"Come on, mom! It's right here!"
The young rabbit turned back, and saw her mother panting slightly as she climbed the final ledge to join her.
"Hoorf... Where do you get this energy from?"
The two rabbits had been drawn here by a tip from a friend. Rouge the bat had told them a story of a deep, underwater cavern in Green Hill, which apparently was too beautiful to truly describe in words. It was a bit of a swim, but well worth the trip. This little tale had drawn both Cream and Vanilla to this small, enclosed rocky section of the zone, where a pool of cool water awaited them.
With no one else around to take a peek, mother and daughter stripped down, ditching their dresses, shoes, gloves, and panties, as well as the older rabbit's bra and stockings. The two were familiar enough with each other that their nudity didn't phase them in the slightest. Cream's perky, developing body was already showing notable curves, showing that she would indeed inherit her mother's voluptuous form, whose breasts and rear wobbled at the slightest movement. Both their fur coats glistened in the sunlight as they stood together at the edge of the pool. Taking a couple of minutes to prepare their lungs for an extended period of inactivity, they eventually inhaled, held their breaths, and jumped in side by side.
Rouge had informed them that the tunnel was straightforward, although a little on the lengthy side. Fortunately, both Cream and Vanilla were expert breath holders, with the younger managing over 3 minutes, and the elder just over 5. They stuck close together as they swam, the light of the sun now fading from their vision, as the tunnel's darkness took over.
Feeling their way along the first leg of the journey, which was pitch black, both rabbits felt a chill of excitement, and uncertainty. The darkness didn't last long, as they saw a dim, orange green glow ahead from some strange plants lining the walls. They had been told to follow them to the tunnel's end to reach their destination.
The tunnel started descending, as did the swimmers. Cream was starting to feel a little scared, and she gripped her mother's hand, who gently squeezed back in an effort to comfort her. As the cave levelled out again, the light changed to a deep blue. They knew they were close.
The two rounded one last bend, and their faces brightened into smiles as they finally witnessed their goal. The cave was full of flowers and trees that could somehow survive in deep water, and their light illuminated the entire cavern, causing the walls and ceiling to shine as though they were a star filled sky. Rouge was right; words truly couldn't do it justice.
Cream hugged her mother in triumph, before the pair started exploring. They were quite content with just floating aimlessly, admiring the otherworldly brilliance shining around them. It felt like a dream...
But it would soon become a nightmare...
Unbeknownst to the mother and daughter, this cavern had one sole inhabitant. A spirit. It had long since forgotten who it was in its former life, and had happened upon this place by chance. It liked it so much, it decided to stay here, where it could hopefully rest in peace. But now, it had been disturbed by the two visitors, and it stealthily rose its head from the floor.
The spirit eyed the newcomers suspiciously. It hadn't been that long since that bat had come swimming in and looking around, and now it looked like she had told some friends. This annoyed the spirit. It had come here to find some peace and quiet, and now it looked like that was going to be taken away.
As Cream swam, she took a closer look at one of the flowers, which was smaller than the rest. She decided to take it with her and give it to Tails, since he'd be interested in something like this. Gripping the stem, and gently pulling, Cream felt a quick snap, and the flower came away.
The spirit seethed with rage. Not only had these two intruded on his home, but now they had vandalised it too! And worse still. If they left, they would no doubt tell their friends, word would spread, and it would never again get any peace. This would not stand. It now knew that the only way to ensure that he remained undisturbed was to silence these two. And it would do so in a way that would make them regret it for the very limited time they had left...
Cream felt her lungs twitch. Her time was almost up. Vanilla instinctively swam up and patted her back, and let her take the lead on their return trip. The mother rabbit always made sure that her daughter was in sight whenever they swam together. That way, if she got into trouble, she could immediately act. But as Cream left the cavern and reentered the tunnel back, it happened...
Vanilla suddenly felt her entire body turn ice cold as the spirit zoomed into her curvy body. Her mind went into shock briefly, before shutting down. For a few seconds, she floated there, unmoving, as if she were asleep. She opened her eyes, revealing only white, with no colour or soul to be found. The spirit was now in full control...
