I managed to escape from the Shokusho once my ship entered Lotsarohk’s atmosphere, though no small measure of luck was involved to accomplish the feat. I had found out too late that it had severely damaged a majority of the ship while it made its way towards the bridge, so much so that nearly every compartment from stern to hull was tearing away piece by piece during re-entry including the wall between the corridor and the department I was in. Devoid of protection from the ship’s walls the Shokushu managed to cover the last distance to get close to get to me, with only the remnants of the bridge protecting us from burning into cinders as the ship fell through the atmosphere. I watched, momentarily petrified with fear as the creature it inched its way towards me whilst fighting against the pull of the vacuum.With my back pressed against the controls with no viable route of escape visible to me just then, the situation looked bleak and I thought I was facing certain doom. And certainly, I would have perished if I hadn’t acted on instinct alone at that crucial moment. My eyes darted down to spot the handle of a hatch that led to the maintenance area situated just beneath the bridge, and I waited until the last moment to duck down, pull open the lever to loosen the hatch, and let vacuum do the rest. The heavy panel was pulled from its seat and slammed into the creature; the force great enough to launch it back into the top of the atmosphere to undergo re-entry once more. Without the protection of the hull, I saw the mass of tentacles ignite into a spectacular fireball. As for myself, I just managed to escape the falling vessel by grabbing the emergency jetpack tucked beneath the pilot seat , strapped myself to it and jumped out while hoping for the best. Thankfully I managed to touch down safely on the planet, though I’m not out of the woods just yet. With my vessel broken into pieces I’ll need to figure out how to escape from Lotsarohks, and in this situation the best I can do is to salvage the essential pieces I need to build an emergency distress beacon to broadcast an SOS signal. Hopefully a passing vessel will pick up the signal and come to my rescue. In the mean time I’ll have to heavily ration the handful of oxy-chew strips I managed to grab prior to the crash. …. Liquorice. Who in the cosmos thought it was a good idea to pick this as a flavour? Blech!\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t | \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

It looks like our heroine survived the harrowing encounter, but she's still in trouble! With her ship in ruins she'll have to find a way to get off the planet and acquire a new vessel but until then she'll have to make the most of what she has. Will she be able to get off the planet before her supplies run out? Stay tuned to find out!
A piece done for me by Pafiiroru, as a follow up to the last picture. I didn't really plan it at first, but it looks like I may plan a mini-arc around Penny's current predicament. And frankly, I look forward to writing out more space logs of what happens from here. :D
