", "writing": "Kyle and Sophitia have been dating and mating pretty regularly since they first met at the beach three months ago. It is quite easy to see that the two cubs are in love. About seven weeks after that day they met on the beach, Sophi became sick, though it passed quickly. It just so happened that the flu was going around school at that time, so no one took notice of one more sick cub as being anything but normal. \n\nA month later came the weekend of Sophi’s family camping trip, which Kyle was invited to join. The timing was deliberate. It was well known in the family that all the Baggins girls went into heat around the same time, and Sophi’s parents had planned the trip to let the girls enjoy nature during their cycle instead of being cooped up in the house for the last week of summer.\n\nKyle and Sophi spent the whole weekend together—seeing more of each other and the inside of their tent than anything nature had to offer. Supposedly, this went unnoticed by Sophi’s parents, who seemed just as preoccupied in their own tent.\n\nThis, perhaps, explains why Angelica, Sophi’s oldest sister, kept giving the couple strange looks and sniffing around them. The older vixen even pulled her baby sister aside for a private talk at one point. Though Sophi didn’t understand what her sister was hinting at, Angelica wouldn’t elaborate. After their “talk,” Angelica always seemed to grin at the two of them, as if she knew something they didn’t. However, she kept her silence and gave them their space.\n\nThe only hint that something might be off came during a whispered conversation between Angelica and Sophi’s mother on the hike back at the end of the trip. They quickly went quiet as soon as they noticed Kyle looking their way. His ears twitched, wondering what they had been talking about, but Sophi was too busy clinging to his arm, their tails curled together, pointing out things they’d missed on the way up to notice. The two older vixens gave them a smile, but Kyle didn’t miss how forced Sophi’s mother’s smile looked. With Sophi as a distraction, Kyle soon forgot about it, and everything returned to normal.\n\nWith school starting, they both had more distractions. But three weeks into the school year, no amount of distraction could keep Kyle from noticing when Sophi suddenly stopped contacting him. After over a week with no word—not even a text—he became seriously worried. So worried, in fact, that he even went to his sister for advice. However, she only shrugged and said, “Maybe she got bored of you. How should I know?” He glared at his sister. She had obviously not forgiven Sophi for the trick she played on her. (But that’s another story for another time.)\nStill, Kyle wasn’t sure what to do. Sophi went to a different school, and he didn’t know any of her friends’ numbers or have any other way to reach her. When he finally made up his mind to go to her house and see her, he suddenly got a text from her—as if she had read his mind from miles away.\n\n“Kyle, I need to see you. It’s important. Can you come to my house Saturday?”\n\nKyle quickly replied, saying he’d be there, but got no answer to any of his follow-up questions, which only frustrated him further. He spent the rest of the week in pure agitation, to the point where even his parents noticed. Then Saturday came, and he found himself standing outside Sophi’s house, knocking on the door. Angelica opened it and gave him a bright smile—different from the smirking one she wore during the camping trip.\n“Hey, Kyle. Sophi’s in the living room. Mom and Dad won’t be back for two hours, and my other sibs are out doing their own thing. So don’t worry—you two have the house to yourselves. I’m off. Good luck, Tiger.” And with that cryptic send-off, she walked past him and left.\n\nJust as Angelica had said, Kyle found Sophi in the living room, sitting on the couch looking glum. She wore what looked like a loose-fitting pink dress that barely covered her thighs.\n“S-Sophi,” he said. She looked up at him, her smile returning—warm and familiar, like her old self. “Kyle!” She got up, ran over, hugged him, and then took his hand and led him to the couch. It just so happened that the flu was going around school at that time, so no one took notice of one more sick cub as being anything but normal.

A month later came the weekend of Sophi’s family camping trip, which Kyle was invited to join. The timing was deliberate. It was well known in the family that all the Baggins girls went into heat around the same time, and Sophi’s parents had planned the trip to let the girls enjoy nature during their cycle instead of being cooped up in the house for the last week of summer.

Kyle and Sophi spent the whole weekend together—seeing more of each other and the inside of their tent than anything nature had to offer. Supposedly, this went unnoticed by Sophi’s parents, who seemed just as preoccupied in their own tent.

This, perhaps, explains why Angelica, Sophi’s oldest sister, kept giving the couple strange looks and sniffing around them. The older vixen even pulled her baby sister aside for a private talk at one point. Though Sophi didn’t understand what her sister was hinting at, Angelica wouldn’t elaborate. After their “talk,” Angelica always seemed to grin at the two of them, as if she knew something they didn’t. However, she kept her silence and gave them their space.

The only hint that something might be off came during a whispered conversation between Angelica and Sophi’s mother on the hike back at the end of the trip. They quickly went quiet as soon as they noticed Kyle looking their way. His ears twitched, wondering what they had been talking about, but Sophi was too busy clinging to his arm, their tails curled together, pointing out things they’d missed on the way up to notice. The two older vixens gave them a smile, but Kyle didn’t miss how forced Sophi’s mother’s smile looked. With Sophi as a distraction, Kyle soon forgot about it, and everything returned to normal.

With school starting, they both had more distractions. But three weeks into the school year, no amount of distraction could keep Kyle from noticing when Sophi suddenly stopped contacting him. After over a week with no word—not even a text—he became seriously worried. So worried, in fact, that he even went to his sister for advice. However, she only shrugged and said, “Maybe she got bored of you. How should I know?” He glared at his sister. She had obviously not forgiven Sophi for the trick she played on her. (But that’s another story for another time.)
Still, Kyle wasn’t sure what to do. Sophi went to a different school, and he didn’t know any of her friends’ numbers or have any other way to reach her. When he finally made up his mind to go to her house and see her, he suddenly got a text from her—as if she had read his mind from miles away.

“Kyle, I need to see you. It’s important. Can you come to my house Saturday?”

Kyle quickly replied, saying he’d be there, but got no answer to any of his follow-up questions, which only frustrated him further. He spent the rest of the week in pure agitation, to the point where even his parents noticed. Then Saturday came, and he found himself standing outside Sophi’s house, knocking on the door. Angelica opened it and gave him a bright smile—different from the smirking one she wore during the camping trip.
“Hey, Kyle. Sophi’s in the living room. Mom and Dad won’t be back for two hours, and my other sibs are out doing their own thing. So don’t worry—you two have the house to yourselves. I’m off. Good luck, Tiger.” And with that cryptic send-off, she walked past him and left.

Just as Angelica had said, Kyle found Sophi in the living room, sitting on the couch looking glum. She wore what looked like a loose-fitting pink dress that barely covered her thighs.
“S-Sophi,” he said. She looked up at him, her smile returning—warm and familiar, like her old self. “Kyle!” She got up, ran over, hugged him, and then took his hand and led him to the couch. They talked for several minutes—Sophi telling him how much she missed him, while carefully avoiding his questions about why she had gone silent for almost two weeks. Finally, he put his paw down. “Sophi. What’s going on?”

Her smile faltered. Then, without a word, she lay down on the couch, resting her head on his lap. For a moment, she said nothing, just stared up at him like she was searching for the right words. Then she sighed, put on a brave smile, took his hand, and placed it gently on her tummy.

“I told you I have something very important to tell you.”

Even before she spoke, the moment she placed his hand on her belly, Kyle felt an electric charge shoot down his spine, making him shiver. The sensation caught him off guard.
He began rubbing her tummy absently, the motion soothing, almost automatic. For a moment, they sat in silence. He didn’t even notice the low purr rumbling from his chest.
Then his paw froze.
There was a subtle curve there—a small, warm bump beneath the soft fabric of her dress. His mind tried to push it away, to explain it somehow. Maybe she’d gained a little weight. Maybe it was just the way she was lying down. Maybe...
But his breath caught.
The last time he’d felt her belly like this was after they’d... after he’d...No. That couldn't be it. It wasn’t possible. Not yet. Not now.
His eyes widened, panic and disbelief swirling behind them. He opened his mouth to speak—to say something, anything—but before he could, Sophi turned her head and sat up with a sigh.
“But before I tell you,” she said, avoiding his gaze, “let’s get more comfortable.”

Without waiting for a reply, Sophi stood and pulled her dress off in one fluid motion, letting it fall to the floor. Kyle blinked, still stuck in the fog of his thoughts.

“Come on, Kyle. I’ll tell you everything once we’re both comfortable.”

He wanted to say something—anything—to stop this from moving forward, to slow things down so he could breathe. But the words caught in his throat. She was being calm, almost gentle, and there was something in her voice that made arguing feel... wrong.

With a deep breath, and a faint blush burning under his fur, he slowly removed his clothes and sat back down. He still wasn’t sure what this was. Maybe she just wanted to cuddle. Maybe it was nothing. Then she returned, curling up beside him, resting her head on his lap like before. Her body pressed close, warm and real—and so was the slight, unmistakable curve of her stomach.

He tried not to look at it. But he couldn’t help it. She smiled, took his paw again, and guided it to rest over her belly—deliberate this time, lingering. He stared down at his hand, lying there, and every logical excuse he’d made began to fall apart. No. This wasn’t weight gain. It wasn’t the way she was lying. It wasn’t nothing.

His heart thudded harder, ears twitching, tail stiff. A quiet panic twisted in his chest as if the truth was pressing in on him, and no matter how hard he tried to look away from it, it wouldn’t let go.

Sophi looked up at him, still smiling—but there was something else in her eyes now. Scared... but hopeful. She gave his paw a gentle squeeze.

“Congrats, Tiger,” she said gently. “You’re gonna be a papa.”
