However he is also cocky and so despite his strength he finds himself trying to take on things he has no chance at defeating. One day, Pancham went to the Ghastly Gardens a place of mourning. Pancham however went on a dare. As he approached the Ghastly Gardens he was stopped by a Gengar.\n\n\"Hey kid... turn back while you still got a chance... you fighting types will get eaten for lunch in here...\" Pancham confident as ever scoffs at the warning. \"Psh just because I haven't evolved doesn't mean I am not tough! I even know focus energy so I can take a few ghosts. I am like the strongest pokemon ever!\" Gengar grins, \"Oh is that so? I usually don't take the time to mess around with weak pokemon but...\"\n\nA battle ensues. Gengar was level 50 and Pancham despite being level 20 was no way near being able to take on the tactics this ghost had to offer. Right off the rip... Gengar used Confuse Ray and Pancham couldn't tell heads from tails stumbling all over the place. [As they are fighting the Pancham rather than doing anything productive licks the Gengar's backside.]\n\n\nGengar drags him forward by the hair and says, \"You know... it's the Ghastly Gardens because people who die here, turn into ghost pokemon. I'll teach you some manners boy.\" Following up with Hypnosis really made Pancham quite unable to resist the stronger pokemon, used as his toy admist these tactics. \"Heh, what you need is a trainer to teach you some things, isn't that right? Well, fine. I'll be your trainer. How's that sound hehehe.\" Through rough abuse that lasted what seemed forever Gengar forced Pancham to level up. \"No, you've got to use your tongue boy, you can't Lick without your tongue.\" Thus Pancham was made to service the Gengar.\n\n\"I guess you learned a little bit but... here let me show you how to lick...\" Just as Pancham feels as if he is breaking the hypnosis, well placed Lick sends shivers up his spine and paralyzes him. \"You gotta put extra drool and let them feel all of it.\" Pancham finally as he shudders is put down onto the tree stump that the Gengar was standing infront of. \"Nn-no... I was supposed to be the strongest!\" \n\n\"Maybe you could be if you used your brain and listened to the advice of others. Without that you are nothing more than a brawler.\" A well placed pound makes the Pancham squeal and between struggling pointlessly in confusion, the shiver of paralysis making it hard to move and several more itterations of pound and Pancham was knocked out before he could really do any decent damage to the ghost.\n\nThe lesson of the story: What you've prepared for and what lies in wait in reality are two different things.
