In their arms they each held a box full of various sentimental belongings. Mostly photos and drawings over the past few years. The two sisters watched and waited as the number on the display ticked down, taking them below the living space, past their dad’s offices and labs before finally reaching the very bottom of the tall mountainside facility. The elevator came to a stop and it took a second to scan the inside before unlocking. \n\nThe gilded doors opened and the twin sisters quickly stepped out into the huge, marble covered foyer. Their dull claws clicked against the cold floor as they crossed the large space. As they got close to the front desk, a hulking canine girl sitting behind it suddenly stood up. She gave them a salute before relaxing.\n\n\t“Kinder, the car has just arrived. You will be leaving us now?”\n\tThe girl said with an accent almost as thick as her arms. \n\n\t“Yes, it has been a pleasure, Mrs Armesta…” Ruby spoke.\n\t“We wish you the best.” Rubi continued. \n\n\t“A pleasure, yes. Most polite kinder, we will… miss you.” \n\tShe spoke with a flicker of sadness in her eyes.\n\n\t“You’ve made our stay most comfortable.” Rubi said. \n\t“Excellent room service, and such interesting stories.” Ruby added. \n\t“We will make sure to write once we have settled in Pardon.” Rubi said. \n\n\t“Such kindness is truly beautiful to witness. Now go, don’t be late.”\n\tArmesta said as she turned a gloved finger to the front door. \n\nThe twins gave her a polite nod in unison before heeding her words and moving along. Thick glass doors slid open automatically as they approached the entrance and with it came a stiff, cold breeze. They braced against the cold and stepped out onto the frozen stone landing outside. \n\nTogether they quickly but carefully hopped down the cold stone stairs and made their way over to a small limo that was waiting for them, the door opened by the driver who was waiting nearby.\n\n\t“Thank you, Ford.” Ruby said as she stepped inside. \n\t“We will be taking a nap soon, please wake us if anything arises.” \nRubi spoke before following her sister into the car. \n\n\t“Understood Madam.” Ford said before closing the door. \n\nThe limo was small by design and while it could only comfortably seat four adults, it proved to be quite spacious for just the two young girls. It had been their home away from home in fact for their time spent in the mountains and had always been a quiet, warm, and comfortable place for them to have some time alone.\n\nThe twins packed their boxes into a storage area under one of the seats before sitting down on the plush cushions. With the heat of the car already soaking into them, they both let out a small yawn. At once they both turned their eyes to each other. A smile grew across their feathery features and they leaned in to nuzzle each other’s beaks for a moment before pulling away.\n\n\t“Shall I get us the comforter?” Rubi asked.\n\t“You may, and I’ll get the media.” Ruby replied. \n\nRubi playfully pushed her sister backwards onto the comfortable leather seats. As Ruby lay giggling her sister crawled on top and then over her. Ruby turned her eyes upwards and watched as her sister slowly crawled down the long row of seats. Clicking her beak, she turned herself around and watched from a low angle as Rubi’s tail bounced back and forth in the bright blue lights. After enjoying the view for just a moment she plucked her phone from a hidden dress pocket and began to focus on the task ahead. Using an app that controlled everything in the limo, she dimmed the lights and turned on the widescreen TV hanging on the right side of the cabin. Ruby then flicked through a few channels before switching over to a video playlist of a fireplace crackling while ambient music drifted in the background. \n\nAcross the limo, Rubi had pulled out a huge blanket from the far seating’s storage area. She unfurled it and gave it a shake to air it out before throwing it along the row of seats. Rubi then plucked out a long and well worn pillow. She gazed down to her sister on the other end of the seats who was watching her. Their hands and knees were in the same position while their expressions both had a gentle tiredness framing their eyes. Rubi tossed the pillow into the middle of the blanket and then ducked under her side, just as Ruby did the same on hers. \n\nThe two crawled along the heavy, cosy, fabric until they found each other in the darkness. They rubbed their beaks together and embraced each other tightly. Sweaty hands grasped against fluffy breasts and petite buttocks as they tumbled around and squeezed each other. With the blankets soaked in the smell of frisky preteen crow girls, they popped their heads out and laid them down on the long pillow. \n\nThey held each other closely. The soft music and warm ambience working well with the heavy, hot, blankets to make them feel even more tired. They continued to stare at each other, red eyes reflected in red eyes, as they slowly drifted away into a comfortable dreamland. \n\nWithin their dreamscape one of the sisters stood staring at a landscape of silver in quiet contemplation. Across this vast mirrored wasteland there were other reflections, thousands of them. All silver and red. All black and white. She paid them no mind however and began to walk across the mirrored landscape. Each reflection was slightly different than the other, some taller, some shorter, some twisted in ways that were grotesque and ugly. She gave them all only the briefest of glances as she continued on her way towards a red sun that never seemed to set. \n\nAfter passing by countless reflections of all designs, some wildly different, and many identical to herself, the young girl stopped suddenly. She gazed down at the reflection at her feet, and the mirrored girl within gazed right back. Reaching down, her fingers brushed against the silver surface of the floor and all at once the landscape shifted. The reflections vanished and the once solid land turned liquid. Like rolling ocean waves suddenly unfrozen in the midst of a storm, the young girl was overtaken by the currents and dragged down deep into the black depths below. \n\nBut this was not her end. Gold lightning struck the waves and the silver rolled and boiled violently before parting and being pushed away in all directions. Far below, standing upon the black sands of the ocean bottom there were not two young girls but one. Tall and radiant she stood mature and strong. This whole girl born from two pieces was greater than the sum of her parts. With every thought, with every breath, she commanded the world itself to bend to her desires. And the world listened.\n\nWith a single step forward she travelled across the chromatic world. The silver ocean was made quiet and peaceful. The emerald forests were fixed and made radiant once more. The sapphire mountains brought together so that they could sing in harmony once more. By the 10th step she had gone all the way across the globe and now, she found herself standing on the still waters of the silver ocean. So peaceful were the currents that the whole ocean sprawled out in front of her like the greatest of mirrors. \n\nWith nothing left of her to do she turned her eyes upwards. Past the ever setting ruby sunset and to the deep and mysterious purple sky beyond. She reached out to it, but it did not listen to her desires. She grasped her hand and commanded the velvet beyond to come but it refused. It stood in defiance to her grandeur and so she stood one step further. \n\nThe Rubies awoke. They sat up feeling wide awake but also quite parched and hot. After letting out a small yawn they turned their eyes to different directions. Rubi threw off the blanket and scooted along to the candy mini-bar while Ruby went the other direction towards the intercom. As one poured crushed ice into a small crystal glass the other called the driver from his separate cabin. \n\n\t“Are we close to arriving?” Ruby asked.\n\n\t“Apologies, there was heavier snow than expected. We should arrive in 30 minutes.”\n\n\t“Understood. Thank you for the smooth ride.” Ruby chirped. \n\nRuby let go of the button and stretched her arms out before sitting herself back against the plush seats. Looking over to her sister, she clicked her beak in excitement as Rubi approached. She knelt over her sister, and sat herself down gently on Ruby’s lap. The pair gazed at each other. Rubi stirred the glass of sparkling water and fruit with her finger playfully, while Ruby slid her hands along her sister’s legs. It was a favourite of theirs. A sweet cocktail of strawberries from Golia, the finest Alvia oranges from the local farms, and filled high with sparkling mineral water.\n\nRubi took a piece of the fruit from the icy water and offered it to her sister. In turn Ruby opened her mouth and closed her eyes, her head tilting to the side cutely. Rubi placed it in her mouth and smiled as Ruby licked the tips of her fingers in turn. \n\n\t“Do you think Daddy has any other surprises for us?” Rubi asked. \n\t“Mmm, like a welcoming party for us?” Ruby replied. \n\t“Or a cute little boy to show us around the town?” Rubi said. \n\nThe pair let out a giggle together as Ruby plucked a piece of fruit from the water. Once they had stopped snickering Ruby placed it into Rubi’s mouth, just as she had done for herself. \n\n\t“I doubt he would be quite so forward.” Ruby remarked. \n\t“True, but putting fatherly surprises aside. It would be nice to be able to see the sights at our own pace. That old house does have more rooms than I can even remember.” Rubi replied.\n\t“Oh, that house. As they played with each other’s tongues, Ruby’s hands had slipped up her sisters legs to hold her soft hips. The twins gave her a polite nod in unison before heeding her words and moving along. Thick glass doors slid open automatically as they approached the entrance and with it came a stiff, cold breeze. They braced against the cold and stepped out onto the frozen stone landing outside.

Together they quickly but carefully hopped down the cold stone stairs and made their way over to a small limo that was waiting for them, the door opened by the driver who was waiting nearby.

It had been their home away from home in fact for their time spent in the mountains and had always been a quiet, warm, and comfortable place for them to have some time alone.

The twins packed their boxes into a storage area under one of the seats before sitting down on the plush cushions. With the heat of the car already soaking into them, they both let out a small yawn. At once they both turned their eyes to each other. A smile grew across their feathery features and they leaned in to nuzzle each other’s beaks for a moment before pulling away.

\t“Shall I get us the comforter?” Rubi asked.
\t“You may, and I’ll get the media.” Ruby replied.

Rubi playfully pushed her sister backwards onto the comfortable leather seats. As Ruby lay giggling her sister crawled on top and then over her. Ruby turned her eyes upwards and watched as her sister slowly crawled down the long row of seats. Clicking her beak, she turned herself around and watched from a low angle as Rubi’s tail bounced back and forth in the bright blue lights. After enjoying the view for just a moment she plucked her phone from a hidden dress pocket and began to focus on the task ahead. Using an app that controlled everything in the limo, she dimmed the lights and turned on the widescreen TV hanging on the right side of the cabin. Ruby then flicked through a few channels before switching over to a video playlist of a fireplace crackling while ambient music drifted in the background.

Across the limo, Rubi had pulled out a huge blanket from the far seating’s storage area. She unfurled it and gave it a shake to air it out before throwing it along the row of seats. Rubi then plucked out a long and well worn pillow. She gazed down to her sister on the other end of the seats who was watching her. Their hands and knees were in the same position while their expressions both had a gentle tiredness framing their eyes. Rubi tossed the pillow into the middle of the blanket and then ducked under her side, just as Ruby did the same on hers.

The two crawled along the heavy, cosy, fabric until they found each other in the darkness. They rubbed their beaks together and embraced each other tightly. Sweaty hands grasped against fluffy breasts and petite buttocks as they tumbled around and squeezed each other. With the blankets soaked in the smell of frisky preteen crow girls, they popped their heads out and laid them down on the long pillow.

They held each other closely. The soft music and warm ambience working well with the heavy, hot, blankets to make them feel even more tired. They continued to stare at each other, red eyes reflected in red eyes, as they slowly drifted away into a comfortable dreamland.

Within their dreamscape one of the sisters stood staring at a landscape of silver in quiet contemplation. Across this vast mirrored wasteland there were other reflections, thousands of them. All silver and red. All black and white. She paid them no mind however and began to walk across the mirrored landscape. Each reflection was slightly different than the other, some taller, some shorter, some twisted in ways that were grotesque and ugly. She gave them all only the briefest of glances as she continued on her way towards a red sun that never seemed to set.

After passing by countless reflections of all designs, some wildly different, and many identical to herself, the young girl stopped suddenly. She gazed down at the reflection at her feet, and the mirrored girl within gazed right back. Reaching down, her fingers brushed against the silver surface of the floor and all at once the landscape shifted. The reflections vanished and the once solid land turned liquid. Like rolling ocean waves suddenly unfrozen in the midst of a storm, the young girl was overtaken by the currents and dragged down deep into the black depths below.

But this was not her end. Gold lightning struck the waves and the silver rolled and boiled violently before parting and being pushed away in all directions. Far below, standing upon the black sands of the ocean bottom there were not two young girls but one. Tall and radiant she stood mature and strong. This whole girl born from two pieces was greater than the sum of her parts. With every thought, with every breath, she commanded the world itself to bend to her desires. And the world listened.

With a single step forward she travelled across the chromatic world. The silver ocean was made quiet and peaceful. The emerald forests were fixed and made radiant once more. The sapphire mountains brought together so that they could sing in harmony once more. By the 10th step she had gone all the way across the globe and now, she found herself standing on the still waters of the silver ocean. So peaceful were the currents that the whole ocean sprawled out in front of her like the greatest of mirrors.

With nothing left of her to do she turned her eyes upwards. Past the ever setting ruby sunset and to the deep and mysterious purple sky beyond. She reached out to it, but it did not listen to her desires. She grasped her hand and commanded the velvet beyond to come but it refused. It stood in defiance to her grandeur and so she stood one step further.

The Rubies awoke. They sat up feeling wide awake but also quite parched and hot. After letting out a small yawn they turned their eyes to different directions. Rubi threw off the blanket and scooted along to the candy mini-bar while Ruby went the other direction towards the intercom. As one poured crushed ice into a small crystal glass the other called the driver from his separate cabin.

\t“Are we close to arriving?” Ruby asked.

\t“Apologies, there was heavier snow than expected. We should arrive in 30 minutes.”

\t“Understood. Thank you for the smooth ride.” Ruby chirped.

Ruby let go of the button and stretched her arms out before sitting herself back against the plush seats. Looking over to her sister, she clicked her beak in excitement as Rubi approached. She knelt over her sister, and sat herself down gently on Ruby’s lap. The pair gazed at each other. Rubi stirred the glass of sparkling water and fruit with her finger playfully, while Ruby slid her hands along her sister’s legs. It was a favourite of theirs. A sweet cocktail of strawberries from Golia, the finest Alvia oranges from the local farms, and filled high with sparkling mineral water.

Rubi took a piece of the fruit from the icy water and offered it to her sister. In turn Ruby opened her mouth and closed her eyes, her head tilting to the side cutely. Rubi placed it in her mouth and smiled as Ruby licked the tips of her fingers in turn.
