section. Not to buy anything, I just like to look at various out of print books or old covers of fantasy novels sometimes.\nBut then looking through a box, I discovered a couple of books that had the most ridiculous titles that really rubbed on your nose: \"Chicks in Chainmail\" and the sequel \"Did you say Chicks?!\" with that overly romantic font you see on harlequin books. The covers also reminded me of late Keith Parkinson, the fantasy artist mostly known for his artwork for the Everquest MMO and its expansions, but it was actually Larry Elmore who is a equally awesome old school fantasy artist. Looking at the covers which one of them featured a chick in chainmail posing for a hobbit looking guy with a camera and the screens and everything, the font and the all around goofy tone I got from glancing inside, I just *had* to buy the books.\nBasically the books were the first part of a anthology series of short fantasy stories written by mostly female writers, with the focus on female main characters. So far after reading a couple of stories of the first book, my initial reaction is a bit of a mixed bag. Not that the idea is bad, to make fantasy stories about female warriors who is scantily clad but doesn't have to be a expy of Red Sonja and all that implies with that but when the first story is about a guy who disguises himself as a woman a la Mulan and the second where a guild of female warriors tries to create a economical loophole to avoid pay taxes to their king who feels like their \"armor\" is much more expensive to make than the guys since they only require loin cloths by hiring a wizard to remove the female features, I kind of understand why the previous owner got rid of the books.\nEither that, or they thought that the books were gonna have some nsfw themes into them.
