“Nah, don’t worry,” replied the Grovyle as he examined the map again. “That’s just overexaggerations. Some Pokémon with bad senses of direction go for a wander, and come back out like 4 or 5 days later. We, on the other hand, will be just fine! We’ve got a map, after all.”
The conversation paused, as the Treecko looked around the clearing to see if anything stood out to him at all. The Grovyle, meanwhile, scratched his chin for a moment before turning the map upside-down sheepishly.
“Hey!” The Grovyle looked up sharply at his brother’s voice, but then breathed a sigh of relief. The Treecko wasn’t looking at him. He was looking at… some sort of blue floating light, glowing above the nearby lake. “You think that might be it?” asked the Treecko.
“It’s GOTTA be!” replied the Grovyle, as he grinned. “It’s the only notable thing here!” He walked over to the hovering light, just as it crossed over the shore. He tried to reach out for it, but it moved out of the way, so he pouted.
The Treecko joined him by the blue light, gazing at it curiously. “What do you think it is?”
The Grovyle tried to poke the light again, and it once more moved out of the way. “Hmph. Boring, is what it is. If we came all this way to freeze our butts off watching a little blue light that we can’t even touch, I’m gonna be real annoyed,” the Grovyle huffed, crossing his arms.
The Treecko giggled, but then realized something felt off about that statement. He went over it in his head before realizing what it was: he wasn’t cold at all. He remembered shivering earlier, but right now, by this nice little glowing light, he just felt warm and content. “I think that it’s kinda nice.”
“Yeah, well, you love dumb, pretty stuff like this,” the Grovyle scoffed. “A beautiful blue light like this? You’d want to just stare at it all day, probably.”
“C-can you blame me?” said the Treecko. “You’ve gotta admit, this light looks really nice.” He sat down on the grass, looking up at the light and smiling. The pulsing blues were just so… nice to watch. He really didn’t have another word for it, they were nice.
