A character of few words toward most, Serenity has a strong detest for most humans and couldn't care less about them. If she had her way, most would likely be eliminated off the face of the planet. However, thanks to the man who took her in as a Ralts, named Chris, she has found a way to tolerate the human race just enough to hold back her grudge against them.
Right after her birth, she found herself captured by another man before Chris found her. Unfortunately, this human discovered she'd been born blind, and because of her disability, he deemed her worthless on the spot, smashing the Pokeball he'd used to capture her beneath his foot and having her tossed off a cliff by his Houndoom, leaving her for dead. This is where her spite toward the human race originated.
After finding her, Chris took her under his wing, so to speak, and helped her learn how to master the senses she had remaining. Thanks to his tender care and constant support, she found herself falling for him over time while growing stronger, despite her hatred toward humans, and it was thanks to her that Chris managed to win his first badge, resembling the face of a Pangoro, that was given by the Gym Leader of Saga City, an old man with a talent for art and sculpting named Guile
What touched Serenity most at this time was when, rather than keeping the badge for himself, he bought her a necklace with the badge she'd helped him win attached and gifted it to her. He told Serenity it was better to have her wear it proudly as a symbol of her growth instead of tucking the badge away in a case. She fought for it, and so it was hers.
Unfortunately, not all was grand during their journey. Along their way, during her time as a Kirlia, Chris found himself arrested due to a major misunderstanding, and during his short imprisonment he was badly beaten by the officer which had put him behind bars. When she found out, her already fierce hatred toward humans grew stronger, and it was then she revealed a dark and vile power, exposing an eerie corruption festering within.
Later, they would find themselves attacked by a pack of Houndoom, their leader being the same Houndoom owned by her former and short lived captor. It had somehow Mega Evolved and taken control of the local pack, and it savored the opportunity to torment her once more, and the human that had taken her in. Repeating what it had done when they first met, the wicked Pokemon sent her flying off the nearby cliff next to their campsite, only this time Chris was present and took the brunt of the fall using his own body as a cushion to protect her, leaping through the air and clinging to her tightly.
After landing, it was believed the fall had killed Chris, and this made Serenity's sanity snap before releasing the corrupted power within. This in turn forced her final evolution, which mutilated her body in the process due to the unnatural method as she changed. Taking out all of the Houndoom with her newfound power, she'd lost all sense of reason, treating the act of butchering the Houndoom as mere playtime before tormenting their leader.
Luckily, it turned out Chris had managed to survive the fall, and despite his near mortally wounded state, he was able to reach out to Serenity just in time to stop her from becoming completely corrupted, pulling her out of her unraveled state just before he lost consciousness again. Because of this, Serenity had become the very first Shadow Pokemon hybrid!
She is capable of traversing the two forms in times of extreme rage and dire situations, and thanks to her bond with Chris, he is able to control her to a degree when she falls into her Shadow state using an assertive method of commanding her to keep her mind focused as best he can. When she slips too far, he puts himself between her and her target, forcing her to cease and desist, as even after she stops listening, a part of her still refuses to harm Chris, snapping her back into an obedient state.
After doing so much for her over time, Serenity eventually swore total fealty to Chris. Despite his strong detest for the master and servant relationship many have with their Pokemon, instead preferring to call her family, Serenity still considers Chris her master, the only human on the planet worth affection, and readily obeys any and all commands he gives, one extraordinary case being when he made her protect an entire ship full of humans after it had sank to the bottom of the sea using an impressive bubble-like barrier that engulfed the vessel!
At one point, Chris also managed to find a way to partially grant Serenity eyesight. Through a partnership with the brilliant minds at the Millennium Towers Laboratory, created in dedication to the real life 9/11 disaster, he revolutionized the medical field when he and the head of the lab, Professor Rose, found a way to transform one of the labs current projects into one capable of digitally performing transplants without the use of surgery.
With both Serenity and Chris donning helmets attached to the machine, which he and the Professor titled Project Celebi, Chris became its first donor, sacrificing the vision in his left eye to grant Serenity the ability to see through her right eye. The transplant was a complete success, meaning not only did it revolutionize the medical industry, but it made transplants possible between humans and Pokemon!
Because of doing so much for her, nearly dying and even sacrificing half of his vision for her sake, Serenity has a powerful love for Chris that's hard to match. Despite her hatred toward humans, she devotes herself toward Chris and his well being wholeheartedly, becoming a self proclaimed knight of sorts that tirelessly keeps others at a distance from him.
Now and then, she will grant a "special permission" of sorts for very select humans to be close with Chris, humans that have proven themselves worthy in her eyes of being near her master. Although the numbers are very few, she has shown a willingness to open up herself to a degree to these special humans, and as long as they make Chris happy and benefit him, she shows them a level of acceptance no others get to experience, making them truly special humans indeed!
Because of her sworn fealty to Chris, combined with her extraordinary sense of passion felt toward him, their relationship has evolved into one more along the lines of a young couple than mere friends or family. Since he too has come to harbor deep feelings for Serenity, the two have found themselves enjoying a life of deep, and sometimes intense, intimacy together along their journey.
Thanks to this, the two are currently oblivious to the fact she has become pregnant, despite the current bout of sickness she's been having, primarily in the early hours of the day. Once more telltale signs begin to show, one can't help but wonder how the two will respond to the new life their relationship has created inside her body...
One major reason they're oblivious is because Serenity refuses to go to a Pokemon Center, as it was when he visited one for help in the past that he found himself arrested by mistake, and she'd rather not risk enduring the same scenario twice because of her perceived stupidity of humans.
It should be reminded that pregnancy between humans and Pokemon shouldn't be possible. It's only thanks to a curse Chris harbors that it was made possible in this instance, as his curse has resulted in his genetics, although still primarily human, being warped into that of a Pokemon as well, turning him into the "missing link" so to say between species.
Serenity also allows other Pokemon Chris has saved to travel by his side, albeit begrudgingly for the most part. Nonetheless, because of her own past experience with humans, she can't help but relate to the Pokemon he saves from others and invites into his life, thus her "permission" to let them be a part of their family, as despite her objections, she'd rather the Pokemon he saves stay with him where they're safe instead of risking making them suffer at the hands of other humans that cross their paths.
Thanks to her growth, she has learned to communicate in human tongue through telepathy, although her speech and understanding of words is still limited due to how new she is to the language. She can say "love" and "love you" however without using telepathy, two words she forced herself to learn at one point when wanting to prove to Chris just how strong her feelings were for him. She can also let the other Pokemon by Chris's side speak by "sharing" her telepathy with them, so long as they stay within the small "psychic bubble" she creates to do so.
She's a Pokemon with an overbearingly negative attitude toward most, and sometimes this is shown toward Chris as well, but in his case she is quick to correct herself, usually showing a clingy, possessive, maternal and childish behavior toward him, longing for whatever doting affection she can get out of the one she loves.
Harboring a lingering "I was here first" mentality toward the other Pokemon by his side, she has worked on controlling this side of herself, although whenever she feels the other Pokemon are getting more affection than her, it's easy to surface despite her efforts to behave differently...
For the one she calls master, she has sworn to move the world by his request, and after revealing her extraordinary powers within through Shadow and Mega evolution's, it's very likely she has the potential to one day back up that vow!
