"description": "As part of writing the comic's story, there's a TON of background information that, while useful to me, is likely to never appear in the story because there's no reason for it. One of these details are the 8 other gladiatorial teams in addition to Teams Scratch and Kickback. I created some very basic data for them (as it was fun at the time), but never got into details. \n\nKnowing that Toughset enjoys character design with lots of artistic freedom, I offered him a chance to do the design-work and he graciously accepted.\n\n[b]Team: THE NIGHTMARE LEAGUE[/b]\nCreator/Owner: Volition Pharmaceutical\n\n[i]Known primarily for the production of medicines and bio-chemical treatments, even Volition Pharmaceutical maintains a presence in the deathmatch arena. Like all chimera, the Nightmare League incorporates alien tissues and organs in their bodies. However, the physical changes made to them are obvious and extreme. Standard conditioning wasn't enough to control them, so cybernetic computers were implanted into their brains as a secondary form of control. Each member of the team was designed to look as frightening and disturbing as possible.
