"writing": "[t]Mechanics[/t]\n\nSpatium Sperma is a complicated world.\n\nBased on a different dimension altogether, a space between spaces for the creature known as the `Predator' to live, and subject to the massive monster's rules, things do not always make sense to the human mind. A scientific brain could study and try to comprehend it, but that usually ends... poorly...\n\nOr permanently.\n\nWhen something is called an `Eldritch Horror', and you are told this was done with purpose, not ON purpose, you should heed the clear warning in those words.\n\nConsidering that humanity is still full of humans, but many of them don't look the part, and even those that appear perfectly normal are, in fact, not what a human would consider HUMAN at all (as that `perfectly normal human' is in fact an anthropomorphic cell), it is easy to see why. The basic rules of what is what and how things work can easily be flipped in a second, sometimes literally as the `Predator' can emulate the most advanced technologies humans ever created with small, temporary organs it can create and reabsorb at will within seconds.\n\nTrying to comprehend the chaos that only the `Predator' is capable of manipulating is, while not impossible, very complicated. Functionally speaking, everything can be explained mathematically in one way or another. In layman terms? It is much simpler to face this reality like a videogame.\n\nFar from perfect, but it works.\n\nTo see things as a `videogame' is not exactly a voluntary thing in all respects. While it makes it somewhat easier for a human mind to understand what is going on and how it works, in reality this vision is more or less exactly what is going on.\n\nDying, revival, rebirth and reproduction all are percentages.\n\nDie a couple of times in a short while and it is not all that important. Die constantly, suffer great pain and you may end up `dying for real', or simply losing your mind and being stored away by the `Predator' until you can be `yourself' again. The more pain, the more death, the higher the chances of your mind to snap. Professionals even have programs to track how likely it is for you to get what some would call a `Game Over'. Free credits guaranteed so you can come back of course, but the question then is `after how long?'.\n\nRebirth? Now that is another little game. After being absorbed and then used as reproduction material, the chances are roughly 50%/50% between each parent cell's species. And when it comes to simple birth? Roughly 70% human, 14% each parent's species (if human, the % is added to the human pool) and 2% a random subspecies of Cell. This is the same without exception, unless certain modifiers apply.\n\nAnd if you think this shouldn't be this way, relax... Because it gets worse.\n\nFirst we get the currency of Spatium Sperma: STRANDS.\n\nA highly energetic, crystalized resource generated by the `Predator', these Strands are bead shaped orbs of various sizes with an absurd level of energy within. This energy can do anything from helping create materials, food, or altering bodies! Considering you can find them everywhere, and how useful they can be, they are used as currency.\n\nThey are highly coveted by everything, though, and Strands are one of the primary targets of any invasive virus and bacteria. With enough of them they can inject the energy into their bodies to either multiplicate and slowly create a hive, or mutate into more powerful forms as they use the genetic material inside the Strands to acquire more capabilities. Similarly, humans too can use these Strands to modify themselves thanks to certain particularities.\n\nOne of these particularities, well, many of these, are the Attributes.\n\nEvery Human Cell's body is divided into seven different Attributes (Constitution, Strength, Agility, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma and Luck). Not EXACTLY what they are and how they work, as there are various biological effects at play like pheromones or direct connection with the `Predator' for some things (`Wisdom', or knowledge of certain things you aren't supposed to know, partly refers to directly tapping into the `Predator's' mind, for example). Naming them just `Attributes' and making sure people don't ask too many questions has proven to be much better for everyone's sanity.\n\nMoving along, these attributes are further broken down into four types, these being `Inborn', `Built', `Symbiotic' and `Mutations'. Both Inborn and Built Attributes have direct relations to the main seven, while the Symbiotic Attributes and the Mutations may modify or base their effects on certain things.\n\nInborn, or `Natural' Attributes.\n\nQualities of the Human Cells that are completely of the `Predator's' creation. They determine most natural capabilities and can be altered relatively freely so long as you have the energy for it. Meaning? You can make yourself stronger inside a Cloning Center by literally paying. Not so different from the genetic clinics from the time before the `Predator', but the capabilities one can end up acquiring are either super human or beyond that, if you wish to put in the effort to get them.\n\nBuilt, or `Crafted' Attributes.\n\nUnlike more `natural' Attributes, a Built Attribute requires either pieces of dead, natural cells, or materials made by humanity and that can be replicated and inert instead of being living things or part of the `Predator'. One such Attribute are the `Health Pods'; nanobot containing pods that could once heal people from grievous wounds, they now can even heal things that would kill you! And you can end up carrying a lot of them inside of your body! Of course the prospect of putting even more things inside of your body is not appealing to many, not like just further modifying it to be more powerful, but the option is there.\n\nSymbiotic, or the `Living' Attributes.\n\nMost equipment, armor and weapons, as well as items inside Spatium Sperma are... questionably alive. They are mostly created by using living material and making it inert, but combat capable. Use them enough and they just may become alive, but act passively like plants in most cases. These attributes generally focus on shields, armor, damage and so on, and usually can be `grown' through materials, energy or just feeding them in some cases.\n\nMutations:\n\nNot... strictly attributes. Mutations are genetic alterations pushed into a Human Cell's body for various effects. Some may change certain limits, others may alter appearances, like, for example... Remember the idea of acquiring a horse shaft instead of, say, a normal human one? Crystalized DNA would create a Mutation for that specific purpose. Beyond cosmetic changes, Mutations may also alter the limit for Attributes (both up and down), lessen the effect of certain negative elements, make them more dangerous, aiding the holder of the Mutation with new abilities or hinder them! As you can see, not all mutations are good, as not every bit of DNA is positive, with some being parasitic! But all Mutations can be used for something, or even recycled to make other Mutations. This is the less common of the Attributes because most regular people will never suffer a Mutation, unless they really seek for something specific.\n\nThere are ways to explain most of these supposed `Attributes' in simpler terms but... most people don't seem to take it too well. The fact that none of them really have to do with a human's natural abilities drives the knife deeper, as if everything else was any more subtle.\n\nIt probably doesn't help that even combat is viewed as a `video gamey' encounter. Considering how almost all creatures have defense mechanism that many would just define as `invincibility frames' among others, it is not exactly abnormal to just roll with the punches and decide that, yes, defining this like you would a videogame is probably much less taxing to the mind than facing the truth head on.\n\nBut it is still a complex task.\n\nAs such, to aid those curious aboutSpatium Sperma and that wish to know more than the inborn information they wake up with as soon as they are welcome into the world, there are many books and visual aids to guide them through these topics. True that many of them are rather superficial considering the complexity of the topics within, but they are more than sufficient and are sure to not harm the mind of those reading.\n\nHopefully.\n\nThese lessons start with Death, Revival, Rebirth and Reproduction: A guide of what to expect when you finally croak in any way, shape or form, what awaits you during absorption and subsequent reappearance, as well as simple and regular sexual multiplication.\n\nAfter that lesson comes the Strands - It is important to know about both your money AND energy all in one. Strands have many abilities and offer many possibilities, making them a vital part of Spatium Sperma.\n\nAttributes come next, and this is a HUGE section. From how to `level', the differences when leveling Inborn and Built Attributes, how to go past the natural limits imposed by the body you inhabit (YES! You can do that), every single one of the seven types of Attributes and much, much more. Expect many subsections for this one. From what is inside of your body to what may mutate it, a lot will be found within these pages.\n\nCombat, on the other hand, will be relatively simple when it comes to learning about it all. Beyond being aware of certain effects that any body (human or otherwise) can suffer from and a few things that have to do \n\nThere are many things to learn when it comes to Spatium Sperma. Perhaps the Mechanics are one of the most boring in many, many ways, but they are necessary for anyone that wishes to ever venture beyond a World Ship's safest areas... Or just wants to live comfortably within the massive monster holding everyone hostage.\n\nLaws of nature and logic don't always prevail after all, and not everything is as simple as it should be, sadly enough.",
