She wants to jump up and go hunting, to bathe her tongue in fresh, pumping life.\n\nBut her paws are limp and slow, tangled in leaf mulch. She's on her back, arms over her head, staring blearily up at the canopy. A little voice in the back of her head whispers [i]something's wrong[/i], but the wind in the trees is just loud enough to drown it out.\n\n\"Shhh, little fox.\" A soft, furry hand brushes down her face, across the vulnerable curve of her throat. \"Look at me.\"\n\nShe looks, and once she does she can't tear her eyes away.
