Struggling to break the hold of amnesia as he looked upon the ruined city, he could only strain and reflect on what little he could fathom. With trusted friend and associate Doshin Maru in tow, he found the experience..haunting. Practically all of the forgotten city was a desolate ruin, with glimpses of grandeur still present in what décor and architecture that had survived. The buildings still stood, dark monoliths of a more prosperous era. Asphalt, concrete, and marble lay cracked and fractured, with all manner of weeds and vegetation snaking up from the ground. \nParking the car on the fringe of the city between two small residential buildings, Ichigo and Doshin would set out into the city.\n\nThat was at least seven hours ago. Having lost Doshin midway after being attacked by all manner of demonic beings in the thick of the city streets, Ichigo had managed to maneuver through the underground passage ways and found the Providence institute of progressive science. It was a godsend to have found a brilliant suit of gold among several in the very back of one of the research halls, pristine and in wonderful condition beyond a cover of a glass tube. So called power armor, the immense weight in brass, bronze, steel, leather, rubber, and other materials was displaced through a state of the art system that Ichigo did not fully understand. He had managed to put on the vast majority of the armor, a very time consuming endeavor but ultimately rewarding. Right as he was about to don the helmet to fully encase himself in an armored shell, he heard the sound of glass breaking..and angry cries and yells. Heathens, inbred locale that had the gall and nerve to follow him from the surface to the underground in a conjoined effort to kill him. He knew not who they were, but their outlandish manner of dress and roughshod appearance denoted them to be people living off the land. But they looked so ..wrong, so garish. \n\nHe took off in a wild run, the constant clang of the helmets edge bumping against one armored thigh echoing across the walls of the dilapidated corridor.. and then, the rattling of automatic gun fire. He heard bullets pinging off his newfound armor, ricocheting across the walls and piping. The very real vulnerability of his face had him running off into the darkness, as the flashes of light with every bullet bouncing off his armor. All he needed was a moment of cover, a chance to strap on the helmet before he could take on these animals.. Somehow, though, he felt he knew who they were.
