I thought we taught you better than that, you were better than that!\" Sonic bellowed at the young man standing in the centre high court. The man was in chains being held by twelve large bears. Along side Sonic six council members, three on each side of their king all kept their eyes on the accused who was standing trial.\n\nOn the stands the young mans wife and children watched sadly at the scene before them. Each one knowing that their father/husbands guilt had already been decided.\n\n\"With all due respect your majesty, you taught me nothing of use! Only that we should be weak and take what is coming our way. What my company does is not your or this councils business, Just because you cannot and will not obtain the means of defence does not mean others will not. I am a provider, that is all.\"\n\n\"You were selling weapons to our enemies, statements of death. How many innocent lives do you think have been taken by your inventions?\" The air in the room was tense, but this had been a long time coming.\n\n\"My weapons are for defence purposes, you are so quick to point out the negative but you refuse to acknowledge the good we have done. What about the food we provide? What about the jobs we create? What about the medicine we produce? Medicine which as I remember saved your child's life!\"\n\n\"He has nothing to do with this!\" Sonic's face was no visibly red, this was not something he wanted but knew he must do. The young king looked at his sides at the council members, he could see they were eager to end this. \"... We will deliberate and decide your fate\"\n\n\"no, you have already decided\" the young man turned his back to the king and began to walk back to his seat.\n\nSome time passed in nervous silence, the venom, the hate and sorrow was thick in the air. The young man looked at his family and smiled, no matter what happens, he will protect them. Even if it is treason.\n\nThe king and his council entered the room causing all to stand apart from the young man. The man looked to the corner of the room where the queen sat, nervously awaiting the verdict. Upon making eye contact she quickly looked down in shame. Queen Sally Alicia Acorn had barely been able to contain her sorrow. She wished that this would end, that they could all be a family again. But this was wishful thinking, those days were long gone. She wanted to help him, but he was clear, he didn't need her help.\n\nA single councilman stood and sadly began to read the verdict written before him on a parchment in his hands, the walrus looked at his former friend and began. \"Miles Prower, by verdict of the crown and of this council, you...\" Rotor wanted to be the one to read it, he hoped it would make it somewhat less severe than if Sonic read it aloud. But it was hard. He was his friend, in a sense they were, or used to be family. But what has to be done has to be done. \"You are found guilty of high treason towards this kingdom!\" Mina shot up, startling her children \"you can't the...\"\n\n\"NO!\" Tails silenced her, he looked at his wife sadly \"it's over...\" Mina looked at her husband, tears streaming from her eyes.\n\nRotor continued, \"your actions have endangered this kingdom and it's people. Your punishment has been decided.\" Rotor took off his glasses to wipe a tear from his eye. \"normally the price for high treason is death, however\" Rotor sat in his chair to relieve his bad back. \"due to your services to this kingdom and it's people you will be shown mercy. Miles Prower, you are to be exiled from this kingdom, as is your family. Your company forbidden from trading within our borders and your name dishonoured.\" \n\nMina felt a great deal of relief, like a great weight had been lifted from her. Tails too felt relieved, he would not have allowed them to kill him of course, he had already planned an escape, but he knew that would have made it worse for his family. It would have also meant he would have had to hurt those he cares about.\n\nSally too and many others felt relieved, she knew that her husband would never have sentenced him to death. She knew that he still cared for him. Her thoughts were cut short as her husband stood up.\n\n\"Miles Prower, your crimes have brought shame upon your family's name, as such I... Your family's title is to be stripped and removed from the records of this kingdom for the poison your reputation has created! Further more, due to your criminal standing, and per the right authority of this court and for their protection your children are to be taken into the care of this kingdom!\" Tails eyes widened, the whole court gasped at this turn of events. Sally stood up to address her husband.\n\n\"Sonic! That's no...\" She was cut short by a sharp glare from her husband. Tails had kept his cool until now, but this was the final straw.\n\n\"You cannot do that!\" Tails shouted in defiance, \"they are my children, that is my mother and fathers legacy, not mine you are removing! You will not take them!\" Tails lunged at Sonic in anger. The bears holding the chains attached to him were pulled forwarded, each being dragged by the powerful fox. Tails feet cracked the floor beneath him.\n\n\"Restrain him! \" shouted Antoine D'Coolette, \"remove him and escort him and his family from the kingdom.\"\n\nThe large chains holding the young fox began to buckle, each one snapped as he forced his way forward. Once enough pressure had been relieved the young fox pulled as hard as he could. All of the remaining guards were suddenly pulled forward, before impact Tails leaped into the air allowing them to crash into each other. Tails pulled the chains and broke them from him. \"You will never take them!\" he shouted as he used a chain he had in his hand and lashed at Sonic, the chain wrapped around Sonic's neck and with great strength Tails pulled Sonic from his seat and spun him around and into a pillar. The crowed screamed and panicked as the furious fox began his rampage.\n\n\"get the civilians to safety, all royal guards to me! Take him out!\" Antoine charged at Tails and attempted to slash him with his sword, Tails simply side stepped the attack and clasped his sword in his hand with a bit of pressure Tails snapped the sword. Antoine watched in horror as his fathers sword was broken, Tails grabbed Antoine by the scruff of his shirt and threw him into the councils stands. More royal guards surrounded him, each attempted a coordinated attack, Tails dodged a slash from one guards sword and pulled another into the attack. Tails then used a shard from Antoine's sword and threw it into another guard, Tails was careful not to kill them for he knew his children were still present. Tails then dodged another attack and grabbed a guard by the leg, spinning the guard around as a make shift weapon, knocking the other guards out of the fight.\n\n\"Mina! Take Skye and Melody away from here!\" Tails ordered as he picked a guard up by his throat and tossed him away.\n\n\"what about you?\" She asked as she took her children by their hands.\n\n\"I will be fin...\" His words were cut short by a blur blur which carried him away. Sonic ran at full speed with Tails in his grasp, Tails managed to dig his feet into the ground, both of them came to a halt. Both locked now in each others hold, vying for control.\n\n\"stop this! Your making it worse for yourself!\" Sonic exclaimed, barely able to keep Tails back.\n\n\"worse?\" Tails grimaced \"how much worse could you make it? They are my life, I will die before I loose them, and you will die before you take them!\" He yelled as he pulled Sonic back, Tails rolled onto his back and pulled Sonic onto his feet, with great power he kicked Sonic right through the roof and out of the castle. Tails got back onto his feet and wiped off the dust and debris from the roof. He twirled his tails and used them to propel himself towards the castle grounds.\n\nDespite their best efforts no guard was a match for him, Tails left a trail of beaten and bruised guards. Tails found his family hiding where he had told them in case things went wrong, inside his workshop in the city center. Mina, Skye and Melody hid inside the panic room as a group of soldiers planted some shaped charges on the other side of the door in an attempt to get at them.\n\n\"Mum mum, what do we do? Where's dad?\" Skye asked nervously.\n\n\"it's OK, it's OK\" She reassured him, but truth be told she didn't know where he was or what to do. She was not left wondering for long as they heard the yell of the soldiers and the crashing sounds of someone fighting on the other side of the door. It was brief and soon it was quite. Mina prepared to fight as she could hear someone imputing the code to the door on the other side. The door slid open and Tails walked through. Mina felt a wave of relief to see her husband. Both Skye and Melody ran and embraced their father.\n\n\"is everyone OK?\" Tails asked as he hugged his children.\n \n\"Yes, what do we do know?\"\n\n\"let's get to the hanger, I activated a force field to protect us for now but I'm not sure how long it will keep them out.\" Tails took his children by their hands and led them to the hanger. Tails pulled a grey sheet off a large object to reveal his old plane the Tornado. \"come on, get in and buckle up.\" Tails lifted Skye into one of the passenger seats. \"Melody help your brother\"\n\n\"ye yea sure\" Melody got up and helped buckle her brother in while her father helped Mina. Tears were streaming from her eyes, all of her dreams had gone up in flames. All she wanted was to be a Freedom Fighter, now she was an outlaw.\n\nTails, helped his wife up a step ladder onto the plane. He was careful as he didn't want anything to happen to their unborn child. Mina was now seven months into pregnancy, she wanted to raise the new child in a peaceful and happy environment, but now it was all unravelling.\n\nAfter helping his wife he hopped into the pilots seat and started the engines. There was no time for pre flight checks. After inputting a few numbers into the Tornado's on board computer the hanger doors opened. \"OK, hold on!\" Tails pushed the throttle and left the hanger, he began to build up speed on the run way.\n\nOutside of the field that protected the workshop Sonic and a small army were attempting to find a way in. \"sir look!\" A guard pointed out the Tornado leaving the hanger, Sonic knew he had to stop him now.\n\nSonic looked at the force field and did the only thing he could think of. Sonic went into a spin dash and collided with the barrier, blue sparks emitted from the barrier as it began to weaken. Sonic used all of his power into bringing down the force field. The shield began to bend as Sonic forced his way through. With no warning the field gave way. The pressure caused Sonic to explode out and towards the Tornado, he had made a mistake, he couldn't stop. It all seemed to happen in slow motion, Tails looked to the side and could see Sonic speeding towards them. It was too late to turn the plane. Then they collided.\n\nSally, only arrived in time to see Sonic impact the plane. She screamed in terror as the plane exploded and rolled over. Nearby soldiers ran for cover as debris rained down upon them. Sally didn't care she attempted to run over to them. A firm hand grabbed her waist, and held her back. \"No! Don't it's to dangerous!\" Knuckles yelled as he held her back. He would have been surprised at how much she was pulling him if he himself was not so shocked at what was happening.\n\nThe flames from the plane lit the night sky like a fiery sunset. Under the debris of the plane came movement. Tails forced off the wing that was laying on him. He was dazed and confused, the heat of the crash and crying of his son brought him back. Tails got up onto his feet, blood dripping from his head. He found his son under the plane, he was up side down still in his seat, his head just touching the tarmac. Tails ripped the door from the remains of the plane and helped his son \"Get, get away from here Skye...\"\n\n\"Dad, who.. where's mum, I want mum...\" Tails cut him short and threw him into a nearby bush as flames engulfed the area around them. Tails leaped out of the fire and patted out the flames on his arm and threw off his now burning scarf. Tails checked and saw that Skye was OK, now he had to find Melody and Mina.\n\n\"Dad! Daddy!\" Tails heard Melody crying out. It was hard to see due to the smoke and flames.\n\n\"Melody, where are you!?\"\n\n\"Over here! I'm with mum!\" Tails noticed a pair of hands waving on the opposite side of the plane some distance away from the wreck. Tails leaped over and rushed towards them. His heart sank as he saw his daughter kneeling next to her mothers bloodied unmoving body.\n\nTails knelt down and looked over his wife, she was still breathing but barely. Tails heart broke as he noticed a large piece of shrapnel embedded in her stomach. \"T.. Tails... I\"\n\n\"No, don't talk!\" Tails began to try and stem the bleeding with his hands. \n\n\"The baby, something's wrong... Is she OK?\" Tails knew she was not. Tears welled in his eyes, Melody was crying loudly. Skye came limping over and knelt next to his mother.\n\n\"mummy! Please don't die!\" Skye sobbed.\n\nTails was about to go get help, but was taken by surprise as a warp ring opened next to him. From the ring came a team of armed Horizon troops and paramedics. \"who, what?\" asked Tails to himself. From the portal came a curvy figure who knelt down next to him, she looked at Mina and then Tails.\n\n\"We must leave now!\" The female Mobian said in a electronic yet attractive voice.\n\n\"Not without my wife!\" Tails replied angrily.\n\n\"Sir, her injury's are severe we should focus on your Chil...*gasp*\" she was cut short as Tails grabbed her throat and pulled her face to his.\n\n\"Do as I command!\" he bitterly told her in anger and desperation.\n\n\"I, y... Yes sir!\" the now scared female replied. The paramedics managed to stem the bleeding and put her on a stretcher. Melody took her brothers hand and pulled him through the portal. As Tails was about to step through the portal he noticed a figure crawling from the wreckage, his blood began to boil.\n\n\"Make sure they are safe, if she dies... Then so will you!\" Tails said to the woman in black in a bitter voice.\n\n\"y... Yes of course!\" She said, knowing that what he said was a promise.\n\n\"Keep the portal open, I have something I have to do.\"\n\nSonic crawled out from the wreckage and coughed to clear his lungs from all the smoke. As he made his way to his feet a strong hand grabbed his throat and lifted him into the air. \"what have you done?\" Tails said bitterly. \"What have you done!!?\" he shouted as he slammed Sonic into the ground, tears streaming from his eyes. \"you son of a bitch!\" He exclaimed as he stomped onto Sonic's chest, blood escaping Sonic's mouth as cried out. \"You take my family's honour!\" Tails kicked Sonic in the chest as Sonic attempts to get up. \"you try to take Skye and Melody!\" He grabs Sonic again and lifts the weakened hedgehog above him. \"You take my daughter!!\" Tails then slams Sonic's back down on his knee, Sonic cries out as his spine is shattered.\n\nSonic's cries of pain fill the night air, Sally and Knuckles now aware that not only is Sonic alive but in danger decide to forsake personal safety to help their king in this dire hour. Sally tears off the bottom of her dress so she can run and dashes towards to wreck.\n\nSonic attempts to crawl to his feet but simply can't get his feet to work. Tails kneels down and grabs the back of Sonic's head and lifts it up. Sonic and Tails see Sally and Knuckles running through the smoke, Sally's eyes widen to see Tails next to the beaten Sonic. Tails lifts Sonic's head closer and snarls \"but what you have taken from me I will take from you ten thousand times over!\" Tails slams Sonic's head down. Knuckled leaps into the air and prepares a punch filled with rage just for Tails. But it was not to be, Tails quickly grabs the wing of the downed plain and with a quick spin slams it into Knuckles. Tails could see more figures running through the smoke, including Bunnie Decollete, Amy Rose and Antoine Decollete.\n\nTails decided it was best to retreat, he was already injured and he was desperate to check his family. Tails turned and ran for the open warp ring, before entering he looked back at Sally. Tails narrowed his eyes at someone who he considered to once be his family, Tails then stepped through the portal just as it closes.\n\n-\n--\n---\n--\n-\n\nTails eyes shot open as he springs up in his bed in a cold sweat. It was just a dream? No, that would have been to perfect. It was a memory. Memories of two years ago. Tails calmed his breathing and looked at his wife to reassure him. He gently stroked her hair as he observed her. He was lucky, he had almost lost her. Tails leaned over and planted a kiss on her cheek. Tails decided to get a drink to calm him down. Lowering his feet to the floor Tails puts on his slippers, as he gets up he notices the little pair of baby shoes on the shelf. Tails picks them up and looks at them sadly, Mina had been so excited, so had Melody and Skye. A life snuffed out before it could even really live. A sudden wave of anger swept over Tails, he had to control it. Tails came to his senses after noticing that hew was crushing the little shoes, he fixed them and put them back on the shelf. Tails looked back at his wife, they wanted another child, but that door was now closed to them.\n\nTails carefully opened his door and proceeded down the hallway, careful to avoid the moving boxes scattered around. He was happy to finally to get the deed to the island, it had been tough going and there was still much to do, but maybe they could find some peace and privacy at last.\n\nAfter finishing his water Tails sat down on his couch. He began to think about that day, as well as the days leading up to that. He got careless, he left to much out in the open. He should have expected Sonic and others to notice the sudden and massive increase in profits. But he needed the money, his family came first. Truth is, he had been trading in arms and armour before Melody was born. He was scared, he was about to be a father and he made a drastic choice. He didn't regret the choice, they did well by it. But maybe there were things he could had done differently?\n\nTails held his head in his hands, he was tired, but he didn't want to dream anymore.\n\n\"hunny? are you OK?\" Mina came down the stairs and sat down next to her husband.\n\n\"Yea, I'm fine.\" Tails smiled at he wife and kissed her gently. They sat in comfortable silence for awhile. They had been together long enough that not much had to be said for them to understand what each one is thinking. Mina decided to break the silence.\n\n\"You could have at least put her shoes back properly\" Tails ears pricked up as he looked into his wife's kind eyes.\n\n\"I'm... sorry.\"\n\nAfter a few moments of silence Mina continued \"I've always told you, it's not your fault.\" Mina gently took hold of his hand, to this Tails felt soothed.\n\n\"I just, wish there was things I could have done differently. Maybe, there was something I could have done to save her.\"\n\n\"There was nothing anyone could do.\" Tails knew her words were true, there was no saving her. But maybe if he had been quicker. But that seems to be where he and Sonic differ, he was never fast enough.\n\n \"Come back to bed, let me take your mind off of it.\" Mina placed her hand on his cheek and brought him into a kiss.\n\n\"I could use a distraction, guess we could. But what about the kids?\"\n\n\"Guess we will just have to be careful\" she said as she climbed the stairs, her curves moving side to side. Tails smiled and followed.\n\nHe and Mina had been married for many years, yet her beauty never seemed to fade. When he was younger he never imagined that his wife would be the talented songoose. Tails and Mina started dating after dealing with her former boyfriend. Soon after their first time together Mina became pregnant with Melody. Tails had to provide for them and the money he was making from his workshop was just not enough. Before then he had many offers from different agencies and groups requesting his services. But those requests were not for planes or machines but for his skills with weapons. As the money got tighter, those offers became more appetizing. But it was the start of a steep decline. As he began to get more jobs he needed to take in more staff as such he had to take in even more jobs. So he founded Horizon Technology. On the face it was a computer company, it was but it also worked on other projects. Soon Tails found that the company was growing more than he could have ever expected. The company began to expand into different areas such as, retail, media, food, medicine and of course defence. It was never a huge company but after his exile and escape to Central Square Horizon was contracted by G.U.N to supply and design armour and weapons. In one day Horizon was a multi-billion dollar company. The new HQ was still under construction and only the more basic designs had been completed but G.U.N seemed to understand that until the HQ and manufacturing facilities were complete the more advanced stuff would have to wait.\n\nTails climbed onto his bed a watched as his wife closed the door to their en-suite bathroom. As always he went to reach for a condom but remembered this was pointless. Most men would enjoy the idea of no condom, but it only reminded both Tails and Mina of what they cannot have.\n\nMina walked out in her lingerie, her massive breasts were barely contained in her bra. No one really knew why but shortly after Tails and Mina started dating Mina experienced and massive growth spurt of epic proportions.
