.\n\nHe ended up punching me so hard I almost passed out, but I wouldn’t get him arrested. I deserved it. I think I was hoping for it, in a way. And then he disappeared for six months.\n\nI don’t know if Brandon will ever tell me exactly what happened between March and September. I don’t even know if I have a right to know at this point. After he showed me the tests―after I knew what it was―did the rest of it really matter? He only had one thing, but it was the biggest thing.\n\nHe’d wanted to go to San Francisco, he said, but only had enough money to get to New York and hole up with a friend from college. Quit his job and everything. He told me he needed time to think, but he ended up doing a lot more fucking than thinking. And right around May Day he got sick. And right around Independence Day he got diagnosed.\n\nAnd right around Labor Day he came back home with an idea.\n\n*\n\n[i]Head back to the old neighborhood.\n\nFor centuries, Halloween has evolved from autumnal harvest festivals, through nights of mischief and mayhem, up to celebrations of what scares us and all the points in between. This year, we invite you to travel back in time to a few select years in the history of All Hallows’ Eve as told from a furry perspective. And as usual, we have both tricks and treats for grown-ups to get you through the night.\n\nTo start, Trick will take you on a whirlwind tour through a few different eras of Samhains past, where Huskyteer, Jason “Houston” Walther, NightEyes DaySpring, Slip-Wolf, Bill “Hafoc” Rogers, and Tarl “Voice” Hoch will work to give you some historical, hair-raising horror.\n\nAfterwards, follow Treat slowly back though four different ages of stimulating Halloween erotica, where Whyte Yoté, Chris “Sparf” Williams, Roland Jovaik, and Ianus J. Wolf offer you different takes on the hot and heavy side of the shifting holiday.\n\nCome along and enjoy another round of Trick or Treat.\n\nThis item is available for preorder.
