All characters and story belong to Kyell Gold", "writing": "Summer finally arrived marking an end of the semester at Forrester University. Kory had spent the last weeks busy with final exams and was looking forward to a break to spend time with Samaki. Kory also had several informal therapy sessions with Jerry, explaining some of the most intimate details of his life to him, how he fell in love with Samaki, his mother's scorn towards them both, and about his brother Nick and how easily he accepted Kory's life choices, and his fears and insecurities about being gay in a world that does not seem accepting to those lifestyle choices. Kory was pleased with Jerry, he learned that Jerry was bisexual and has a firsthand understanding of the same types of insecurities Kory felt. Jerry was planning on staying at Forrester for a couple more years, earning his PhD in Clinical Psychology and starting a practice to help victims of abuse. They built up a rapport easily and Kory became more comfortable discussing his problems with Jerry, especially when Samaki joined them. \n\nAfter only a couple of times talking things out with Jerry, Kory felt much more at ease, and the panic attacks and nightmares went away, returning Kory to his peaceful state of mind and happier thoughts of time spent with his fox. Samaki was also benefiting from Jerry's help. They were able to get some things out that Samaki didn't even realize were bothering him, giving him a much clearer understanding of his relationship with Kory and how much he truly loved him. Their friendship with Krystal also bloomed, with the trio meeting up for social gatherings, coffee, or just sitting on the couch playing games. It turns out Krystal was a natural at Pac Rat and gave Samaki some real competition.\n\nWith the last exams for the semester now behind them, the time had come to decide how they would spend their summer vacation. While most of the university would be returning home, there were still some classes for students needing make up classes. Kory and Samaki signed up to be mentors to some of these students, but the mentoring program wasn't scheduled to begin for another three weeks, giving them a chance to get some time away. ``We could go to the beach'' Kory said. ``We used to go to the beach every summer. It was fun.'' Samaki nodded ``I've only been to the beach a couple of times, it was always hard to plan with my parent's work schedules. Then there were the costs of going'' Kory nodded, ``how about going camping then? It doesn't cost much to pitch a tent in the woods.'' Samaki snickered ``We can always pitch a tent right here too.'' Kory blushed and laughed with Samaki. ``OK OK, point taken,'' Kory said, ``but there must be something we can do that we can both afford.'' The thought was interrupted by a familiar knock on the door. Kory opened the door and invited Krystal in. ``Hi Krystal, common in.'' \n\nKrystal was practically bouncing on her paws with happiness. ``I have such wonderful news guys, my parents said I can use our family's cabin at the lake this summer since they can't go, and I can invite anyone I want to. I was hoping you guys would be interested in coming with me for a week.'' Kory and Samaki looked at each other and smiled. The idea of sitting by a nice lake appealed to them. Kory would be able to swim anytime he wanted to, and he would have Samaki there with him. ``Wow that sounds great.'' Kory said, ``Are you sure it wouldn't be any trouble?'' Krystal shook her head. ``The cabin is big enough for five comfortably and is secluded enough that the peace and quiet will relax you in no time.'' Kory looked at Samaki ``What do you think hon?'' Samaki grinned, ``I think it'd be great. Can we invite Nick and Malaya too?'' Krystal nodded ``Of course, we can make it a super fun week.'' ``Then it's settled'' Kory said, ``A week at the lake it is.''\n\nKory and Samaki were loading their bags into Krystal's car when Nick and Malaya arrived. ``Perfect timing you guys.'' Said Samaki, as he took their bags and loaded them into the trunk. ``Perfect would be me staying home with the boob tube.'' said Malaya with a grin on her face. ``don't fret Malaya,'' said Kory, ``it'll be there when you get back. It's time to kick back and relax now.'' Malaya snorted, ``I can relax in front of the TV too.'' Kory and Nick both eyerolled and got into the car.\n\nThe four-hour trip was spent with Nick listening to music on his digital player, Samaki taking in the sights on the way, and Malaya and Kory napping in the back seat almost the whole trip. Krystal exited the freeway and turned into a shopping center, parking the car, and waking Malaya and Kory. ``Come on you guys, we have to buy groceries for the week.'' Everyone piled out of the car and Nick grabbed a shopping cart. Shopping took about forty minutes and they had more than enough food to last them the whole week. ``OK guys, only thirty minutes more and we'll be there. I can't wait,'' Everyone smiled and piled back into the car.\n\nThe turn off was barely visible as Krystal veered off the road and into the woods. Kory was wondering if this was even a road, but Krystal assured everyone they were on the right road to the cabin. A short time later Krystal stopped the car and proclaimed, ``we have arrived.'' Everyone looked around but only saw trees and bushes. ``Ummm Krystal?'' said Samaki, ``where are we?'' Krystal looked around and realized why everyone was confused. ``You can't see the cabin from here, it's just a short walk though, about fifty yards.''\n\n Everyone grabbed their bags and carried some groceries and followed Krystal into the woods, not even sure where the path was but they followed the panther closely. It took several minutes to traverse the fifty or so yards through the woods. Suddenly the trees gave way to a clearing, and everyone gasped at the sight. A small cabin rested against the tree line surrounded by some of the most beautiful natural landscaping they had ever seen. Rocks and flowers adorned the site in an inviting manner, beckoning any visitors lucky enough to find this place to venture further towards the cabin. A dark blue lake laid just past the cabin, the water was calm as glass and reflecting the sky on the surface like a mirror. A small but functional dock jutted out from the land, inviting you to seek out the cool water at the end. Krystal smiled broadly at the familiar sight and waved a paw across the tranquil scene. ``Welcome to paradise''\n\nOnce in the cabin, window shutters were opened, covers removed from the furniture, Beds were made, and food put away. It was finally time to relax. Nick eyed the lake from the doorway. ``Can we go for a swim?'' Krystal nodded. ``Feel free to change in there,'' pointing towards the bedroom, ``I'll have to find my swimsuit. Just give me a few minutes.'' Malaya flopped onto the couch, ``There's no TV. Bummer.'' Krystal giggled at the fruit bat. ``We're too far out for any reception anyway. Come on, enjoy the water.'' Malaya snorted ``Get wet on purpose? No way. Besides, I don't own a bathing suit.'' Krystal turned and ducked into the bedroom, returning in a minute, and tossing a swimsuit at Malaya. ``You're about the same size as my sister so this should fit you. Get changed and come relax on the side of the lake if you don't want to swim.'' Malaya looked at the brightly colored swimsuit and grimaced. ``You don't have one in Black I suppose?''\n\nKory and Nick ran headlong across the dock and dove into the water in typical otter fashion, disappearing under the surface of the water and surfacing again in the middle of the lake. Samaki strolled out onto the dock and tested the water with his tail before jumping feet first into the cool water. Krystal and Malaya followed the boys out of the cabin and headed towards the dock. The boys all stopped what they were doing and stared in awe at Malaya, who was wearing a brightly colored one-piece swimsuit which fit her form perfectly. ``Wow Malaya'' said Samaki, I have never seen you in something so colorful before. It suits you very well.'' Kory and Nick nodded in agreement. Malaya pointed her finger at the boys. ``You tell anyone about this, and I'll cut off your tails while you sleep.'' \n\nThe boys giggled and resumed playing in the water as Krystal set up two deck chairs on the dock and invited Malaya to join her. Krystal laid herself in the deck chair and sighed in relief. ``It's been too long since I was here last. I'm really happy it hasn't changed a bit.'' Malaya laid in the deck chair and opened her wings to soak up some sunlight as she looked over at Krystal ``How long has this place been in your family?'' ``As long as I can remember.'' Krystal answered. ``The cabin was built by my great grandfather so the family would have a place to come and relax.'' Malaya looked over at Krystal and inwardly admired how her tawny fur shone in the sunlight. ``She has a really nice body too.'' She thought. Krystal noticed Malaya looking her over and smiled, making Malaya shift her attention to the lake and the otters swimming circles around Samaki. \n\nTime passed slowly and dinner time approached. Krystal yelled over to the boys. ``Do you guys want to have some BBQ for dinner?'' The boys all answered with an enthusiastic thumbs up. ``OK.'' Krystal said, ``I'll get the fire going on the grille.'' Krystal stood and walked into the cabin, grabbed the wire grille from the closet and then walked over to the stone grille beside the cabin, putting the wire in its assigned place on the stones. Nick exited the water and joined Krystal by the grille. ``Can I help?'' he said with a grin and a wag of his tail. ``Sure thing'' Krystal said, ``There should be some firewood next to the cabin and there is a bag of charcoal just inside the door.'' Nick smiled and gathered the wood and charcoal in no time, helped Krystal get the fire started, and followed her inside to help prepare the food. \n\nSamaki and Kory were alone in the lake, nose to nose and taking turns kissing each other. Malaya looked at the couple. ``Can't you two keep it in your pants until later? You're scaring the fish.'' Kory and Samaki laughed and swam over to the dock. Kory swam beside the dock where Malaya was laying in the deck chair and thumped his tail hard in the water, splashing Malaya repeatedly while Samaki laughed. The bat sputtered and coughed at the sudden attack. ``Hey! That's not fair!'' She protested. Samaki proclaimed, ``All is fair in love and otters.'' Malaya stood up and shook herself off, she smiled and flipped Samaki off before heading back to the cabin. Samaki leaned up on the dock on his elbows and laughed. \n\nKory in the meantime was swimming underneath the fox, looking up and smiling. Kory slipped through the water stealthily, closing in on the fox undetected. Kory reached his paws up and grabbed Samaki's swimsuit by the waist and swam downward, taking the garment with him before the fox could even react. Samaki yelped and slipped off the side of the dock, looking around for Kory but seeing no sign of the mischievous otter. Samaki yelled down into the water. ``Give those back you silly otter.'' \n\nSuddenly Kory shot out of the water and up onto the dock, landing on his feet paws, Samaki's swimsuit in his paw. Kory waved it around, taunting the fox. ``Oh my, look at what I found. Whatever will the fox do now?'' Samaki pointed at Kory with a smile on his muzzle. ``You better give those back if you know what's good for you.'' Kory laughed and ran towards the cabin. ``Come and get them if you dare.'' Samaki whined and yelled after the otter, ``Damnit Kory, just you wait!''\n\nKory ran into the house panting and laughing. Nick, Malaya, and Krystal looked at him with a puzzled look on their faces. Kory held up the swimsuit over his head and laughed,'' Poor Samaki. He may be a little late for dinner.'' The trio laughed and Krystal proclaimed, ``You never know when a fox will exact his revenge. I'd be careful Kory.'' The otter laughed holding the swimsuit up like a prize. So long as I have this, I don't think I.... ``Kory's statement was interrupted by a sharp tug on his swimsuit just above his tail. Before the otter could register what was happening, his swimsuit was pooled around his ankles. Kory Squeaked and looked down at his now exposed privates, swinging his tail around to cover himself. Laughter echoed through the cabin as Kory folded his ears back and blushed profusely as a pair of paws came to rest on his shoulders. Samaki leaned down next to his ear. ``Did you really think that being naked would stop me from exacting my revenge?'' \n\nNick laughed and shielded his eyes as the girls' wolf whistled at the naked pair. Kory gave them a sheepish grin still blushing brightly. Samaki pulled his boyfriend into a deep kiss and held him as Kory pressed back into the kiss. Kory panted from the sudden passion from Samaki and smiled at him. Malaya nudged Krystal with her elbow. ``Looks like someone is excited.'' She said with an impish grin. Kory looked over at the bat with a puzzled look on his face then realized they were both staring right at him. The otter looked down and realized his pink cock was fully erect and plainly visible to everyone. Samaki smiled and folded his arms across his chest, still completely naked. ``My oh my, what are we going to do about this I wonder.'' As he grabbed Kory by the paw and led him into the bedroom. The girls giggling and applauding at the pair. \n\nNick uncovered his eyes at the sound of the bedroom door closing and breathed a sigh of relief. ``Uhhhh... Would you guys mind if I made some hamburgers for dinner? After that sight I'm not in the mood for hot dogs.''\n\nKory and Samaki emerged from the bedroom about ten minutes later now fully dressed. ``Wow that was fast you guys. I hope you didn't mess up Nick's bed with your sex.'' Malaya said. Nick squeaked and looked at Kory. ``Please, please, please don't tell me you guys fucked on my bed.'' Samaki smiled at Nick ``OK, we won't tell you.'' Kory giggled as Nick facepalmed and groaned. ``That's it. I'm sleeping on the dock.'' \n\n``What's for dinner?'' Said Samaki. ``Or did Nick eat everything already?'' Kory giggled and faced Samaki. ``Well, he's a growing boy you know.'' Nick smirked at the pair and threw a roll of paper towels at Kory, bouncing them off Kory's head and bopping Samaki on the nose. Kory and Samaki laughed loudly and sat down for a well-deserved meal.\n\nThe group sat down at the table for dinner. Kory led the group in a prayer, everyone said ``amen'' in unison then dug into the meal. It was a simple meal consisting of burgers and hot dogs with some potato salad and cole slaw. Sodas and bottled water were consumed, and bellies were filled. ``Great food Krystal. ``Said Samaki. Krystal smiled ``Nick helped cook too.'' Kory nodded ``Good job Nick, Thanks.'' \n\nOnce the table was cleared and the dishes washed and put away, everyone went out onto the porch and sat down to watch the sun setting over the lake. ``This place is incredible.'' said Kory. Krystal smiled and nodded. ``Yeah, I've always loved coming out here with my family. We have so many wonderful memories that we made here.'' ``Speaking of memories,'' Malaya said playfully. ``We now have memories of Kory and Samaki in the fur to add to them.'' Everyone laughed and Kory blushed all over again. ``I'm really sorry about that, that was all my fault.'' Krystal fuzzled Kory on his head. ``You did nothing to be sorry about Kory. Seeing someone naked doesn't bother me at all.'' ``Yeah, it's nothing we haven't seen before at some point.'' Malaya said. Kory pressed his ears against his head and drooped his tail. ``I don't know. I mean... it's just kind of embarrassing.'' Samaki leaned over and kissed Kory on his cheek. ``You don't need to feel embarrassed hon. We are amongst friends and it's not like anything bad happened.'' Nick agreed. ``Yeah Kory, I can't tell you how many guys I've seen naked in the locker room at swim meets. It's not something that bothers me anymore. Don't worry about it. I'm sure no one feels offended.'' ``Maybe I do.'' Said Malaya with a smile. ``I wasn't expecting a sausage party.'' Everyone laughed. Nick continued. ``Besides, didn't I tell you about the size contest?'' Kory looked at his brother shocked. ``You were in a size contest with other guys?'' Nick nodded ``Yep. I won'' Nick winked his eye and smiled. Kory and Samaki groaned in unison. Krystal laughed a good belly laugh and Malaya pondered what he just said, shaking her head.\n\nThe sun fell from the sky slowly as the five friends sat and chatted amongst each other. Kory and Samaki were cuddled up against each other on the bench, Samaki's tail was wrapped around Kory's, his tail tip twitching softly against Kory's tail tip as the lovers melted into the moment. Malaya closed her eyes and soaked in the cool lake air. Krystal and Nick watched the surroundings and simply enjoyed the scenery and natural beauty. When the sun finally fell below the horizon, Krystal asked, ``Anyone for ice cream and cake?'' Everyone got a broad smile on their faces and followed Krystal inside. \n\nThe group settled in for the night, Nick started a fire in the fireplace, making sure that the flue was open, and nothing was blocking the chimney. Everyone sat in the living room around the warm fire. ``I can't remember when I was more relaxed.'' Said Kory. ``Yeah, I know. It been a long time coming'' Samaki said with a smile. ``You really deserve it hon, after everything that's happened.'' Kory kissed Samaki's nose and nodded. ``I don't know where I'd be if it wasn't for you. Things have been really hard the last couple of years, but I'm happier that it all happened as it did.'' Nick smiled at his brother. ``Father Joe always guided us through bad times with his warm advice. He helped us realize that we need to follow our heart and God will help guide us down the right path.'' \n\n``In our church we always learned that life has it's potholes, but there's always a smooth road beyond.'' Samaki said. ``We just have to steer ourselves down the road of life.'' \n\nKrystal nodded. ``Our pastor always told us that we rely on one another in tough times, to help guide us on our journey over the roadways of life. \n\nMalaya snorted. ``I don't drive.'' Making everyone laugh. \n\nAfter a while the fire died down to a small flame over a bed of glowing embers. Krystal and Malaya had retired to the bedroom for the night already, Nick was lounging on the couch, listening to some music on his digital player, and Kory and Samaki were snuggled close together in the loveseat holding paws, watching the fire slowly dying. Kory looked into Samaki's eyes, the glow from the fireplace enhancing his beautiful violet eyes and the discreet sheen in his fur. Samaki pressed his nose to Kory's and held it there, smiling and wishing this moment could last forever. \n\n``Kory?'' Said the fox.\n\n``Yes Samaki?'' Replied Kory. \n\n``I know I don't tell you as often as I should, and I'm actually ashamed that I haven't told you this before, you have made me the happiest fox in the world, I love you Kory, I love you with all my heart.'' Said Samaki in a soft voice. \n\nKory looked up at Samaki, his eyes filled with nothing but love for his fox. ``I love you too hon. I know I haven't told you this either, but you mean the world to me. There is nothing in this entire world that I'd want more than for us to be together for the rest of our lives.''\n\nSamaki smiled at Kory letting tears of happiness flow from his eyes. The expression of love on Samaki's face spoke volumes to Kory's heart. The otter reached a paw up to the fox's eyes and gently wiped away the tears, smiling at him. ``Oh, please don't cry hon. You'll start me crying too.'' \n\nSamaki blinked his eyes. ``I'm sorry, I can't help it. When I'm with you, nothing else in this great big world matters. The feelings are so strong, so powerful, that I can't help but cry tears of happiness, knowing I'm the luckiest guy in the world.''\n\nTears flowed freely from Kory's eyes as Samaki spoke, the otter smiling up at the fox, his tail resting on Samaki's tail, which was twitching against Kory's. The pair leaned in close to one another and kissed, long and passionate, in the glow of the fire.\n\nThe next morning came and Kory woke first. He laid beside Samaki and was greeted with cool breezes, scents of raw nature, and a feeling of total freedom and relaxation that he hadn't felt in a very long time. Kory looked over to Samaki, watching him breathe softly while he slept. He then looked over to his brother who was in the next bed and smiled, Nick had a pillow over his head and the sheets were hanging off his feet paws, which were dangling over the edge of the bed. He smiled and noticed that nick was sleeping in just his boxers instead of pajamas like when they were living with their mother. Kory decided that Nick was just finding his own comfort level, just as he had to when he found he preferred to sleep naked with a fox wrapped around him. Kory slipped out of bed silently so not to wake the sleeping fox and slipped on a pair of underwear. Kory padded over to his brother and laid his paw on Nick's shoulder. ``Nick?'' Kory whispered. ``Are you awake?'' Nick stirred and opened his eyes slowly, smiling up at his brother. ``Good morning Kory.'' Kory shushed his brother and whispered. ``Don't wake Samaki, come outside with me.'' Nick looked over to Samaki and smiled. ``He does look cute when he's asleep.'' Nick whispered to Kory, which made him giggle softly. \n\nKory and Nick padded out to the porch and admired the view of the lake early in the morning. The sun was shining at a low angle through the trees, casting beams of warm light across the lake and highlighting the whisps of light fog that danced on the surface of the water. ``This place is just so beautiful.'' Nick said. ``I could live here for the rest of my life.'' \n\n``I know how you feel little brother. I feel the same way.'' Kory said as he looked over to Nick. ``I wish I could live here with Samaki. We would be so happy just being here with each other.'' \n\n``Kory? You really do love him huh?'' Nick asked. Kory nodded without hesitation. ``Samaki means the world to me. I finally told him so last night. You were right, I wish I had told him sooner.'' Nick smiled and put a paw on Kory's shoulder. ``See? I told you. Once you express your true feelings for someone to them, then all the guilt and anguish just melts away.'' \n\nKory nodded and looked into Nick's eyes. A look of sadness came across his face as his ears and tail drooped. ``You're all the family I have now Nick. Kory started to cry, and Nick wrapped his arms tightly around his brother, squeezing him as Kory replied in kind. \n\nKory wiped his tears away with his paw. ``I know we'll have Mom too, even if she won't have us.'' Nick nodded and sniffed back his own tears. ``I wish that she was more accepting of you and Samaki. I don't know why she refuses to see that love comes in many forms. Even when God says so.'' \n\nKory ran his paw through Nick's head fur. ``I wish I knew Nick. She had taught us that God would always love us, and I feel in my heart that he does love us, even if I choose to give my love to Samaki. I just don't know why she chooses to ignore this, even when Father Joe reminded her that nothing is more precious than love for another.'' \n\nNick shrugged. ``I hope that some day she will see just how happy you are with Samaki and that will help her see the truth. Right now, she just seems to be blinded with ignorance, worrying more about how others think of her than she thinks of herself and her own family.''\n\n``We can only hope little brother.'' Said Kory. A shuffle of claws sounded from the cabin behind them as they both turned to see Samaki emerging from the bedroom in just his briefs, yawning wide and stretching his arms over his head. ``Good morning you guys. Did you sleep well?''\n\nKory smiled, ``I know I did. But Nick was a bit wrapped up in his sheets and lost a fight with his pillow.''\n\n``Oh common Kory, you know I can't get comfortable in a strange bed, and I toss and turn in my sleep'' Said Nick, making Samaki giggle. ``You two remind me of my own brothers. They're little scamps sometimes but I love them.'' Kory and Nick giggled. \n\nKrystal emerged from the other bedroom and greeted the boys on the porch. ``Good morning guys. I see we all dressed for the occasion.'' The three boys then realized that they all were standing outside in only their underwear. Kory giggled ``At least Samaki and I are wearing something today.'' Nick punched Kory on his arm playfully ``Did you have to rehash that memory in my head? Geez I'll need a lobotomy to erase that memory at this rate.'' Krystal, Kory and Samaki laughed. \n\nThe bedroom door slammed open behind Krystal, they all turned and looked in to see Malaya dragging herself out of the bedroom, looking very groggy. ``Doesn't anyone believe in sleeping in anymore?'' Kory smiled and waved a paw over towards the lake, ''Aww Malaya, who would want to sleep in and miss this beautiful scenery?'' Malaya scoffed ``Me.''\n\nThe next few days were spent enjoying the relaxing atmosphere, hiking through the woods in the morning to show them some rather interesting places she had been to over the years, then swimming in the lake during the afternoon to subdue the oppressive heat of summer. Krystal shared quite a bit of her life and memories of her time here with her family. Even Malaya seemed to grow closer to Krystal over the days, openly laughing and sharing friendly touches between each other. Kory and Samaki spent some quality time with each other, swimming and playing in the water with Nick, and holding one another closely at night by the fire. Nick also seemed more relaxed than he had been, having opened up to Kory was a heavy burden off of his chest and it showed how much he truly loved his brother, and Samaki. The five friends were very much enjoying their time together, sharing many things in their lives with each other, and bonding with one another in ways that couldn't have been expected. \n\nThe last evening at the cabin was spent indoors, with a heavy thunderstorm outside forcing everyone to stay inside the cozy cabin. Kory and Samaki were sitting in the bedroom in just their underwear brushing each other's fur. Nick came in and sat on his bed. Kory looked at his brother. ``Everything OK Nick?'' Nick nodded and leaned back against the wall. ``Samaki, can I ask you something?'' Samaki looked at Kory for a second before answering. ``Sure. What's up?''\n\nNick fidgeted with his tail a bit, looking a bit apprehensive. ``Nick, Is something wrong?'' Said Samaki. Nick looked over at Samaki. ``I hope this doesn't come out wrong and I apologize if it does, but I wanted to know what you guys plan on doing for your future.'' \n\nSamaki and Kory looked at each other and back at Nick with a puzzled look. ``What do you mean?'' Samaki asked. \n\nNick leaned forward and tried to find his words. `` I just mean you both seem so happy together. Kory even found out about himself because of you, and it changed his whole life. I really want to know if you plan on remaining just boyfriends or taking it further.'' Kory was now Staring at Nick with a concerned expression on his face. ``Nick?'' Kory asked, `` Are you worried we won't stay together?'' Nick shrugged. ``I mean you guys are so happy together. I've even fallen in love with Samaki as a kind of stepbrother. I'd really hate to see something break you guys up.'' \n\nSamaki and Kory looked at one another again. ``We weren't planning on breaking up with each other. I'm happy with Kory, and with you, right here and right now. It's possible something may happen in the future between us but who's to say if it will or not. No one can predict the future but I'm hoping it finds us all together and happy as we are now.'' Samaki said, making Kory nod and kiss his fox on the cheek. \n\nKory added, `` We love each other very much, even with all the strains we've each gone through over these last couple of years, but it's also made us stronger and care for each other even more. Just like in any relationship.''\n\nNick sighed and looked at his feet paws. ``I know guys and I'm sorry if I'm butting in where I don't belong.'' Kory and Samaki both moved over beside Nick putting their arms around him. Holding the younger otter and seeing a tear run down his face. ``Nick, what's wrong?'' Asked Kory. Samaki interjected. ``We know you're concerned about something, what is it?'' \n\nNick closed his eyes, tears flowed freely now. He looked like he was trying to get the right words out. Kory and Samaki held him and gave him time. Nick finally said, ``I just remember when Dad left. I was just a kid, but I remember how Mom and Kory were really hurt, and they really weren't the same after that happened. Mom especially, she cried all the time and it made me sad seeing her like that.'' Kory nodded sadly. ``I remember that. We all took it pretty badly when he left us.'' \n\nNick continued. `` I just don't want you guys to split up like Mom and Dad did. I love you guys a lot, and I don't ever want to see either of you sad like that.'' Samaki squeezed Nick's shoulder. ``I'm sorry you went through that. It can't be easy to deal with parents splitting up. I'm lucky that my parents never really had that kind of problem. We had issues growing up that caused arguments, money issues came up and that caused a lot of stress also. Sometimes it was hard on everyone, but we got through the rough patches, and we all love one another as much as we can. No one can know what the future holds for us, but if we live in the present and love one another as much as possible, then we can deal with the rough patches when they come.''\n\nNick sniffled back some more tears.'' I want to be a part of your lives too. You both mean a lot to me, and I want you to be happy.'' Samaki had tears streaming down his cheeks now but smiled at Nick and Kory. ``You both mean the world to me also and I'm very happy to be a part of your lives, and to have you both as a part of mine.'' Nick, Kory, and Samaki hugged each other tightly and let the tears stream down their faces. Kory kissed Nick on his cheek and rubbed his paw up and down his back. I love you Nick. I always have and always will.'' ``I love you too Kory, and I love you too Samaki. My bigger brother.'' Nick said looking at Kory and Samaki with a tearful smile. Samaki smiled and nuzzled Nick lovingly. \n\nKory asked Nick, ``Would you like us to brush your fur for you? It may help you feel better.'' Nick looked at Kory and nodded before stripping down to his boxers and letting Kory and Samaki brush all his fears and worries away.\n\nKrystal and Malaya were in the kitchen preparing dinner and chatting. ``So, what did you want to do tonight? ''Malaya asked. ``We go back to our hum drum lives tomorrow.'' Krystal pondered as she cut some carrots. ``I don't know really. Can't do much outside with the rain. \n\nDinner consisted of some fresh fish that Kory and Nick caught in the lake before it started raining, some Lettuce, potatoes, and carrots bought from a local farm, and some fresh bread from the bakery in town. Dinner prayer was said, and food was served and consumed over chit chat and laughter amongst friends. Krystal got up and opened a bottle of red wine and poured five glasses out for everyone. She placed a glass in front of each of them and while standing proclaimed, ``A toast. To the good times we've all had together, to the bad times we will all get through, to friends, family, and lovers.'' ``Here here'' Was proclaimed by all, as glasses clinked, and wine sipped. Nick looked at Krystal. ``This is pretty good. Can I have some more?'' Krystal smiled but shook her head. ``Sorry Nick. Enough for a toast is all you can have until you're of legal age.'' Nick stuck his tongue out at her and laughed. Samaki sipped his wine and smiled. ``He's right though. This wine is very good.'' Kory and Malaya nodded in agreement. ``I picked this up the other day just for this occasion. I wanted this night to be something very special for us all.'' \n\nOnce dinner was finished and the plates cleaned up, the group of friends gathered in the living room to relax. Kory and Samaki cuddled against each other on the loveseat, Malaya and Krystal sat on the couch, and Nick lounged on the recliner. ``I hope you all had as nice of a time this week as I did.'' Krystal asked. Everyone nodded ``This place is amazing. I love all the little touches in the house that make it more personal.'' Kory said. Samaki added, ``Yeah, the family pictures from so many years on the walls, and the many paw prints in the cement next to the house, with the names and years they were made are great touches.'' Krystal nodded, ``Yeah, those paw prints go back at least fifty years.'' Nick smiled ``I love the lake, it's so clean.'' I think the lake is fed by a natural spring, but I'm not sure.'' Krystal said. Kory smiled. ``I can't thank you enough for inviting us here. I can't tell you just how much this trip has meant to me.'' Samaki held Kory's paw, ``Same for me. I think we all needed this trip. We were able to get a lot of things sorted out, and we all bonded in ways that almost make it magical.'' Kory smiled and kissed Samaki. Nick cleared his throat. ``I can tell you that this trip will remain as one of my fondest memories for the rest of my life. I was able to summon the courage to face my fears from my past, and I came out of it with another brother'' Samaki smiled and nodded. ``You better believe it Nick.'' Krystal smiled and took Malaya by the hand. ``I think I may have come away with someone special also.'' Malaya smiled and nuzzled Krystal's cheek. ``Me too.'' Kory had spent the last weeks busy with final exams and was looking forward to a break to spend time with Samaki. Kory also had several informal therapy sessions with Jerry, explaining some of the most intimate details of his life to him, how he fell in love with Samaki, his mother's scorn towards them both, and about his brother Nick and how easily he accepted Kory's life choices, and his fears and insecurities about being gay in a world that does not seem accepting to those lifestyle choices. Kory was pleased with Jerry, he learned that Jerry was bisexual and has a firsthand understanding of the same types of insecurities Kory felt. Jerry was planning on staying at Forrester for a couple more years, earning his PhD in Clinical Psychology and starting a practice to help victims of abuse.  They built up a rapport easily and Kory became more comfortable discussing his problems with Jerry, especially when Samaki joined them.

After only a couple of times talking things out with Jerry, Kory felt much more at ease, and the panic attacks and nightmares went away, returning Kory to his peaceful state of mind and happier thoughts of time spent with his fox. Samaki was also benefiting from Jerry's help. They were able to get some things out that Samaki didn't even realize were bothering him, giving him a much clearer understanding of his relationship with Kory and how much he truly loved him. Their friendship with Krystal also bloomed, with the trio meeting up for social gatherings, coffee, or just sitting on the couch playing games. It turns out Krystal was a natural at Pac Rat and gave Samaki some real competition.

With the last exams for the semester now behind them, the time had come to decide how they would spend their summer vacation. While most of the university would be returning home, there were still some classes for students needing make up classes. Kory and Samaki signed up to be mentors to some of these students, but the mentoring program wasn't scheduled to begin for another three weeks, giving them a chance to get some time away. ``We could go to the beach'' Kory said. ``We used to go to the beach every summer. It was fun.'' Samaki nodded ``I've only been to the beach a couple of times, it was always hard to plan with my parent's work schedules. Then there were the costs of going'' Kory nodded, ``how about going camping then? It doesn't cost much to pitch a tent in the woods.'' Samaki snickered ``We can always pitch a tent right here too.'' Kory blushed and laughed with Samaki. ``OK OK, point taken,'' Kory said, ``but there must be something we can do that we can both afford.'' The thought was interrupted by a familiar knock on the door. Kory opened the door and invited Krystal in. ``Hi Krystal, common in.''

Krystal was practically bouncing on her paws with happiness. ``I have such wonderful news guys, my parents said I can use our family's cabin at the lake this summer since they can't go, and I can invite anyone I want to. I was hoping you guys would be interested in coming with me for a week.'' Kory and Samaki looked at each other and smiled. The idea of sitting by a nice lake appealed to them. Kory would be able to swim anytime he wanted to, and he would have Samaki there with him. ``Wow that sounds great.'' Kory said, ``Are you sure it wouldn't be any trouble?'' Krystal shook her head. ``The cabin is big enough for five comfortably and is secluded enough that the peace and quiet will relax you in no time.'' Kory looked at Samaki ``What do you think hon?'' Samaki grinned, ``I think it'd be great. Can we invite Nick and Malaya too?'' Krystal nodded ``Of course, we can make it a super fun week.'' ``Then it's settled'' Kory said, ``A week at the lake it is.''

Kory and Samaki were loading their bags into Krystal's car when Nick and Malaya arrived. ``Perfect timing you guys.'' Said Samaki, as he took their bags and loaded them into the trunk. ``Perfect would be me staying home with the boob tube.'' said Malaya with a grin on her face. ``don't fret Malaya,'' said Kory, ``it'll be there when you get back. It's time to kick back and relax now.'' Malaya snorted, ``I can relax in front of the TV too.'' Kory and Nick both eyerolled and got into the car.

The four-hour trip was spent with Nick listening to music on his digital player, Samaki taking in the sights on the way, and Malaya and Kory napping in the back seat almost the whole trip. Krystal exited the freeway and turned into a shopping center, parking the car, and waking Malaya and Kory. ``Come on you guys, we have to buy groceries for the week.'' Everyone piled out of the car and Nick grabbed a shopping cart.  Shopping took about forty minutes and they had more than enough food to last them the whole week. ``OK guys, only thirty minutes more and we'll be there. I can't wait,'' Everyone smiled and piled back into the car.

The turn off was barely visible as Krystal veered off the road and into the woods. Kory was wondering if this was even a road, but Krystal assured everyone they were on the right road to the cabin. A short time later Krystal stopped the car and proclaimed, ``we have arrived.'' Everyone looked around but only saw trees and bushes. ``Ummm Krystal?'' said Samaki, ``where are we?'' Krystal looked around and realized why everyone was confused. ``You can't see the cabin from here, it's just a short walk though, about fifty yards.''

 Everyone grabbed their bags and carried some groceries and followed Krystal into the woods, not even sure where the path was but they followed the panther closely. It took several minutes to traverse the fifty or so yards through the woods. Suddenly the trees gave way to a clearing, and everyone gasped at the sight. A small cabin rested against the tree line surrounded by some of the most beautiful natural landscaping they had ever seen. Rocks and flowers adorned the site in an inviting manner, beckoning any visitors lucky enough to find this place to venture further towards the cabin. A dark blue lake laid just past the cabin, the water was calm as glass and reflecting the sky on the surface like a mirror. A small but functional dock jutted out from the land, inviting you to seek out the cool water at the end. Krystal smiled broadly at the familiar sight and waved a paw across the tranquil scene. ``Welcome to paradise''

Once in the cabin, window shutters were opened, covers removed from the furniture, Beds were made, and food put away. It was finally time to relax. Nick eyed the lake from the doorway. ``Can we go for a swim?'' Krystal nodded. ``Feel free to change in there,'' pointing towards the bedroom, ``I'll have to find my swimsuit. Just give me a few minutes.'' Malaya flopped onto the couch, ``There's no TV. Bummer.'' Krystal giggled at the fruit bat. ``We're too far out for any reception anyway. Come on, enjoy the water.'' Malaya snorted ``Get wet on purpose? No way. Besides, I don't own a bathing suit.'' Krystal turned and ducked into the bedroom, returning in a minute, and tossing a swimsuit at Malaya. ``You're about the same size as my sister so this should fit you. Get changed and come relax on the side of the lake if you don't want to swim.'' Malaya looked at the brightly colored swimsuit and grimaced. ``You don't have one in Black I suppose?''

Kory and Nick ran headlong across the dock and dove into the water in typical otter fashion, disappearing under the surface of the water and surfacing again in the middle of the lake. Samaki strolled out onto the dock and tested the water with his tail before jumping feet first into the cool water. Krystal and Malaya followed the boys out of the cabin and headed towards the dock. The boys all stopped what they were doing and stared in awe at Malaya, who was wearing a brightly colored one-piece swimsuit which fit her form perfectly. ``Wow Malaya'' said Samaki, I have never seen you in something so colorful before. It suits you very well.'' Kory and Nick nodded in agreement. Malaya pointed her finger at the boys. ``You tell anyone about this, and I'll cut off your tails while you sleep.''

The boys giggled and resumed playing in the water as Krystal set up two deck chairs on the dock and invited Malaya to join her. Krystal laid herself in the deck chair and sighed in relief. ``It's been too long since I was here last. I'm really happy it hasn't changed a bit.'' Malaya laid in the deck chair and opened her wings to soak up some sunlight as she looked over at Krystal ``How long has this place been in your family?'' ``As long as I can remember.'' Krystal answered. ``The cabin was built by my great grandfather so the family would have a place to come and relax.'' Malaya looked over at Krystal and inwardly admired how her tawny fur shone in the sunlight. ``She has a really nice body too.'' She thought. Krystal noticed Malaya looking her over and smiled, making Malaya shift her attention to the lake and the otters swimming circles around Samaki.

Time passed slowly and dinner time approached. Krystal yelled over to the boys. ``Do you guys want to have some BBQ for dinner?'' The boys all answered with an enthusiastic thumbs up. ``OK.'' Krystal said, ``I'll get the fire going on the grille.'' Krystal stood and walked into the cabin, grabbed the wire grille from the closet and then walked over to the stone grille beside the cabin, putting the wire in its assigned place on the stones. Nick exited the water and joined Krystal by the grille. ``Can I help?'' he said with a grin and a wag of his tail. ``Sure thing'' Krystal said, ``There should be some firewood next to the cabin and there is a bag of charcoal just inside the door.'' Nick smiled and gathered the wood and charcoal in no time, helped Krystal get the fire started, and followed her inside to help prepare the food.

Samaki and Kory were alone in the lake, nose to nose and taking turns kissing each other. Malaya looked at the couple. ``Can't you two keep it in your pants until later? You're scaring the fish.'' Kory and Samaki laughed and swam over to the dock. Kory swam beside the dock where Malaya was laying in the deck chair and thumped his tail hard in the water, splashing Malaya repeatedly while Samaki laughed. The bat sputtered and coughed at the sudden attack. ``Hey! That's not fair!'' She protested. Samaki proclaimed, ``All is fair in love and otters.'' Malaya stood up and shook herself off, she smiled and flipped Samaki off before heading back to the cabin. Samaki leaned up on the dock on his elbows and laughed.

Kory in the meantime was swimming underneath the fox, looking up and smiling. Kory slipped through the water stealthily, closing in on the fox undetected. Kory reached his paws up and grabbed Samaki's swimsuit by the waist and swam downward, taking the garment with him before the fox could even react. Samaki yelped and slipped off the side of the dock, looking around for Kory but seeing no sign of the mischievous otter. Samaki yelled down into the water. ``Give those back you silly otter.''

Suddenly Kory shot out of the water and up onto the dock, landing on his feet paws, Samaki's swimsuit in his paw. Kory waved it around, taunting the fox. ``Oh my, look at what I found. Whatever will the fox do now?'' Samaki pointed at Kory with a smile on his muzzle. ``You better give those back if you know what's good for you.'' Kory laughed and ran towards the cabin. ``Come and get them if you dare.'' Samaki whined and yelled after the otter, ``Damnit Kory, just you wait!''

Kory ran into the house panting and laughing. Nick, Malaya, and Krystal looked at him with a puzzled look on their faces. Kory held up the swimsuit over his head and laughed,'' Poor Samaki. He may be a little late for dinner.'' The trio laughed and Krystal proclaimed, ``You never know when a fox will exact his revenge. I'd be careful Kory.'' The otter laughed holding the swimsuit up like a prize. So long as I have this, I don't think I.... ``Kory's statement was interrupted by a sharp tug on his swimsuit just above his tail. Before the otter could register what was happening, his swimsuit was pooled around his ankles. Kory Squeaked and looked down at his now exposed privates, swinging his tail around to cover himself. Laughter echoed through the cabin as Kory folded his ears back and blushed profusely as a pair of paws came to rest on his shoulders. Samaki leaned down next to his ear. ``Did you really think that being naked would stop me from exacting my revenge?''

Nick laughed and shielded his eyes as the girls' wolf whistled at the naked pair. Kory gave them a sheepish grin still blushing brightly. Samaki pulled his boyfriend into a deep kiss and held him as Kory pressed back into the kiss. Kory panted from the sudden passion from Samaki and smiled at him. Malaya nudged Krystal with her elbow. ``Looks like someone is excited.'' She said with an impish grin. Kory looked over at the bat with a puzzled look on his face then realized they were both staring right at him. The otter looked down and realized his pink cock was fully erect and plainly visible to everyone. Samaki smiled and folded his arms across his chest, still completely naked. ``My oh my, what are we going to do about this I wonder.'' As he grabbed Kory by the paw and led him into the bedroom. The girls giggling and applauding at the pair.

Nick uncovered his eyes at the sound of the bedroom door closing and breathed a sigh of relief. ``Uhhhh... Would you guys mind if I made some hamburgers for dinner? After that sight I'm not in the mood for hot dogs.''

Kory and Samaki emerged from the bedroom about ten minutes later now fully dressed.  ``Wow that was fast you guys. I hope you didn't mess up Nick's bed with your sex.'' Malaya said. Nick squeaked and looked at Kory. ``Please, please, please don't tell me you guys fucked on my bed.'' Samaki smiled at Nick ``OK, we won't tell you.'' Kory giggled as Nick facepalmed and groaned.  ``That's it. I'm sleeping on the dock.''

``What's for dinner?'' Said Samaki. ``Or did Nick eat everything already?'' Kory giggled and faced Samaki. ``Well, he's a growing boy you know.'' Nick smirked at the pair and threw a roll of paper towels at Kory, bouncing them off Kory's head and bopping Samaki on the nose. Kory and Samaki laughed loudly and sat down for a well-deserved meal.

The group sat down at the table for dinner. Kory led the group in a prayer, everyone said ``amen'' in unison then dug into the meal. It was a simple meal consisting of burgers and hot dogs with some potato salad and cole slaw. Sodas and bottled water were consumed, and bellies were filled. ``Great food Krystal. ``Said Samaki. Krystal smiled ``Nick helped cook too.'' Kory nodded ``Good job Nick, Thanks.''

Once the table was cleared and the dishes washed and put away, everyone went out onto the porch and sat down to watch the sun setting over the lake. ``This place is incredible.'' said Kory. Krystal smiled and nodded. ``Yeah, I've always loved coming out here with my family. We have so many wonderful memories that we made here.'' ``Speaking of memories,'' Malaya said playfully. ``We now have memories of Kory and Samaki in the fur to add to them.'' Everyone laughed and Kory blushed all over again. ``I'm really sorry about that, that was all my fault.'' Krystal fuzzled Kory on his head. ``You did nothing to be sorry about Kory. Seeing someone naked doesn't bother me at all.'' ``Yeah, it's nothing we haven't seen before at some point.'' Malaya said.  Kory pressed his ears against his head and drooped his tail. ``I don't know. I mean... it's just kind of embarrassing.'' Samaki leaned over and kissed Kory on his cheek. ``You don't need to feel embarrassed hon. We are amongst friends and it's not like anything bad happened.'' Nick agreed. ``Yeah Kory, I can't tell you how many guys I've seen naked in the locker room at swim meets. It's not something that bothers me anymore. Don't worry about it. I'm sure no one feels offended.'' ``Maybe I do.'' Said Malaya with a smile. ``I wasn't expecting a sausage party.'' Everyone laughed. Nick continued. ``Besides, didn't I tell you about the size contest?'' Kory looked at his brother shocked. ``You were in a size contest with other guys?'' Nick nodded ``Yep. I won'' Nick winked his eye and smiled.  Kory and Samaki groaned in unison. Krystal laughed a good belly laugh and Malaya pondered what he just said, shaking her head.

The sun fell from the sky slowly as the five friends sat and chatted amongst each other. Kory and Samaki were cuddled up against each other on the bench, Samaki's tail was wrapped around Kory's, his tail tip twitching softly against Kory's tail tip as the lovers melted into the moment. Malaya closed her eyes and soaked in the cool lake air. Krystal and Nick watched the surroundings and simply enjoyed the scenery and natural beauty. When the sun finally fell below the horizon, Krystal asked, ``Anyone for ice cream and cake?'' Everyone got a broad smile on their faces and followed Krystal inside.

The group settled in for the night, Nick started a fire in the fireplace, making sure that the flue was open, and nothing was blocking the chimney. Everyone sat in the living room around the warm fire. ``I can't remember when I was more relaxed.'' Said Kory. ``Yeah, I know. It been a long time coming'' Samaki said with a smile. ``You really deserve it hon, after everything that's happened.'' Kory kissed Samaki's nose and nodded. ``I don't know where I'd be if it wasn't for you. Things have been really hard the last couple of years, but I'm happier that it all happened as it did.''  Nick smiled at his brother. ``Father Joe always guided us through bad times with his warm advice. He helped us realize that we need to follow our heart and God will help guide us down the right path.''

``In our church we always learned that life has it's potholes, but there's always a smooth road beyond.'' Samaki said. ``We just have to steer ourselves down the road of life.''

Krystal nodded. ``Our pastor always told us that we rely on one another in tough times, to help guide us on our journey over the roadways of life.

Malaya snorted. ``I don't drive.'' Making everyone laugh.

After a while the fire died down to a small flame over a bed of glowing embers. Krystal and Malaya had retired to the bedroom for the night already, Nick was lounging on the couch, listening to some music on his digital player, and Kory and Samaki were snuggled close together in the loveseat holding paws, watching the fire slowly dying. Kory looked into Samaki's eyes, the glow from the fireplace enhancing his beautiful violet eyes and the discreet sheen in his fur. Samaki pressed his nose to Kory's and held it there, smiling and wishing this moment could last forever.

``Kory?'' Said the fox.

``Yes Samaki?'' Replied Kory.

``I know I don't tell you as often as I should, and I'm actually ashamed that I haven't told you this before, you have made me the happiest fox in the world, I love you Kory, I love you with all my heart.'' Said Samaki in a soft voice.

Kory looked up at Samaki, his eyes filled with nothing but love for his fox. ``I love you too hon. I know I haven't told you this either, but you mean the world to me. There is nothing in this entire world that I'd want more than for us to be together for the rest of our lives.''

Samaki smiled at Kory letting tears of happiness flow from his eyes. The expression of love on Samaki's face spoke volumes to Kory's heart. The otter reached a paw up to the fox's eyes and gently wiped away the tears, smiling at him. ``Oh, please don't cry hon. You'll start me crying too.''

Samaki blinked his eyes. ``I'm sorry, I can't help it. When I'm with you, nothing else in this great big world matters. The feelings are so strong, so powerful, that I can't help but cry tears of happiness, knowing I'm the luckiest guy in the world.''

Tears flowed freely from Kory's eyes as Samaki spoke, the otter smiling up at the fox, his tail resting on Samaki's tail, which was twitching against Kory's. The pair leaned in close to one another and kissed, long and passionate, in the glow of the fire.

The next morning came and Kory woke first. He laid beside Samaki and was greeted with cool breezes, scents of raw nature, and a feeling of total freedom and relaxation that he hadn't felt in a very long time. Kory looked over to Samaki, watching him breathe softly while he slept. He then looked over to his brother who was in the next bed and smiled, Nick had a pillow over his head and the sheets were hanging off his feet paws, which were dangling over the edge of the bed. He smiled and noticed that nick was sleeping in just his boxers instead of pajamas like when they were living with their mother. Kory decided that Nick was just finding his own comfort level, just as he had to when he found he preferred to sleep naked with a fox wrapped around him.  Kory slipped out of bed silently so not to wake the sleeping fox and slipped on a pair of underwear. Kory padded over to his brother and laid his paw on Nick's shoulder. ``Nick?'' Kory whispered. ``Are you awake?'' Nick stirred and opened his eyes slowly, smiling up at his brother. ``Good morning Kory.'' Kory shushed his brother and whispered. ``Don't wake Samaki, come outside with me.'' Nick looked over to Samaki and smiled. ``He does look cute when he's asleep.'' Nick whispered to Kory, which made him giggle softly.

Kory and Nick padded out to the porch and admired the view of the lake early in the morning. The sun was shining at a low angle through the trees, casting beams of warm light across the lake and highlighting the whisps of light fog that danced on the surface of the water. ``This place is just so beautiful.'' Nick said. ``I could live here for the rest of my life.''

``I know how you feel little brother. I feel the same way.'' Kory said as he looked over to Nick. ``I wish I could live here with Samaki. We would be so happy just being here with each other.''

``Kory? You really do love him huh?'' Nick asked.  Kory nodded without hesitation. ``Samaki means the world to me. I finally told him so last night. You were right, I wish I had told him sooner.'' Nick smiled and put a paw on Kory's shoulder. ``See? I told you. Once you express your true feelings for someone to them, then all the guilt and anguish just melts away.''

Kory nodded and looked into Nick's eyes. A look of sadness came across his face as his ears and tail drooped. ``You're all the family I have now Nick. I don't want you to think I'd ever forget you for someone else, even for Samaki.''

``Kory? You should know better than to think that. You'll always be my big brother and I'll always love you, without question.'' Kory started to cry, and Nick wrapped his arms tightly around his brother, squeezing him as Kory replied in kind.

Kory wiped his tears away with his paw. ``I know we'll have Mom too, even if she won't have us.'' Nick nodded and sniffed back his own tears. ``I wish that she was more accepting of you and Samaki. I don't know why she refuses to see that love comes in many forms. Even when God says so.''

Kory ran his paw through Nick's head fur. ``I wish I knew Nick. She had taught us that God would always love us, and I feel in my heart that he does love us, even if I choose to give my love to Samaki. I just don't know why she chooses to ignore this, even when Father Joe reminded her that nothing is more precious than love for another.''

Nick shrugged. ``I hope that some day she will see just how happy you are with Samaki and that will help her see the truth. Right now, she just seems to be blinded with ignorance, worrying more about how others think of her than she thinks of herself and her own family.''

``We can only hope little brother.'' Said Kory. A shuffle of claws sounded from the cabin behind them as they both turned to see Samaki emerging from the bedroom in just his briefs, yawning wide and stretching his arms over his head.  ``Good morning you guys. Did you sleep well?''

Kory smiled, ``I know I did. But Nick was a bit wrapped up in his sheets and lost a fight with his pillow.''

``Oh common Kory, you know I can't get comfortable in a strange bed, and I toss and turn in my sleep'' Said Nick, making Samaki giggle. ``You two remind me of my own brothers. They're little scamps sometimes but I love them.'' Kory and Nick giggled.

Krystal emerged from the other bedroom and greeted the boys on the porch. ``Good morning guys. I see we all dressed for the occasion.'' The three boys then realized that they all were standing outside in only their underwear. Kory giggled ``At least Samaki and I are wearing something today.'' Nick punched Kory on his arm playfully ``Did you have to rehash that memory in my head? Geez I'll need a lobotomy to erase that memory at this rate.'' Krystal, Kory and Samaki laughed.

The bedroom door slammed open behind Krystal, they all turned and looked in to see Malaya dragging herself out of the bedroom, looking very groggy. ``Doesn't anyone believe in sleeping in anymore?'' Kory smiled and waved a paw over towards the lake, ''Aww Malaya, who would want to sleep in and miss this beautiful scenery?'' Malaya scoffed ``Me.''

The next few days were spent enjoying the relaxing atmosphere, hiking through the woods in the morning to show them some rather interesting places she had been to over the years, then swimming in the lake during the afternoon to subdue the oppressive heat of summer. Krystal shared quite a bit of her life and memories of her time here with her family. Even Malaya seemed to grow closer to Krystal over the days, openly laughing and sharing friendly touches between each other. Kory and Samaki spent some quality time with each other, swimming and playing in the water with Nick, and holding one another closely at night by the fire. Nick also seemed more relaxed than he had been, having opened up to Kory was a heavy burden off of his chest and it showed how much he truly loved his brother, and Samaki. The five friends were very much enjoying their time together, sharing many things in their lives with each other, and bonding with one another in ways that couldn't have been expected.

The last evening at the cabin was spent indoors, with a heavy thunderstorm outside forcing everyone to stay inside the cozy cabin. Kory and Samaki were sitting in the bedroom in just their underwear brushing each other's fur. Nick came in and sat on his bed. Kory looked at his brother. ``Everything OK Nick?'' Nick nodded and leaned back against the wall. ``Samaki, can I ask you something?'' Samaki looked at Kory for a second before answering. ``Sure. What's up?''

Nick fidgeted with his tail a bit, looking a bit apprehensive. ``Nick, Is something wrong?'' Said Samaki. Nick looked over at Samaki. ``I hope this doesn't come out wrong and I apologize if it does, but I wanted to know what you guys plan on doing for your future.''

Samaki and Kory looked at each other and back at Nick with a puzzled look. ``What do you mean?'' Samaki asked.

Nick leaned forward and tried to find his words. `` I just mean you both seem so happy together. Kory even found out about himself because of you, and it changed his whole life. I really want to know if you plan on remaining just boyfriends or taking it further.'' Kory was now Staring at Nick with a concerned expression on his face. ``Nick?'' Kory asked, `` Are you worried we won't stay together?''  Nick shrugged. ``I mean you guys are so happy together. I've even fallen in love with Samaki as a kind of stepbrother. I'd really hate to see something break you guys up.''

Samaki and Kory looked at one another again. ``We weren't planning on breaking up with each other. I'm happy with Kory, and with you, right here and right now. It's possible something may happen in the future between us but who's to say if it will or not. No one can predict the future but I'm hoping it finds us all together and happy as we are now.'' Samaki said, making Kory nod and kiss his fox on the cheek.

Kory added, `` We love each other very much, even with all the strains we've each gone through over these last couple of years, but it's also made us stronger and care for each other even more. Just like in any relationship.''

Nick sighed and looked at his feet paws. ``I know guys and I'm sorry if I'm butting in where I don't belong.'' Kory and Samaki both moved over beside Nick putting their arms around him. Holding the younger otter and seeing a tear run down his face. ``Nick, what's wrong?'' Asked Kory. Samaki interjected. ``We know you're concerned about something, what is it?''

Nick closed his eyes, tears flowed freely now. He looked like he was trying to get the right words out. Kory and Samaki held him and gave him time. Nick finally said, ``I just remember when Dad left. I was just a kid, but I remember how Mom and Kory were really hurt, and they really weren't the same after that happened. Mom especially, she cried all the time and it made me sad seeing her like that.'' Kory nodded sadly. ``I remember that. We all took it pretty badly when he left us.''

Nick continued. `` I just don't want you guys to split up like Mom and Dad did. I love you guys a lot, and I don't ever want to see either of you sad like that.'' Samaki squeezed Nick's shoulder. ``I'm sorry you went through that. It can't be easy to deal with parents splitting up. I'm lucky that my parents never really had that kind of problem. We had issues growing up that caused arguments, money issues came up and that caused a lot of stress also. Sometimes it was hard on everyone, but we got through the rough patches, and we all love one another as much as we can. No one can know what the future holds for us, but if we live in the present and love one another as much as possible, then we can deal with the rough patches when they come.''

Nick sniffled back some more tears.'' I want to be a part of your lives too. You both mean a lot to me, and I want you to be happy.'' Samaki had tears streaming down his cheeks now but smiled at Nick and Kory. ``You both mean the world to me also and I'm very happy to be a part of your lives, and to have you both as a part of mine.'' Nick, Kory, and Samaki hugged each other tightly and let the tears stream down their faces. Kory kissed Nick on his cheek and rubbed his paw up and down his back. I love you Nick. I always have and always will.'' ``I love you too Kory, and I love you too Samaki. My bigger brother.'' Nick said looking at Kory and Samaki with a tearful smile. Samaki smiled and nuzzled Nick lovingly.

Kory asked Nick, ``Would you like us to brush your fur for you? It may help you feel better.'' Nick looked at Kory and nodded before stripping down to his boxers and letting Kory and Samaki brush all his fears and worries away.

Krystal and Malaya were in the kitchen preparing dinner and chatting. ``So, what did you want to do tonight? ''Malaya asked. ``We go back to our hum drum lives tomorrow.'' Krystal pondered as she cut some carrots. ``I don't know really. Can't do much outside with the rain.

Dinner consisted of some fresh fish that Kory and Nick caught in the lake before it started raining, some Lettuce, potatoes, and carrots bought from a local farm, and some fresh bread from the bakery in town. Dinner prayer was said, and food was served and consumed over chit chat and laughter amongst friends. Krystal got up and opened a bottle of red wine and poured five glasses out for everyone. She placed a glass in front of each of them and while standing proclaimed, ``A toast. To the good times we've all had together, to the bad times we will all get through, to friends, family, and lovers.'' ``Here here'' Was proclaimed by all, as glasses clinked, and wine sipped. Nick looked at Krystal. ``This is pretty good. Can I have some more?'' Krystal smiled but shook her head. ``Sorry Nick. Enough for a toast is all you can have until you're of legal age.'' Nick stuck his tongue out at her and laughed. Samaki sipped his wine and smiled. ``He's right though. This wine is very good.'' Kory and Malaya nodded in agreement. ``I picked this up the other day just for this occasion. I wanted this night to be something very special for us all.''

Once dinner was finished and the plates cleaned up, the group of friends gathered in the living room to relax. Kory and Samaki cuddled against each other on the loveseat, Malaya and Krystal sat on the couch, and Nick lounged on the recliner. ``I hope you all had as nice of a time this week as I did.'' Krystal asked. Everyone nodded ``This place is amazing. I love all the little touches in the house that make it more personal.'' Kory said. Samaki added, ``Yeah, the family pictures from so many years on the walls, and the many paw prints in the cement next to the house, with the names and years they were made are great touches.'' Krystal nodded, ``Yeah, those paw prints go back at least fifty years.'' Nick smiled ``I love the lake, it's so clean.'' I think the lake is fed by a natural spring, but I'm not sure.'' Krystal said. Kory smiled. ``I can't thank you enough for inviting us here. I can't tell you just how much this trip has meant to me.'' Samaki held Kory's paw, ``Same for me. I think we all needed this trip. We were able to get a lot of things sorted out, and we all bonded in ways that almost make it magical.'' Kory smiled and kissed Samaki. Nick cleared his throat. ``I can tell you that this trip will remain as one of my fondest memories for the rest of my life. I was able to summon the courage to face my fears from my past, and I came out of it with another brother'' Samaki smiled and nodded. ``You better believe it Nick.'' Krystal smiled and took Malaya by the hand. ``I think I may have come away with someone special also.'' Malaya smiled and nuzzled Krystal's cheek. ``Me too.'' Kory's jaw dropped as Samaki smiled and Nick applauded.
