It all began with the trumpet sound. Initially, I just played a line on the keyboard the make a melody with the trumpet, no key in mind or anything. The song that ensued from that melody didn't really have any focus, so much like many of my songs starting out, this song remained dormant for quite some time. It wasn't until I started watching YouTube video tutorials on how to use FL Studio that I came back to this song.\n\nThe tutorial was about how to use FL Studio's Sytrus plugin to make a dubstep-sounding growl. A stock plugin is all I had at the time so I tried my best using that plugin until I had a decent sounding sound, though it still wasn't to the level that I wanted it to sound, so again, this song took a backseat to other projects. But, at least I had a strong start and a decent understanding of how to use that plugin, opening up new avenues for me to experiment with sound design. Eventually, I returned to this song with newfound knowledge on how to make an interesting-sounding growl that carried this song to completion.
