It hurts so bad!!!!\" Waterfalls of tears shoot from his eyes.\n\n \"Oh dear... Luckerio, stay here. I'll take Woremore back to the castle.\" Candelira says, warping the two away.\n\n Suddenly a white ATV speeds past behind Luckerio.\n\n \"EEP! Unlucky!\" She yelps again, diving into a nearby alley.\n\nIn under a second the ATV is barely within earshot.\n\nShe sighs with relief. \"Where is that person going in such a hurry? Oh no! The carnival! A strong one, by my readings.[/i]\"\n\nA black streak shoots by just up ahead, a shower of sparks erupting in a horizontal line in the air following the blur.\n\n Trent nods, \"I see it now.\" He checks his morpher, \"And I'm fully refreshed.\"\n\n The blur comes around and slows down, turning into Shadow. \"Impenetrable all the way around.\" He states, brandishing his Brachio Staff.\n\n Trent sighs, \"What if we both hit it at the same time?\"\n\n \"We can try.\" Shadow nods, switching his staff mode to Earthquake.\n\n \"White Ranger, Dino Power!\" Trent morphs, and starts making as many Light Arrows as he can, \"On your mark Doc!\"\n\n Shadow raises his staff as he creates a barrage of Chaos Spears. \"Brachio Staff, Earth Strike! Parameeshia, get him!\" He points at Conner, and the minions appear.\n\n \"Tyranno Staff!\" The long rod a appears in Conner's hands, and he starts beating down the Parameeshia with ease.\n\n Kira and Ethan land with Lucy, starting to beat up Parameeshia.\n\nConne kicks one of the minions into a group of them, \"What took you guys?\"\n\n\"We don't have superspeed like you and Lucy.\" Ethan states, activating his armor skin and punching a minion.\n\n Lucy pulls a large blade out of the back of her hoodie that unfolds into a giant Shuriken with a large ring in the center. She spins it by the ring, and then throws it at the Maze Monster.\n\n The monster yelps and blocks it with its staff. \"Crimson, Gold, Death! Where the hell are you guys?!\"\n \nEthan jerks, \"Death?!\"\n\n \"Pathetic, all of you.\" A boomerang slashes into all four heroes, and D catches it. \"And you. What happened to keeping them happy?\"\n\n\"They broke free of the illusion somehow!\" The monster defends himself.\n\n \"They always did have a strong will,\" Cinder says as she walks up beside D. Lucy groans in pain, and Cinder's head jerks towards her.\n\n\"Owie... It hurts...\"\n\n \"Lucy... get back! We'll handle this!\" Kira growls as they get to their feet.\n\n Cinder stares... And then draws her rifle, changing to Scythe mode.\n\n \"Dinothunder, Power Up!\" Kira and Ethan call, turning into their Ranger forms.\n\n\"Tricera Shield!\" Ethan calls, pulling out his shield.\n\n\"Ptera Grips!\" Kira gets into a fighting stance.\n\n Cinder cocks her Scythe's firing mechanism... Then slashes D brutally before firing a shot into the Maze Monster.\n\n The Rangers gasp, pausing.\n\nD yelps, stumbling back as he rubs his chest. \"What was that for?\" He hisses, recovering.\n\n Cinder stabs the scythe into the ground by the blade, and takes off her helmet to glare at D. \"Never. Harm. My. Students.\" Then she kicks her weapon back into her hands, shooting at D.\n\n The shots slam into his chest, and he stumbles as he gasps for air, falling to his knees. \"It's... you!\" He manages to gasp, speechless.\n\n She raises an eyebrow, and tears off her mask, letting it fly away in the wind as she steps back among the rangers. \"There's a force field surrounding the park. Break it, and you break the illusion. Deboss can pass through it easily, but you'll need to attack it from the outside, and the inside.\" She puts on her helmet, \"Take Lucy with you, I'll handle these two...\"\n \n\"Why are you helping us now? How do we know you won't turn on us again?\" Conner growls.\n\n Cinder barks at him, \"MOVE IT!\"\n\n Conner crosses his arms defiantly as Kira and Ethan run with Lucy in tow.\n\n Cinder decides she hasn't time to deal with him, and instead attacks D since he was the one that struck Lucy.\n\n D has recovered by now, and deflects the attack, kicking her savagely.\n\n Fueled by her hate she barely feels he blow, and spins her scythe rapidly to cut him to ribbons.\n\n He ducks and kicks her kneecap, his rage as fevered as her own.\n\n Conner glances between them, trying to decide who to help. Eventually he decides to take care of the Maze Monster, and starts shooting it with his blaster.\n\n \"I will kill you for your betrayal!\" D hisses, slashing Cinder's leg.\n \nShe catches the blow with the shaft of her weapon, and spins so it strikes him across the chest before she shoots him. \"I didn't betray the Deboss, I was never on your side!\"\n\n \"A shame. You would've harvested tons of emotion. Now you'll die.\" He roars, catching her by surprise by slashing her helmet, shattering some of the black visor and cutting her cheek. He doesn't stop there, slashing her stomach over and over before slamming a Sparta Kick into her chest, sending her flying.\n\n Cinder goes rolling, and holds her gut as she gets back to her feet.\n\n \"Deboss In.\" He states, activating his battery and loading it into his Flute Buster. \"Deboss Finish.\" He throws it, and it seems to go right through her.\n\n BOOM!\n\nOut of the explosion... The boomerang clatters to the ground at D's feet. Standing just in front of Cinder is Trent, sword on his shoulder. Cinder glares at Trent, but he ignores it.\n\n \"Why save her? She's not on your side.\" D states tauntingly, picking up his weapon.\n\n \"Actually she is,\" Trent says. \"She was dropping hints the whole time, some of them were harder to pick out, but we got them in the end.\"\n\n D growls before chuckling. \"Another day, Waverider. Next time, have your little bodyguard here not interrupt us.\" He turns and disappears in a black cloud.\n\n \"Hmph,\" Trent peppers the maze monster with light arrows. \"Until next time Death Ranger.\"\n\n Conner looks at Trent. \"Wanna go Super Dino Mode?\"\n\n Trent nods, \"My second time today.\"\n\n \"Cool! Super Dino Mode!\" Conner's white diamond designs become actual spikes as his helmet roars, and he slashes the monster with his hands.\n\n Trent transforms as well, speeding over, and slashing/stabbing wildly with his hand blades.\n\n\"Yipe!\" The monster yelps, flying backwards on his back.\n\n\"Cinder, do the honors.\" Conner says.\n\n Cinder nods, and pulls out one of each battery, \"Brave... IN!\" She activates them at once, and loads them flawlessly into an ammo clip before loading it I to her scythe. Then she aims Down the shaft at the Maze Monster, \"Kyoryuger, Brave Finish!\"\n\nThen she blasts her weapon, the spirit head of each battery she loaded flying at the monster at once with jaws agape.\n\n The monster cries out as it falls and explodes.\n\n\"Oh, unlucky!\" Luckerio complains, running over. \"Here! Some nutritious Joygrow!\" She pours it on the monster before running away.\n\n \"Cowardly little sprite,\" Cinder says. \"Gabutyra is still injured, you'll have to handle this with your own Zords.\"\n\n \"Gotcha! Trent, how's your Zords?\" Conner asks.\n \n\"Tired, but more than a match for this idiot,\" Trent replies.\n\n \"Right. I'll meet you up there.\" Conner pulls out the Shield of Triumph. \"Shield of Triumph! Triassic Ranger!\" It glows before making his white spikes become blue and gold designs, his Dinothunder symbol gaining two more spikes, his shoulders gain gold shoulderpads, and his helmet gains gold and blue details, making it look more like a Styracosaur.\n\n Trent raises his sword, \"Let's go Stegazord!\"\n\n \"Mezodon Rover!\" Conner calls.\n\n Cinder watches their Zords form as she leans her back against a building, sliding down it to a sitting position with her rifle in her lap.\n\n \"Shield of Triumph! Mezodon Megazord!\" Conner calls.\n\n The Stegazord lands on one side of the monster as it aims it's spear at it.\n\n The monster waves its staff, and two copies of it appear next to it.\n\n Trent glances between the three of them, \"which is real?! Are they clones, or illusions?\"\n\n \"Don't know! Smash them all!\" Conner calls, his Zord drawing axes.\n\n Trent nods, and charges, spinning to hit all three with his tail.\n\n It turns into one, the copies disappearing. \"Ow!\" He complains.\n\n \"Stegazord Stinger, GO!\" Trent fires his spear into it, point-blank, and sending it towards Conner's Megazord.\n\n Conner destroys it by cleaving it with his axes, blowing the monster up.\n\n Cinder sighs in relief, and pulls the battery out of her weapon, demorphing with her chest heaving with exhaustion. Lucy walks over to her, \"...Sifu?\"\n\nCinder turns her head towards her, and smiles, \"Lucy...\" The little hoglet hugs her, and Cinder uses her free hand to rub Lucy's back.\n\n Conner lands, demorphing. \"You okay?\" He freezes with his jaw dropped, staring at Cinder.\n\n Cinder pants, nodding as she stands, \"I will be fine... Out on the street Candelira walks with a large soft drink, and and gasps when she sees him. She points Luckerio, who sports a huge bucket of popcorn, his direction.

 "Oh dear... Luckerio, stay here. I'll take Woremore back to the castle." Candelira says, warping the two away.

 Suddenly a white ATV speeds past behind Luckerio.

 "EEP! Unlucky!" She yelps again, diving into a nearby alley.

In under a second the ATV is barely within earshot.

She sighs with relief. "Where is that person going in such a hurry? Oh no! The carnival! Oh, unlucky!" She jumps to her feet and starts running that way.

Trent screeches to a stop outside the carnival, and heads for the front gates, "Okay, what am I looks at Mina?"

 "An invisible forcefield. A strong one, by my readings."

A black streak shoots by just up ahead, a shower of sparks erupting in a horizontal line in the air following the blur.

 Trent nods, "I see it now." He checks his morpher, "And I'm fully refreshed."

 The blur comes around and slows down, turning into Shadow. "Impenetrable all the way around." He states, brandishing his Brachio Staff.

 Trent sighs, "What if we both hit it at the same time?"

 "We can try." Shadow nods, switching his staff mode to Earthquake.

 "White Ranger, Dino Power!" Trent morphs, and starts making as many Light Arrows as he can, "On your mark Doc!"

 Shadow raises his staff as he creates a barrage of Chaos Spears. "Brachio Staff, Earth Strike! Chaos... Storm!" He fires both at the same time.

 Trent fires his entire volley at the single point where Shadow's attacks strike the force field.

 The shield bends under the barrages, but doesn't break.

Shadow frowns, thinking as he twirls his staff. "Hm..."

 Trent props his sword on his shoulder, "Maybe if we can hit it from both sides at once?"

 "Both sides?" Shadow tilts his head.

 "Can you get inside?" Trent hens his head to him.

 Shadow frowns and shakes his head. "No. Otherwise, I wouldn't have brought up the shield in the first place. I can feel the others in there, and the Chaos energy to warp in there, but the shield won't let me get inside."

 Trent sighs, "So how do we get their attention?"

 "I don't know." He sighs. "Hopefully, they'll figure it out on their own."

 Kira smiles to herself as she carries the guitar to the side of a soccer field. She looks up to see Conner pretending to play soccer out on the field, "He's sure having fun, huh Ethan?"

She looks over as Ethan says, "I'm sorry what?" His arm is hooked around... Air.

 "Hey guys, wanna join us?" Conner calls, waving.

 "Nah man, you keep playing with yourself," Ethan shouts, and laughs.

 "Myself? Looks at all these sexy ladies, air hugger!" He scowls.

 Ethan turns to the space his arm is around, "See? I told you that you looked that thin." He glances at Kira, "What's up with you? About to try out for the Air Guitar Championship?"

 "Excuse me? This is my brand new guitar, signed by Jimi Hendrix!" Kira frowns.

 Ethan looks dubious, "What is up with you two? Conner was always a one-man-team, and you're nuts about music, but this... Did you guys eat something funky or something?"

"Must be the same thing you ate." Conner counters. "You're holding nothing, dude!"

 Ethan frowns, "Are you going blind or something?"

 "Dude. If your girl is real... then make her flash me." Conner crosses his arms.

Ethan frowns, and stands as his skin glistens blue, "Quit talking about Malina like that, Grass Fairy!"

 "Says you, Air-Lover." Conner growls, cracking his knuckles.

 Kira sets her guitar down, and gets between them, "What the Hell is wrong with the both of you?! Ethan, there's nobody there, and you're alone on that field Conner!"

 "You can't see them either? This is stupid." Conner growls, looking around. "Hey dude, is there anyone on that field, on that bench, and is there a guitar there?" Conner asks a passerby.

 The guys stops, "...No, nada, zip. Sorry!" He waves before he walks off, Petting an invisible cat.

 Ethan blinks. "So... we're all seeing illusions?"

 Kira blinks, "Oh Chaos... The Deboss..."

 Conner frowns and looks around. "Now that I look at it... everyone here looks like they're seeing something No one else can... and they're enjoying it."

 Ethan looks puzzled, "Wait... Remember what Candelira told us about the cake monster? They were trying to make people happy so they could take the happiness!"

 "Yeah!" Conner snaps his fingers. "That's what's happening now! We need to find the monster doing this."

 Kira looks around, "Easier said than done... I don't remember there being a soccer field in Twinkle Park..."

 "Well then, let's look for the carnival again." Ethan says seriously.

 They sadly say goodbye to their illusions before walking around.

 As they round the corner of the bleachers they suddenly find themselves in the park again, coming out from around a carousel.

 "A Ranger?! Parameeshia, get him!" He points at Conner, and the minions appear.

 "Tyranno Staff!" The long rod a appears in Conner's hands, and he starts beating down the Parameeshia with ease.

 Kira and Ethan land with Lucy, starting to beat up Parameeshia.

Conne kicks one of the minions into a group of them, "What took you guys?"

"We don't have superspeed like you and Lucy." Ethan states, activating his armor skin and punching a minion.

 Lucy pulls a large blade out of the back of her hoodie that unfolds into a giant Shuriken with a large ring in the center. She spins it by the ring, and then throws it at the Maze Monster.

 The monster yelps and blocks it with its staff. "Crimson, Gold, Death! Where the hell are you guys?!"
 
Ethan jerks, "Death?!"

 "Pathetic, all of you." A boomerang slashes into all four heroes, and D catches it. "And you. What happened to keeping them happy?"

"They broke free of the illusion somehow!" The monster defends himself.

 "They always did have a strong will," Cinder says as she walks up beside D. Lucy groans in pain, and Cinder's head jerks towards her.

"Owie... It hurts..."

 "Lucy... get back! We'll handle this!" Kira growls as they get to their feet.

 Cinder stares... And then draws her rifle, changing to Scythe mode.

 "Dinothunder, Power Up!" Kira and Ethan call, turning into their Ranger forms.

"Tricera Shield!" Ethan calls, pulling out his shield.

"Ptera Grips!" Kira gets into a fighting stance.

 Cinder cocks her Scythe's firing mechanism... Then slashes D brutally before firing a shot into the Maze Monster.

 The Rangers gasp, pausing.

D yelps, stumbling back as he rubs his chest. "What was that for?" He hisses, recovering.

 Cinder stabs the scythe into the ground by the blade, and takes off her helmet to glare at D. "Never. Harm. My. Students." Then she kicks her weapon back into her hands, shooting at D.

 The shots slam into his chest, and he stumbles as he gasps for air, falling to his knees. "It's... you!" He manages to gasp, speechless.

 She raises an eyebrow, and tears off her mask, letting it fly away in the wind as she steps back among the rangers. "There's a force field surrounding the park. Break it, and you break the illusion. Deboss can pass through it easily, but you'll need to attack it from the outside, and the inside." She puts on her helmet, "Take Lucy with you, I'll handle these two..."
 
"Why are you helping us now? How do we know you won't turn on us again?" Conner growls.

 Cinder barks at him, "MOVE IT!"

 Conner crosses his arms defiantly as Kira and Ethan run with Lucy in tow.

 Cinder decides she hasn't time to deal with him, and instead attacks D since he was the one that struck Lucy.

 D has recovered by now, and deflects the attack, kicking her savagely.

 Fueled by her hate she barely feels he blow, and spins her scythe rapidly to cut him to ribbons.

 He ducks and kicks her kneecap, his rage as fevered as her own.

 Conner glances between them, trying to decide who to help. Eventually he decides to take care of the Maze Monster, and starts shooting it with his blaster.

 "I will kill you for your betrayal!" D hisses, slashing Cinder's leg.
 
She catches the blow with the shaft of her weapon, and spins so it strikes him across the chest before she shoots him. "I didn't betray the Deboss, I was never on your side!"

 "A shame. You would've harvested tons of emotion. Now you'll die." He roars, catching her by surprise by slashing her helmet, shattering some of the black visor and cutting her cheek. He doesn't stop there, slashing her stomach over and over before slamming a Sparta Kick into her chest, sending her flying.

 Cinder goes rolling, and holds her gut as she gets back to her feet.

 "Deboss In." He states, activating his battery and loading it into his Flute Buster. "Deboss Finish." He throws it, and it seems to go right through her.

 BOOM!

Out of the explosion... The boomerang clatters to the ground at D's feet. Standing just in front of Cinder is Trent, sword on his shoulder. Cinder glares at Trent, but he ignores it.

 "Why save her? She's not on your side." D states tauntingly, picking up his weapon.

 "Actually she is," Trent says. "She was dropping hints the whole time, some of them were harder to pick out, but we got them in the end."

 D growls before chuckling. "Another day, Waverider. Next time, have your little bodyguard here not interrupt us." He turns and disappears in a black cloud.

 "Hmph," Trent peppers the maze monster with light arrows. "Until next time Death Ranger."

 Conner looks at Trent. "Wanna go Super Dino Mode?"

 Trent nods, "My second time today."

 "Cool! Super Dino Mode!" Conner's white diamond designs become actual spikes as his helmet roars, and he slashes the monster with his hands.

 Trent transforms as well, speeding over, and slashing/stabbing wildly with his hand blades.

"Yipe!" The monster yelps, flying backwards on his back.

"Cinder, do the honors." Conner says.

 Cinder nods, and pulls out one of each battery, "Brave... IN!" She activates them at once, and loads them flawlessly into an ammo clip before loading it I to her scythe. Then she aims Down the shaft at the Maze Monster, "Kyoryuger, Brave Finish!"

Then she blasts her weapon, the spirit head of each battery she loaded flying at the monster at once with jaws agape.

 The monster cries out as it falls and explodes.

"Oh, unlucky!" Luckerio complains, running over. "Here! Some nutritious Joygrow!" She pours it on the monster before running away.

 "Cowardly little sprite," Cinder says. "Gabutyra is still injured, you'll have to handle this with your own Zords."

 "Gotcha! Trent, how's your Zords?" Conner asks.
 
"Tired, but more than a match for this idiot," Trent replies.

 "Right. I'll meet you up there." Conner pulls out the Shield of Triumph. "Shield of Triumph! Triassic Ranger!" It glows before making his white spikes become blue and gold designs, his Dinothunder symbol gaining two more spikes, his shoulders gain gold shoulderpads, and his helmet gains gold and blue details, making it look more like a Styracosaur.

 Trent raises his sword, "Let's go Stegazord!"

 "Mezodon Rover!" Conner calls.

 Cinder watches their Zords form as she leans her back against a building, sliding down it to a sitting position with her rifle in her lap.

 "Shield of Triumph! Mezodon Megazord!" Conner calls.

 The Stegazord lands on one side of the monster as it aims it's spear at it.

 Cinder carefully takes it... And then holds it over her heart while she closes her eyes.

 Inside the battery, Ramerez sits beside a raging waterfall on a rock, staring hollowly at the falling water.

 Ramerez... It's Cinder.

 "What do you want?" He states.

 I'm home Ramerez. I know I hurt you, but please let me explain.

 "Explain? Explain?! What's there to explain?!" He stands up angrily. "You tried good, you didn't like it. You tried bad, tore apart all the friendships that you made, took our weapons, deserted us... and you didn't like that either, so you came back hoping it'll be fine?! That's not fine to me!"

...I know...but please, I just need one last chance.

 "...I'm coming out. Stand back." Ramerez starts glowing.

I'm not in a position to move, she thinks as she throws the battery.

 Ramerez appears and lands, crossing his arms. He looks at her before blushing and turning away. "I'm listening."

 "Ramerez, I've humiliated the Kyoryugers to no end, I won't be upset if you look at me."

"But... you're indecent..." He says quietly. "I may be angry, but I have that much respect."

 She sighs quietly, "Mina, might I please have a blanket? I would like to see your face Ramerez while we speak."

 Ramerez silently pulls off his gladiator armor, wearing a cloth tunic underneath. He offers it to her.
 
She covers her delicate areas with the armor, and sighs, "I never really defected Ramerez. When I was inside Ankydon I saw a chance to spy on the enemy... But I had to fool my allies first."

 "Well you did a great job." He glances at her before turning to face her.

 "I know," she says quietly, opening her hand so her Hate battery drops to the floor. "I even had Gabutyra fooled until I explained it to him... But the power I used with the Deboss, I know I couldn't have used it without tapping into the darkness in my heart."

She meets his gaze, "I will not blame you for never trusting me again... I just wanted a chance to tell you the truth."

 He stares at her for a minute. "...I thought we lost you..." He starts tearing up. "...I thought I couldn't save you from the darkness of your heart..."

 She blinks a bit as moisture collects, but ignores it as she opens her arms, "Please mind the broken ribs."

 He gently hugs her, sobbing into her shoulder.

Shadow awkwardly ushers everyone upstairs to give the two a moment.

 She strokes the back of his head, "Ramerez...?"

 He sniffs and wipes a tear. "Hm...?" He looks at her.

 She cranes her neck, carefully touching her lips to his.

 He freezes, his eyes going wide.

 She slowly breaks the contact, and looks up at him with a question in her eyes.

 "Did... you just...?" He asks, speechless.

 "Ramerez... I hurt you deeply... And seeing the results cuts me deeper than any blade." She pauses to take a breath, "And I know I can never make it up to you. You've been nothing but kind to me."

 He stares at her, speechless. Slowly, he drops to a knee and takes her hands gently, holding them firmly. "Miss Red... please. Will you grant me peace of mind and let me court you?" He asks genuinely.

 She nods, "Of course you may." She carefully squeezes his hand.

 He smiles gently and kisses her hands, sniffing away a tear. "Thank you... Cinder."

 She blinks her eyes slowly, and then when they close she stays closed. Her chest slowly rises, and falls, just asleep.

 He smiles gently and stands, kissing her cheek. He then closes his eyes and turns into a battery, landing in her hands as his armor disappears off of her.

Five minutes later, Mina checks on Cinder, and noting that she's asleep, leaves and comes back with a warm blanket, draping the female warrior with a gentle smile. "Pleasant dreams, you two."
