"writing": "It's your turn to revive a monster. You don't have much money. You're doing this on a whim, really. So you bought the cheapest disk available. Old, small, dusty. It even had a thin crack running through it's rough surface, the object looking like it could crumble to dust at any moment.\n\nYou set the disk into the shrine, and the Priestess conducts the ritual that revives your monster. As the ritual concludes, light coalesces into the middle of the shrine, forming into a ball that solidifies, and with a final brilliant flash reveals the monster you have created.\n\nIt doesn't even look to be a foot tall. It's instantly recognizable as a Suezo/Plant. It's in the classic Suezo birthing position. Its single huge eye closed, its tailfoot curled around his orange and green melon shaped head protectively. Slowly it's big mouth gapes wide in a squeaking yawn. It's hazel eye opens blinkingly, staring straight ahead. It slowly scans the room and its eye locks on you when it finds you.\n\nThe Suezo weakly tries to stand. Its body constantly does a sort of bobbing, undulating movement, somewhat like a more subtle, full-body version of a pigeon bobbing its head. It manages to stand on its single appendage, revealing the circular nub that it precariously balances on and its puckering, pink anus. Around its anus is a dark green pattern of curving stripes that accentuate it.\n\nIt clumsily and slowly hops straight toward you. Its a little too precarious to look up at you, its single eye fixed in concentration on the floor ahead of it as it works hard to both balance and locomote. Despite its infancy and silly vulnerability it seems relatively independent already.\n\nIt stops at your feet, wavering, swaying.\n\n\"Heddo,\" it says in an androgynous, toddleresque squeak of a voice. \"I'm your new widdal monstur,\" it adds softly. Its eye widens and its big mouth spreads into a grin as if hearing itself speak this information has caused it to learn it for the first time. Its big, long, green tongue unfolds and lolls out. \"Nuheehee! New widdal monstur!\" It exclaims, hopping up and down on its tailfoot with joy, its nub wiggling when it leaves the ground.\n\nYou don't respond. Perhaps you're not impressed with your goofy new property. A tough Golem, a mysterious Tiger, or a legendary Dragon would have been more your speed. Suezos with a Plant subtyping were generally considered bottom tier monsters. The most elite monsters were like celebrities mixed with athletes, earning their fame and fortune battling it out in tournaments. Monsters that were good body guards were also highly prized. The lowest class of monsters tended to have roles similar to those of barn animals, providing their bodies and labour to do work around a ranch or hauling a cart in the city. Green Suezos were commonly considered this third class, and this one was severely on the runty side, so it might not even be good for that. It's delicate, tiny form was beyond runty, really; you suspect that it has something to do with the damaged state of the disk you used.\n\nJust in case you're missing something (even though you doubt it) you decide to take your newborn Suezo to the vet so get a readout on its stats and health. Every monster comes with a personality and a general idea of its final potential built into its DNA, though it takes a blood test to determine these statistics. The tiny little monster has to work very hard to follow you. It's tailfoot works like mad as it hops frantically behind you. It's single eye stares at you with desperation, it's face anguished. It seems to not dare look away lest it lose you in the crowd. Its tender, still wrinkled infant form can barely muster the energy to keep up with you, but it instinctively knows it depends on you for its survival. Its tiny, quick little pants are audible, its mouth hanging open slightly. It doesn't ask you to stop because it doesn't have the intelligence and world experience to know that this situation is unfair. It only knows that it must keep up with Master, and it only manages to do so because you slow down when it appears it will be left behind.\n\nYou arrive at the vet and fill out a form for your Suezo in the waiting room while it huddles close to your feet. You decide to name it Dinky.\n\nInto the examination room with Dinky you go after a short wait. The vet places the monster on a shining stainless steel examination table. The little monster hops about curiously, its eye staring straight ahead rather blankly. \nThe vet brings out a measuring tape, measures Dinky, and informs you that it is ten inches tall from the tip of its tailfoot nub to the crown of its head.\nHe tells you that Green Suezos can eat just about anything, but are happiest when fed a diet of healthy vegetarian food. He explains to you that while they sell pellets and dry kibble for Suezos, it is healthier for them mentally and physically to eat a wide variety of fruits, berries, grains, greens, grasses, and vegetables.\nHe pets Dinky on the head and the little monster purrs softly.\nThe vet retrieves a thermometer and warms it up in his hand, subtly trying to keep it out of the monster's view. When the thermometer is warmed up sufficiently, the vet quickly inserts the tip into Dinky's anus.\n\"Wha-wheek!\" the little monster squeaks in surprise. Its eye gets a confused, overwhelmed look and its constant gentle bobbing gets a little more quick and pronounced. Its mouth works open and shut silently after its initial wheeking exclaimation, its big, soft lips working. The thermometer beeps and the vet pulls it out of Dinky's anus, and tells you that its temperature is normal.\n\"Dinky is a bit skittish, so we'll restrain it for the rest of the exam,\" the vet informs you.\nThe vet picks up Dinky by his round head, and the monster's tailfoot starts to kick with fright.\n\"Whee-wheek! Wheek!\" he squeaks plaintively.\nDespite its frantic wiggling, the tiny little monster is easily subdued by the vet. Its strapped down on its back with two leather straps across its tailfoot to hold it down. It can't really move its head, and all it can do is kick and wiggle the tip of its tailfoot ineffectively. \nIt plaintively squeaks and murmurs, sometimes pausing, sometimes wiggling and kicking the tip of its tailfoot. The vet puts on a pair of plastic gloves and spreads Dinky's tiny little slit with his fingers. The slit is almost invisible, just slightly puffy, resting above the Suezo's anus. As the soft green skin is parted the pink inner workings are revealed, and Dinky is also revealed to be a male as his tiny penis pops out. It twitches a bit, showing off all of its pointy, pink, veiny, one inch glory. The vet informs you, rather needlessly you think, that Dinky is male. He releases his slit and the monster's penis slips back inside, though the thin little tip remains poking out, trapped by his secretive little folds drifting back shut.\n\nAfter a few more harmless tests that only earn a bit more squirming, pleading looks, and wheeks from little Dinky, it comes time for the blood test. The vet cleans and disinfects an area around the upper trunk of the Suezo's tailfoot.\n\n\"It's okay, little guy, this will only hurt for a second,\" the vet says soothingly as he wastes no time slipping the needle inside the little Suezo.\nThe Suezo's pleading, submissively anxious expression immediately snaps to one of abject pain and fear as the needle sinks inside. His big lips quiver, his bottom lip sticking out. His big eye looks sadly upward at the two humans, shocked, disbelieving, the look a silent plea for you and the vet to take his first experience of sharp pain in his short little lifetime away. His mouth hangs open for what seems like many long seconds, his eye rolls upward further, entreating heaven. He isn't breathing. His face reddens and reddens, then suddenly, fianlly, he draws in two deep, hitching, gasping, desperate breaths, and his next breath out is a long squealing wail of pain. He dissolves into loud ugly crying, looking up at both you and the vet in turn, his pink, ugly, pain and terror-stricken face and high pitched, hiccuping cries and breaths both scolding the two of you and pleading to be comforted.\n\n\"It's okay, little guy,\" the vet says as he pulls the blood-filled needle out and puts it in a holder with a few other samples. He cleans and disinfects the puncture area, gently patting the loudly and inconsolably sobbing Dinky on the top of his head.\n\nThe vet suggests that the two of you take some time alone in the room. It will take a while for the blood test results to be completed, but not long enough that it would be convenient for you to leave and come back. Dinky has been released and looks more subdued, now on the floor by your feet once again.\n\nYou decide to buy him some of the nutritional tablets formulated especially for baby Suezos. They are like large brown pills, and they come in a clear plastic bucket with a lid. The nutritional information and the image of a pure-bred Suezo are featured on the bucket.\n\nYou offer a single tablet to Dinky. He sniffs it, curling his front lip upward slightly. Suezos often do this when they want to take in the scent of something, since they have tiny nostrils, but the inside of their large mouths contain odour-sensing pits. They are also often observed opening their mouths or lolling out their tongue or otherwise drawing air into the mouth when they wish to further examine a scent that interests them.\n\nHe flicks out his tongue and snaps the tablet into his mouth, quickly chewing and swallowing. He lets out a few tiny coughs, his tongue hanging out, and then closes his mouth with a shudder, grimacing. The tablets are nutritionally formulated perfectly for him, but have a bitter, medicinal flavour. You also offer the Suezo a bowl of water, which he quickly drinks. You're suprised to see that he uses his lips to suck it up quickly rather than noisily lapping at it. After he's done taking a big drink, he licks his lips and squirms happily, looking up at you.\n\n\"Mmmhhmmm!\" he hums in pleasure, appreciating the refreshing water much more than he had the bad tasting tablets.\n\nAfter a while the vet brings you back Dinky's statistics on a few pieces of paper in a folder. You thank him and pay, and also buy a small carrier for Dinky, since he won't be able to make the long walk home without dropping behind from exhaustion. Dinky is scared but very sweet and obedient the whole way.\n\nWhen you get back to your ranch, you tie a thin piece of rope around the tip of Dinky's tailfoot, fastening the other end to a metal stake driven into the ground. You go sit down out of his reach, opening the folder. You watch as Dinky attempts to follow and reaches the end of his rope. He trips and falls forward, his entire little body briefly airborn before he flops down into the dirt. As if it has a mind of its own, his tailfoot continues to do its hopping motion, trying to propel him forward, and over and over again Dinky meets the resistance and trips, flies, flops, and sometimes just lies on the ground, his tailfoot kicking inefectually in mid-air. Eventually he stops and sadly examines his tailfoot with slow-dawning comprehension.\n\nYou look down at the papers.\nNAME: DINKY\nBREED: SUEZO \n\nSUB-BREED: PLANT\n\nSEX: MALE\n\nHEIGHT: TEN INCHES\n\nWEIGHT: THREE POUNDS\n\nNATURE: GOOD\n\nDOMINANCE LEVEL: SUBMISSIVE+\n\nLIKES: SWEET POTATO\nDISLIKES: TABLET\n\nFORM: SLIM\n\nPREDICTED STAT POTENTIAL:\n\nHIT POINTS: MODERATE \nPOWER: WELL BELOW AVERAGE \nINTELLIGENCE: BELOW AVERGE\nSPEED: MODERATE\nDEFENCE: MODERATE\nACCURACY: BELOW AVERAGE\n",

the vet informs you.<br />The vet picks up Dinky by his round head, and the monster&#039;s tailfoot starts to kick with fright.<br />&quot;Whee-wheek!&nbsp;&nbsp;Wheek!&quot; he squeaks plaintively.<br />Despite its frantic wiggling, the tiny little monster is easily subdued by the vet.&nbsp;&nbsp; Its strapped down on its back with two leather straps across its tailfoot to hold it down.&nbsp;&nbsp; It can&#039;t really move its head, and all it can do is kick and wiggle the tip of its tailfoot ineffectively. <br />It plaintively squeaks and murmurs, sometimes pausing, sometimes wiggling and kicking the tip of its tailfoot.&nbsp;&nbsp; The vet puts on a pair of plastic gloves and spreads Dinky&#039;s tiny little slit with his fingers.&nbsp;&nbsp; The slit is almost invisible, just slightly puffy, resting above the Suezo&#039;s anus.&nbsp;&nbsp; As the soft green skin is parted the pink inner workings are revealed, and Dinky is also revealed to be a male as his tiny penis pops out.&nbsp;&nbsp; It twitches a bit, showing off all of its pointy, pink, veiny, one inch glory.&nbsp;&nbsp; The vet informs you, rather needlessly you think, that Dinky is male.&nbsp;&nbsp; He releases his slit and the monster&#039;s penis slips back inside, though the thin little tip remains poking out, trapped by his secretive little folds drifting back shut.<br /><br />After a few more harmless tests that only earn a bit more squirming, pleading looks, and wheeks from little Dinky, it comes time for the blood test.&nbsp;&nbsp; The vet cleans and disinfects an area around the upper trunk of the Suezo&#039;s tailfoot.<br /><br />&quot;It&#039;s okay, little guy, this will only hurt for a second,&quot; the vet says soothingly as he wastes no time slipping the needle inside the little Suezo.<br />The Suezo&#039;s pleading, submissively anxious expression immediately snaps to one of abject pain and fear as the needle sinks inside.&nbsp;&nbsp; His big lips quiver, his bottom lip sticking out.&nbsp;&nbsp; His big eye looks sadly upward at the two humans, shocked, disbelieving, the look a silent plea for you and the vet to take his first experience of sharp pain in his short little lifetime away.&nbsp;&nbsp; His mouth hangs open for what seems like many long seconds, his eye rolls upward further, entreating heaven.&nbsp;&nbsp; He isn&#039;t breathing.&nbsp;&nbsp; His face reddens and reddens, then suddenly, fianlly, he draws in two deep, hitching, gasping, desperate breaths, and his next breath out is a long squealing wail of pain.&nbsp;&nbsp; He dissolves into loud ugly crying, looking up at both you and the vet in turn, his pink, ugly, pain and terror-stricken face and high pitched, hiccuping cries and breaths both scolding the two of you and pleading to be comforted.<br /><br />&quot;It&#039;s okay, little guy,&quot; the vet says as he pulls the blood-filled needle out and puts it in a holder with a few other samples.&nbsp;&nbsp; He cleans and disinfects the puncture area, gently patting the loudly and inconsolably sobbing Dinky on the top of his head.<br /><br />The vet suggests that the two of you take some time alone in the room.&nbsp;&nbsp; It will take a while for the blood test results to be completed, but not long enough that it would be convenient for you to leave and come back.&nbsp;&nbsp;Dinky has been released and looks more subdued, now on the floor by your feet once again.<br /><br />You decide to buy him some of the nutritional tablets formulated especially for baby Suezos.&nbsp;&nbsp; They are like large brown pills, and they come in a clear plastic bucket with a lid.&nbsp;&nbsp; The nutritional information and the image of a pure-bred Suezo are featured on the bucket.<br /><br />You offer a single tablet to Dinky.&nbsp;&nbsp; He sniffs it, curling his front lip upward slightly. Suezos often do this when they want to take in the scent of something, since they have tiny nostrils,&nbsp;&nbsp;but the inside of their large mouths contain odour-sensing pits.&nbsp;&nbsp; They are also often observed opening their mouths or lolling out their tongue or otherwise drawing air into the mouth when they wish to further examine a scent that interests them.<br /><br />He flicks out his tongue and snaps the tablet into his mouth, quickly chewing and swallowing.&nbsp;&nbsp; He lets out a few tiny coughs, his tongue hanging out, and then closes his mouth with a shudder, grimacing.&nbsp;&nbsp; The tablets are nutritionally formulated perfectly for him, but have a bitter, medicinal flavour.&nbsp;&nbsp; You also offer the Suezo a bowl of water, which he quickly drinks.&nbsp;&nbsp;You&#039;re suprised to see that he uses his lips to suck it up quickly rather than noisily lapping at it.&nbsp;&nbsp; After he&#039;s done taking a big drink, he licks his lips and squirms happily, looking up at you.<br /><br />&quot;Mmmhhmmm!&quot; he hums in pleasure, appreciating the refreshing water much more than he had the bad tasting tablets.<br /><br />After a while the vet brings you back Dinky&#039;s statistics on a few pieces of paper in a folder.&nbsp;&nbsp; You thank him and pay, and also buy a small carrier for Dinky, since he won&#039;t be able to make the long walk home without dropping behind from exhaustion.&nbsp;&nbsp;Dinky is scared but very sweet and obedient the whole way.<br /><br />When you get back to your ranch, you tie a thin piece of rope around the tip of Dinky&#039;s tailfoot, fastening the other end to a metal stake driven into the ground.&nbsp;&nbsp; You go sit down out of his reach, opening the folder.&nbsp;&nbsp; You watch as Dinky attempts to follow and reaches the end of his rope.&nbsp;&nbsp; He trips and falls forward, his entire little body briefly airborn before he flops down into the dirt.&nbsp;&nbsp; As if it has a mind of its own, his tailfoot continues to do its hopping motion, trying to propel him forward, and over and over again Dinky meets the resistance and trips, flies, flops, and sometimes just lies on the ground, his tailfoot kicking inefectually in mid-air.&nbsp;&nbsp;Eventually he stops and sadly examines his tailfoot with slow-dawning comprehension.<br /><br />You look down at the papers.<br />NAME: DINKY<br />BREED: SUEZO <br /><br />SUB-BREED: PLANT<br /><br />SEX: MALE<br /><br />HEIGHT: TEN INCHES<br /><br />WEIGHT: THREE POUNDS<br /><br />NATURE: GOOD<br /><br />DOMINANCE LEVEL: SUBMISSIVE+<br /><br />LIKES: SWEET POTATO<br />DISLIKES: TABLET<br /><br />FORM: SLIM<br /><br />PREDICTED STAT POTENTIAL:<br /><br />HIT POINTS: MODERATE <br />POWER: WELL BELOW AVERAGE <br />INTELLIGENCE: BELOW AVERGE<br />SPEED: MODERATE<br />DEFENCE: MODERATE<br />ACCURACY: BELOW AVERAGE<br /></span>",
