Battle Style:
Every Mienfoo and Mienshao use a battle style unique to their original pack and Serafina is no different. The battle style that Serafina utilizes is known as “Shi No Kaze”, which unlike other Mien-styles that focus on both chops and kicks, fully focuses on delivering powerful and agile kicks and other foot-based techniques and attacks to take down her foes. Like Kiyoki, this battle style focuses on overwhelming her opponents while limiting the amount of attacks they can get in herself, constantly sidestepping and going around her opponent like a twister.

“Hey look at that big smile on your face! If you’re smiling like that then that means my job is done!”
Usually just referred to as Sera by most Pokémon, Serafina is an energetic and optimistic young lady who is rarely seen without a smile on her face. Being naturally out-going and friendly means that she is always looking out for others and doing everything she can to help them out. This also means that she is quite easy to talk to and get along with and she tends to be seen as the most approachable member of Team Toukon.
Since she was young, Serafina has always been an extremely physically active Pokémon. She disliked being stuck inside all day and vastly preferred to spend her time running around and playing with the other children outside. She has a specific enjoyment of fighting and she likes to train and spar with any Pokémon that’s willing to indulge her.
Despite her humble and and somewhat ruffian-like personality pointing towards an equally humble background, Serafina is still an educated noble deep down and this comes to the surface when needed. Due to receiving a good education from both her father and the Aquahills School System, Serafina is actually well-versed on most things about the Aeros Continent, it’s settlements, laws, history and a whole cavalcade of other topics that many Pokémon even triple her age don’t even have an inkling about. This usually makes her the one that the Team relies on to best travel the continent or to give information on a location they’re in.
She’s also quite intelligent in general, being well-taught in writing, literature and mathematics. With her Merchant Family background, she also takes it upon herself to handle Team Toukon’s finances and their shopping, being able to easily spot what are good and bad deals, usually able to discern fakes from genuine articles and also being a good haggler.
While she tends to be able to keep a cool head most of the time, it’s also surprisingly easy for her to lose said cool and start to only focus on taking her foe down or some other singular goal at the cost of ignoring everything else. This rage tends to have different phases, sometimes she still has enough awareness to plan things out and other times she becomes nothing more than a mindless loose cannon who can’t be reasoned with.
Things that tend to immediately set her off is threatening her friends or innocent Pokémon or continually mocking her and her abilities. A Water Gun to the face from Kiyoki is usually enough to calm her down from this state, and since she tends to black out in the most extreme cases of this, Serafina will sometimes not even remember what she was doing prior to becoming enraged. Luckily, this part of herself only comes out while fighting and pushing her buttons outside of said scenarios will annoy her but not push her over the edge.
Biography:
The story of Serafina in a way starts with the story of her mother, Kanagi. Captured from her home of Ameno at an extremely young age, Kanagi was sold into slavery on the western side of Aeros and forced to work in the mines for many years to come. Due to her rebellious and strong-willed nature, she was commonly punished by her owners and made an example of though they never managed to break her. Eventually, she would end up becoming pregnant and not wishing for her future child to suffer the same fate as her, she decided to make her escape.
She ended up eventually doing so on a particularly stormy night, though she ended up being trailed by relentless slave catchers. As luck would have it however, she ended coming across a wealthy merchant Diggersby named Albinus Goldwing who had just started the long journey back to Symphony Town after having attended a fair in the City of Legaia. He offered to help to protect the young lady and give her shelter, with her somewhat hesitantly taking his aid to escape her pursuers. She returned to his manor in Symphony Town, where she was treated with the utmost care and respect. While she had initially meant to return home to Ameno after the birth of her child, she and Albinus genuinely fell in love with each other and she decided to stay and marry him. In order to better distance Kanagi from her past as a slave, she changed her name to Magda and when Albinus revealed his engagement to her, he stated that the two had known each other for some time and that he was the biological father of her soon to be born child. Only a short time after this, Serafina was born into a loving and comfortable home.
Serafina’s life was essentially the complete opposite of the life her mother had lived, with her every need attended to by her parents and their servants and never having to worry about any real hardships. However, it soon became clear that the Mienfoo wasn’t one to just stay home and mingle with only the other snobbish elites living in Symphony Town’s port side, Orchestra Aquahills . Ever since she was a young child, she would spend her entire day in the town mingling and playing with the other children. Because of her outgoing and friendly nature, she became quite popular and well-liked among the other Pokémon of Symphony Town.
She especially became close with two particular Pokémon. The first was the older Kiyoki who she looked up to and constantly trained with. She also became extremely close friends with Mercy, always sticking up for the Cubone when the other Pokémon would tease and bully her. Because of this, Mercy ended up opening up to Serafina and the Cubone started to be scarcely seen apart from her anytime she was in town.
As Serafina grew older, she started to recognize her own affinity and liking of helping other Pokémon around town and her dislike and lack of patience for the stuffy and boring life of commerce her father was trying to lead her towards. Her desire of using her strength to help others is what made her interested in joining a Rescue Team and knowing that Kiyoki would create one in the near future, she endeavored to start training even harder and become stronger for when the time would come.
And that time would come when Serafina would finish with her schooling and Kiyoki would officially create her own Rescue Team, Team Toukon, Serafina immediately joined as one of its members alongside Mercy. However, first she had to tell her parents about her decision, something she had been holding off on until she was officially in a Rescue Team due to her anxiety of how her parents would take the news.
Despite all her fears and worries, her parents surprisingly took the news much better than Serafina had expected, with her mother and father having already suspected that she had no intention of following in her father’s footsteps and that she was going to become a Rescue Teamer. While they of course feared for their daughter’s safety, especially since she’d be going into a dangerous profession they still valued her happiness above all else and thus fully supported her. With her parent’s blessing and a huge weight off of her shoulders, Serafina could fully invest her time and effort into Team Toukon, wishing to not only assist her friends but also help any Pokémon that are in need.
