As I came out as trans slowly to a few select people, the idea began to burn in the back of my mind about my fursona. Would it be odd if I had her be the gender I believe and feel I was supposed to be? Would I be looked at weirdly for it? I got some guidance from some close friends to a few artists, but through it all one artist in particular just stood out in my mind.\n\nKorrok was an artist I found in the Dealer's Den at a FWA -years- ago, offering sketches for 10$. I was low on cash, her talent seemed unbelievable for that price, so I had to take a shot. She was everything I could have hoped for in an artist. The piece was beautiful, she was fast, it was a nice transaction, didn't think much of it, walked away a happy customer. Fast forward two years, back at FWA and I bump into her again. The theme in my head that year was video game characters. I'd already been shot down by a few artists because they 'don't draw copyrighted material'~ it's cool. It is. Really. Just..Don't be a snob -.-. But again I ran into her. Again, ridiculously low price, and we sat and had a small conversation. She agreed to do another piece for me, quoted an hour for time the usual spiel. Even though she had to retire after that hour, someone was sitting at her table with my commissioned art, telling me it was important to her that she got it done for me. That oddly stuck with me.\n\nSo when it came time to get my first ever reference sheet that little story stuck out. She was nice, pleasant, made me feel special.. So dug her up on FA, and shook as I sent her a note explaining my situation. She remembered the art, was totally comfortable helping me re-imagine myself and guided me expertly through the steps one by one and through the whole thing made me feel absolutely normal.
