I figured I’d share it and, while I’ve alluded to her basic backstory, figured I’d expand a bit for anybody who might be interested(or bored).\n\n\n\nAmber Dust grew up in an extremely rural and remote town, so remote in fact that there weren’t even many Pokemon in the area, so Pokemon were not really a part of her life growing up. This changed when a trainer, who was traveling far in search of new Pokemon(who was also disappointed by finding less and less), happened across the town. Amber had never seen a Pokemon up close and was instantly fascinated and spent hours talking with the man about what it was like in other regions and how Pokemon were an integral part of life elsewhere.\n\nAfter some anxious discussion with her parents, who also grew up without Pokemon, they relented and agreed to let her go and explore the world of Pokemon; provided of course she could somehow get one to keep her safe. Finding the trainer as he was preparing to leave town she explained her situation and begged him to help her get a Pokemon, but there were none around for him to catch for her. As it turned out though, he did have an Abra that he caught on his way out there that he had yet to train much, and so he gave it to her, figuring at the least it could get her out of any trouble she wound up in.\n\nHer parents, still anxious but supportive, pooled what money they could spare and bought her an old clunky laptop(the best they could afford) while the trainer gifted her some additional basic supplies and maps. And so she was off!\n\nTo date she has yet to capture a single Pokemon in the traditional sense of weakening and capturing. Her Abra was of course gifted to her. Her Slowpoke she saw sitting on a rock by a river, and after losing two Pokeballs with her horrible throwing skills into the water, she saw it barely moved. So she walked up to it and dropped the ball on its head and caught it just like that.\n\nThe laptop her parents gifted her turned out to be 100% broken; and she discovered the only reason it worked at all was that inside of it lived a Porygon-Z, which had no problem joining her at that point.\n\nAnd finally her Drowzee(not pictured here)…she doesn’t remember capturing. She remembers encountering it before things went hazy and she fell unconscious. When she woke up her body was sore but there was a Pokeball in front of her with the Drowzee captured inside. In her head she figured an epic battle must have taken place and she had emerged victorious! In reality, Drowzee had easily subdued her and decided to join her for fun and a less-than appropriate attraction to the girl.\n\nAmber is generally a very upbeat, if naive and gullible girl. She knows very little about the nuances of Pokemon and Pokemon training and mostly just explores and sees what’s out there, not caring for trying to “catch ‘em all”. While all of her Pokemon are either psychic or have psychic abilities, it would be logical for somebody to assume she’s a psychic herself, but this is far from the reality. If anything her she’s extremely vulnerable to psychic assaults, to the point she can easily lose her sense of self when around even moderately strong psychic types without them even needing to actively use their abilities. So really it’s beneficial she’s surrounded by her own Pokemon that can help look out for her.\n\nOf course, it’s not just Pokemon that can take advantage of her; less-reputable trainers can use her gullibility to their advantage. She once found an Ultra Ball and asked somebody what it was. They told her it was a knock-off PokeBall, but they collect knock-offs so they’d happily trade for a ‘real’ PokeBall if she wanted, which she foolishly accepted. Then of course the trainer who early on convinced her to blow him in exchange for enough money to afford the Pokemon Centers, something she didn’t know at the time was a free service…\n\n\n\nSo that’s a bit of an infodump on my sona!
