Midnight walks up, putting the cash in his hair for safekeeping. "Something wrong?"
"The hell that was my youth has been reignited, why would anything be wrong?"
"Because you look like you're thinking?" He smirks.
She sighs, "I just... Midnight, the last Gauntlet was always the biggest mistake of my life. I became ruthless, Smoke didn't have half his scars before then, and Spike was utterly destroyed in the mind... It wasn't until after it was over that I saw the monster I'd become, and the rivers of blood left in my wake. That's why I disbanded Poisoned Rose in the first place... Now my own demons are returning to haunt me."
She wipes her hands over her face, and a quiet click comes from many seats above, and behind them. A sparrow is aiming a pistol right for her with a silencer screwed onto the end, his face devoid utterly of any emotion.
Midnight's ear twitches. "Look out!" He pulls out a piece of thick kevlar from his hair, putting it on his chest as he turns to her and hugs her close, pressing the plate between them as he turns his back to the gunman as the sparrow pulls the trigger. It enters Midnight's body, and hits the plate, preventing it from hitting her.
Cinder is startled by this, and her eyes lock on the gunman. "He... I didn't... I still can't sense his chi!"
The sparrow calmly takes a step, and then leaps towards them, pulling a sawed-off shotgun out of his coat.
Midnight hisses, his ears flattening to his head as his eyes flash. "I don't know what's in that bullet... but it hurts like hell, and that fact alone is going to make this very violent." He rears back, and throws the plate at the sparrow's head. "Stay. Behind me." He hisses to Cinder, forgoing his katanas and instead drawing his pistols.
The sparrow backflips, cocks his shotgun, and fires at Midnight from a few yards away.
It blows a hole in Midnight's side, and he jerks as gore flies from the wound. Midnight hisses louder, before his eyes turn to steel and he starts walking towards the sparrow calmly, firing his guns alternately and repeatedly, one at a time.
The sparrow does the same until one of Midnight's bullets flies right through his head, and the bird falls to the ground dead.
Midnight pants heavily, swaying a little. He was bleeding profusely, and he had a bunch of holes torn through him. He turns to Cinder with a smile, and with glassy eyes, he says, "I won! Victory nap!..." And he sways too far to the right, collapsing to the floor and dropping his guns.
Cinder hurries to him, and turns him over, reflexively putting pressure on the wounds. "Midnight?! If this is a joke so help me I... I..." She gulps as she keeps her hands pressed on the wound to stanch the bleeding. he should have healed by now.
She felt the skin healing, but very slowly. He'd be out and healing for a bit.
"He's losing too much blood," she realized. Shamelessly she rips off her own top, and pressed it to the wound to soak up blood, and staunch the bleeding.
It takes five minutes, but his bleeding finally slows.
Cinder's heart still threatens to beat its way out of her chest, but her breathing evens out when the wound appears to has become quite a bit more minor.
Five more minutes pass before his breathing returns to normal, and a minute later he groans. "Ow..."
Cinder sighs in relief as she bends over him, sending a silent prayer to Chaos in thanks.
"Water..." He rubs his temple, his voice hoarse.
Cinder looks around, and pulls a bottle of water of a chair left behind by a spectator. She unscrews it, and trickles it onto his lips.
He swallows what he can, his wounds healing a bit faster now that he's conscious.
Cinder brushes a hand gently over his quills.
He finally opens his eyes slowly. "You okay? He didn't get yo..." His words die as his vision is filled with her concerned face, and hanging uncovered breasts.
She sighs in relief, "No, I'm not hurt... We need to see that first bullet he shiot though. It damaged your healing factor somehow."
"Oh yeah..." He winces. "I feel pain in my hip... What happened to your top?"
"You were bleeding out," she explains, touching his hip gingerly. "Is it the slug?"
"It's the only bullet that didn't leave my body. The Kevlar made sure of that." Midnight murmurs, reaching for the water.
Cinder sighs, "Apologies... Brace yourself, I need to dig it out."
"Better take off my clothes to use as the sponge, then. It's deep in there." Midnight sips the water.
"You're fishing for an excuse for me to strip you," she says a she digs her fingers into his wound.
"No, it's either my clothes or your pants. Your top is already blood-logged." He winces, trying not to move. "I was trying not to be a perv."
She closes her eys, and uses her free hand to shuck off her pants, ready to staunch the bleeding as she reaches in deeper for the bullet.
"AhahAH!!!" He cringes, crushing the water bottle, unable to even admire her now naked body with his eyes shut tight.
She grits her teeth as her fingers brush the bullet, and she pushes deeper to grip it in her fingers.
"Fuuuuu-" Midnight bites on his right wrist inhibitor ring, hissing hard as blood gushes from the wound.
Cinder quickly puls the bullet out, and presses her pants to the wound. she make sure to use the inside since leather isn't very absorbant.
Midnight pants hard, his teeth bared on his ring. His normally hidden short hedgehog claws poked through his gloves, his left hand leaving claw marks on the ground.
She sets the bullet aside,and curses. "I need heated metal to close this wound quickly unless you decide to kick-start your healing factor again."
"Grab a piece of metal." He hisses.
She reaches into his quills looking for a knife.
He grabs her arm. "Focus on what you want to grab." He hisses.
She yanks her hand away, "Fine!" She grabs a metal railing,and rips a length of it free.
He snickers. "I meant... In order to find what you need in my hair... you had to think of what you wanted. My touch... would have granted you access to my stash. Take off my left inhibitor ring..."
She takes it off with a cling, "Just heat the rod you idiot."
He grabs the rod, and his unrestrained Chaos Energy heats it quickly.
She sighs, "Now... Prepare to hate me."
She pulls he pants away, and presses the rod to the wound.
He roars, clamping his inhibitor ring back on as he writhes in pain, his split second decision saving him from triggering a Chaos Blast.
Cinder takes the rod awa when it's burned shut, and tosses the meta aside, "There... You might have a scar, but you'll live..."
He grabs her by the throat, hissing as he glares at her, his quills bristling.
She goes rigid, and gently takes ahold of his wrist as se holds her breath.
He breathes hard, glaring. Then, his gaze softens as he looks down, his right hand shooting up and groping her left breast. "Boop!"
She cringes, and prelares to slap him... Then pauses, dropping her hands.
He blinks. "Um... huh, I expected the slap." He lets her go. He looks her naked body over, noting his blood patching her fur. "I guess we're even now?"
"Not quite," Cinder says as she picks up her bloody pants, and starts redressing.
"No, here." He pulls off his clothes, and offers them to her. "You shouldn't wear those."
She ties her top around herself, "This may be a surprise Midnight, but this isn't the first time my clothes were this soaked with blood."
"Maybe not, but if you have a tiny wound, and my blood gets in it, it'll either kill you from the inside, or bind you to me. Neither of which I think you want." He points out.
"I'll take my chances," she says harshly. "Now just teleport us to the hotel. KFJ already took Lucy home."
Midnight sighs, and grabs his discarded pistols. "So... are we still on for dinner?"
"…Yes... once i have replacement clothes."
He nods and offers his hand to her. "Dress nice!"
She takes his hand with closed eyes.
He warps them back to the hotel, in front of her room.
She puts her hand on the doorknob, and enters without another word.
He walks to his room. "So... Smart, Crazy... do you think she likes me?"

You did just save her life. It's only natural she's got a lot on her mind given how she usually treats us.
"That's what I thought. But now the million dollar question: do I have a shot with her?" He walks into his room, and takes off his uniform and weapons.
I'd say so.

Midnight nods, and pulls a tuxedo out of his hair. "Alright then, next question... you two saw how sexy she looked, right? Naked and splattered with my blood? I almost bonered so hard..."
